《Amongst the Stars》Chapter 9

After waiting for nearly two hours his Psi is fully recharged. Looking down the stairs, towards the black entrance Leviathan stretches out his hand “go” focusing he wills his pour to pour out of him. Traveling in a straight line if finally reaches the 300ft radius of his max ranged area scan, but by utilizing his power in a line its able to surpass it.
Traveling the full 800 or so feet to the entranceway the psionic energy gets ready to cross the threshold, but is blocked by a black curtin. A strange energy, the same feeling that traveled through his hand, blocks his Psi from exiting the room. After trying to force through for a moment his Psi finally empties.

“Hmm” scratching his chen Leviathan looks over his shoulder at the box “If my theory is correct, this is an inheritance ment for a machine. If I didn't have this ring I would probably be dead" glancing around the room for a moment a pensive look appears on his face “The question though is how did this get here, and why. Is it for a random robot to find or cyborg players? If it's not meant to be for cyborg players, then robot players? But that means the machine empire was from another galaxy, because machine wasn't a choice for me to pick from” looking down at his right hand with a smile B8 hurry up so I don't go crazy talking to myself in this ruin.
Opening his eyes wide in realization Leviathan jaw drops open “That has to be it, a hidden piece! Maybe this isn't a random forest, but I was put here because I’m a cabin player. If I didn't find this place it would just be my bad luck and Id never know. But what if all cabin players, or all players in general start near something that could give them a boon if they have the abilities to seize it"
A sinister smile begins to form on his face “Muhahaha! Who would be crazy enough to attack a highly defensive compound armed with soldiers at the begging of the game?” the smile rapidly fades from his face “that's right….who would do that. If I waited even another hour or so they would have discovered this place themselves, and even with the risk of exposing themselves they would have notified the prince about the discovery of a ruin” an extremely ugly look appears on his face.
“I didn't even know this place was here and it already tried to kill me” Looking around for a moment he calms down “Its funny how fast your eyes adjust to the darkness, I guess I better get started now that I have some time”
Adjusting his body he walks over to the stairs, looking down he begins to rapidly descend. as he gets to the bottom instead of trying to go through the dark entrance he turns around, does ten squats. After the squats he begins to jump up the stairs in a zigzag pattern, one foot to the other. At the top of the stairs he does more squats before repeating the process.

Forty minutes later, at the top of the stairs leviathan collapses on the ground breathing heavily. A few breaths later a series of information appears before him.

“Fuck man, it's like training all over again. It's not even rewarding compared to intelligence and many times harder to level” a smile on his face as he looks at his wrapped right hand “Even with you out of it right now, you still help me out, I hate doing pushups” crossing his arms over his chest he waits.
An hour and a half later he sits up, looking at the dark entrance way. Raising his hand he tries to penetrate the entranceway again, but fails.

“Even when I fail to accomplish my task, I still gain more than moving my body for so long” shaking his head he returns to his feet. “This is such a cheat” Taking one last breath he descends the stairs again. As he begins the exercise his eyes open a little wider “Hmm, it's a little easier” Clenching his left fist he moves a little faster.
After a full hour of exercise Leviathan once again collapses to the ground

Breathing heavily on the ground, sweat covering his face, he feels a slight vibration in his right hand. Sitting up as fast as possible he begins to unwrap his hand, thinking that meaby the sweat or movement made the ring lose contact with the sphear. Unwrapping his hand the ball comes into view, still maintaining contact with the ring. Looking at it Leviathan tilts his head “Was I mistaken?” as words flow out of his mouth the sphear vibrates again. Like dropping a stone in still water the sphear begins to ripple, moving like no solid should. After a few seconds the sphear begins to morph and move, like lumps underneath the skin trying to escape. Looking at the sphear in his hand Leviathan hesitates for a moment, lifting his left hand he pokes the sphear. As his finger nears the ball the surface of the sphere begins to retract, preventing the finger from making contact, and at the same time the ball shatters, flowing through his fingers like sand. Looking at the black sand fall to the ground Leviathans eyes go wide “Oh shit what did I do?”
Dropping to his knees he tries to collect the sand, but before he can the black particles move to converge with each other. Combining together it starts to take shape, a swarm of black mass building on top of each other, eventually forming the outline of a humanoid figure.
Looking at the small humanoid figure standing at half a foot tall Leviathans eyes begin to narrow “B8 is that you?”
The small figure looks towards Leviathan, as its face has no features it only looks like a small oval. The entire body vibrates as it speaks “Master, it is I”
“Great! How do you feel? Is anything different? Guess I was spaced out longer than I thought”

“Master, the best way to describe it is I have evolved. My entire body is made up of individual Nano machines, as long as one survives I shall not be destroyed. These bots are made up of the metal Abysnic, when a black hole has swallowed its entire galaxy a fist size stone will be produced. To make the amount Nano machines I am currently would require over ten stones. It makes me wonder how strong the Machine Empire was, and who wiped them out.”
Looking at the tiny B8 Leviathan reaches out and picks it up. Returning to his feet he holds B8 in his palm, looking it up and down a smile forms on his face, status.

“My god, B8 your intelligence rose so much? and why did your other stats disappear?”
“Master, My stats can no longer be quantified, as my form is ever changing. Intelligence for me only indicates the number of bots I am currently controlling, one intelligence is equal to ten-thousand bots”
Looking at B8 in his palm “Does that mean I’m holding millions of bots? why is it so light? and can you make more?”
“Master, I do not understand your confusion, from the time you picked up the sphear you were holding millions of bots so nothing has changed. In reality the reason you are able to hold so many is because Abysnic is a material that defies gravity, I can freely shift my weight but the bots can only support so much. When the Machine Emperor was Fleeing he ejected half its core planting them on the pursuing ships. When releasing control of the gravity affect, the bots will collapse into nothingness, taking a large chunk of anything near them with it. But it comes with a price that even the Emperor did not know, when the bots collapse it opens a path to the AI’s conscience, slowly draining it away. That is how the Emperor died, but before he left he reached this backwater planet and set up this place leaving behind all his knowledge on Nanobots.”
“Hmm, so that's what Nanotechnology is? the Machine emperors knowledge on Nanobots...I guess that was all he could save. So what do you need to make more bots?”
“Master, you don't have to worry, because the Emperor foresaw this. When he arrived here he converted his ship into these four golder pillars, In these pillars are enough materials to make millions of bots. The Emperor did us a great favor, to put it in perspective one mining droid has enough material to make a hundred or so bot.
“He? the Emperor was a man? does a AI have a gender?”
“Master, the Emperor was very old, to make his core alone would require the death of over twenty galaxys. His body was composed of billions of Nanobots, with that much processing power he eventually developed emotions”
“Why do you keep calling what you are now the core? aren't you just made up of Nanobots?”
“Master, these bots are different. As long as one remains this body can be rebuilt over time, but if all are gone the other bots will no longer function. Even though they are the hardest metal known to the Empire at the time, they still chose to encase them in layers of other bots, I guess you can say they are like the brain.”
“Ok Good, can you start making the bots now? how long will it take?”
“Master, I can start now, and since the pillars were prepared for this I won't have to process the metal much, so I can finish it in a day.”
“Ok, go”
Jumping from his hand B8 drifts down to the ground, as it walks past the laser pistol it looks back towards Leviathan “Master, are you going to use this pistol?”
Raising his brows he looks at the half foot B8 “Do you need it?”
“Master, I should be able to incorporate the laser into my body”
“Sweet, yea, go for it”
B8 reaches the bottom of the first golden pillar, while looking up its entire body broke down into the back sand. Moving up the pillar like millions of tiny ants in reaches the top, Forming into a ring it begins to circle around the pillar. Looking at it you can see the top of the pillar begin to reduce, and as it does specks of gold are added into the sea of black.
Looking at B8 work Leviathan sits back down to continue resting. watching the bots devour the pillar like a swarm of locust he scratches his chin, an entire empire made of robots, I wonder how rare AI are.
“Well, I’m pretty energized from B8’s return so I may as well get started” returning to his feet he begins to exercise on the stairs again, but this time when he gets to the top instead of ten squats he does ten push ups.
After moving around for an hour Leviathan crawls to the top of the stairs.

Waiting for a few minutes his Psi finally empties.
