A blood stained Luna walked out to him, trying to get his attention. Jack snapped out of his thoughts, getting back up on his feet. The wilderness was not a place where he could simply sit down and take time for introspection.

He gave a quick glance over the corpses of those who tried to cross him: no longer feeling as squeamish or sick about it after recovering his memories. In fact, he almost found it natural. They were the ones that pushed him this far, and they reaped the price for it.

The system had mentioned that he would only receive one most valuable item from their inventory besides their tp. So he’d received a bow and a dagger, a secondary weapon that he could actually use. The bow was useless for him, it barely did any damage to someone of his stats and only had 15 ammunition. Good for poking monsters, but without any way to channel Qi on the tip, useless.

He got up, not giving the corpses a second glance, and started moving. He did not move towards the citadel, no, there was something he had to try first. He had not forgotten the torment the Titan had inflicted on him, but he was not foolish enough to believe he could kill it on his own.

But he had to try his new talent. The titan couldn’t kill him the first time around, when Jack barely had any levels and was helpless, so it had no chance when he had reached level 11 and was on the verge of reaching twelve.

On the way, Jack encountered a group of three goblins. Giving his new wilderness dagger a whirl, Jack sliced through their throats with practiced ease, sifting through their formation like a ghost, no, a reaper of death.

You have received 3% Cycle experience. Congratulations, you have reached level 12!

You have received 50 TP.

‘So the TP reduces for killing lower level targets?’ Jack thought, noting the observation before carrying on his way.

Merely half an hour later, Jack was standing on the outskirts of the Titan’s den, but he could no longer spot the mountain that had been there before. It was as if it had vanished, leaving behind an Orc Titan guarding nothing except its own life.

‘Jack, are you sure you want to use that power?’ Luna’s voice echoed out in his mind, raising a valid question.

“Nope,” Jack smiled uncertainly, giving his cat a good head rub before doing something crazy.

‘Hey! I’m not a dumb cat anymore!’ Her voice echoed out in protest, but her expression was that of bliss.

“But you do seem to like it a lot, don’t you,” Jack almost laughed, but then reigned it in.

“...” Luna just ignored that comment.

“I’m not sure, Luna. Life just got a whole lot weirder. But if it makes me stronger, well I have to try, at least. So the next time a group of psychopaths try to kill me for my stuff, I’m not forced to be reduced to a half-dead state before I can begin fighting back,” Jack voiced out his honest thoughts, Luna being the only person he could trust out in the isolated wilderness.

“Okay now, go on and retreat a bit. I’m not sure what’s going to happen, but I have a feeling if I don’t start using this power, it’s going to activate on its own.”

“Take care,” Luna complied, and started retreating into the forest, staying within hundred meters.

“Alright, now it’s time to see what you can do.” Jack thought, before beckoning the dice below the center of his heart.

“Damn…,” Jack inadvertently blurted out, as a small die started to manifest itself in his right palm. The numbers one to six were carved on it in the roman numeric system, namely, I, II, III, IV, V and VI. The first three numbers were carved out of a radiant golden light, while the remaining three numbers were carved out of a reddish-black light that he was all too familiar with.

“No, no, wait, stop,” Jack called out as the Dice started spinning on his own, realizing the drastic consequences that could take place if it landed on the reddish-black tiles. But it was too late, the process was out of Jack’s hands. He watched with tense anticipation, as the die finally stopped rotating, stopping on the number,

IV.
