Akor wasn’t happy in the least with leveling up or killing all his enemy. He was now level 3 and 2 levels from being kicked out of the Tutorial zone. He really wanted to use his time as best as possible but looking at the number of enemy compared to the first time, he knew that it was going to be hard.
He remembered that there were safeguards for new players but he didn’t know all the facts. For one the fact that the invasion rate was small and depending on his total population. That means the more villages he makes the more enemies that can enter.
Another thing that left him distressed was the casualties. 30 imps died from that sneak attack and because the Strigoi were a magic user race. Although they were greatly limited by the level limit, they were a close range magic user race. Akor felt this close up when it easily flung him while still using magic to blend into the night.
Fighting was obviously his weakest point, he had no skill and was never into fighting. These two wave-like attacks made him keenly aware that it was very dangerous to remain outside of a village without a proper army.
The imps were simply too undisciplined and he was no better with combat based management. He suddenly remembered the face of a certain someone and raised a brow.
He decided that he would first capture and make the next village first.
The rest of the night had no more attacks while the 30 dead were buried. There were half of the survivors who were majorly injured and had to rest a long time.
By morning most of them had fully healed besides the ones with missing limbs. Akor was very thankful to the one legged one. The injured were finally healed and Akor looked at the remaining 50 odd imps. A number of ropes were cut but he had made many extra for such a case if it were to happen with the monster.
He decided that he would continue to hunt. He successfully took one of the mana springs with fewer before and a lot less preparations so how could he fail this time?
He pushed the imps the next morning and they reached the mana spring. It was in a rare space of flatter land in the middle of the mountains. The mountains were a longer distance apart and the valley river crossed right next to it. The mana pool itself was only about 60 meters from the waters edge making this a perfect place for food production, even more so than Sanity but what really made this place interesting was that the first true trees could be seen nearby. The wild life was also more vibrant with many more monsters and animals as well as fish being available.
The difficulty of this village would be that it was at the bottom of a valley. Anyone from a higher vantage point would definitely make defending rough meaning he would have to set up the defense early. Thankfully, this area had a lot of wood which would be slowly extracted as the foresters worked.
As for the creatures inhabiting this area, it was actually a large pack of wolves. It had no alpha but the average level was level 4 but they were all animals.

Akor looked at them from far and thought a while before deciding to tame them. He would do this now because the wolves weren’t common wolves. They were the famous Dire Wolves, they were twice as big as normal wolves but they were considered animals by the system and not monsters. The distinct difference of animals and monsters is the ability to instinctively use magic. Animals have skills but only by becoming a monster do they gain mana which is the main reason beastmen are powerful physical fighters but they never have a magic user.
These would actually be a great mount and would make the best ‘cavalry’ or at least the basic form of one. It was actually something Akor wanted to do to the goats since they have their ‘rush’ skill which would make a great cavalry charge skill. The difference could even be between heavy and light cavalry.
There were 20 wolves and 53 capable imps so without any waiting, Akor just ordered them to capture the wolves.
Some imps worked as bait and the others ambushed the wolves coming after them. Akor obviously organized this plan and watched from higher up.
The wolves were lead to the nearby woods and when they entered, the imps threw the bolas and dropped lasso on them.
The wolves were suddenly pulled and scrambled and all rapidly collapsed with the trap.
They yelped and whined while the imps appeared from the woods and surged out. They beat the wolves to an inch of their life but this was part of the taming process. You weaken them and then use food to tame it. Akor was the only one here with the skill since the ranchers were tending the goats.
He came out with their rations and tamed them one by one. It took quite a long time before he finished using a lot of meat to tame them all, especially some stubborn but after a few hours he eventually succeeded.
The wolves were released and were towering over the imps with their 135 cm tall height while the imps ranged from 1 meter to 120 cm.
They were perfect for mounts and added a great and powerful creature to his side but the problem now was breeding them and properly training them to be ridden.
Akor set up his third village in this clearing where the wolves had lived and the mayor’s house and the demon house and nest appeared.
Like the village of prosperity, the Demon Heart was in the center of the village and not in the mayor’s house.
Akor suddenly felt pain as his body began to grow once more but it wasn’t as painful as the second time when his body underwent rapid growth.
His body still did hurt as his muscles, brain, horns and nerves all developed with the addition of the points.
After him, the minions all shouted in pain and grew a little themselves which was the minion buff they get from the demon heart. The one with the lost limbs didn’t regrow it, regretfully, remaining crippled but Akor did not mind it.
He checked his status and that of an imp to see their current buff.

He pulled up the screen of the leg crippled imp who he was leading to warrior class when it appeared but now it seemed inappropriate for him. Still the buff was good, intelligence was growing quicker while the rest had a slow increase but the quality of his minions would definitely grow much better as time goes by.
He decided to name the village Hope. The reason for this was because of what happened the previous night as well as the vibrant environment around here which would indeed give one hope since they would be coming from the Hellish Badlands and this might be the first beautiful scenery they would find.
Akor didn’t return at once, the imps were tired and he did not want to leave and have to stay out during the night once more so he decided to use the healthy imps to rapidly build up this place. He sent some to gather wood and others to gather stone before placing down the construction zones for the many necessary buildings like farms, foresters hut, imp huts, village wall, all of the above and then some more.
This even included Minogida nest but because no minogida lived here, he had to remotely set two newborn minogida to move to this village through a minion quest.
At the same time, he put Hope village mayor house to research the Bash [Warrior - Club] skill to unlock the warrior class alongside the Mana bolt spell for the mage.
He needed to unlock combat classes, he saw this need being extremely great the last night so he was finally forced to focus on combat skills.
After he set up the construction of the village he logged off and looked into the dark apartment.
The sun was almost down and the clock showed 7:36 pm. It was summer going into autumn so the sunlight hours were slowly decreasing but it was still quite long.
His stomach rumbled so he ate a cup of noodles and then looked at the door.
After a while he got up and walked to the door. He opened the door and left his house after locking up and going to the first floor and walked to the employee at the register.
“Good evening, can i ask you something?” he asked.
“Yes, what do you need sir?” she asked with a business smile.
“Can you tell me the apartment of… um… Sam… Ah Sam Jolie.” he asked.
“Miss Jolie’s apartment is on the 4th floor apartment 408.” The woman replied.
“Thank you.” He replied and went back to the elevator and pressed the 4th floor and went to her door. He felt awkward but still rang her doorbell.
After about a minute, the entrance monitor appeared.
“Who is it?!” she shouted and looked out.
“It’s me.” he replied.
She blinked a bit and doubled checked before grinning, “What do you need?” She asked.
“I need some advice.” He replied.
She began to chuckle with a smug smile as the screen turns off and the door opened showing the girl with the same smug grin.
“Come in!” she said.
He sulked into the apartment and was overwelmed. “What’s with all the pink?” He asked.
“Is there a problem with pink?!” Sam pouted.
“Nothing just got curious.” he replied.
Indeed the living room which was the same size as his own, was filled with pink furniture that made it look like a doll house. It wasn’t just the color but the decoration style was incredibly girly.
“You have strange taste for a grown woman.” he said.
“What is so strange about it?!” She frowned, “My father, mother, sister and even grandmother went with me to purchase all these pieces. My dad was against it but my grandmother helped me out.” She said with a triumphant smirk on her face.
Lucas felt sorry for her father having to deal with three generations of women alone.
“So what did you need?” She asked sitting down.
Lucas looked around and picked a seat facing her, “Teach me how to set up a basic village or town guard.” he said.
She looked at him blinking and raised her brow, “What happened?” she asked.
Akor rubbed his head and explained the ambush and the poor vigilance of the imps.
“Ah~! So that’s it. You need to train some captains under a lot of pain, beating army tactics into their bodies and let them do the same to the others.” She said.
“How do we do that with stupid imps?” he asked.
“Add a lot of Intelligence to make them smarter of course. My grandpa said that 20 intelligence will give an imp the mentality of a grown human adult so after reaching that it will be more or less.” she replied and suddenly sat up, “Oh right, did you hear about the Lord’s ‘Royal Followers’?” She asked.
“Is that from the TV or your grandfather?” he asked.
“TV. It was explained early this morning. All lords can have a limited number of bound minions. These creatures revive if they are killed. They are given a special title binding them to the the lord and it is permanent.” She said.
“What is the point of that?” he asked.
“It is to get the most loyal followers. These Royal followers are 100% loyal, they are unable to betray you.” She said.
Lucas looked shocked when he heard that before falling into deep thought. “Have you had any minions get crippled?” he asked.
“You mean lose a limb?” she asked.
Lucas nodded.
“I have a few but they are pretty useless.” she said.
“What do you do with them?” Lucas asked.
She just shrugged.
Lucas sighed and she asked what happened for him to ask.
Lucas explained what happened to the one legged imp and how it saved him even though it had one leg.
Sam looked at him blankly before her face turned serious and she sat up in a serious manner. “That reminded me of one of my virtual masters. He was similar to it, he lost a leg. I will say this, get it to adapt to being one legged and it can easily take up fighting again but it will be a simple style.” she said.
“I expected it to be as much but i am wondering if i really need it to be a close range fighter?” he said.
“I would suggest you to make it a combat class. Since you want to reward it so much though, get a combat class and give it the Militia class, the most basic city guard class, and make him a ‘Royal’.” She said.
“Will it make his limb regrow?” Lucas asked.
“No, why would it?” She asked sarcastically, “No, the Royal Title gives 1 extra point per Demon Heart to their classes primary stat. This will make them better later on compared to their peers so that they can properly act as a mini-boss like elite among your minions.” She said.
Lucas understood but he was having a hard time believing a one legged imp would do well. “What if i change it to the magic route?” he asked.
“I wouldn’t do that really, although imps are the origin of demons and are magical, they aren’t the best at learning it. Some animal hybrids are much better for that.” She said.
Lucas leaned back and looked upwards sighing before thinking of something. “Are there hybrid classes?” he asked.
“Those are kinda hard to unlock but they do exist. They need to learn the other skills and they will have slower skill development speed on skills not related to its class.” she replied.
“That is good enough.” He said finally relaxing.
“So teach me how to set up a city guard. I am not really good at this. I don’t even know the ranks properly. Help me make the hierarchy of the system, even if it is a basic one.” He said.
“That is pretty easy.” She said and got up before going to her room and came out with a notebook and opened to a page with a very simple layout. “I already set up a basic army for myself and this is what i did. I have the basic guard class as well.” She said.
Guards
Militia
Trash NPC basic class.
Equal to trainee in an organized army.
Guard
Common NPC class.
Common guard class which is an NPC warrior class.
Sargent
A title given to a stronger guard minion.
A category ranking to indicate a stronger leader who commands a squad.
Captain
A higher rank title given by the lord for a much stronger guard minion.
A category ranking to indicate a Squadron leader leading several squads. They have to be much stronger to induce order.
Commander
Highest ranked title for a town grade city guard.
A category ranking to indicate a battalion leader leading several squadrons. They are the strongest minions among the guards.
“It says here that these are rankings?” He asked.
“Yeah, i don’t know the classes after Guard but lords can give titles just like the Royal title for their bound minions. These titles are command titles which give incentive to improve the minions charisma to lead their troops. For these, you need a mixture of intelligence and Charisma or else they will just randomly do the mob combat style.” She said.
“I see.” He mumbled, “How do players give out titles? And what are the restrictions?” he asked.
“Well, you can give them out to both minions, NPC and other players. That said, when you give a title, you have to have it premade already. The show explained that when the system realizes you want to give a title, it will open a special option to build the title but the stats and buffs of the title have to match its grade and quality. You can’t give an imp that hunted a wolf a title called Lone Wolf hunter with stats equal to a Dragonslayer title.” She said.
“That is fair.” Lucas replied nodding.
“Also…” She continued, “... the one receiving the title has to accept it so there is even a ceremony sometimes. Other times it could be something like ‘Friends of ‘your nation’’ which can improve trade and migration between nations and your minions and subjects.” She said.
“So it is very open. That is interesting.” He said nodding while looking back to the notebook and looking at the next page but it was empty and the other one had different notes. At that moment his eyes landed on ‘names’. He suddenly remembered something, “Why are minions not named?” he asked.
“Wild ones will have names but those spawned don’t until level 10. They explained this, it was done like this because to bind a royal follower, you need to name them. The rest unnamed will just get named by the system.” She replied.
“This reminds me of the system where named monsters are more powerful.” He said.
“That is a seriously old system, it's been a seriously long time since that was used. Most creatures are given name at birth. Demons as well except for lord’s which have spawned minions until level 10.” she said.
“I see, makes sense then. I guess that is pretty much all i had.” He said.
“Hey hey! What about me!?” She said.
“What about you?” he asked.
“You think you can come and go without giving me advice!?” she said and took the notes and showed him the large list of administrative content. He sighed and asked for a pen and the ones he was able to answer from experience he did while the rest he simply didn’t know and she didn’t push it much since he helped her with quite a few questions.
He left for his apartment and went back to the game finding the town mostly built. He waited for the night to pass and took with him only 45 imps, including those crippled while leaving the rest, and returned to the village of Sanity.
