《I Was Green》Chapter 27: Dear Diary

If you see these writings, then most likely you uncovered the wormhole I made. The pages you are holding in your hands are records of an experiment I conducted. If it is of no interest to you, or when you satisfy your curiosity, please, leave them where you found them.
This is far from the first time I've conducted an experiment, although this one is a somewhat special case. Before, I worked with humans mostly, rarely with animals. Their behavior patterns are too simplistic to keep things interesting and I tend to avoid things that seem to be boring.
I chose a group of classmates. Waited and observed, as they grew up and ultimately went different ways. They graduated, found jobs, married, grew old, died. Not everyone followed the pattern, but it mattered not. I observed and whenever another one was about to die, I was there to collect their essence.
When almost everyone was gathered, I decided that the time had come, the probability of anything exciting enough happening in the lives of those who remained was inconsiderably slim. I gathered the remaining essence and proceeded to the exciting part.
As mentioned before, I commonly work with sapient subjects. This experiment is unusual, as all of my subjects were given forms dependent on their fears, desires and thought process in general.
I put some efforts to erase memories of my subjects to the point where they still considered each other classmates. Mind is a tricky area, so some marginal error was taken into consideration.
The plan was to put the subjects in a contained area and then use different kinds of stimuli. After the experiment started, I was rudely interrupted.
Some sort of entity invaded my domain along with its minions. Together they wreaked havoc across my domain, primarily by impersonating personnel. My domain mostly consists of finished experiments that I had no reason to clean up after, so it didn’t matter what that entity does with them.

What mattered however, is that the entity laid its claim on the group I was observing as well, tampering with two of my subjects. I did not take to it kindly and perhaps I made a mistake in a rash, as when I returned, I found out that my subjects managed to split. The upside was that most of them were still in controlled territories. The downside was that a couple of them dispersed through the whole domain, most likely dead, as most of the scenes that remained after experiments are very dangerous for those who come unprepared.
Fortunately, I was able to cooperate with the entity that invaded my domain. Its influence could work as yet another stimulus in my experiment, and a major one at that.
{Some pages missing}
I asked the invader to collect his minions, he was tracking each of them with a special essence mark. Perhaps I should put a similar brand on my subjects? Doesn’t seem to be needed the most of the time. If it were not for the sudden intrusion, I wouldn’t miss even a single subject.
The good news is that Nameless, one of my subjects who was missing, was accidentally collected with one of the entity’s minions.

Today, Nameless went to explore Reina Magister’s house. She decided to live alone in order for others to be spared from an invisible entity which is bonded to her. It seems like things won’t go her way.
They met. Why would she need the witch's tear? Oh, she used Rita Knox’s tear in order to poison the tea. Unfortunately for you, it won’t work, dear Reina Magister. It kills people who that witch dislikes and heals people who are on the witch’s good side. I still find the design too crude. Some improvements are required.

I’ll let you know, even though you can’t hear me, Rita Knox won’t hate Nameless easily. I know everyone’s future after all. I’m glad that I waited and didn’t harvest everyone’s essence immediately.
President of their class, Enrique Talavera, decided to challenge my authority of this place and glimpse into the future. It was a foolish stunt. He was lucky that it all ended with just a raging storm and a couple of burnt pages.
I found myself watching Nameless more than I probably should, but it’s totally worth it. The boy has a great propensity for finding trouble. Maybe he has an ability I’m not aware of?
Nameless left the room the moment Reina Magister was dealing with her entity. A curse she says! It’s a boon to them, something diligently crafted for each individual, expected to bring forth parts of them, which resulted in their current appearance.

Trickster and Nameless saw doors which belonged to each other. I should be excited about the second voting but I instead grew concerned. The person that appeared in their memories, Fatalist, seemed to be a bit too strange. She makes me feel uneasy.
Each of the entity's minions possess an ability, but she has none the entity remembers of. As if the entity sealed its memory about everything that concerns Fatalist.
Whatever her power is, as long as Fatalist doesn’t disrupt the experiment I would let her be. She is not my pawn. Perhaps her meeting with Nameless was just an accident.

Finally, the island part of my experiment was brought to the end. I left Nameless and Illusionist trapped in the void. I don’t think they would ever be able to get out of there.
{Another batch of pages missing}
1) Nameless – Supposedly some sort of a devourer-like species – A viscous substance that will charge towards the closest living being with a speed higher than its appearance may imply, enveloping said being. It uses its powers to negate any kind of resistance trapped being might put up, however, is vulnerable to attacks from the outside when transforming into the trapped creature. The process takes a few hours. If the current host is destroyed, it reverts to its original form.
Note: Has a passive mental power that prevents others from remembering and calling him by name to make his insider type of ability more potent.
Alleged Trapping: Curiosity, desire to explore more than a single pathway in life. Seems to believe that every choice he makes limits his future, making it less diverse.
Result: Was exiled. Subject terminated.
