Chapter 19- Royal Coronation 2
The Royal Quarters was guarded by a white shield encompassing it entirely.
“Security is pretty high then.” Morpheus said.
“Of course, with kings and representives here it has to be.” Ellana said snarkily.
Sophia spoke up before they reached the entrance.
“Everyone stand still, you’ll thank me later.”
Leaves began to formulate around everyone and a sweet scent filled their noses.
Buff Recieved- Nature’s charm, enchance your aura with a sweet scent. +6 Charisma.
“Thank god for that, Lance did you even wash.” Ellana said and she got a huff from Lance.
They finally approached the entrance and went through the security check. Ellana gave the guard their papers and she got a conflicted look from the guard.
“Keep your drinking to a limit, we don’t want a repeat.” The guard said.
“I was spiked, Lance thought it would of been funny.” She said in denial.
“Just please keep your drinking to a minimum.” The guard politely said.
They walked through laughing.
“What happened.” Morpheus asked.
“Ellana got very drunk on the kings birthday one year, she got very chatty with the Queen and offered a fight with a nobles wife.” Lance responded.
“Ah boy you should of seen it, even the king was entertained.” Brevair said.
Men in shining silver and blue armour were standing next to the entrance leading into a big ceremonial hall.
“Why do they wear silver and blue?” The young chimera asked.
“The king told me ‘Gold is for a rich man, silver is for a smart one’. Brevair said.
“So he doesn’t want to appear rich?” He asked again.
“Well he’s probably one of the richest men in the Arios, but maybe he just likes silver.”
As they entered the hall, around two hundred people, all different shapes and colours were sprawled around the room. He saw pirates, succubi, dragon-kin and even fairies.
The room was held up by pillars, lined with yet again silver and blue. White and yellow flowers were attached to the pillars symmetrically to match them.
Trumpets began to play as the king and his family walked out from the back of the throne room. It was so cliché, Morpheus thought he got dropped into a movie set. The room quieted down as the king prepared his speech.
The king was wearing a a blue robe knitted out with silver jewels. His wife wore a white pencil skirt, with blue jewels lining the outside. And his daughter, Wore a plain lilac dress, her hair curled almost done her back.
‘She really is a princess.’ He thought. Morpheus admired that they weren’t too fancy, especially being royals.
“Good evening, blessed, royals and representatives. We are here today to mark my daughter as princess to the royal throne of Ervos.”
“I would like to thank you all for attending, for we have had peace for two centuries and it has been a thriving time for all of us.”

“Now, Olivia, please will you step forward.”
A man handed the king a silver tiara, to which he put upon his daughters head.
The Raven that Morpheus met before, emerged from behind the king and stood to the side of Olivia.
The robed Raven spoke. “Here today, by Odin, I, a Raven. Formally declare Princess Olivia Cavet, next in line to the Ervos throne. When the time comes, may her life be long and her reign wise.”
Olivia lifted her dress and bowed to her audience. A bright white light glowed on her hand, everyone was in shock.
The king rushed over to her with open eyes.
“The gods have seen. My daughter has been marked.” “My dear, who’s mark is it?
“Hathor.” She said quietly
The crowd erupted into applause, people cheered. Princess Olivia was shocked, she just stared at her hand, the glow slowly diminished.
The king shouted. “For the gods have seen, my daughter will rule with love.” The crowds cheered even more.
Everyone was ecstatic, to Morpheus it wasn’t a big deal but he soon changed his mind. Some people were crying tears of joy, it seemed that to see someone being marked was unheard of.
“Can you believe that.” Reyna said leaning into him.
“I mean yes, she’s stunning, polite and wearing a plain dress.”
Reyna shook her head and laughed, she carried on clapping.
“Let us feast, for a mark has been given.” The king shouted.
Doors opened to the side of ceremonial hall into a large banquet. Tables without chairs were littered about the room covered with expensive food. Glass chandeliers hung from the ceiling, containing huge crystals.
“So this is an after party of sorts?” Morpheus asked Sophia.
“Yes, I can’t believe the princess was marked, to see it happen.” Tears began to fall down from her eyes.
Brevair side hugged his wife. “It’s a good sign.” Sophia began to weep more.
“She was born on the day we were blessed after a monster horde. Everyone thought she was a curse of sorts.” She said through her teary state.
All of the people had entered the banquet hall now, chatter and the smell of wine filed the air. The queen and her daughter emerged holding hands and recieved another round of applause.
“Long live the Princess.” He heard multiple people shout.
The Princess took a bow, the same as her mother and began to talk to the people around her. If the young chimera had a stat for social skills he knew it would be below zero. He just followed his group around taking to multiple people and introducing themselves.
Reyna and Morpheus saw Michael and went to chat about the recent events with him. Morpheus was shocked to see how nice he was, maybe it was his family’s opinion that had influenced his views.

As he was chatting he felt a hand on his shoulder. It was Brevair and the king was standing next to him, Morpheus panicked and just bowed.
“Please, you are with a blessed.” The king said holding his hand out.
He shook it as politely and firmly as he could.
“So you are Brevair’s prodidgy, I’m expecting great things.” The king said.
His heart was beating out of his chest, not like an engine, but a malfunctioning one.
“Yes your majesty, I will leave up to his name.”
“That is good news, and please in this instance, call me Cavet.”
“As you wish.” He nervously said.
Brevair chuckled and said in his rough voice. “Don’t be shitting yourself now boy, what was all this talk about challenging dungeons and you can’t even speak.”
The king laughed with Brevair, it seemed like they were good friends. Reyna had turned around with a bright grin on her face.
“Oh and the lovely Reyna, you look so much like your mother.”
She bowed and then shook his hand. “Please don’t tell her that.”
The king laughed again.
“I must say Cavet, what happened today will go down in history forever.” Brevair said.
“I can’t believe it myself, from all the talk on her birth to now receiving a mark it has definately been a journey.” The king replied.
Morpheus liked the king, he was proud and jolly. As all should be.
“Anyway Brevair, I must leave you. I need to speak with the nobles.” He said with a slight roll of his eyes. The king bowed to the small group and left.
“He’s very down to Earth.” Morpheus said.
“Is that like calling him not a prick?” Reyna asked.
“Kinda.” Morpheus replied.
They turned back to Michael and carried on chatting. He saw the Scarecrows lounging in a corner, drinking to their hearts content. Morpheus wouldn’t dare to speak to them, they were here probably just to represent and nothing more.
Ellana was giggling like a school girl with the queen. They were speaking to the succubi representatives of Queensdale.
Many guards followed around their kings, as silent as they could be. He saw the Princess walk over in his direction out the corner of his eye. She was walking in his direction, and he panicked again. Reyna suddenly walked forward and gave her a massive hug.
Olivia embraced the hug, they then both moved back and bowed to each other.
“Reyna look.” Olivia said brandishing her hand.
“Wow that’s so cool. I’m so jelous.”
“You should be.” She said with a smile. They chatted and she finally introduced Morpheus and Michael.
“This is Michael Bellas my teammate, and this is Brevair’s student, Morpheus.”
Him and Michael both bowed and the princess returned it.
Michael spoke up “Princess Olivia, may I congratulate you on behalf of my family on your mark.” “Would you mind if I could take a look at it.”
“Well thank you.” She said lifting her hand up again.
Morpheus could finally look at her mark. It was Olivia standing between two trees, leaves floating down to her feet.
“How impressive Princess, I’m humbled to in front of a marked.”
‘You cheeky prick’ Morpheus thought. How was he meant to match that.
“And Brevair’s student, I expect better than Reyna hopefully. That’s a very interesting tatoo on your hand too” She said with a kind smile much to the annoyance of Reyna.
“Reyna and Brevair have both beaten me more times than I can count.” He said. “I recieved this mark in a dungeon, but it’s not as beautiful as yours.
“As I suspected, you’d be a great Queens Guard in the future.” She said with stunning smile.
“I will hopefully fulfil that for you.” He lied.
He heard a glass drop in the center of the room.
“LONG LIVE THE DITORIAN! MAY AXON JUDGE YOU UNFAIRLY!” A voice shouted out.
He could see a waiter standing in the middle of the room.
Suddenly the waiter brandished a knife and cut into his stomach and stuck his hand in. Bringing out a golden ball of glass.
The king of Southcross lifted his hand and the waiter's neck snapped and he fell dead on the floor dropping the golden ball of glass.
The ball hit the floor and began to pulsate, emitting different colours.
“Get away everyone!”
People began rushing away, guards stood in front of their kings and queens.
Force fields and Sophia’s vines encased the orb, attempting to block the explosion.
Morpheus pulled Reyna back into Michael as he lunged in front of the Princess who was just standing there in shock. Isis’s mark glowed a bright orange and Olivia's hand also glowed.
An influx of energy and colours pulsated and golden energy ripped into the banquet hall. The glass chandeliers all shattered into pieces and the explosion hit him. Golden licks of energy cut into his body, cutting off his hand and leaving deep cuts across his leg and face. It wasn’t an explosion of force, more of an explosion of magic.
He crashed back onto the Princess and they both fell backwards.
Chaos filled the room as some people got tore in half, others missing parts of their face and blood stained the pristine marble floor.
Morpheus was knocked out, blood covered himself and the Princess.
“Where’s Olivia!” He heard the Ervos Queen scream.
She was hurriedly dragged out from beneath Morpheus as he lay unconscious. They left him on the floor in a pool of his own blood.

Shades of the Moon
I'm rewriting this story! I have taken down Arc 2 and Arc 3 already to avoid spoiling my new novel. The only reason I'm keeping the first 10 chapters is nostalgia; the writing is awkward and the story is not plotted out properly, but it's here if anyone wants to compare it to the new one. If you'd like to read a more professionally written version of this story, I highly suggest checking out my Synergy. Synopsis version too-many-to-count: “I see,” Kiona said. “But . . . you’re changing once again, aren’t you?” The entity considered her question, lifting a clawed hand towards the night sky. They observed the back of their hand idly, watching the glowing orange veins pulse alongside their pitch-black exoskeleton. The wind picked up right then, and Kiona shivered—just as much from the cold as from the savage grin on the creature's face. “That’s right,” the entity said, clenching their hand slowly into a fist. They let out a quiet laugh, staring defiantly at the Moon as it rose from behind the clouds. “We are shades, yet not exactly. Not like the others. Here, in this world, we've become something more. We are the Shades of the Moon.” There was a heartbeat of silence, during which Kiona joined the entity in their skygazing. The light-green Moon loomed over the city, shining like the entity's eyes. It promised otherworldly knowledge and terrible secrets. It promised progress. It promised change. In that moment, Kiona couldn't have imagined anything more beautiful. “Shades of the Moon, huh?” she said, smiling a bit. It had a nice ring to it.
