《Ant in Magic World.》18. Alone amidst strangers
Advertisement
The Bees travelled through the hive cutting corners like it was their playground, and finally after flying for like five minutes at bee speed, which is actually crazy fast, we arrived at the place they called the prison.
{Wind resistance has risen to lv 15}
Just a normal room full of different cells to secure the prisoners.
They told the two guards standing outside to open the door, ‘The meal has arrived’ they said and the guards complied, but not without making faces.
They looked at me and smirked, but when they came to understand the reason why I was brought there, their facial expressions changed.
“Do you want us to take care of him?”
And from the guards tone I understood that by care, he probably meant to handle my affair.
{Reading has risen to lv 4}
{Health regeneration has risen to lv 6}
“No, let this one rot inside. Don’t give him food, and no need to give the others food either. This fucker took a bite out of our next to be queen. Let them eat him.”
The guard stared daggers at me and replied,
“Okay.”
The guards nodded their heads, and the Bee holding me dumped me inside the cell.
I slide on the ground, moaned from the pain, and curled into a ball to give the almost dead vibe.
{Slide and Acting have risen to lv 8}
{Pain resistance has risen to lv 12}
But for some reason one of the bee workers from the larvae room looked at me with his saliva dropping on the floor. And that wasn’t a good thing to see.
“Hey, come on!”
“But can’t I play with him a little, just a little?!”
“Are you crazy? You know what time it is right? And we have to feed the kids too! Let’s go back there’s no time.”
“Sesh, okay, let’s go.”
And they flew away with a buzz, but not without making me a little curious.
{Anticipation has become lv 8}
I tilted my head a little to see what kind of things I was with, and saw that other than me, there were some bees inside the cell, taking care of a giant larvae. Which looked too identical to the one, I had eaten the face of.
In the room, there were other cells too. More than ten actually, and at the end were too cages. Cages which were too big to hold for insects like bees and ants.

{Health regeneration has risen to lv 7}
My cell mates looked at me curiously and whispered to each other’s, but fortunately seeing me on death bed and smelling like a poison stuffed ant, was enough for them to not try to make a snack out of me.

Shocked, Broken,
Seeing that I was already out of my death bed, I took a breath of relief. Though the poison and bleeding had done an almost instant job of me, but my regenerations had kicked up and saved my life.
I checked my wound and saw that nothing was leaking anymore, and it was recovering. A small patch had already formed from my extended regeneration, but understanding that it would take a large amount of time to heal, I decided to heal first and act later.
And thanked god for the hard surface and iron skin which had stopped the stinger from going all the way in and tearing me apart.
{Faith has risen to lv 6}
‘Everyone knows there is no way to join back too torn or cut body parts.’ I thought, and waited for some kind of forewarning message to come, but it didn’t, and I sighed.
And considering that I had some leverage at this time, I decided to evolve the rest of my pending skills.
The first one I chose to evolve was talk.
{Talk has reached its maximum level}
And is presenting you with the choice to:
Spread or hide.
It took me a moment to think what I wanted, because like always the options weren’t clear enough.
To spread or to hide? My voice or my ambitions? I considered the literal meanings of the words, which meant, they were asking me if I wanted my voice to spread far or to hide it. So I chose it to spread far, but unlike my expectations, and breaking the routine, a different kind of skill turned up.
A skill that was usable, very usable if one wanted to talk with someone.
*Ting*
[Skill: Whisper gained.]
Whisper: Allows you send silent whispers to your party members within one hundred meters of you.
Though it would have been an overpowered skill if it could let me Whisper to anyone. I could have pranked someone with it, but the skill itself wasn’t bad enough.

But it did make me think what the other option would have given me. A hidden means to talk maybe?
A chance to talk with me!
Anyways, I looked around after choosing the skill to see if my cell mated wanted to act groovy with me, but seeing that they were not too interested in a disgustingly fluid leaking and punctured ant, I carried on with my mission. Which was to recover completely.
The next skill I decided to evolve was the interrogation skill, thinking I might need it looking at the place I was in.
{Interrogation has reached its maximum level}
And is presenting you with the option to:
See the truth or create the truth.
'Ah! First evolution which is explaining the options properly.' I pumped my fists stealthily.
That was an emotional moment for me.
I choose to find the truth, though greed pounced around in my punctured chest, telling me to fuck the truth and create my own, but it had no power over my willpower.
‘At least for now.’
*Ting*
[Skill: lie detector gained.]
Lie detector: Helps you detect lies. But beware of getting caught. Detection depends upon subjects mental defense, your soul ability and skills level.
Maybe it made me too emotional, and I ended up attracting the Bees attention.
One bee with a hard back and long dark yellow legs walked toward me, but then the freakishly big larvae for a bee, said something to it and it stopped.
"Yes, the time will come in arena."
{Bee language has risen to lv 3}
I had already heard the word arena two times now, but I had no thoughts to know its meaning, or to play house with the Bees.
I had a plan to work on, which not only needed me to be patient, but also have some luck.
So next, I chose to evolve lucky. For obvious reasons.
{Lucky has reached its maximum level.}
And is presenting you with the option to go:
Against or with people
And I knew what I wanted to choose. There was no difficulty in this one. My greed wanted me to go against people and for the first time, I decided to not go against it.
*Ting*
[Skill: Chance gained.]
Chance: Simple chances which play against your enemies and make their skills go haywire. The possibility depends on the skill level and your luck.
[Skill: Lucky (10) has grown into High luck (1)]
And it showed its magic just as I got it.
The bee which was stopped by the larvae had decided to play with me.
And like every other bee, this one also had a minor control over electricity, and a skill to send sparks flying to some distance.
His mouth forming a smirk and his eyes squinting, looking like an evil bee, he sent a spark hurling toward me.
Which for some reason didn’t reach me.
Looking confused he sent another, which this time did reach, but passed about a mile over my head.
With his cheeks dyed red and his teeth gritted, he fired two more of those sparks and only one hit me. Even that spark for some reason didn't sting.
{High luck & Chance have risen to lv 2}
He then stopped altogether when the others behind him started laughing.
I knew without looking, the kind of face he was probably making, but decided to just let him be, until I fully healed.
So with full determination to kill the Bee once I fully recovered, I chose to evolve determination. Which for some obvious reason didn’t give me any options to choose, and instead fused with strong willed to create [Skill: Willpower.]
Willpower: Where there’s a will, there’s a way.
And a very obvious skill indeed.
When I tried to evolve battle tactics it outright refused and demanded that I first grow Skill: Planner to its maximum level, becoming my second skill which got left hanging because of my own neglect.
Although it sadened me that my skill wasnt acting its part, but I was happy too, because my status effects had finally cleared, and my health was finally out of the danger zone.
I wanted to see the changes that the evolition of bare handed mastery would bring it, but before I could do so a situation arose.
The bees stood up and walked toward the door to the cell.
"Hey."The one who had kept himself busy the entire time with me, asked the guard.
"Where’s our food? While the others are getting some, why aren’t we getting any?"
Hearing which the guard flinched and scratched his head in embarasment. Seeing which the bee relaxed, but that guard’s next words made the situation tense; for me that is.
"Haha... I'm sorry. I know that you all are hungry, having not eaten for so many days. But you all have already been served the food."
I knew something bad was coming. My max level foreboding skill wasn’t just for show, and then it happened.
The bees asked the guard when were they served and the guard spoke pointing at me, "There, that’s your food."
And for some reason, suddenly the cells temperature dropped by atleast 20 degress. Or maybe only I felt it and shivered, because the bee didn’t even move for some time after hearing that.

Life, the struggle for existence
What would happen when man had to, once again, fight for its own right to live? Would the evolutionary counterparts of our ancestors manage to life through the struggle for survival? What would happen to society if a new reason for living came up, other than the enjoyment of the well-built environment? A reason that could either unite or destroy humanity.This is the struggle for their right of existence.As earth and its inhabitants are faced with the fear of unknown danger and the peril of monstrosities, some will falter, some will die and some will live on to tell the tales of those forgotten. As reality dictates, most will be part of the first two groups and only a small faction will be part of the latter. *This is my first attempt at writing fantasy, so I do hope you’ll enjoy it. The story is one of apocalyptic nature, with gigantic monsters, unfathomable powers and also a critial view on humanity and what it means to be human. I will definitely try to stay away from any tropes that are not neccesary to write fantasy, as I thoroughly despise non-creativity. There shall be no harems, no unrealistic behavior and absolutely no standard scene of dimwitted bandits that try to rob whatever similarly rock-brained princess they encounter. The main character is not black and white, because no human is completely good or completely evil. They’re human, not some idealistic concept of what one is supposed to be. Enjoy!Warning: Tagged 17+ for the occasional strong language and violence, some mild sexual content can occur in the distant future.

Stories Of Indlu
“… to grow, for opportunity, for adventure, to be free. Join the colony ship Nao Vittoria. Be the first to live amongst the stars.” It was obvious from the literature that the NextStar corporation wanted the young, the adventurous and the brilliant. So why were the super rich fighting over seats? Why were AI’s trying to stow away? Did this signify a premature end to human/AI civilisation? Why had some questions directed to NextStar been aggressively sidelined? Why did the colonist inflight entertainment trial produce fatalities? In fact, why colonists at all? Those and many other questions, however, boiled down to a single central question. Why was the world’s most advanced AI dumped with a hundred year babysitting job for 50 million people speeding towards an uninhabitable planet? It made such little sense. The only sure way to get answers, catch a ride on the Nao Vittoria and play the inflight entertainment game, Pax Domini. I joined, and this is my story. Well, I feature. OK, I’m more of a spectator. Actually, I’m completely irrelevant I was just there. I’m only the storyteller. But what a story to tell. --------- Hi All, Content will be published weekly usually Saturday and typical posts will be 25oo to 4ooo words per post. Though for some reason the Royal Road word count does not include the content of tables so some posts may not appear to meet this criteria. Currently I have written sufficient unedited content to keep this schedule for the next 12 months (half way through the first story arc). My current productivity would indicate that I can maintain this schedule for well into the second story arch. This also allows for the additional content that will be posed exclusively on Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/StoriesOfIndlu). This additional content follows minor characters, peripheral events, maps and other content that does not take away from the main story. I would love to accelerate the post schedule but to meet this I need the assistance of more beta readers than I currently have. So please let me know if you are interested. - Andy ©2022 Andy Leauter. UNSPOKEN
Unspoken is a book filled with poems and songs I've made throughout my life. Each chapter will be either a song or poem. They are similar to what many of you have experienced in life... featuring love, heartbreak, loneliness, etc. These are all the emotions I was never able to let out so I chose to write them out on paper.
