《Unexpected Reincarnation》Chapter 2: The Damage Is Done

Why in the name of all that is unholy is there a war in this world as well?
I just want to live in peace, is that too much to ask?
I reaaalllllyyyy want to beat up whoever started this war.
As these thoughts swirl in my tiny head, I nod off to dreamland.
Tomorrow is another day.
It is the 7th month after my birth.
Something is wrong. I can feel it.
The atmosphere isn't right.
Yet, I don't know anything because they keep talking in another room while I lay in my crib.
ARGHHH!
After minutes of feeling angry, I hear the sound of the main door opening and then closing.
Hmm~ did someone leave the house?
As if to answer my question, my father enters my room. He picks me up from my crib.
He sits down on the floor with me and gives me toys to play with me. He gives me a small bird-like toy that has a black visor in front of his eyes, stiff wings on its side, and a stiff tail.
Ahh yes. The 'airplane' as my father calls it. Apparently, muggles use it to fly high in the sky. But isn't it too small? Perhaps, they use magic to shrink themselves. Yes, that must be it. It's cost-effective and doesn't require many materials from what I can see. Truly a marvelous piece of technology.
Also, there's a machine called the car. My father has one of those. They're metallic wagons with tops and can move on their own. My father operates it to trek back and forth from his work.
Science and technology have truly come a long way.
As I play with my father and marvel at recent technology, I remember something.
Hmm~ what happened to mother? Where is she?
I stop playing and begin to crawl towards the door. I had just gone five feet when my father picked me up in his arms.
"Woah there bud. Where are you going? Do you wanna search for your mom? Your mom has gone outside for a bit. It's best to stay here with me."
His voice seems to get more and more quiet and serious as he talks.
Looking at the serious expression on his face, I stop crawling and relax in his arms.
My father's face softens a bit watching me do so. Although he still had a grave expression.
Just what is up with today?
He rocks me in his arms for a while when-
BANG
There's a loud noise and we hear something break.
My father's expression turns into one of panic. He quickly goes to the closet in my room and places me there.
What happened? Did someone break-in? Whoever it is, I'll beat the shit outta you for stopping my playtime. Come on man, I'm asleep for most of the time, at least let me do what I want when I'm awake.

"Don't worry, Sol. Your dad will handle it.", says my father with a hushed and hurried tone.
He hastily closes the closet door but in his hurry, the door is just open a crack.
I use my arms to lift myself in a sitting position and peer through the crack.
I see my father look around in panic and haste for something. He looks around and picks up a lamp from the bedside table.
What are gonna do with that? Why are you holding it like a weapon? Are you gonna whack the intruders or something?
As my father hid behind the door, the door suddenly is blown to smithereens.
As soon as he sees the intruder entering, my father with all his might lets out a scream and swings the lamp at the intruder's face.
CLANK
PLOP
All that managed to do was knock off the silver mask the intruder was wearing. Under the mask, was a pale-faced young man with straw-like hair and freckles on his face. He had an especially perverted look on his face and kept licking his lips at irregular intervals.
Suddenly, my father is launched backward even though the freckled man didn't move. Another intruder wearing a hood and the same silver mask entered the room holding what I assumed was a wand.
Hmm~ did this bastard use magic against my muggle father?
This had me fuming with anger and my breathing had quickened.
"Haha. You got attacked by a muggle.", said the hooded man.
"Shut it! Or else I'll use the Cruciatus Curse on you!"
That seemed to shut the hooded man up.
What's the Cruciatus Curse? Is it some sort of terrifying magic that evokes fear from bastards like these who attack a defenseless muggle with magic?
"As for you!"
After turning to my father, the freckled young man points his wand towards my father.
"Crucio"
After chanting the spell's name, my father begins to writhe on the ground. He had a pained expression.
So this is a spell to torture people.
MOTHERFUCKER!!
You're torturing my father like this. You are actually torturing my defenseless muggle father like this!
BUNCH OF BASTARDS!
Go attack Dumbledore or something. Why are you attacking my father? He's not even a wizard.
My anger had risen to its peak and my nostrils flared.
"Where are Selene Balor and your son?", asked the freckled man picking up his mask.
"Like I'd tell you- AGHHH."
The fucker put on his mask and amplified the pain and my father writhes more fiercely.
"Do you know why this is happening to you? This is your punishment for seducing a witch from a pure-blooded family. It's a fucking disgrace. And you dared to sire a half-blood child with her. Once we find them, we'll end all of you."

"Tell us where they are and the pain will end.", the hooded man chimes in.
Another hooded, masked man entered the room but didn't say a word.
"Go to hell." curses my father.
"I'd like to see how long you'll last. Search the house!"
"AGHHHH."
The hooded men gave a small nod and left the room, presumably to search the other rooms.
At this point, I believe I've broken through the threshold of my limit of feeling rage. Tears flow down continuously and stain my little face.
But I dare not utter a sound lest my father's efforts end up in vain. All I can do is watch and endure as I am weak.
Far too weak.
Five minutes passed but it felt like 5 hours as the freckled man kept increasing the degree of pain every minute and asked him to reveal our whereabouts.
My father's howls of pain became louder and louder, his expression looking more and more pained, yet he still said nothing.
Why do you continue to endure? Just give up. Please just give up.
Tears continue to flow, my face still stained, takes on a reddish hue as I hold back my sobs with all my might.
Soon, the hooded men return and shake their heads.
"We couldn't find them."
"They really must've left."
"Goddamnit! Fuck! Then let's go!", screamed the freckled man.
He returns his furious gaze towards my father.
"Someone kil-"
He stopped speaking and looked towards the closet. He must've noticed the crack.
"Hehe~"
After stopping his torture, he turns his back to my father and starts to head to the closet.
"Are they here?~", he speaks in a sing-songy voice.
My father looks in the direction of the freckled man's gaze and screams out loud.
"NO!"
But before my father could stop him, the freckled man turns around and fiercely kicks my father in the face, knocking him unconscious.
"So that means they're really here~", sings the freckled man.
"Since no one's come to stop us that means that it's only the son.", speculates one of the hooded men.
"Come out now, brother's going to show you a magic trick~", says the freckled man as he skips towards me.
As I see him come closer, my pupils constrict. My brain goes into overdrive, trying to think of any way to stop him. The only way which comes to mind is to forcibly use magic to surprise and kill him.
Trying to use magic as a baby is simply suicide and this is the reason I've never tried to use magic in this body. Even the act of gathering mana from the air is enough to make me bloat and explode.
I hope I can circulate mana fast enough to at least hit him with a spell. Either way, I'm gonna die so at least I can go out with a bang. Sorry and thank you, father.
Suddenly, as the freckled man, reached out his hand to grab the door handle, the space in the middle of the room suddenly twisted and swirled, only for 3 men to appear.
3 men appeared wearing all black appeared and started casting colorful spells towards the freckled man and the others.
"Expelliarmus!"
"Stupefy!"
"Petrificus Totalus!"
"""Protego!"""
Spells flew out and shields were summoned to counter them.
"Stupefy!"
"Expelliarmus!"
BOOM
One of the hooded men was sent flying with a spell and lost his consciousness while the other's wand was sent flying.
"Damnit all!", screamed the freckled man.
"Confringo!"
The freckled man cast an explosion and aimed his wand at my head before running.
"Avada Kedavra!", he screamed as he ran and a green spell shot from the tip of his wand.
I had no time to think as I ducked with such speed and force that my forehead starts to ooze out blood. But thankfully I had evaded the spell by a hair's breadth.
As I lifted my head, I saw the freckled man with a pale face grab the hooded man without a wand and space where they were twisted and swirled to a point before disappearing.
"Damnit! They got away."
"It's alright, Sirius, at least we caught one."
It's alright? It's ALRIGHT?! What about my father? Why were you only trying to incapacitate them? You should've killed them. Why didn't you kill them?
My anger has reached the point where I have become numb to it. I only had one thought.
"Check for survivors!", ordered the man named Sirius.
Giving his order to the two, he started walking towards me.
He opened the doors and looked at him but I didn't look back at him. My eyes were glued to the floor with only one thought in my head.
Sirius paused for a bit and then lifted me with his arms.
"Rennervate!"
"Rennervate!"
"Sirius, this is bad. Although Tom hasn't been tortured long, his consciousness has fragmented. It'll take months if not years to wake up."
Cradling me in his arms, he says in a gentle voice, "Don't worry, it's all over. You're safe now."
I'll slaughter those bastards myself
With this thought in my mind, I returned his gaze.
As I see him becoming wide-eyed, I thought to myself.
I may be safe but....
....the damage is already done.
