《Land of Ilragorn》Chapter 2- They get fat

It has been a week since I saw my first dragon, and I've noticed something. This world has has too many dragons.
It has become a routine to hide in the nearest bush when the wind gets fierce, I even started doing it without mother.
By the way stats have probably become over 100, I don't know how to check. We haven't left the area I was born in, and mom has been running off anything that comes near before I could see them, so my only food has been fli-, sorry suvunkta's, which are very small, I have to eat 30 of them to get full.
My skill Mind Acceleration has raised to level 3 and my personal level has raised to 2, I didn't feel any different, so it must not be drastic from level 1 to 2. My miscolored feathers have also spread.
I finally ask, "Mom, how do I see my status?"
She got overly happy when I asked her, don't know what that is about. "Oh, you don't know something as easy as that, just use analysis on yourself."
"It's that simple?" Why didn't I already think of that?
I look at my stomach and say, "Activate Analysis."
"Target:Wild Infant Chocobo LVL 2 ((You) Note: Since target is you, you can see all of your status.)" "Title(s): Memory Keeper" "Skills: Analysis LVL 1, Copy Entity Number LVL 1, Mind Acceleration LVL 3" "Stats: HP: 149, STR: 86, SPD: 128, VIT: 72, MP: 123, INT: 520"
"What's Memory Keeper," I ask.
"Memory Keeper: Entity keeps memories of their past life (Effect: keep INT the same as previous life)"
That explains the intelligence. Mom was just staring at me while I was checking out my stats. She finally asks, "Are your stats high?"
"I don't know what are yours," I ask.
She starts acting proud, standing at her full height, "My HP, STR, SPD, and VIT are all above 600," she says proudly.
"What about Mana and Intelligence," I ask.
She goes back to her normal slouching and says quietly, "about 200 each." She quickly changes the subject, "What about you, what are your stats."
I think about it and decide to tell the truth, I have always been the guy to think that protagonists would have it easier if they just tell the truth, "All my stats are around 100, but my INT is around 500."
She backs up wide eyed and yells, "Whaaaat?!!?" Then six birds that look like mom, but some were fat and different colors, surround us and start running around us.
"Crap! They found us," She exclaims and looks around in urgency.
"Who found us?" I ask in urgency.
"Filolials," she says calming down while they still was around us, looking for openings.
"What are those?"
"Inferior bird species," she says smugly and they all stop in place.
"Who is inferior to who? I suggest you stop the idle chatter and get ready to die," The skinny gray one that I think is female, can't tell, yells at us.

"You have to catch us first," mom yells as she picks me up in her beak and runs past them.
My first time outside my little area and I can barely see anything we are going so fast, well I am a baby. I activate Mind Acceleration and I see her running at a normal humans full sprint.
I decide not to speak because I might talk to fast for mom to realize, my regular body is slow, but my beak takes almost no effort to use so I can talk as fast as a want in Mind Acceleration
Anyway back to the chase, mom gracefully dodges and weaves through the forest almost as though she had been doing her entire life.
After about 5 to 10 minutes the gray one yells, "stop running cowards."
Mom throws me up over a large branch while she goes under, "Cowards? You need six filolials to fight one me and my son," Then catches me again.
The filolials look angrier, "If you're such a superior species then this many should be easy for you, or are you so inferior that you won't even take down a single one of us, pitiful, and again, STOP RUNNING."
"Make me," right after that a stone wall appears in front of us, we have to stop. We are surrounded immeadiately.
"I just had to open my mouth," I turn off Mind Acceleration and say, "Well lets at least try to take one as she said, we wouldn't want to look inferior."
"Well Well Well, your kid is feisty, how old is he."
Mom starts thinking and then says, "None of your business." She must be trying to protect me from getting killed for showing potential.
If you think about, us just killing you would do nothing, so how about you teach your son about sacred duels, and we find who has more potential by doing that with my son. He's about 3 months old, you ok with that?
"What's sacred duels," I ask.
Mom look like she smiles and says, "we have a hell lords luck, it might let us survive this. It is a one-on-one fight where you get double amount of EXP if you would have killed them."
Sounds like an easy win to me. If mom has over 600 base stats and was boasting about that and I have about 1/6th of that in a week, it seems like their stats shouldn't be over 50.
"I accept."
"Sacred duel accepted." "Waiting for other entity to accept... Not in range, get closer to challenge."
"Well then lets go, my son will accept as well, obviously." We started walking while the filolials were in formation around us with one in front, two behind us, and the other two around somewhere, probally running off animals.
I whisper so only mom can hear me, "mom, what is the difference between chocobo's and filolial's," she starts thinking to this question. Then Analyze activates for some reason.

"Would you like to hear the story of Chocobo's and Filolial's?"
How convienent, I whisper so quiet that not even mom hears me, "yes."
"Chocobo's and Filolial's a long time ago were the same species, but adventurers started to see that they could be riden, so they started domesticating them. The bird species was able to use magic, so those with a high aptitude for magic were used as mounts that could help adventurers fight as they were riding, those turned into Chocobo's. The rest of the bird species was considered useless until an adventurer trained it for strength instead of speed. It could pull a carriage and could go twice as long as horses, which was popular with merchants and nobles. The only real difference was that one evolved so it could use magic better, and the other so it could pull a carriage. The reason they hate each other is because of the chocobo's cheeky nature, they usually make fun of filolial's for copying the human ways and making a hierarchy as well as their superiority complex."
By the time I am done reading it, satisfied with the answer, mom replies to my question in a whisper, "they get fat."
I burst out laughing, confusing the filolials around us, "What's the matter with your son."
"He is just hungry and bored," Mom replies.
"Tell him to wait, we'll get him some meat when we get there, it won't be a fair fight if he's hungry," my mouth starts drooling when I heard her say that. I have been surviving on fl-suvunkta's this entire time, and I couldn't wait to eat a big juicy steak, or maybe some pork ribs, I could probably eat an entire chicken.
Mom whispers again, "What the heck was that for, you almost got us killed."
"I'm sorry, it is just my analysis skill gave me an intelligent answer, and you just follow up with 'they get fat,' I couldn't contain myself."
"You can understand what it means?"
"You can't?"
"Well I'm sorry my intelligence is so average that I can't understand something that takes 175 intelligence to just be able to get," she says in a mocking voice.
"What does that mean?"
"The more Intelligence you have, the better your Analysis skill responds to you, even answering common questions, but Analysis is something that not everybody understands, everybody gets it, but not everybody can understand the words it says."
So what I got from that was, having high intelligence helps the analysis skill, however it uses concepts from my previous world to explain, so nobody can understand it.
"When we get to the sacred duel, you will get a text box that asks you if you want it to says your chances of winning, when it asks say no because if one person says no then it won't be shown to the other person."
"Why?"
"Because if your stats are as high if you say they are then your chances will be high, alerting them that you aren't a normal child."
"Won't they just kill us when we win."
"No, because they will die if they dishonor the sacred duel."
"Oh, so it's something that they have to do something if we win, and we have to do something if they win."
"Exactly."
We started passing a lake and then an huge blue alligator/crocodile (I can never tell the difference) jumped out of the water and started quickly crawling to us.
"Water dragon," the filolial yelled falling out of formation out of fear. So alligators/crocodiles are known as water dragons, I guess that makes sense.
Mom drops me and runs to the water dragon, it tries to snap at her, but she slams her foot against the top of its snout. She grabs it with her claws and spins it around her until she lets it go and it flies into the water.
"It was only a low tier dragon, no reason to worry about anything," She says as it is coming back.
"Mom watch out," I yell, she then jumps, it jumps after her.
She then shoots a huge fireball out of her mouth and the water dragon eats it, then its insides explode.
I gain my bearings and then look around me, the filolials are all standing wide-beaked staring at the dead water dragon. I run to mother, "why didn't you tell me you were so strong, you could have possibly won against all of the filolials."
She looks proud and then says "You never asked, and stone magic is strong against fire, I would have had a hard time against it and I needed to protect you."
I look at my mother in a new light then I hear, "Watch out, it's not dead!"
I turn around and see it rushing me, I activate Mind Acceleration, but it got to close, so I couldn't dodge, so I decide to claw its eye and run in its blind spot.
I barely escape and it collapses, bleeding out of the mouth, probably damage from mom's fireball, and then I get this notification...
"You have killed adolescent low tier water dragon LVL 15 Entity #792835720249329859" "Gained 381 EXP, Wild Infant Chocobo is now LVL 5" "Activate Copy Entity Number LVL 1"
I smile and whisper, "Yes."
"Activated Copy Entity Number LVL 1" " Gained 139 strength, Skill: Crushing Teeth LVL 1" "Changing skill to fit race... Changed to Crushing beak LVL 1"
"What's Crushing Beak," I ask quietly.
"Crushing Beak LVL 1: Beak is able to pierce even through tough scales. (LVL 1 able to crush monsters with less than 500 DEF, LVL 5 Able to crunch monsters with less than 2000 Def, LVL 10 Evolves into Dragons Beak LVL 1."

The Blood Queen
The rain fell from the sky with ferocity and smashed into the pavement filling the air with the sound of a stampede. The noise was deafening as I struggled to stand up. The blood from my wound was covering the ground beneath me and I covered it with my hand as I pushed off the pavement. On my feet now I struggled to step towards the grass. Through the howling wind and pounding raindrops I could hear what sounded like a chant, calling me and drawing me towards the cliffs edge. "Vienna, my Queen, my blood Queen" I started to move my feet faster until I could run towards the edge. Only when I was at the edge did I turn and look back one last time at the castle behind me. I could see him standing on the balcony, he was screaming my name. I could just hear it over the rain. I unclipped my red cape and whispered goodbye to him. As he jumped off the balcony to run towards me I leaned backwards and let my body fall with the rushing water to the river far down below. I carried her whispers with me to the dark edge until they vanished.
