《Amongst the Stars》Chapter 17

All along the walls missile launchers began to move. The missile launchers have a round base, the main support column pivots along the base. On both sides of the column are the the containers that house the missiles, giant rectangles. Each rectangle has eight holes, sixteen total per launcher. At this very second, a total of eighty-four such launchers are pointed towards the city.
“B8! what's the status on the ship how close are you to converting everything?”
“Master, I have completed ? of the shadow iron droids, totaling eight million. The thirty million gold bots are still the same, and I have made another twenty-five million steel bots. The study of propulsion systems are ¼ through but I have ? of the hover systems analyzed as the sample size was bigger.”
“Dam, we needed more time...more time” Leviathan closes his eyes. The sound of gunfire, soldiers screaming orders, and explosions fill his ears. Leviathan takes a moment to clear his thoughts before opening his eyes. Scanning the surroundings he can see the wall has increased in height by a foot and a half not enough, we won't be able to use this as a base
“B8 how many bots were you able to make here?”
“Master, using the cars I was able to make an extra fifty million steel bots, due to the fact steel bots can make bots a lot faster than gold bots, and I didn't have to focus on making shadow iron bots here. So in total we have sixty-two million bots here.”
“It will have to do….fire the rockets”
At Leviathans orders, all eighty-four launchers begin releasing their payload towards different parts of the city. Missiles fly through the air and collide with the skyscrapers, causing more internal explosions in the buildings. Explosions pave the street, smoke clouds raising as high as the eye can see. The sounds of screams are like buzzing mosquitoes to the backdrop of explosions. Buildings collapse, causing tides of smoke and debris to wash over the streets like a tsunami. Fires rage as one thousand three hundred and forty-four missiles paint the city in death.
Leviathan closes his eyes, listening to the sound of death. While no missle hits the car lot, the fallout of smoke, debris, and ash washes over his body.
Five minutes, five minutes to fire all the missiles. The total death count, unknown.
It’s just a game, just a game. Leviathan trembles a bit, as he imagines all the lives lost. As he opens his eyes, they appear to be a shade darker than normal. There is no turning back now, If there is a god, forgive me, for I have sinned.
Taking a breath he walks back into the building. Picking up the controller to the hover disk, he shoves it in the sleeve of his body suit. Leviathan walks into the office and grabs the coin counting machine, and puts it on the Hover disk and leaves the building, hover disk in tow.
“B8 reform the armor” at his command bots begin to swarm his body, in a few seconds they reform the armor. Seeing all the bots still remaining, he ponders for a few seconds. “B8 use the remaining bots to turn into something optimal for combat”
Receiving the order fifty million bots begin to swarm each other. after a few seconds B8 took the form of Leviathans armor. The only difference is B8 had a total of six arms, a think long tail that extended around twelve feet, and its body was covered in small silver balls. While Leviathan stood at 5’10’’ B8 was 8’ tall.

“Master, I am ready”
Looking the giant B8 up and down for a second Leviathan nods “Lets go, this whole city shall become your factory. First we need to clean up the soldiers”
Leviathan and B8 step out onto the street, and as soon as he does he's pelted by the emotions from everyone within 100ft. Fear, anger, confusion, and crushing sorrow all flow into him at the same time, causing his already deteriorating mental state to break further.
“B8 kill everything within 100ft of me!”
“Master, as you command” B8 begins to move, its tail sweeps through the buildings to the front, arms stretch out and plunge into debris, the balls on its body open sending needles flying in different directions. With every move it makes, a life is lost.
Every step Leviathan takes, an emotion disappears. One step Anger is gone, Two steps fear is gone, three steps sorrow is gone, four steps compassion. Every step he takes his disposition becomes colder and lonelier. Every step he takes his eyes become redder.
Moving forward he's bombarded with an emotion stronger than any other, an emotion he almost lost.
Turning his head he sees a little girl, around six or seven years old with long blonde hair. Her body is covered in black ash, her fingers bleed as she digs in the stone debris of a collapsed building. The girl is radiating hope, a hope so strong Leviathan can't focus on anything else.
Mom, dad, I will save you! You can't leave me!
Seeing the girl dig in the debris, Leviathan is reminded of himself, four years ago. They were on their way out to celebrate, he had just gotten accepted into the Olympics. It was a rare moment that they could all be together. The light turned green and they went, but a SUV ran a red light. The SUV plowed into their car, and as he wasn't wearing a seatbelts like normal, he was thrown out the window. A large shard of glass severed his spinal cord, he was lucky to still be alive. But that didn't stop him from crawling back towards the car, leaving a trail of blood, to try and save his parents. Doctors told him later that if he stayed still, there was a chance they could have fixed his spine. He never regretted it, because he had hope, hope that he could save them.
Seeing the little girl he was reminded of himself, and in the next second a silver hand was stretching for her neak.
“STOP!”
The silver hand stops inches from the girls neck.
What?? The little girl finally notices the silver men behind her. “Can you help me!?! My mommy and daddy are trapped!” the girl looks at them with pleading eyes.
Leviathan walks closer to the little girl and looks where she was digging, and gets nothing. Looking at the desperation on her face, he's reminded why he's here. His emotions begin to come under control as he looks at the girl, and his eyes return to normal.
“Master, what are your orders?” B8 whispers in his ear.
Speaking softly “Kill all the soldiers as planned when you see them, but there's no need to bother the civilians unless they attack first.”
Walking towards the little girl Leviathan drops to a knee, to get on her level. “I'm sorry, but your parents are gone" shaking his head he tries to explain to her “They're no longer with us.”

The girls eyes begin to tremble, tears well in her eyes, her body shakes.
Leviathan feels the hope beginning to fade, slowly replaced by sorrow. Feeling the extreme shift in emotions, Leviathan reaches out his hand.
“B8, retract the armor on my hand" the silver armor on his hand recedes, revealing a blue hand.
Leviathan slowly places his hand on the girls head “Its ok, its ok. You'll be ok”
Feeling the hand on her head, and the spoken words, causes the dam to break. Tears stream down her face “Waaaaaah! Waaaaaaaah" the girl begins to wail.
As if drawn by the crying girl, soldiers begin to move down the street. Picking the girl up he moves towards the hover disk.
The girl cries on his vest as he sits on the disk. Leviathan looks towards the giant B8, even though he can talk to the suit, talking to something is far more familiar.
“B8 I'm going back, you sweep the city. I need to get my powers under control before I do anything else.”
Leviathan heads back for the car lot, leaving the Asura looking B8 to face the approaching soldiers.
Ten soldiers ran forward, pointed their guns at B8.
“Which camp are you from! Identity yourself!”
B8 turns towards the men, not bothering to reply. In the next second B8 charges forward like a flying arrow, its six arms spread, ready to attack.
The soldiers open fire, a sea of bullets rush towards B8, crashing upon him like a wave. Every time a bullet hits small bots would fall off, crushed. But new bots would move in to take their place. B8 stores the bullets in its body for later use, and continues to move forward unhindered.
Finally the first click of an empty rifle sounds. The soldier moves to reload, but it's too late.
B8 finally arrives within striking range, bashing its tail into the ground it launches its body into the air.
“Pitiful humans, your death has been ordered, so die for me”
With its palms facing down, the bots making up its body begin to stir. B8's height noticeable decreases, but its arms become thicker. As it falls it begins to launch palm strikes as if falling meteorites, six arms of death.
Palms connect with the soldiers faces, as if pressing clay. As the palm retracts a torrent of blood follows, gushing forward like a geyser. With their skulls destroyed six soldiers instantly die.
Landing in the middle of the remaining four soldiers B8’s tail swings as fast as lightning, instantly bisecting two. As a blunt object was used to cut, blood and guts cover the streets as their torsos are launched into the distance.
At the same time the tail swings, the balls on its body burst open sending metallic needs flying towards the other two men. Unable to dodge they are impaled by hundreds of needles. Seeing this B8 begins to walk away, to clear the city.
The two men drop to the ground screaming in pain as the needles puncture their skin. As they wonder why the silver man is walking away, the needles begin to disappear. Hundreds of bots begin to eat them alive from the inside out. As they burst from the bodies, they look for a place to repopulate.
Leviathan brings the crying girl back into the car lot building, and places her on the couch.
The girl immediately grabs a pillow and cries into it.
“Little girl don't cry, be good" he continues to rub the girls head. The girls thoughts are in complete disarray; her emotions shift between sorrow, fear, guilt, scared, lost, and worthless.
As he tries to comfort the girl, he hears voices in the distance.
“Is this where their signals were lost?”
“Yea, this is the last place they reported to, let's check it out”
Looking out the window he sees two soldiers entering the lot.
Looking at the crying girl for a moment, he makes a decision.
“B8 remove the armor and protect the girl, form a cocoon around her. Also use the security robots to charge the men when I open the door.”
The silver armor leaves his body and moves to protect the girl, seeing this Leviathan walks to the door.
What am I even doing...I'm no hero. Leviathan takes a deep breath But for some reason, I feel as if, If I don't protect this girl, I'll lose something important
Steeling his resolve, Leviathan opens the door.
As the door opens Leviathan expands the psi field to the maximum range, and at the same time the security robots begin to charge.
What?
The enemies??
BEHIND YOU!!!
screaming into their heads with all his might, Leviathan rushes out the door. His eyes scan the ground, looking for the rifles from the previous killed soldiers.
Behind??
An ambush!
The soldiers, startled, turn their head slightly to look behind them. Giving Leviathan enough time to reach the gun.
Seeing nothing behind them they face the front, guns raised.
There's nothing?
Finally, they see the blue man, the Al’muthar.
“PSION!! OPEN FIRE”
The soldiers begin firing, B8 tries to block with the robots as much as possible, but they drop like flies. Bullet zoom towards Leviathan hitting the building behind him.
Seeing this he furrows his brows before firing at the two men, but misses his shots.
A bullet impacts his vest, causing the power of the bullet to lessen. As it reaches the body suit the impact is further dispersed, preventing the bullet from penetrating, but a hammering pressure is still transmitted.

The Rocky Shore
This is a LitRPG series. Every story you read here takes place in the same virtual world, with the same rules and limitations. Characters will travel, explore vast and dangerous realms, overcome obstacles, meet one another, enter into conflicts with one another, forge alliances, make horrible mistakes, and occasionally just die. A technological singularity has been achieved, and humanity has been trapped in a virtual world by a super-intelligent, self-improving artificial intelligence. This program is not malicious at all. In fact, it desires nothing except the happiness and fulfillment of every human it has copied into itself. If its decisions seem strange to you, that's only because its reasoning is far beyond ours. It recognizes that humans cannot be happy without enemies to overcome and goals to achieve, as well as the possibility of failure and death. The world it has created may be heaven or hell, depending on the free choices of the people it contains. The non-player characters who live in this realm have no idea that they are part of a vast computer system. They seem real enough, but there is no way to tell if they are truly self-aware. Even the system that created them isn't certain. This is world in which all the things that humans are used to dealing with in the abstract: skills, talents, knowledge, reputation, social status, morality, even love, exist as readable statistics that players can see and interact with objectively. This has many curious and complex effects on how people perceive themselves and the world around them. A few quick notes on the system: -Death is permanent -The system interface can only be accessed at certain locations. -Magic of diverse kinds is available and useful, but is not a good substitute for skills, physicallity, or mental prowess. Non-magical characters are common and competitive. -There is no inventory system. Characters must physically carry everything they wish to have on their person. -Healing is slow and difficult. Magical Healing is all but unheard of. Protagonists: Raymond Garrison- A man in his late twenties who used to work as a forklift operator in Idaho. His path leads him to work as a mercenary, protecting a small community of humans and goblins from the Seelie Fae who wish to exterminate them. Patricia Chandler- A elderly British woman who arrives in this new world with her grandson Kyle and her granddaughter Elizabeth. Never having dealt with rpg game mechanics before, she is in for a rough time, but she is determined to keep her grandkids alive in a world full of danger and evil. Jamil Mesbah- An Egyptian woman who once worked as a technical writer. Her path leads into a vast and hostile forest, where she must master both her magical abilities and her survival skills in order to succeed. Enjoy your travels, friends.

Bleached Nightmare
500 years into the future, technological progress has stagnated. Wracked by a series of problems like climate change, lack of resources and the innate human lust for war, the geopolitical landscape of planet Earth is radically different, and quality of life is far from what it was in the past. While technical development and research into realistically feasible space travel has made leaps and bounds, this has come at the cost of a world that is reeling from centuries of technical stagnation in other aspects of life. The establishment of a mining colony on Mars has led to the discovery of a new, rare material called sarinium; though it is extremely tensile and durable, it has a very low melting point. The discovery of this metal leads to large mechanical infantry- dubbed 'Spirit Striders', they are six to ten meters tall and as famed for the pride they provide a nation as they are a lethally mobile heavy weapons platform. The story follows the character of Marilin, who must both figure the enigma that is her past, and what this means for her allegiances in the future. Despite her genetically physical frailty, she seeks to gain power through a vessel that will channel her wish to change the world- the Spirit Strider. --- I hope you all enjoy my work. This is a story that I began writing over four years ago in my beginning years of high school, and have cast aside unfinished in the past two years. Though it is not up to my current standards, I hope you all may find some enjoyment in it. Happy reading.
