I have been wanting to re-write this story for a very long time --Ever since I first dropped it, to be honest. It was started on the spur of a moment. I was writing the world of Dungeons at the time and reading a story about a pill bug, that I can no longer find. It was dropped, so I decided to write my own. I picked an ant as my main character because I wanted it to be fast-paced with a hundred evolutions and numerous skills.
we all know how the story turned out. It happened because I was planning the story to be only fifty chapters long, not the unending saga that it was trying to become.
However, this time things are different. The stakes are different (Yes, there are stakes.). The Mc is different. The story is different, or I should say, this time there is a story, a plot to move the characters along. This time I even know exactly where we are going and how we are reaching there.
This time it will be no adventure. You will be witnessing a word being taken apart and put back together with 5-6-99, a worker of the Ember Kingdom, right at the center of the chaos.

Spoiler: Synopsis
I was an ordinary worker ant of the Kingdom, one of the millions populating a spread of land ten kilometers long. I had an ordinary life: I dug, I ate, and I slept; and a dream that was shared by all workers who wanted to live a life of adventure. I was on the last day of my mandatory community service, a day from becoming one of the harvesters --the crown jewel of our society-- when fate played its sick joke on me.
I broke my mandible, lost my dream, and was almost forced into slavery as a result.

That’s when she came into my life, a princess. She had no wings on her back, but the wings inside her were wider than the fairies that roamed the sky. She took me under her wing and populated my life with adventures and mysteries unreserved for a mere harvester.
Life was good until we found termites sneaking into our territory. That’s when the adventures ended.
She was mocked for calling the termites a threat. However, she remained determined to protect her kingdom and I, to protect her. No matter the difficulties, I remained by her side. Because she was my princess, and I was her, Royal Guard.

Demetrius, a servant at the school who loses his home and his safety. Edits are ongoing. Reviews and comments will only help the editing the process, and I am grateful for any and all input. So, if you have been reading already, Jericho has been removed. It's been brought to my attention that his chapters detract from the flow of the narrative. They still exist, and are still going to be made available at some point in some way shape or form, but for the time being what happens with him and the king in Puissant city will be off camera so to speak.
