“All the gold bullions have been loaded up, Honourable Carstein.” Old Man Frost bowed. The pitiful old man has found a place as Lawrence’s assistant after his granddaughter, Marie, not knowing the workings of the world, had walked up to Lawrence and asked, “Can you give grandpa a job? Grandpa has a bad back, so he cannot do many things.”

And the soft-hearted Lawrence recalled how his father who had a bad back, was unable to do many jobs, as much as he was willing to. The result?

Old Man Frost was now working as Lawrence’s assistant, taking note of Lawrence’s schedule and reminding Lawrence on things that he had forgotten to do. As a former office drone, Lawrence was used to tight schedules on marketing projects, but…

Not when you are overpowered and have the ability to do the things you could only imagine in a good game of Dungeons and Dragons.

Lawrence noted that a lot of the herbs he owned were impossible to harvest in the condition that he possessed them. In response, he had met Eveline Evergarden one day.

“Eveline, is it possible for you to design the gardens of gardens?”

“What do you mean by that?” Eveline asked, taking off her glasses momentarily and crossing her legs, looking up at Lawrence Carstein.

Lawrence scratched his chin before opening his mouth.

“I want to grow a garden enhanced by magic that the world shall rarely find ever again. It shall be a place where a fountain stands in the middle, filled with honey water and trees that could quench any thirst and herbs that can cure any disease. It shall be a place for all to enjoy,” Lawrence said and Eveline frowned.

“Y… Your description hardly counts as a brief… But I’ll come up with something,” Eveline said, her hand making a shooing gesture and Lawrence quickly got out of her office.

“Frost, please make sure that uh, Miss Evergarden follows up on this,” Lawrence said and Old Man Frost nodded, taking note of what Lawrence just said. Old Man Frost had apparently worked as a scribe before and this meant that he could read, which was a huge boon in this world.

With that taken care of, Lawrence got onto the horse easily due to his high Animal Handling skill. It was a brown stallion that Jacob and Craig had gotten for Lawrence and was saddled with heavy armour.

This day, the men escorting the wagons of gold shall be the Owl Cataphracts or some have taken to calling the Owl Cavalry.

Old Man Frost was clad in leather armour and Marie was tearfully waving goodbye. On this trip, 100 Owl Cavalry will be following, along with 50 Owl Shields and another 50 Owl Bowmen. Behind were Craig and Jacob following behind.

Roland was left behind to hold down the day to day operations of Tears, which was increasingly encroaching on Black Bay Village’s land. Therefore, he was working on a plan for a merger.

Quenya, on the other hand, has picked up the running of the Guardian’s Bakery.

Craig’s tannery has also begun producing leather goods of artisan quality, which greatly pleased Lawrence who has always loved leather shoes in his own world.

“Manufacturing… Service… All that is left is… Education.” Lawrence mumbled to himself as the convoy made its way slowly forward.

“I say, Lawrence, I have never seen a city more alive than Tears. What you have done in such a short time here… I cannot imagine this nation called Singapore that you come from,” Craig said, nudging his horse beside Lawrence.

“Oh yeah… I miss the food there…” Lawrence said, involuntarily swallowing his saliva as he thought of chicken rice and the fish head curry he always loved.

“Tell me, when we get back, can you make that thing you called a Cheese Pizza for my wife? Our anniversary is coming soon,” Craig asked and a smile spread across Lawrence’s face.

“I’m going to assume you have already extorted Quenya to a free cake, and now a pizza? How am I going to run a business this way!” Lawrence said jokingly as he nodded.

“Ahaha… Now that we’re earning more, the missus is asking for more, of course, through no fault of hers…” Craig stammered and Lawrence nodded, patting him on the shoulder.

“All is in order, Honourable Carstein,” Longines said as he rode his horse over and reported.

“How are the men’s training going? Please, ride with us.” Lawrence said and the three rode alongside the convoy.

“They are well-trained milord. Milord, if it is possible, do you mind if we spar one day?” Longines asked, a hint of excitement in his voice and Lawrence laughed, shrugging.

Lawrence was afraid that if they sparred using auto combat, Lawrence would automatically kill Longines or anyone who wanted the experience. Therefore, this meant that he had to practice in secret in the basement.

What he would do is to turn on auto combat against a fighting dummy and then cast a minor illusion of what he had done so as to copy what the artificial intelligence combat system had performed earlier.

Right now, he only memorized certain forms and he was pretty sure that if he had tried swinging a sword around without the combat AI, Longines would knock him down in moments.

With that said, Lawrence wondered how the HP bar worked in all due honesty. Lawrence had suffered paper cuts and the likes while going through documents before but not a dent was created in his HP bar. Not even the deduction of one.

Maybe it takes a real weapon?
