《Flight of Icarus》5.2 Hunt

"From your left!" Hawk shouted to Monthu and the guy barely dodged a shower of spikes that landed right where he had been standing.
"Bolt Arrow!" Ace casted stunning a strange creature in its defenseless state before its spikes could grow back. It resembled a pig which was the same height as him and had spikes over its whole body. They used them as shields or thrown missiles depending on the need. When their spikes were gone, you could see dark pink skin covered with black dots from which new weapons were growing back right before your eyes.
"Frozen Volley!" Hawk said shooting at the stunned monster to slow its regeneration even more. It was the only way to deal any damage to them.
"Magma Blade! Cut-throat!"
"Too late! Get away!" Hawk hissed releasing arrows in quick succession to cover Ace's retreat.
"Dammit" the kid muttered annoyed. It was the fourth time the creature managed to regenerate before they got around to killing it. "This one's a tenacious one."
The pig like creature watched them with its beady eyes hidden behind its spikes that had created a protective shield around him. It looked much more intelligent than the previous one's had.
"It's going for Monthu again!" Ace said getting tired of the repetitive fight. If the creature wasn't going to attack him and instead focused Monthu who was fighting the animal's master, then Ace might as well get daring.
He gripped his two daggers tighter and ran straight at the monster. Its spikes were already outstretched, almost out of their sockets. Ace went to slide feet first to get between the animals legs and under him. There he embedded his both daggers infused with [Gust] and [Flare] into its stomach.
Nothing happened beside a squeak of pain.
Ace hissed in disappointment and retracted his daggers before plunging them in again. Repeatedly.
It took six tries for it to work.
"Better than nothing" Ace murmured feeling the pressure pushing him into the ground. It was very uncomfortable but didn't take much out of his health pool.
The same couldn't be said about the pig like creature. It was screeching high in the air while its spikes were flying in all the directions. The blast seemed to have come right before their release.
Hawk wanted to call Ace out on his idiocy for risking his life but was too busy shooting at the unprotected stomach of the animal. It was already bleeding heavily and he hoped this was going to be enough to finish it off.
Ace also sent a few [Bolt Arrows] and [Acid Splashes]. It was all he could do while it was in the air.
Or maybe not.
"Shadow Dash!" he said jumping high up. First and foremost he made sure to get on top of the animal and only then he started his stabbing business again. The spikes were growing quickly but not fast enough.
Another explosion split them apart.
The creature crashed into the ground letting out a last ear-splitting screech while Ace did a summersault and landed safely on his feet.
Without any word said he went running towards a giant which was trying to step on Monthu but so far unsuccessfully. It was constantly being hit by fireballs which were clouding its eyesight and pushed by forces of winds.
"What took you so long?" Monthu asked while hitting the giant's foot with the end of his scythe.
"Sorry" Ace answered to make it shorter and stabbed a few times. The explosion took him away but it had no effect on the giant. Ace doubted he even felt it.

A shower of arrows distracted the giant and Ace had time to return to the fight. White light enveloped his running body and he felt energy returning. "Thanks!"
On the way he exchanged [Flare] with [Bolt Arrow]. It was the usual tactic against the giants but it could take hours to work out so he never put much trust in it. The better way was for Par and Worglan to cast one of the most damaging spells [Meteor Shower].
It was extremely powerful sending large rocks from the space falling on a selected field but it took twenty minutes to cast. A crazily long time.
"We'll start now!" Worglan announced stopping the onslaught of fireballs and starting a very difficult chant. Par followed his lead repeating the words and filling them with magical energy.
"The fun begins" Ace said with a laugh and jumped on the giant’s leg to actually find a place unprotected by armor where he could deal some damage. Near the knee he found a place where pieces of metal were adjoined leaving a small gap. Small in giant standards, human sized in Ace's.
He took out two longer daggers, almost the length of a sword, infused them with the same spells and started stabbing while sitting on the leather that kept the metal pieces together.
The giant didn't seem to be feeling his attacks at all. It even stayed quite still trying to hit Monthu with its club for a change.
"This is stupid" Ace murmured feeling like a bee trying to kill an elephant with its sting. A somewhat hopeless endeavor.
His saddle moved and he grabbed onto a side to keep his balance. One of his daggers clattered down.
"He's going for the mages!" Hawk shouted out in panic.
"It's too early!" Ace screamed trying to stand up without falling after his weapon. It had been only what, five minutes? The giant shouldn't have noticed them so quickly.
"I know!" Hawk answered releasing a volley but the giant blocked them with a wave of his hand and kept on going to his target. He could feel the magic gathering and instinctively knew to get close to destroy it before it could become dangerous for him. "Do something!"
"What exactly?" Ace asked looking for a way to stop the moving mountain. He could use [Ice Field] but then the giant would fall right on the mages which would be counterproductive. Vines were nowhere near strong enough to hold him, the same as [Gust]. Poison was useless against this one too. He was way larger than the one they had fought near the mountain side or others walking in this mist. Could he be the boss or just higher level?
But it was not the time to dwell on such questions. Hawks arrows were falling short by being blocked while Monthu was pretty useless from the start. He was good only as a distraction while others actually did the damage. So it was up to Ace to do something, to save the day.
'Think, think, think... There must be a way!' he encouraged himself swaying on the leather hold and racking his brain for an answer.
It was empty so he did what was his solution for every problem was. Action.
He started climbing up for another free space to be attacked. There was no easily accessible one so he kept on going. The giant didn't even notice him, concentrated on his targets so Ace went higher and higher until he was climbing on hair.
Then he was noticed and the giant went to hit his head trying to squash Ace into a pancake. The kid didn't feel like becoming one so he jumped on another strand congratulating himself on stopping the monster for a second and thinking of any way to get out of this alive.

His eyes landed on a giant blue orb to his right.
'Another gamble?' Ace asked himself with a smile and started climbing again. A giant hand moved dangerously close so he jumped to another strand of hair and quickly moved up and to the right.
When he was above the giant's eye, Ace released his hold on the hair and plunged downwards. In an instant he took out a dagger, "Acid Splash!" he hissed drenching it in the eroding substance and pushed it right into the blue orb leaving it there.
Another terrible scream penetrated the air that day.
Ace hoped his stunt was enough to distract the creature from getting to the mages and now was busy thinking up ways not to hit the ground at full force. "Wild Vines!" he said trying to catch onto them and get on the giant again but the monster was moving so frantically the vines, the moment they spawned, were already too far away for Ace to latch onto.
His plight seemed to be imminent.
Ace used [Gust] underneath himself to slow himself down and for the same reason outstretched all the limbs. Hopefully, that was going to leave him at least a few health points so Aurora could heal him.
Whooosh!
Something rushed past grabbing him on the way. Its claws dug into his shoulders and rising his head Ace saw the silhouette of a white Roc carrying him. Since when were they here too? He hadn't seen any flying monsters around the place even though they had been hunting for a few days now.
Not that he was complaining. Everything that saved his life was welcome to appear at any given time.
To his surprise he was gently lowered to the ground and the monstrous bird went to peck the giant's head maddening him even more. In a way it was good since it was now trying to hit the flying creature instead of going for mages.
"How long has it been?" he asked running to Hawk. The archer was standing still as a statue watching the bird's flight through narrowed eyes. "It's too slow." "What?" "The bird. It's going to get hit soon."
Ace wanted to curse loudly. A savior appeared but it was inefficient. Stupid bird pretending to be a hero yet failing.
"Speed of Light! Shadow Control! Cat's reflexes!" a familiar voice shouted from nearby and Ace saw all the buffs hitting the Roc. It instantly became faster, its form a bit blurred.
"Nice to see you again" the kid said without even having to turn back. "Just what are you doing here?"
"Saving your hides, what else?" Nein asked coming to stand beside them. "And it looks like I'm successful."
The bird now escaped every hit with ease and managed to lead the giant quite some distance away.
"Who's that?" Hawk asked motioning with his head towards the white bird.
"Let me guess, it's Rowena" Ace said with dry amusement in his voice.
"You remember her? She thought you'd have forgotten her the moment she was gone."
"I don't forget faces nor their names" Ace said watching the fight and feeling kind of disappointed. He was supposed to solve the situation. It wasn't fun getting saved. At all.
Feeling instantly bored he sat down and took out a couple of daggers. Back in the city he had bought a number of them emptying a few shops or close to that. The blades in his possession had a tendency to get eroded or stuck in something without being able to be retrieved. It was tough fate serving him.
Not that the daggers complained.
Ace gently brushed over the flat side enjoying its cool surface. He took out a couple of crystal clear bottles from his bag and spilled them over the blades. They glistened for a second before returning to their normal outlook. Now they were poisoned but only a person with identification skill could tell what kind of.
The kid had no such thing so for him it was going to be the old fashioned testing way. But the time was not right so he pocketed the weapons and took out a new pair marking with which elixir which blade was purged.
"What are you doing?" Nein asked sitting down beside him.
Ace raised his head for a second to glance with annoyance before returning to his work. "Did it look like I needed company?"
"One always needs company."
The kid didn't even acknowledge it with a reply making sure the elixir was distributed well over the blade. It would be a disaster if he discarded a good poison because it had all pooled up near the handle and the point had almost none.
"Are you ignoring me?" Nein asked incredulously. The kid he remembered was softer and more well-mannered.
"May I ask who exactly are you?" Hawk said finally turning to the newcomer. He had black hair, almost beady eyes and a beard to compliment that. Light brown cloak showed him to be a caster but doubtfully an elementalist. They all preferred a certain shade of their color.
"I'm Ne-"
"Perry's lapdog" Ace said cutting the guy off. "No need to remember any name."
"The girl who..?"
"Yep, the same one."
"Why did he save us then?" Monthu asked coming to their group. He was holding his weapon loosely but Ace could see the threat in it. One wrong word and Nein was going to taste steel since he wasn’t going to leave on his own.
"The same reason she did" Ace said motioning with his head to the flying bird. "They are here to spy on me and it would be too much of a bother to go look for me at a spawn place now that they had found me."
"I thought you said you'd leave all your businesses at the city?"
"I did but these two are a different breed. I last saw them at the same time as you, in that inn."
"You sure?"
"Yes, I've been helping a damsel in distress lately which had nothing to do with real players" Ace answered making sure not to touch the newly poisoned blade. He needed it tested but not on himself. "How much longer?" he asked, directing his question to Hawk.
"A few minutes. You can already see the signs."
Hearing that Ace pocketed his last dagger and stood up with a resigned expression. "I don't think he'll keep chasing then."
Right on his words the giant saw the reddening sky with his left eye and swiftly turned around, starting to run towards the mages. His massive steps shook the ground.
"Water frozen up in time rise and swallow this place in your icy grip, let the wrong doers be washed and cleaned of impurities which dirty your beautiful face, Ice Field!" Ace chanted out the whole incantation to strengthen the spell.
A wide field became glisteningly see-through blue. But the giant was in too much hurry to notice it. So his foot slipped and even though he tried to right himself the surface was too slippery. He fell face first breaking the ice and giving mother earth a lingering kiss.
Hawk took out three razor sharp arrows and with cold precision shot them at the giant’s neck. They wore no helmets but their heights protected them against most aerial attacks. However, now that he lay on the ground, it was an easy target.
The scythe was on it also. Monthu having used [Dash] was cutting at the neck with all his power before the giant managed to get his wits around himself and stand up.
"Shackles of earth that bind the unwary, Wild Vines!" Ace said another spell casting it on the giant's hands. They held for a few seconds but he cast it again and again keeping the monster on the ground and preventing it from attacking Monthu or the mages.
"One minute!" Hawk said firing each shot around the same spot on the giant's neck. Numerous arrows were already embedded there and together they were starting to make a difference. The skin had turned red and the giant kept rising one side of its mouth in a growl like expression.
Ace saw the giant close to lifting himself up so he cast another [Ice Field] which made his hands slip and kept him from standing up awhile longer.
"Monthu get away, it’s done!" Hawk shouted out which was a signal for Ace to keep the monster in place. The kid went to cast a gazillion of vines without even waiting for the previous ones to be broken. They were like silk threads to the giant but the shear amount of them kept him occupied for some time.
That little time was all Worglan needed to aim the spell he and Par had been chanting for the last twenty minutes and release it.
In an instant the sky from lightly tinged pink turned crimson red and human sized rocks with fiery tails started to fall. Their flight was short quickly ending on a giant’s body who screamed from the pain. His armor didn't hold and the heat was melting it right on his body. If that wasn't enough, the height from which the stones fell made them feel like being hit by hundreds of elephants. Each one of them. And there were hundreds of those stones coming down, all aimed at the ground where the giant was sprawled out.
Ace's eyes were glued to the sight. It was a terrible spell but a very beautiful one. It was much better than any fireworks.
From the corner of his eyes he could see Aurora on the nearby hill with her back to the sight. She was holding Par's hand and keeping him away too.
Ace knew why she would do it but still found it stupid. Wasn't gore a traveler's companion? No matter how much you would try every fight was a bloody thing and even if corpses disappeared, you had to kill them for it to happen. And every attack left a mark on your opponent's body which rarely was a good sight.
Once the shower of stones had ended Ace ran onto the newly maid hill of stones and went to look for treasure. He was the most agile one so it fell on him to find where the loot had fallen. No one else dared to risk their lives on the trembling surface.
Something shining caught his eye and he jumped down between two stones. As he expected there lay his prize.
It was a golden ring that could go around his waist with some space to spare.
"This time it's one for the little finger!" he shouted out to his group trying to somehow get out of the hole with his treasure.
"Another ring?" Hawk asked annoyed. "How many does it make it now? Five, six?"
"Seven, actually" Monthu said checking his bag. "If this continues, I don't think I'll be able to carry much more."
"Why do you take them then?" Nein asked. "Just leave them and be done with it."
"What if there's a quest associated with them?" Ace said, finally out. He only needed to get to everyone without falling into any other holes which happened pretty often when he was dragging a heavy ring after him. "We haven't found any similar ones."
"Really?" Nein asked interested. Quests that were started by collecting specific items were hard to find because there were no similar ones. Once done the mission was gone. So they were rare and usually gave great rewards.
"Yep!" Ace said with a smile throwing the ring down. It fell straight up ready to roll away so Ace jumped on it from the stone he had been standing on. He wavered trying to keep his balance while running on the ring, but didn't manage to right himself up and in moments was lying flat on the ground.
"Hey, are you okay?" Aurora asked running to him with a healing spell on her lips but Ace just laughed. "That was fun!"
"But you got hurt!"
Ace looked at his health bar who had lost some seven percent. "That's not getting hurt. It's just a scratch."
While Aurora stood still unsure of whether she should berate him further, Monthu came and picked the ring. "I'll take it before you kill yourself."
Ace pouted. Just because he could. And then stood up dusting his clothes off. "I think we should get going. With those two around we can farm much faster."
"We should change our strategy then" Hawk said. "The mages could start casting right away while I and Ace take care of Spoars and Monthu with them keep the giant distracted."
"That could work" Monthu agreed and it was decided.
On the way to the next fight Ace went to chat to Par. He had promised the kid a nice hunt and hoped he was having fun, although he doubted that casting a twenty minute long spell was anything interesting.
However, his fears showed up to be unfounded. Par avidly talked about how amazing it was to have such influence on the fight, how uplifting it was to feel the power of the spell building itself up and then releasing it, to see its power and know it was your making. He shared how strong Worglan was and that he was teaching him spells while nobody was looking. This Par said into Ace's ear so no one could hear it. Ace smiled at it all, showed appropriate expressions and kept getting surprised at how little the kid needed to be happy. He was enjoying every single moment of his life. As long as nothing bad happened he was the happiest person alive.
It was somewhat contagious so Ace found himself smiling a bit wider too.
He knew that happy things came with a price, a large suffering afterwards, but took them with an open heart anyway. Joy was a fleeting thing while pain always came. It was the way of humans to keep suffering to move onwards.
"Giant and three Spoars!" Hawk announced. He had the sharpest eyes out of all of them and could see shapes even in the fog that surrounded them. Not that it made him any happier about it being here. He liked precision and it wasn't possible in the fog.
"Can you take them on?" Monthu asked taking a better grip of his weapon.
"If we have to, we will" Ace answered with self-assuredness coming from countless battles won on a simple decision to come out victorious.
"It'll be a chall-" Hawk started to say when Nein started to chant. His words were simple to understand; blessings.
He said tenths of them and with each one all party members felt themselves growing stronger, faster, more sure footed and quicker to react. Everything from muscle power to decision making, from emotion control to movement one was increased. Not a single thing was left unchanged. Aurora had only divine blessings to add after that.
"But you're not a shaman" Rowena said surprised. They were the class meant for increasing teammates' strength having access to both clerical and wizardly spells.
"I'm not" Nein agreed sitting down on a patch of grass. "My work is done so go and have a try at fighting now. You should feel a slight difference, I believe."
"What class are you then?" Rowena asked again. She hadn't seen anything like that before. The guy had a humongous amount of buffs and all of them were high level.
"A mage" Nein answered with a half-smile. He knew he was a mystery but wasn't eager to explain how and why. Safety was only in unpredictability.
"We have been noticed!" Hawk said preventing Rowena from asking anything else. "We have to get moving!"
"Got it," everyone said and went to their designed positions starting up their work.
Monthu attracted the giant's attention by cutting at its feed that were only protected by leather shoes. It wasn't any real threat to the humanoid but seeing only one little creature they liked to play with them. When it was solely focused on Monthu, Rowena turned into a Roc again and went to assist him while Hawk and Ace went for the Spoars.
They were like guard dogs to the giants and most were fine with only one. But not this one clearly as he had three with him.
"Cover me, I'll try to get close" Ace said and his reply was a volley of arrows directed at the Spoars which made them turn their spikes into a defensive shield.
It was all Ace could have asked for and he approached them from the side where they could see their master getting attacked. This triggered their protective instinct going into attack mode and stretching out their spikes to be thrown at a designed target.
But from the last time he knew it wasn't going to be him so he bravely ran at them casting [Acid Splash] and [Bolt Arrow]. The first spell destroyed some spikes while dealing damage over time and the second stunned them.
To his surprise Ace saw an additional effect it had. The electric shock ran through the creatures' muscles making them spasm for a quarter of a second but it was all it took for the spikes to fall out lifelessly.
"This is amazing" Ace muttered stabbing and seeing how much deeper his daggers went in.
"What did you do?" Hawk asked suddenly wary. Only after a few moments he noticed that the spikes weren't thrown out but were lying by the kid's feet.
"Used my spells right for once! Who would have known they worked in this way too?" Ace answered between the attacks.
"-ful!" Hawk screamed out but Ace was too busy to hear it fully. He half turned to see what the archer wanted and following his gaze saw a whole Spoar amount of spikes right before his face.
His first plan would have been to run but his instincts took the better of him and he fell to the ground. "Wild Vines!" he screamed out feeling his skin getting pierced. They rose up protecting him somewhat but they were no shield.
Right as he thought that he saw a white barrier coming to life before him. It was see through and paper thin but all attacks got deflected and spikes fell harmlessly beside it.
It lasted for all the five seconds before disappearing but it had been enough. Ace felt light magic surrounding him when he stood up and used [Shadow Dash] to get on his attacker who was now defenseless. He stabbed its neck with [Magma Blade] and [Backstab] while using [Acid Splash] to cover the wound. There was no mercy for those who had gotten close to killing him.
The creature screeched and squirmed under him, trying to get rid of an unwanted rider but it was not to come true. Ace now had enough power in his legs to stay seated and keep repeating his attacks until the Spoar went still and turned into grey mist.
When he was finished, Ace turned to see how Hawk was doing against the other two.
He was more than the kid expected.
Hawk was running and jumping, rolling and skipping to evade the Spoars' melee attacks all while shooting arrows at their weak spots. Faces, bellies, joints and where the spikes hadn't regrown after having fallen off because of Ace's magic.
The kid thought about leaving him to his devices but after remembering the shouted warning decided to help.
"Bolt Arrow!" he shouted out stunning one creature for a second. "Ice Field!" he said again, this time going for the slippery surface. Then he jumped on it sliding to one of the targets and slashed a few times with [Magma Blade]. It melted the almost formed spikes reaching the soft skin where a wide gash opened up.
Animal screeched-oinked in pain and tried to stand, get back to Ace but its legs slipped repeatedly, making it unable to do anything but vent out its frustration in sound.
Two arrows came penetrating its skull and silencing it.
Ace turned to see Hawk fighting the last Spoar which had its spikes back. This proved to be a problem for the archer since he had no way of getting past them.
"Need help?"
"Sure."
Hearing that Ace ran straight at it. This time the creature seemed to have learned from her friends' mistakes and aimed its attack right at the kid.
This was exactly what Ace wanted. "Bolt Arrow!" he said with a chuckle and threw a dagger right between its eyes. The creature stood still for a second, unable to comprehend why its spikes fell off instead of getting thrown at the target, this way receiving the blade. It didn't kill it but dealt significant damage and before Ace could get any closer, Hawk finished it off with his arrows.
"What was that shield that saved me? I never knew Aurora had it" Ace said coming to the archer and sitting down beside him. Their work was done for now. All they had left was to wait for the mage's to cast their spell.
"Because she doesn't have it" Hawk answered, also sitting down. "She prefers to learn healing spells instead of shielding ones. Says it is more useful."
"Hm?" Ace asked releasing an unintelligible sound. He took a stalk of grass and started to twist it around his fingers.
"You don't really care about it, do you?" Hawk asked with a sigh. "All you want to know is who cast the shield?"
Ace smiled lightly and nodded. Sometimes actions were more expressive than words.
"It's called Arrow of Reflection. A somewhat useless spell in most cases because I have to shoot an arrow and it must travel at least twenty meters for it to work."
"But it creates a shield that blocks everything!" Ace said surprised. Such a skill was one of the best around.
"Not exactly. Only missiles and if any one was shot from further away than my arrow it breaks. Otherwise it lasts for five seconds so nothing much in the best of cases" Hawk said shaking his head. He was looking at Monthu who was dancing around the giant's feet. The scytheman's moves were quick and precise, nothing of the frantic running around done in previous fights. A large white bird was flying around pecking at the giant's face or pulling its hair from time to time. This was more than enough to keep the creature occupied and not feeling any danger at all.
"It's still amazing. The archer class doesn't look as useless as I thought before" Ace said sharing his genuine opinion.
"Thanks" Hawk muttered sarcastically. "I really appreciate it."
Ace ignored it and continued. "Maybe they really have their uses." Then he turned to Hawk, "Thanks for today. I wouldn't have liked trying out the respawn."
"Haven't you died yet?" Hawk asked surprised.
"Nope. I don't see a reason why I should."
"It rarely has anything to do with a person's wants..."
Ace shrugged. He had skill, mind capability and enough luck to survive any situation. Something not every person could pride himself in.
"Do you know those two people well?" Hawk asked, nodding towards the newcomers. "They seem suspicious."
Ace looked at the white bird flying around Monthu. "Rowena is nothing to worry about. She's a spoiled girl who’s learning to live on her own or that's how I was informed. From my personal experience she's not a very outspoken person, feels very comfortable around Par and does any kind of work if it needs to be done," his eyes shifted to Nein. "However that one shouldn't be accepted easily. He's high level, is Perry's right hand and the only one she sometimes listens to. I wouldn't trust that man even if his survival was in my hands."
"Did he do anything to deserve it?"
"He gave me an elixir to drink which turned me into his puppet. Then he took ages to get me back to normal."
"That is pretty troubling."
"You don't say..." Ace said rolling his eyes.
He saw the sky was reddening and prepared to do his work. It was time to kill the giant.
Burning stones turned sky crimson repeatedly afterwards and soon the field was empty of any large living beings. Not a single giant walked or a Spoar oinked happily finding a tasty patch of grass. Fog was the only thing that remained beside a group of travelers.
That party of humans was going deeper into the valley and it was growing thicker with each step. They had to hold onto each other to stay together and not get lost. However, their progress was extremely slow. Now and then they would leave the path and walk in a wrong direction. This would be corrected after leaving the thickest fog and then they would try again.
A time came when no matter how many times they walked, they always got sidetracked. It frustrated them to no end wanting to see what was on the other side of the fog but being unable.
In the end one of them stopped, when once again they walked back, and turned to a golden haired kid.
"What?" he asked at the accusing look.
The man pointed at his eyes. Ace thought and thought until a memory of some time back came back to him. He sighed. Meditating wasn't one of his strengths but whatever. He could try it for the better good of everyone.
So he sat down and closed his eyes.
Author's Note:
So to say it bluntly I'm short on money and don't want to go to Denmark to only eat bread with water that's why I decided to make something of my story. This one. For that I need to do some heavy editing, find all the plot holes and remove stupid scenes. (There are still those in the beginning that every time I think of them they make me want hide in the corner.) That is why I'd like to ask you guys to help em out in that. If any of you have some time to read through the first three "volumes" and say what plot mistakes you can find, it would be a HUGE help. As they say two pairs of eyes is always better than one.
If I'm lucky someone will want to release my story and then someone else to read it.
And it sounds stupid and desperate even to my own ears but that's my best chance at surviving on my own until I can find a job that can be adjusted to my studies. Wish me luck people! I'll need tons of it :D

Star Wars X Mass Effect
Like the title says, it's a crossover between Star Wars and Mass Effect. I'm using both the Star Wars Legends continuity and my personal playthrough of Mass Effect Trilogy for the story. This is actually my first fan fiction ever, so sorry in advance if chapters feel like summaries or my writing in general is off.

8 141Just Some Guy
Available in Paperback and Kindle Look, I used to be just some guy… But then I made some changes… My job was like jail, now time and space cannot even contain me. When this whole thing started, well let’s skip ahead. The start of the story isn’t nearly as interesting as where I ended up. It all started with a dead body and an explosion… But what you really need to know is that, I used to be a loser, then I got jacked and went on my own adventure… After the explosion I took off west, expecting, well what does it matter what I was expecting? What I found was an epic adventure! Who would have thought that could happen to a former loser like me? I became a criminal, a musician, traveled through time, battled beings that shouldn’t exist and took part in a high stakes tournament. But that’s not the half of it! My editor says this blurb thing should be around 200 hundred words, but why don’t you just go ahead and buy the book to get the full story? “God does not play dice with the universe.” -Einstein (Sort of) “However, it’s entirely possible he’s using Me as his personal sitcom.” -Some Guy
