《Dragon Ball: Saga Of The Strongest Human》Chapter 11: Aftermath

The Sun already set and the dark sky with its beautiful starry view could be seen.
Somewhere near a boulder was a fireplace and something was being grilled on it.
The person sitting near it and doing the grilling was Zarid. A few meters away from that one could see Darc. He was still lying on the ground unconscious.
When the meat slowly cooked and let its aroma out, it drifted around and played around with Darc his nose.
Not long after that, it twitched and took in some of the aromas. Darc slowly woke up but remained on the ground.
´Damn, it seems I totally lost. And my body really hurts now that I don't use any ki. I wonder how long I won't be able to use my full power. I don't have any Senzu beans or something like that to immediately heal myself. But I still should be able to continue my plan. There shouldn't be many things on earth left that could endanger me. At least for now?´
Darc pushed himself up and looked to the fireplace.
"Are you finally awake? Took you long enough. Here, take this to get something into your stomach.", said Zarid and threw a piece of meat to Darc.
Darc caught it and bit into it and ate a little piece of it. Then he glanced upwards and back to Zarid while chewing and gulping down. "So I was out for hours. Damn that hit to the neck was nasty, teacher."
Darc was being polite again to Zarid since he lost. He was cocky and got his lesson.
He joined Zarid, sat down somewhere close to the fire and started eating.
"So, what is my evaluation? Do you think I could win the WMA in 3 years?", he asked and thought about some things that happened while in the fight.

"I did say you would win it pretty easily. You still have 3 years to prepare and you already nearly beat me. I am not gonna lie about that fact.", answered Zarid and sighed. "I am pretty surprised, to be frank. Your potential is amazing."
Darc chuckled about his words. "I am just so strong because you were a good teacher. And I wouldn't have thought that I reach this level so fast myself." He looked down at himself and saw his muscular body. ´Hmm?´
"Hey, what happened to the upper part of my gi?", he asked after noticing that his gi was completely ripped apart and therefore destroyed. But he was sure that his gi wasn't so wasted before.
"Oh, that? Well after you passed out I went and tried to recover. At some point some flying dino grabbed you." Zarid smiled and laughed a little after his words "I actually had to get you from it and while freeing you it ripped your gi apart with its claws" Zarid looked at the fire. "Well, that dino ended up as a meal so you got your revenge..."
Darc listened and one of his eyes twitched. "I see, no wonder it kinda got so chilly when the air breeze went by. I hope I don't get a cold."
"It's summer. Don't worry about something like that. Worry more about your mother.", interrupted him Zarid.
"Ah..." Darc gave off and scratched his head. "I nearly totally forgot about that. Well, I will manage somehow but staying any longer outside will probably make her madder. So I will head ahead and go back home. Say, teacher, will you still stay in this town? After all, I am gonna be gone after I talked with my mom and there won't be anyone you could spar with afterward for a while."

"Hmm, with the money your father gave me I could get myself a good little house in this town. I kinda want to see you at your peak. Maybe I will open up a dojo and keep myself busy like that." Zarid stated and smiled at Darc "And maybe I will meet someone else that got as much talent as you. That would be good, don't you agree?"
Darc chuckled again. "Seems like someone enjoyed his stay here much more than he admits to it." Then he clapped his hands together and bowed to Zarid. "I hereby thank you and appreciate the time you took to train me."
Zarid waved with his hand "Don't mention it. Now, go on", he said.
Darc nodded and started to fly up and back to his house.
-----
Because it was nighttime he didn't worry being seen flying around. He landed right in front of his home and slowly opened the door with his keys.
It was still dark inside and he thought his mother was asleep. But he wondered about that.
He tried to sneak up to his room but suddenly the lights in the room were lit.
´Damn, just as I thought´
"So being gone all day and then coming back like this is your way of taking advantage? Aren't you enjoying your holidays a little bit too much, young mister" Kibini said with a big fat cross at her temple indicating her anger.
"Ahaha...", was the only thing that Darc said when he looked at her. He started sweating and was a little frazzled. Truly, a woman is scary when angry.
"Do not ahaha me. Do you know what time it is? It is 2 past midnight!", she shouted at him.
"Wait, mom!" Darc tried to defuse the situation. "I wanted to tell you that I was gonna be late today but you were in your gallery so I didn't want to disturb you."
Kibini calmed down and looked at him with a suspicious look and upheld brow "Then why are you looking like you were somewhere dangerous?"
She looked at his ragged clothes and some of the wounds he had on his body.
"Oh, that? I was just training with teacher Zarid outside and we went at it a little bit more serious to see if I can win the WMA. And guess what? He acknowledged me", said Darc grinningly.
His mother wrinkled her brows after hearing his answer and sighed. "Alright I will forget about it this time but don't expect this to become a norm, do you understand?", she asked him.
"Yes~", Darc said immediately.
"Well, then I will go take a shower and go to sleep." He tried to flee out of this conversation.
Kibini just nodded and watched him go upstairs and shook her head. She was worried that her son turned into a mature man way too fast. Where was her little baby boy from the past? Is that the rebellious stage people talk so much about? She could only guess about it and she definitely didn't want to let him go. Even for a few more years would be enough.
Meanwhile, upstairs Darc went into the shower. After being done freshening up and treating some of his injuries he went into his room and lay down on his bed to fall asleep.
Tomorrow he would start his journey to find all Dragonballs and make his first wish. But for that, he would need to convince his mother to let him go on this journey. Now that will become a big problem to solve but just like he said. He will somehow manage.

Join Rory on what could have been. Taken tragically from life by sudden infant death syndrome. Join in the reimagining of what his life could have been... With a system forced reset of human civilisation thrown in for good measure. One minute Rory was a college student struggling under pressure, the next he and the entire world find themselves at the mercy of the System. Its sick sense of humour results in Rory and hundreds of others going through the tutorial from hell. Monsters straight out of myth become reality, forcing Rory and the unlucky group to fight if they are to have any chance of survival. Those that overcome the tutorial will be thrust into a totally alien world, where might and magic rule and where humanity is far from the top of the food chain. Join Rory as he comes to grips with his new reality, developing new powers and gaining friends and foes alike. This is my first attempt at writing a story of any kind and is dedicated to Rory who died from SIDS at a far too young an age. This story will contain great adventures, epic battles, good friends and foes alike. I am aiming to create a world that will, in some small measure, hopefully keep his memory alive.
