《Unexpected Reincarnation》Chapter 6: Spell Crafting And What It Entails

First of all, I'm extremely sorry for losing my mind. Now, that I know that this is a Story World, everything seems to make much more sense, in that it makes no sense at all. One thing for certain is, I'm severely limited as to what I can do. I won't be able to use the 7th-grade magic I'm so fond of. I'm sorry, I mean I won't be able to use magic to level entire mountains. By comparison, I'd say this world is limited to 3rd-grade or maybe 4th-grade magic. I mean it makes sense. The concentration of mana in the atmosphere is far thinner than I know and mana capacity in the body of people in this world is far less. That means this is a mid-level world in comparison to the high-level world from where my sense of values comes from. To make a comparison, if the top wizard of a mid-level world wanted to chant Lumos Maxima with all his mana poured into it, he would be able to create a ball of light the size of at most half of the surface area of the planet we're on right now, Earth(which is not all that big mind you). Whereas, with my knowledge people from high-level worlds could create an entire fucking Sun. But now that, I know that this is a Story World, I don't care about the mana levels of this world. Because I can't do jackshit about it because the laws of the worlds restrict massive changes to the structure of the setting of the Story World itself. So, I'll just focus on improving my casting, spell usage, potion brewing, and herbology. I shall become the master of 4th-grade magic and live peacefully. I can also stop questioning every weird thing. No, I will stop questioning every weird thing.
Boy, would that promise be hard to keep, but that's a story for later.
Now, I'm in my darkened room, chanting Lumos over and over again to exhaust my magic core, so I can increase my mana regeneration rate and capacity. I also do physical exercise to toughen my body and it has already begun to show signs of improving my mana capacity.
Hallelujah!!
Once I get a bit older, I'll ask my mother for some weights to do weight lifting as well. Doing weights as a five-year-old is bad for the muscles.
I keep on casting Lumos.
Hmm~ why is the light always white? It also shines from the tips of my fingers or in the middle of my palm. Can I change the color?
I stop the Lumos and begin to cast again. But this time, I slow the flow of mana to the spell. So, the Lumos lights up slowly. I begin to focus carefully on the slow Lumos.

As my concentration hit its peak, I finally see something. It seems to be some lines of words not much.
Ho? What are these? I've never seen these letters. Wait, that one! Yes, that one. That letter, I've seen it in one of my mother's Ancient Language books. The spells are made with the ancient language. Then, that's one more thing for me to learn.
I become excited at the prospect of finally altering spells which I would later learn is called Spell Crafting. This is huge. This means I have a way to at least create the countless spells I know by basing them on the spell models of this world. This is already making me excited. But first, I have to study ancient languages. Off I go to my mother to ask for books on Ancient Language.
Oh right...
I've forgotten to mention that my mother has taken up a job at the Ministry Of Magic. She works in the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes as a member of The Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committee. I mean her job fits her skills well. A witch who married a muggle and has friends both muggles and wizards alike, of course, she'll do a fantastic job. But that also means that she isn't home all that much. Sure, it gets a bit lonely but I know she has many things to think about now that my father is in a coma.
Speaking of my father, after the night we got attacked, he got his consciousness fragmented. And although they admitted him to St. Mungo's, they couldn't wake him up. As muggles can't hold mana in their bodies for long, the healers really can't do anything other than diagnose him and keep his necessities met. When I first heard this, I did question the fact if there are no healers specifically for this department and later learned that there aren't. Because the Cruciatus Curse is part of the three Unforgivable Curses. These three curses are the worst of all dark spells. The Cruciatus Curse tortures, the Imperius Curse controls, and Avada Kedavra kills.
Huh? Why'd you put the Killing Curse as a part of the Unforgivable Curses? No, no, I just promised to not question anything.
But I soon got my answer. Apparently, dark spells corrode one's mind and soul. They become evil.
Isn't that just turning someone to the dark side?
I'd like to try out these dark spells just to see the effect they have on my mind. But I need a wand for that.
Back to my father's problem, I go visit him at least once a month with my mother. And upon learning magic, every time visit him. I send my mana into his body just to get a feel of it.

I focus on his consciousness and see that it is resembled by a broken ball of light with the broken pieces of it being either far or near to it. Then a question may come as to why I don't gather his consciousness one visit at a time. To that I say, I tried. One time, I tried to gather as many pieces as I had mana and as long his body held up. I couldn't fix it all the way and left thinking I'd finish it the next time I came here. But, as I went to check up on him later, I found his consciousness to be fragmented again but this time, the pieces were at different places than before with one having gone much further. So, I understood that it had to be all or nothing. So, after that, I just sent my mana in him and reached out to the pieces but didn't fix it. It was practice for when I had enough mana to do it one go. Hopefully, I can wake him up by my 10th or 11th birthday.
In other news, ever since I made friends with the Weasley twins, we've been frequently hanging out. We always hang out at their house. It's an oddly shaped house, to say the least. But maybe that's how wizard's like that house. During this time, there were two new additions to the Weasley family. A boy named Ron who is now 4 years old and a girl named Ginny who is the youngest now being 3 years old. So, the total children of the Weasley family are 7: Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred and George, Ron and Ginny.
Jesus Christ, how many kids are you gonna have Mr. Weasley? I know you're still healthy, no need to prove it.
I met the new children, and they're both vastly different. Ron is a literal snot-nosed brat, I don't mean that figuratively, the ginger-haired kid cries most of the time I see him and always has a mixture of snot and tear on his face. Damn, it's irritating seeing him whine.
Ginny is an adorable ginger-haired girl. She always stays prim and proper. She used to cry a lot when she was a baby just like all babies but after she became a toddler, she stopped being fussy. She became well-mannered which was rare for kids in a household like hers. Seems like after I awaken my father, I'd have to influence them to give me a younger sister. Although the age gap would be a problem, all problems can be solved with enough time.
Hmm~ wait a minute. Everyone has ginger hair. Even the wife's a ginger. Holy mother of genetics, Mr. Weasley, how did you rub off your genes on your wife?
The twins are a mischievous pair. I often accompany them when they prank Mr. Weasley or the neighborhood children. But they both fear Mrs. Weasley as one would the Grim Reaper. Same with Mr. Weasley.
Seems like the Weasley Family is a matriarchy.
Bill being 9 years older than me, was like the responsible older brother. He helps me out with the various questions I have about Hogwarts and generally looks after me and his other siblings like the eldest son of a family would although I would only see him around during the vacation times. Charlie was 2 years younger than Bill was an animal lover. You could always see him with animals he picked up from god knows where. I don't have much of an impression of Percy. He acts like a goody-two-shoes and is a stickler for rules laid down by his mother. That's going to be a problem later on. If he acts like he has a stick up his ass in the future, it's going to cause a lot of conflicts. A man should be flexible when needed and have the ability to question authority. Anyone who can't judge would not have a good ending. But it's not my place to fix him.
Now, one odd thing I've noticed is that there is a brown rat with one of its toes missing which is the pet of the Weasleys. Now that's really not odd you say, and I agree, many people have rats as pets. That's all fine and dandy. But when I first saw the rat, I asked Bill where he got it from. He said he got it from the backyard. I asked him 3 years ago mind you with now being the February of 1985. So, the million-dollar question is:
"How the fuck is this rat still alive?"
But I can really can't do anything since there is no evidence. So, I'll wait. Maybe, this rat is a variant. I'll bide my time and research a bit about rats, I guess.
In my newest batch books that I've received from the 'Owl Order System'(don't ask and I won't question), was a book on a high-level transfiguration called Animagus. I am already proficient in the Transfiguration they teach 3rd years at Hogwarts. So, hopefully, I won't find this too hard.
I start to read the book on Animagus.
There's Shamanism here as well?

Lorian Ellins [Dropped]
Lorian found himself in the medieval European style world, thinking he went back in time. However, upon inquiring, he realized history, customs and as such were different. This was a whole new world he knew nothing about. A place where powerful were respected and feared, a place where monsters and different races existed. After a lucky encounter, Lorian manages to secure a job, home and survival. However, the world is large and ready to be explored. Lorian won't be lost in mediocrity. This is his destiny. Nonetheless, everyone starts at a low point in life. Fast growth and OPness seemed impossible even with the help of the system. , Life is neither a game nor a bunch of numbers. It's far more complex and unpredictable. We don't know where we stand in the future, or is there even future prepared for us? I always thought that overused motto in wuxia novels, '' I want to control my destiny '' was cliche and we had less control over our lives as they are dictated by many other factors. This world taught me otherwise, thus this place shall be my new beginning. '' PS: The cover is not mine. It was randomly found on the internet. 8 146Am I The Only One Who Is Not Forced to Migrate Across Worlds....?
A random isekai adventure might not be random. Underlying conspiracies, not-so-kind world and most importantly two-faced characters. Only time can reveal the flaws of the so-called Migrators! *** I am rewriting the novel. All this time, I have honing my skills as a writer. As my first novel, this novel served as a self-reflection of how much I improved later on. This doesn't have the most unique of plots but as a first novel, I still have some aspirations and memories.
8 116Just a Game
“A great corruption is spreading. The people cry out for a savior. For a hero. For YOU! Come join the fight, as the chosen of World Tree! Receive the blessings of the gods, battle fierce monsters, and become the hero you were meant to be, in Arcanum Online!” It was the cheesiest commercial Ethan had ever heard, but the gameplay was enough to draw him - and thousands of others - to the fantasy world of Lazuros. It’s the sort of place that can really draw you in - a huge open world, a deep character customization system, and a feature that makes time pass slower inside the game, extending your limited playtime! It was a little strange, though. As if it was a bit too realistic for a game of swords and sorcery. The NPC’s seemed almost alive, most quests didn’t reset and monsters respawned slowly. Still, for all it’s quirks, it was a good game! Just a game. And nothing more. …right?
