《Unexpected Reincarnation》Chapter 3: Resolution

Sirius Black was in one of the safe houses of the Order Of The Phoenix. The First Wizarding War was entering its worst days and final days as the year 1980 rolled in. But no one was happy and the new year wasn't celebrated as tension among the members of The Order Of The Phoenix and the Ministry Of Magic was at an all-time high. The Death Eaters were running rampant and murdering without remorse. Order and Ministry members were picked off one by one, leading to the idea that there was a spy in their midst. This caused allies to look at each other uneasily. All these were a great source of headache for Sirius Black causing him to view his best friend, Remus Lupin who was undercover within Voldemort's Werewolf Army, as a spy. Sirius Black had a map in front of him, with X marks on it, marking the various potential places, Death Eaters would attack. One of them was Privet Drive.
Both Sirius Black and Edgar Bones were sure that some of the Death Eaters would attack many of the half-blood and muggle-born wizards and witches living there. But assumptions weren't enough and without concrete proof, they couldn't mobilize as they didn't have enough time or members to send them to each of the locations. Sirius Black was pacing around in the central room thinking hard about what to do when one of the scouts came in with a report citing that Death Eaters were attacking the home of Selene Balor in Privet Drive. Sirius wore a look of haste and took the scout with him in search of Edgar Bones who should be somewhere in this safe house that was enchanted with space magic.
As he walked, Sirius thought of Selene Balor, a girl in her 6th year when he enrolled. She was in Ravenclaw, although she was smart like all students in Ravenclaw, she had a tomboyish side to her as well which led her to join the Ravenclaw Quidditch as a seeker. All though she was a bit worse than James, she was good nonetheless. She graduated in 1971. She married Tom Balor in 1973 after falling in love with him as she roamed around England. They had a son named Sol just in May of last year. Although she joked around, she was serious in her studies and helped the juniors whenever they asked.

Dear God, I hope nothing happens.
Thought Sirius as he found Edgar and with the scout, the 3 apparated near Selene's house on Privet Drive.
Under the cover of night, the 3 men started to sneak towards Selene's house. Sirius took to the back of the house as saw the broken front door and he told the others to wait. As he kept moving towards the back, he felt it was unnaturally quiet. Peering through one of the windows, Sirius found 3 Death Eaters as they were using Cruciatus on a man.
That must be Tom. Where's Selene and her son? I have to pick up the pace.
As he sneaked back with haste towards the others in front of the house, he quickly made a plan with them.
"There are 3 Death Eaters in the room at the back" whispered Sirius, "They're using Cruciatus on Tom"
"Bastard! They're using Cruciatus on muggle?!", said Edgar as began to become angry.
"There is no time for this. I'll apparate in the midst of the with the 2 of you. Ready your spells."
""Got it!""
After the exchange, the 3 of them got out their wands and held on to Sirius as he apparated.
As they apparated into the Death Eaters' midst, they let out a flurry of spells. After sending spells back and forth, one of the hooded Death Eaters was knocked backward with a Stupefy, falling unconscious while the other hooded one was disarmed with an Expelliarmus.
"Dammnit all!", screamed a Death Eater with straw-colored hair as he cast a Confringo on the ground. The explosion and shrapnel caused Sirius and the others to protect their face with their arms. In that gap, the Death Eater with the straw-colored hair cast an Avada Kedavra towards the closet and disapparates from the place with the disarmed Death Eater.
Thud
As the Death Eaters left, Sirius heard a soft thud inside the closet.
"Dammnit! They got away.", raged Sirius.
"It's alright, Sirius" consoled Edgar, "At least we caught one."
"Check for survivors!", ordered Sirius as he began to walk towards the closet.

He opened the closet door only to find a baby with black hair and ocean-blue eyes., sitting there in cat rompers and diapers with blood dripping from his forehead down his reddish, tear-stained little face.
The baby's eyes were glued to the ground and he didn't make a sound as if he was in deep thought.
Sirius paused and looked at the baby for a while.
This must be Sol. How did he get injured? He isn't crying? Did he witness all that? He must be traumatized. Poor child.
"Rennervate!"
"Rennervate!"
"Sirius, this is bad. Although Tom hasn't been tortured long, his consciousness has fragmented. It'll take months if not years to wake up.", reported the scout.
He took the child in his arms and he whispered in the gentlest voice he could muster.
"Don't worry, it's all over. You're safe now."
As if his word were understood, Sol looked up into his eyes.
But what scared Sirius was that Sol's eyes contained the coldest light he had ever seen. It felt as if hell had frozen over.
Why does he look angry? Does he understand what happened? No, that doesn't matter. Let's just console him for now.
He shivered inwardly and became wide-eyed with bewilderment at the thought of a baby having this kind of eyes.
But the baby didn't look at him with that gaze anymore. His eyes became dull, devoid of any emotion as if he had given up. For the baby understood that he needed strength to protect what was his.
He needed to become far stronger than anyone.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I was still in Sirius' arms when he took me outside our eyes.
"Where's Selene? We need to take Tom to St. Mungo's for recuperation.", muttered Sirius.
Blood no longer oozed from my forehead as Sirius pointed his wands towards my head and chanted Episkey which healed me up.
I'd express my thanks but you know....
"Take Tom to St. Mungo's, I'll stay here with Sol and wait for Selene."
"Understood."
The 2 other men disapparated with my father to St. Mungo's which presume to be a healing center. I hope the damage to my father's consciousness isn't too bad. If it's minimal, I can heal him myself once I gain more power in 3 years.
I wait with Sirius in awkward silence for my mother. With nothing to do, I think to begin a conversation with him.
Do you know who those bastards were?
But instead of fully formed words, sounds cooing and gurgling came out.
"Are you hungry? Don't worry, your mother will come back soon and feed you."
"........"
Dammnit! Just you wait, when I can finally speak, I'll talk you all to death.
Minutes pass without a word when suddenly my mother apparatus in front of us.
"Huh, Sirius? Why're you here?" asks my mother in rapid succession with a worried expression, "Why is Sol with you? What happened to Tom?"
"Calm down, Selene. Here hold him and I'll explain."
My mother takes me in her arms as Sirius begins to explain. As the explanation goes on, my mother's grip on me tightens, and when it ends she slumps to her knees, crying.
"Se-Selene, get a hold of yourself!"
Sobs
Hearing my mother cry, fills me with rage.
Why? WHY? Why do good people always meet the worst of misfortunes? No, I shouldn't blame this on fate or fortune.
IT'S THOSE MASKED BASTARDS AND THAT FRECKLED FACED FUCK.
I swear to the Heavens, this world can't have both you and me under the same sky.
Only one can live.
As I lay in the arms of my crying mother, I quietly make my resolution.
Unaware as Sirius takes notice of ice-cold eyes once again.

Gaia Ark
Commander Coop, a four-armed, power-armored, super-soldier, undertakes a mission to assassinate the head of a religious cult bent on destroying the UPSF and everyone they protect. But no mission is ever that simple. GAIA ARK is an action adventure hero's journey featuring a cranky cyborg, vampiric sword, alien monsters, and enough self-discovery to provide a character arc. It's a little rough around the edges, a little crude. I started writing this story on November 2, 2018. This story is mid-composition. Please expect clunky prose, notes [in brackets], and incomplete...

Homeland
NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER -- In Cory Doctorow’s wildly successful Little Brother, young Marcus Yallow was arbitrarily detained and brutalized by the government in the wake of a terrorist attack on San Francisco—an experience that led him to become a leader of the whole movement of technologically clued-in teenagers, fighting back against the tyrannical security state.A few years later, California's economy collapses, but Marcus’s hacktivist past lands him a job as webmaster for a crusading politician who promises reform. Soon his former nemesis Masha emerges from the political underground to gift him with a thumbdrive containing a Wikileaks-style cable-dump of hard evidence of corporate and governmental perfidy. It’s incendiary stuff—and if Masha goes missing, Marcus is supposed to release it to the world. Then Marcus sees Masha being kidnapped by the same government agents who detained and tortured Marcus years earlier.Marcus can leak the archive Masha gave him—but he can’t admit to being the leaker, because that will cost his employer the election. He’s surrounded by friends who remember what he did a few years ago and regard him as a hacker hero. He can’t even attend a demonstration without being dragged onstage and handed a mike. He’s not at all sure that just dumping the archive onto the Internet, before he’s gone through its millions of words, is the right thing to do.Meanwhile, people are beginning to shadow him, people who look like they’re used to inflicting pain until they get the answers they want. Fast-moving, passionate, and as current as next week, Homeland is every bit the equal of Little Brother—a paean to activism, to courage, to the drive to make the world a better place.
