All the war orcs and Morpheus bowed to Ela and left.
“Come I will show you our people, will you show your marks?” Nu asked.
“If it is kept only here.” Morpheus asked.
“By Apollo, I will tell the Elder.” Nu walked back inside to quickly tell her.
“It is done, come, let me show you.” Nu said.
Nu showed Morpheus around, he went shirtless since all the men were as well. Everyone was very respectful even without being told of his marks yet.
It seemed very peaceful to Morpheus, a simple life. The women tended to the field and the children, the men hunted and built.
“Nu, do you have any contact with human villages or cities?” Morpheus asked.
“Decades ago, a Behemoth trampled through it. We lost contact.”
“I’m sorry to hear that.”
“Don’t be young Morpheus. The weak die and the strong survive.” “Here is the training ground.”
It wasn’t much of a training ground, it was a large dirt patch with half cut trees stuck in the ground. The poor dead trees had been put through hell.
“Put your tent down here.” Nu said, pointing to a dirt patch.
He unloaded his tent with all his belongings, he stripped down into just his trousers and boots. The young chimera pulled out Pride of the War Orc which caught Nu’s attention.
“Did your teacher give you this?” Nu asked, instructing Morpheus to hand him the axe.
“Yes he received it from a dungeon.”
“This is for an Alpha War Orc, your tutor is strong.”
“Yes, he’s very scary.”
“Not scary enough, your level is weak.” Nu said, handing him the axe back.
You have levelled up Fear Resistance Level (6)
“Put the axe away, let us begin.” Nu said.
“I train with my axe though.”
“Children fight with their fists, men fight with weapons.”
‘Alright you fuck’ Morpheus thought. He put his axe down and readied his fist.
“Hit me.” Nu said.
Morpheus readied his stance, he tried to copy the boxers he had seen on Earth. He put his fists in the correction position, and bounced on his feet.
“What is this, we are not dancing chimera.” Nu said, kicking his legs out beneath him inbetween a bounce of his feet.
Morpheus landed hard on the ground.
“Tell me how then.”
“You’ll learn it yourself.” Nu said.
“Ok.” Morpheus muttered under his breath, brushing the dirt off of him.
This time Morpheus faked a kick and used Arcane Step to teleport behind him and punch Nu in the back of the head.
The punch broke his wrist, and he winced in pain as he drew it back.
“Good skill, very powerful.” Nu said while turning around. “Can you heal?”
“Yes.”
“Good, again.”
Morpheus healed his broken wrist, he cringed as his bone popped back into place.

Morpheus did the same thing as the second time, but he faked the punch, and jumped up using Taste of Talaria to kick Nu in the back of the head. He yet again broke his leg. He could never fully get used to the pain of breaking a bone.
“Chronos’s movement and space magic.” “Do you have more?”
“I have this and a hardening skill” Morpheus said and applied Spartans Essence.
“Ah, a Spartans buff. Strong warriors, very smart.”
“Have you fought them?”
Nu nodded. “When we were chained to the Empire, they forced us to crush their city.”
Morpheus sighed. “They are my ancestors.”
“I cannot apologise, we were forced.” Nu said without empathy.
“The Empire would have killed them anyway.” Morpheus said. He knew they would of fallen even without the war orcs.
“Hardening skill only levels with repetitive beatings. You will hurt enough from attacking me.”
Morpheus sighed, it was happening again.
“You have a unique flow when you move. It’s motion is fluid and it’s path strong.” Nu said.
“My Valkyrie gave me it.” Morpheus responded.
“Passive?” Nu asked
The young chimera nodded.
“We will work on Chronos’s magic, space magic and your hardening skill. Your flow skill should level up with most movement.”
‘Can he read my mind.’ Morpheus thought.
“To a point” Nu said. “I have a mentor’s sense skill chimera.”
“Great.”
“Now, let us spar.”
A few moments later he had earned a new skill.
‘Congratulations’ you have learned the skill Full Body Combat Level (1). You have used every part of your body to fight. The more you level this skill the more fluid your movements.
“You have acquired the skill.” Nu said.
Morpheus nodded.
“Let us keep going. You will earn the right to train with a weapon when you reach level ten.”
“Sounds good.” Morpheus huffed.
“Concentrate on your space skill. It is more useful than you realise Morpheus.”
He nodded and the sparring began again. The two fought continuously till the evening fell, only stopping to heal broken bones.
“Let us stop and feast, keep the beast in your little bag for now.”
Morpheus sat down, covered in blood, sweat and mud. He pulled up his notifications.

His passive skills had increased, almost matching his secondary class skills. Nu kept going on about Taste of Talaria and Morpheus began to realise he was right about it. He felt the space at his feet become more solid, yet he alter it easier.
Morpheus also wanted more titles, the only ones he knew how to get was to kill a strong enemy. He still didn’t feel comfortable facing an enemy fifty levels above his own.
Nu brought over a bucket from a stream coming out of the stone and handed it to him.
“Wash, be clean for the feast.”
He was glad he could wash all the grime on his face. He quickly put on his comfortable trousers and his cloak with his tattoos still exposed. Morpheus then followed Nu to where the people were previously roasting meat before, the young chimera began to salivate at the thought of food.
Everyone did stare at him but they weren’t mean stares in the slightest. All eyes of interest and wonder, for most of them have heard of his marks.
There were over two hundred war orcs surrounding a giant roasting mountain lion. The young chimera felt very intimidated, all the adults were easily all over eight feet tall and the children were the same height as him. A shout rang out and Ela walked into the center of the group.
“Today, we welcome Morpheus. Morpheus has gifted our village with an ancient treasure from our ancestors. Behold!”
A youngish looking war orc stepped up and lifted his arm out. Ela repeated what she had done to Nu, the white aura and a mark appeared where the cut was. The young war orc showed the notification to everyone.
A huge applause rang out, all clapping and roaring towards Morpheus.
You have levelled up Fear Resistance Level (7)
Ela raised her hands and the huge group came to silence.
“Morpheus has been marked to join Valhalla. He is Nu’s brother.”
Small grunts of chatter could be heard.
“We have been blessed, Morpheus has the mark of Isis and Hercules, the gods are watching.”
All the war orcs kneeled down like they had done before in Ela’s house. He just stood there with an awkward face.
“Please treat Morpheus as an equal, even though he is a marked, he would like to be treated like everyone else.”
A round of approving grunts followed.
“Now let us feast!” Ela finished.
Around ten women were cutting into the giant mountain lion, putting huge chunks of meat on even bigger wooden plates.
A young war orc came up to Morpheus and handed him a plate. The meat was the size of his head, he waited until someone dug in before him, just in case it was bad manners.
Many war orcs came up to him and spoke with him. The talks were about his chimeric bloodlines and his marks, which intrigued all of them, he really felt like a celebrity.
After his meal he brought pastries and bread and shared them around with the younger orcs. Their eyes lit up at the sweet taste of the pastries.
It was all about to end when an eight foot war orc strolled up to him, with his chest puffed out.
“We fight.” The war orc said.
(Brute, Level 155)
“You’re stronger than me.” Morpheus honestly said. Thankfully Fear Resistance had levelled up and he didn’t feel intimidated by him.
Nu walked up and stood between the two.
“Morpheus this is Tali, he means no harm, but wants to challenge you.”
“He would win.” He said again.
“Yes he would, he is the strongest for his age and sees you as competition for next Alpha.” “It is tradition to fight for alpha.”
Morpheus stayed silent.
Nu turned to Tali. “He will fight when his training is over. A week or more.”
Surprisingly enough Tali just punched Nu’s chest and the alpha returned it. ‘That simple’ Morpheus thought.
“Yes simple.” Nu said.
Morpheus shuddered, that was something he couldn’t get used to.
After the feast Morpheus retired to his tent and brought out his communication crystal. He could feel Reyna, Sophia and Brevairs signature, all very distinct from each other.
He focused on writing a message to Brevair in his head.
‘I’ve found a group of sentient war orcs, nice but scary bastards, Alpha is level three hundred and training me. Hope everything is ok. Morpheus.’
He willed the message into the stone and the green crystal glowed.
A few minutes later and he got a message back.
‘I am glad you are safe boy. Sophia and Reyna want to say to you that you are fucking crazy. We are the same as the day you came. The gods are with you. Brevair.’
Morpheus smiled to himself, it was nice to speak to them. He could imagine Sophia and Reyna shouting at him about befriending a level three hundred war orc and Brevair just chuckling. He switched off the light in his tent and snuggled into his shadow wolf blankets.

A King in the Clouds
Tanlar. A cruel, repulsive, and foul word. It meant untitled, officially, but it also meant ungifted, unable, unworthy, unnecessary, unhuman. It was more a curse than a term, a badge only the damned and condemned wore. To be a tanlar was to know your life, your entire being, was insignificant. Once Kaizer had resigned himself to such a fate, but those times had passed. He may have been untitled, but he was anything but untalented. He refused to scrape by at the bottom of society. Those who stood above him could sneer all they liked, but he wouldn’t suffer being stepped on for long. He’d be better, much better. But of course he would be. ‘Fate’ demanded it so. [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] What To Expect: The story of a boy becoming a man becoming a king + everything that entails. Largely gamelit, but later arcs could be called litrpg. Also schemes. A lot of schemes. I do love some good ol' fantasy politics and intrigue. Minimum Word Count a Week: TBA after Writathon Release Time(s): Daily for as long as I can/until the end of the Writathon. I also write The Deathseeker [Returning Dec 5th]

Path of the Ancients
When humans with the ability to control the fundamental particles of the universe with their minds were first discovered, the age of space travel began in earnest. Relativistic travel faster than the speed of light became possible and humanity moved out into the stars. When it was discovered that these Mages could be turned into effective weapons, humanity turned back to its oldest pastime of war. Hundreds of years later as humanity was on the brink of self-destruction, with its taste for war finally beginning to wane, a new organization was created. The Conclave was formed to regulate all Mage’s within the human colonies. While the colonies maintained their independence, the Conclave’s control over access to interstellar travel made them the de facto power amongst humanity. As the old saying goes, ‘Power Corrupts’, and many people were unhappy with the way the Conclave had been leveraging its authority, not the least of which were the Mages they controlled. One unregistered illegal Mage by the name of Tyrial had made it his life's mission to dismantle the Conclave at any cost. After spending decades working towards his goals alone, he realized he would need the aid of willing allies in his crusade. Tyrial would need all the help he could get learning to work with others, dealing with his own dark past, and handling unfamiliar feelings of romantic interest. Content Warning Note: They are there to cover my behind. I honestly hesitated to put them there at all but I figured better safe than sorry. Gore in particular barely applies and the sexual content amounts to light Cinemax style at best. But, at least now you can’t say I didn’t warn you. POSTED: Currently, this story is being posted to RoyalRoad and ScribbleHub. If you see this story posted anywhere else, please report it to the user "Tyrial" on either of the aforementioned sites. Cinder Roots (Undergoing a Rewrite)
This novel is currently undergoing a major rewrite, as I noticed several plot points that needed to be revamped. I'll leave the chapters I've posted here to anyone curious to see how everything started, but I'll be posting the rewritten story as a new novel in the future. The characters will be the same, but the journey will be more understandable and hopefully, a lot more fun to read. -------- First, everything was fire, it killed, it consumed, and it gave him life. He was just a tree, born in the biggest forest that remained in the world, full of dryads, naiads, elves and treants, but he was alone. He couldn’t see. He couldn’t talk. Curiosity plagued him. He dreamed of wandering the land, but could only wonder what stood outside the reach of his roots. The tree was tired of waiting. He decided to not just dream, but to act. How could he survive against a invading empire, a grand conspiracy that threatened to shake the foundations of the world, and the raw danger that lies within these woods? With pure determination. Warning - There are quite a few POV changes in the first chapters, but that'll change after the introduction is done, as I'll be focusing on the MC perspective only.
