I asked him to tell me why his face was swollen like an egg.
“Well, you didn’t come to the nursery last night. So, heee… they took out their anger on me.”
{Anger has become lv 3}
“That is that, but do we really have to go to the sissy training hall?”
Why won’t we go? After all its revenge time.
{Sudden enlightenment has changed Clear mind to Focused mind. Focused mind has changed to Focus.}
[Skill: Focus gained.]
Going the opposite way to the pit, we entered the soldier’s barracks.
I watched those muscle hounds revving their engines, and felt excited.
But a sudden nudge from my companion brought me back, and I focused on the upcoming fight.
{Focus has become level 2}
Entering the hall past a trench and a super narrow tunnel, which is just there for no reason we entered the hall.
{Climb has become lv 5}
{Balance has become lv5}
And there they were standing, in front of the big and mean looking officer, with their mandible shaking in sync.
Our eyes met in the middle. The bully smirked, and said something to the officer, who then glared at me.
The officer came to me and spoke, “So you are the greenhorn who thinks the job of a feeder is of a bottom scrubber!!”
*Ting*
[Skill: Confusion resistance has gained.]
I asked him what he meant, but he simply told the worker to get me a suit and told me to get ready.
I looked at my… friend ant… and he got shoved away by the workers. He looked at me with worried eyes, and the bully stood by his side.
Smiling, gesturing to comply or …
“I didn’t do anything!!” I yelled, but the officer didn’t listen to me, and the works pushed me into the room with the glass wall.
*Ting*
[Skill: Yell gained.]
The door locked behind me, as all of the ants present outside the room, stopped their work and stood at the glass wall.

I saw my friend trying, yelling something to the officer whose face then went through a sudden change of expression.
Our eyes met, and I saw him running over to his bench and pressing the open button, which failed to give any response, as the cage behind me opened slowly with a creek.
*Gulp*
{Ant sense has become lv 5}
I looked for information around the room, and saw a board with something written on it. It said:
Don’t die.
My heart beat rose, as the door opened and a plum looking white termite slowly came out of it.
Juice dripping from its orifice, my tension blew away as I saw the thing literally crawl out of the room.
The door then closed behind it and a sign flashed on the screen that said, ‘kill it.’
I looked between them both and noticed the little dot on its head.
I concentrated and it zoomed up.
I’ma kill you mutha fucka.
{Appraisal has become lv 3}
It said just that. Though I had hoped for it to provide some coherent information, but.
White termite. (Common)

I am confused.
{Confusion resistant has become lv 2}
Why does this someone, whose level is higher than me has so few skills
No, I shook my head. Let’s just focus on the task.
{Focus has become lv 3}
And then it happened.
A needle protruding out from the wall behind it stuck its behind.
And it roared.
{Fear resistance has become lv 3}
Oh boy.
Its white body turned red, and it ran toward me.
No, it charged, and I somehow rolled on the ground to save my ass.
*Boom*
{Roll has become lv 2}
*Ting*
[Skill: Evade gained.]
It stuck he glass panel behind me and made the whole room tremble.
Shaking its head it turned back, which was stupid of him and lucky for me.

[Skill: Tracing weakness gained.]
{Lucky has become lv 2}
By the time it turned around, I was already a whole meter away from it.
{Stamina preservation, regeneration has become lv 4}
I took a deep breath and calmed myself.
Behind the wall I saw most ants cheering, while some looking at me with menacing eyes.
The bully was laughing and my friend looked worried.
I gritted my teeth, thinking about my idiocy and focused.
Let’s kill that thing.
[Skill: Determination gained.]
I noticed its bottom glowing in green color and a dot at its side.
On concentrating on it, I got
Bottom. It is the bottom. The part where lies its scrotum. And also a weakness in its otherwise frail body.
{Weakness tracking has become lv 2}
Having found a target, I ran straight toward it, and the termite tried to catch me in its jaw, but I slide from underneath it.
*Ting*
[Skill: Slide gained]
{Evade has become lv 2}
I was about to reach its bottom when it did a 360 degree motion with its head and slammed it into my body.
{Iron skin has become lv 3}
{Blunt resistance has become lv 5}
*Ting*
[Skill: pain resistant gained.]
A bout of pain came, but then became bearable.
For the first time in my new life I felt complacent about the skills.
I evaded another one of its attacks, a punch this time, by rolling on the ground and succeeded to create some distance between us.
The ants, no, ant outside looked gloomy at the prospectus of me coming out alive, but who cares about him.
{Determination has become lv 2}
The bully gestured prophesies me dead, by tracing his antennae across his neck.
{Anger has become lv 4}
The termite once again did a charge attack which I evaded.
I silently sneaked up on him and then following behind it bit on its back.
*Roar*
{Bite has become lv 2}
{Sneak has become lv 3}
My bite tore its skin like it was paper and a yummy yellow stuff came gushing out of it.
A drink followed by another and by the time I stopped the termite lost half of its weight.
{Absorption has become lv 3}
It tried to shake me off from its body, but I gripped as hard as I could and held on.
{Iron grip has become lv 2}
I continued biting it, as its roars became weak. I didn’t let it go, climbed up his back, and tore its neck using my mandibles.
[9 Exp gained.]
.
.
The door then opened, and I walked out of the room.
“Good job greenhorn. Not bad for a rookie.” Officer ant gave me a pat on the back, and I walked to the bully, who was gritting his teeth.
{Charm has become lv3… 4}
I didn’t say anything to him and just threw him the head with ‘You are next’ carved on it.
*Ting*
[Skill: Acting gained.]
My friend came and shared his joy with me.
“You were awesome bro. How did you know its weakness? Look at the ladies man they are smitten by you. Don’t forget to teach me the moves, huh.”
He called me the avenger and I asked him his name.
“Ants don’t have names bro! We don’t need tags!!”
So I decided to call him Tiny.
Not because he was small, but because he was shorter than me.
The bully shoved the head into the hand of him goon behind me and glared at my back.
Me and tiny we talked and went out of the hall, when a sudden horn sounded in my mind, and I panicked.
And so did Tiny.
The warning sound then changed to full blown war horn and the ants in the hall came running out with the officer in lead.
“Kids, run to the stronghold. It’s the invaders!! They are coming!!!”

Polyrhythm Time -- A Bard's Tail
Have you ever met someone who loves what they do so much that they'll skip sleep, food, love and safety to pursue it? What happens if that kind of person encounters a different dimension, yet holds on to their love of music, and specifically of rock drumming.When the world ended at the end of 2057, Kevin Snackenbridge slept through it. He'd been drumming all night. tl;dr-- System eats world -- Monsters and magic ---- LitRpg -- Practice, not levels and stats ---- MC Bard -- support class -- low power ---- MC chooses music over survival skills --tl;dr Kevin trips into the Internal Strength Dimension where Thaumaturgy is king. With the help of a talking plant and several vicious monkeys he learns that the rule is "Change or die." Kevin changes, but remains firmly a drummer/Bard in this high fantasy setting. This is Kevin's adventure, and that of the friends he meets. Kevin has the soul of a real musician. He loves music, specifically rhythm and drumming, and would give his left nut if it would help him drum better. He's a rock drummer, and his language is that of a rock drummer: slanged, duded, and frequently laced with profanity. He focuses on music, and makes decisions that even the author doesn't approve of. However, that means all his decisions are Kevin's decisions, not those of a system-optimizing power-gamer. There's points (All of Arc 2) where he wanders aimlessly. Goals seem foreign to him at points. What would you do if you were a musician, and the world fell apart and you no longer had an audience or band-mates. You'd be kinda lost. Kevin is. Arc 2 is a lot of Kevin not knowing what to do, going with the flow, and not being articulate enough to know that he doesn't know what to do. 1.
