Chapter 49- Goblin Camp
Morpheus began to ease up on being ignorant to Big Sam, but he still kept an eye open for anything unusual. He did notice how Big Sam was always talking to him but Morpheus was new to the guild.
“Ambush!” An elf shouted from the trees above.
Multiple grey skinned goblins dropped down with arrows in their heads.
“They know we’re here! Sam! Get in front!”
Big Sam jumped over the whole group at an incomprehensible speed. His belly enlarged ten-fold creating a large flabby shield as he landed in front of Theodore.
A blast of fire magic sprouted towards Big Sam but his belly absorbed it.
“Shaman!” Another elf shouted.
“Tiger in front! Wolf behind!”
Morpheus drew his axe and jumped behind the main group. Hammer brandished a metal guitar covered in spikes.
“Oh my dear goblins! Your time has come!” Hammer shouted in song.
Arrows flew to both groups and hammer strung his guitar creating a barrier. It was a deep sound, like he was about to play at a metal concert.
“Keep formation!”
The group began to run towards the main camp, arrows flew at them but hammers sound barriers kept them safe.
Morpheus could sense twenty grey goblins with Arcane Pulse but he couldn’t see them with his eyes. They would be at a clear disadvantage in the forest.
You have levelled up Arcane Pulse Level (18)
“We’re going to the main camp! We’ll split formation when we get there.”
“I!” The two groups shouted back.
They ran towards the camp, Big Sam led the way with his stomach shield in front.
The main camp came into Morpheus's view, he could see over twenty huts. Some grey goblins were asleep, some were waking up and others had their bows and daggers drawn.
“Split formation! Sam get to your group!”
Sam jumped into the air, his fat moving just behind him. He landed next to the hammer and began running with the Wolf group.
“Shaman is behind!” An elf shouted from the trees.
Morpheus activated Spartans Ethos and looked behind him.
(Goblin, Mage, Level 143)
“One forty three!” Morpheus shouted.
“Switch!” Theodore shouted.
Theodores group dispersed around the Wolf group and faced the shaman, multiple grey goblins surrounded him.
“Concentrate on the camp! We’ll deal with the shaman!”
Morpheus lunged with Blood Axe of the War Orc in hand, aiming for a goblin coming out of a hut.
The small goblin dodged with ease around his blade and sliced Morpheus’s tendons on his ankle.
Morpheus winced in pain but healed it quickly. He teleported behind the grey goblin and put him in a headlock.
The grey goblin began to stab Morpheus in his arm, he was just wearing a black shirt so it tore right through. With an arm around the goblins neck, Morpheus brought his hand across its face and pulled his arm back; snapping its neck.
Morpheus spotted another goblin trying to run away, it looked like a female. He jumped forward, weakening the space around him. The young chimera sliced the female goblin in half without hesitation. He was getting an itch on the back of his head, pushing him to kill everything around him.

He bared his teeth and hissed, he couldn’t help it.
The grey goblins were extremely quick and Morpheus struggled to hit them. They used their daggers to cut his ligaments, trying to incapacitate him.
It was a rather chaotic scene. The higher level group Tiger faced off against the shaman and the ambush team, while Morpheus’s team was slaughtering the rest of the camp. Even the children and female goblins weren’t spared. He had seen how they raped the high elf and they were all responsible.
Morpheus’s eyes glared red with fury as the goblins weaved in between his legs. He was getting frustrated with their movements.
He put his axe in his pouch and pulled out Dagger of Black. He began to grab the goblins and slit their throats. Their daggers couldn’t penetrate far enough into his body to do enough damage. It was truly an unfair matchup for the grey skinned goblins goblins.
Hammer smashed a goblin's head with his metal guitar and brain anger splattered on the ground.
“Put that toned ass to use!” Hammer shouted in his direction.
Morpheus teleported next to him and punched him in the face. Blood poured from Hammer’s nose and a wicked smile grew on his face.
“You get one punch for every goblin you kill!” He shouted at him.
Hammer strung his guitar, releasing a sound shockwave that knocked a few goblins back.
“Incoming!” Big Sam shouted.
The large dagi jumped in front of the two, his stomach expanding as a deflected black fire bolt hit him.
“That was a hot one.” Big Sam said.
“How are they holding up?” Morpheus asked as he chucked a dead goblin to the side.
“Pretty bad, the shaman has a barrier of death weakness.”
“I want to try something. Hammer, good luck!” Morpheus shouted.
The goblin camp was slowly losing its population, and the Wolf group began to scour the tents looking for survivors. Terra’s Children were picking off the fleeing goblins, they seemed even more furious than Morpheus.
The young chimera ran back to where the Tiger group was. He found them exchanging attacks with the shaman and its bodyguards. Theodore had just knocked off a grey goblins head with his blunt axe.
“Let me get close to him!” He shouted behind Theodore.
“Careful boy! He’s got a death barrier. We already lost one.”
Morpheus nodded and ran into the forest behind the shaman. It’s bodyguards began to shoot arrows at him but he just took the body shots. He pulled the arrows out and was finally in teleporting distance.
You have entered a sphere of Life Draining.
He could feel his cells aging, it was uncomfortable.
He used Arcane Blink to get a few metres away from the shaman and activated Terrify. The space weakened around him and he dashed away before a death magic pulse hit him.
The shaman stopped for a moment, staring into nothing.
“Attack!” Screamed Theodore.
Fire balls and vines flew towards the shaman, as they were about to hit him a powerful shockwave was emitted. Morpheus and the Tiger group flew backwards, the young chimera’s head fell into a rock, knocking him out.

Theodore groaned as he got up. He quickly threw Morpheus over his strong shoulders.
The shaman began screaming and pulses of death magic were now constantly being released. It seemed Morpheus’s skill had sent the shaman into a complete frenzy.
The shaman began releasing fireballs as well, but they were now more powerful and had a blue tinge.
“Back off!” Theodore screamed.
The group dispersed and ran towards the camp to join up with the Wolf group.
“Hammer! I need you!” Theodore shouted.
“Of course, my lovely dwarf!” Hammer shouted back.
He skipped in front of Theodore and braced his feet. The eccentric bard took a deep breath.
“Hurry up you queer fuck!”
Hammer turned around him to him, the shaman was getting closer to them still in a frenzied state.
“I prefer the term eccentric.” He calmly said amidst the chaos.
“Hammer!”
“Yes, yes.”
Hammer lifted his hand up above his head and brought it down in his guitar. He began strumming it fast, powerful sound waves followed. They matched the intensity of the shaman's waves and they were now at a standoff.
Morpheus opened his eyes to a decapitated grey goblin beneath him. He was still on the dwarfs shoulder, he kicked himself off; still slightly dizzy. A merfolk grabbed his shoulder and held him upright.
“What happened?” Morpheus asked, still with stars in his eyes
“You sent the fucker into divine madness ye fool!” The dwarf replied.
He looked towards the amazing standoff between an eccentric masochist and a frenzied shaman.
An elf ran up next to Theodore.
“All stragglers and his bodyguards are down.” The elf said.
“Good, any fucking clue at how to deal with this fucker?” Theodore asked with a mix of realism and sarcasm.
“Our arrows are deflected.” The elf said.
“No shit.”
“How about we just let him do his thing, till he runs out of mana.” Morpheus suggested while rubbing the back of his head.
“Got a point, might be a passive skill though” Theodore replied, rubbing his beard.
“By Hercules! I can’t hold this handsome goblin any longer!” Hammer shouted.
“You fucking better!” Theodore shouted back.
Big Sam waddled over to the two groups that were still hiding behind Hammer.
“We found six more girls, three with their necks slit.”
“I don’t give a fuck about them at the moment.”
Big Sam looked towards the hammer strumming his metal guitar.
“Hammer! For every second longer you’ll get a punch from jack!”
“I didn’t agree to that.” Morpheus said. His senses had suddenly come back to him.
“Fuck it, go with jacks plan. Rest of you grab the girls and run back to the first camp. Dead ones too.”
“I.” The two groups said.
Morpheus left them with both groups. Theodore and Terra’s children stayed behind to deal with the shaman. Hammer stopped playing much to his disappointment and ran just behind them.
A dwarf and a few merfolk as they were running began to push the rescued women back in the dagian's pouch.
“I don’t think we should of left them.” Morpheus said.
“Why? Theodore ain’t the vice-guild master for no reason.” Big Sam said.
“It's my fault thought."
“Fuck, I need a minute.” Big Sam wheezed.
Morpheus heard a loud explosion, through a gap in the trees he could see death magic being spewed into the sky.
“Fuck it! I’m going back.” Morpheus said and began to pick up his heels.
“Wait.” Big Sam said but the young chimera was out of earshot.

“Finally.” Lucifer said as he stared up at Kronos’s Keep. He had sold more information than he would have liked to.
Lucifer is a very by the book type of person, sharp features with a slim build and slicked back hair.
He strolled along the large stone bridge, whistling away with his arms behind his back. It was very early in the morning and the queue into the city was short. The sun was creeping over the mountains leaving a orange glow on the city.
“Name and business. State items ye selling” A dwarf in the booth said.
“Lucifer, I have a message for the captain.” He said, secretly revealing his scarecrow badge.
The dwarf meekly looked up.
“Right ahead sir. Do ye actually have message for the captain?” The dwarf asked him with a bushy eyebrow raised.
“No.” Lucifer firmly said and began walking away.
“Any good taverns?” Lucifer asked while leaning back.
“Night owls, north side.” The dwarf replied.
“Thank you.” Lucifer said and pinged him a copper.
The dwarf pocketed it and nodded.
Lucifer strolled through the main stone street, he loved the plain colours of Kronos’s Keep. The brilliance of its strategic layout and the beautiful stone statues made him love the city.
He walked into a bakery story on the Main Street, the smell on freshly cooked bread filled his nose.
“Is Charles in?” He asked an old lady behind the counter.
“No dear, is there someone else that could help you?” The old lady asked him.
“Perseus.” He answered.
The nice old lady smiled at him and put her hand over an orange crystal.
“He’s just round back.” The old lady said.
Lucifer nodded and walked into the Scarecrow hideout in Kronos’s Keep.

The Head That Wears The Crown
It's a tale as old as time. Boy goes to funeral. Boy gets sucked into a different world. Boy has to lead a settlement. Boy has to lead a settlement? Boy has to lead a settlement. This is a story about that settlement, and some other stuff. Maybe. Disclaimer: Not sure if it qualifies enough for a gore tag. There is a description of someone's death somewhere in this, but I don't think it is descriptive enough to justify a gore tag. Disclaimer part deux: I initially started writing this as background for another story but got so into it I just ended fleshing it out a bit. Disclaimer part tres: People love reading disclaimers don't they? It's why I've included so many. They're just for you. Disclaimer part four: I know, this is getting egregious. You're starting to find it less funny. Just wait till the twentieth disclaimer, it will start being funny again. Disclaimer part five: I'm kidding, this is the last one. I don't promise I'll read every comment or message, but I certainly welcome your feedback. Disclaimer part six: I lied, it wasn't the last one. I wrote this story without breaking it down into chapters. It just goes, that means that the chapter ends when it ends, not when there is a convenient break in the story. That means that it's very annoying for you as a reader since chapters can end mid sentence. Hah! Sucker! Disclaimer part seven: Get ready for slow updates. Who knows when this will continue. Toss it on read later and come back in fifty years. Disclaimer part eight: Cover Photo by Arthur Ogleznev on Unsplash
