《The Joy of Evolution》You either die of starvation or live long enough to become the chew toy, I hope its not true.

Some time has passed not sure how much but, I am now starving, I have been on the lookout for any more easy kills that just so happened to appear in front of my new home/crack in a wall. Sadly I have seen none even with my extra vision. I have seen a lot of things that may or may not kill me. Such as those spiders, I mean they usually come in packs which is a no go but, maybe if I could single one out I could kill it and suck it dry. I am seriously okay with eating a spider now that is how hungry I am. But, I know nothing about them other than they are poisonous and strong in groups as I saw them take down a lizard almost instantly by ganging up on it. And I mean come on it's a big hairy disgusting, juicy, spider of course it's poisonous. I need fooood!!
I tried to make traps at first and it didn't work as there are only rocks around here, what traps can I make with just small rocks that I can pick up, I mean there is that big rock at the top of the mound, but that risks venturing out in the cesspit of battles, and I'm also not sure if I could get up there let alone move it, I still consume stamina if I was gonna go up straight up a wall, without one behind me to latch onto.
I need to take the risk and venture out in the open though, it can't go on like this, I'm really going to starve to death, if I don't get food and food aint coming to me, I mean it could, it did once but, I highly doubt it's gonna happen again before I die.
Alright it's decided I'm leaving my little crack and going to explore the big open cave out there. If I'm going to die, I might as well die a dog's chew toy, what difference does it make death is death.
I have come to terms that I am no longer human and I have tricked myself into thinking the wolf isn't really all that scary. I am ready for anything!!! ...except those wolves, I rather avoid death by being chewed on.
I pop out of the crack and stick close to the wall in search of something that I could eat. I am ready at any point to go as high as I can up that wall. I continue rolling looking for anything. I see a couple groups of spiders and a wolf battling it out, definitely more than one wolf I think. I haven't seen any more hermit crabs though I wonder where that one came from.
I can see behind this curve in the cave a lone lizard waiting in ambush for something. Maybe I can kill this, I mean that wolf took it and ate it so maybe it's not poisonous if you eat it and if it is my regeneration can deal with it like before. Alright then little lizard it's time for the ambusher to get ambushed.

I roll up the wall by using my new and improved suction pads. My stamina is quickly draining but I just have to get above it and latch onto its back and then it won't be able to stop me sucking it dry, I laugh maniacally in my head.
I make my way above and it is none the wiser as to the ball crawling on a wall behind it. I push myself off and land on the lizards back and stick my spike into it. The lizard thrashes about and tries to knock me off as I drain it dry.
[You have gained 1 Biomass]
[You have been inflicted with [very weak poison]
[You have gained 1 Biomass]
[You have gained 1 Biomass]
[You have gained 1 Biomass]
[Using Regeneration and 1 Biomass you have negated [very weak poison]
The lizard keeps thrashing about but I hold on draining my stamina even further, I can't hold on much longer as it tries to buck me off. But, its getting easier as I drain it and it gets weaker.
[You have consumed 2 Biomass]
[You have gained 1 Biomass]
[You have gained 1 Biomass]
The hunger goes away, as the lizard slows down allowing me to gain some stamina back.
[Defeated an Enemy]
[You have gained one level]
Finally its over, I finish draining the lizard and have gained a total of 5 Biomass, not enough to upgrade anything but more than enough to stave off starvation for more than a day.
I didn't even lose any health from the lizard. Am I just the lizard's natural predator. Have I found my food source?!, granted it is poisonous and I have learned that lizards also have different poisons, so they can upgrade too, but it must be involuntary I mean they are much too stupid for that not to be the case.
Take that you stupid lizard, sit underneath my mass of tentacles. You know what I think, I'm going to go kill another one of your brethren, just to ease my boredom!, GAHAHAhaha… and because I don't wanna starve ever again.
I meander through the barren caves looking for more lizards to kill and feast on. To be my stepping stone to greatness. I am still on the lookout for anything not lizard shaped though because they could probably kill me. I mean the only reason I can latch onto the lizard is because I have been upgrading my suction power over anything else and even then its is quite hard but, my determination knows no bounds, I will conquer all lizards!!
I see another lizard, in an ambush position much like the last one, but, this one seems a little bit too big like 10 times the size, if the others were garden lizards then this one was a komodo dragon, and it is currently sitting on top of a rock looking down below, looking at me.
Ohh hello, you know I'm real sorry about killing and threatening your race, I mean I'm sure, im the villian in your big scary lizard brain, but I assure you it was for a good cause.

The lizard proceeded to throw a sizzling ball of poison acid at me, I dodge it barely getting sprayed in the process, but it still sizzles and poisons me.
[You have been inflicted with [medium poison]
What?! I barely got touched by it and it was medium what would've happened if I didn't dodge in time.
[Using Regeneration and 5 Biomass you have negated the effects of [medium poison]
Nope nuh uh too strong, if I even get another drop on me I'm dead. I roll away in a zigzag manner to avoid all poison shots as the acid eats away at my health luckily my regeneration can mostly negate it. And I eventually turn a corner, I am dripping an ocean of sweat right now.. oh wait thats the acid. Luckily the lizard is too lazy and stupid to give chase, it must have eaten something recently or I doubt it would give up on me so easily. I'm not even worth that lizard getting up and moving, I'll show you lizard, I'll make you regret that decision, even though I appreciate it at the same time for not giving chase. The lizard just has to die, okay!
And that is why I am currently latching onto another weak lizard's back sucking it dry, venting my rage and getting Biomass.
[You have gained 1 Biomass]
[You have gained 1 Biomass]
[You have gained 1 Biomass]
I ended up getting a good 5 Biomass from this one, but I'm not gonna spend it, I need it as a buffer to prevent starvation. It was then I realized something, I'm lost. Wait, I feel like I've seen that rock before and that one too, wait a minute they look identical! All these small rocks look the same in my crappy vision. What do I do, I mean I guess I could look for a new one. I haven't seen any wolves in a while so it is probably safer around here anyway, even if it is closer to the big lizard spitball throwing lizard. But I don't see any cracks in the wall that are deep enough; they are all shallow cracks.
I continue rolling around in search of small lizards and while also dodging out of spiders and also a new species of bug. Giant Sharpened beetles that are darker in color, can't tell what due to being colorblind. When I mean sharpened, I mean like ni-scythe to meet you type of sharp with the big blade jutting out their back that looks like an upside down scythe. They also have big mandibles in front of them and a thick shell. So as of right now, they are another impossible enemy that I could never injure. I didn't find any more lizards, but I did find another possible house. Its an upgrade from a crack and it seems to be uninhabited as I never saw anything come out of it in between by the time I had gone through 2 Biomass. It looks like a hole that digs into the wall and it is about my size maybe a little bigger like soft ball sized. Well it can't possibly be worse than being out in the open dodging certain death. Please don't jinx it.
I roll my way into the hole and I see a blurry thing deeper inside its not moving. It is much easier to make out what things are in a basic format if they are out in the open but, if I have to peer around a corner they are just smudges of varying shades of grayness. It might be dead or sleeping but i don't know, also I haven't slept yet have I, guess there are some perks to monsterification but still, curse this crappy vision I'm upgrading this next chance I get. As I move down the hole, it ends with a slope downward into a much bigger hole like basketball sized. The blurry thing is not moving but, as I get closer it is a little easier to make out what it is, a snake skeleton. Oh Thank you, I mean it is at least 5 times bigger than me, I wonder why I haven't seen any around here, but this one is just dead and it doesn't look fresh. It has all those frilly bones, I bet I could use it to cover the hole. Oh that's a great idea, me?!
I pull apart the bones and grab a few rocks using my suction pads and push them toward the entrance. I stack the bones and rocks on top of eachother with dirt in between, I then add a pile of walks on the inside that blocks the bones from coming my way and BAM! I have a door, granted it doesn't lock, and you need to be quite gentle with it otherwise it will fall apart and it is also see through. But it should at least provide some protection from lizards getting in.
I open the door outward and a bone falls out, I put it back and carry on in search of more lizards. I grip the wall just in case, I haven't gotten attacked out in the open too often but better safe than sorry actually that's probably why I haven't gotten attacked, they don't expect something as smart as me, I mean I am like a quantum computer compared to these morons they just run out in the open and either kill something or get killed out in the open. I think I might be giving the lizards not enough credit for at least attempting ambushes.
I should make a list of monsters here in level of smartness. I mean you have me at the top by a mile, then maybe the pack spiders or lizards. And at the very bottom you have the wolf coming in just before though is a rock. They may be dumb but, they are still strong and… I watch a blind and deaf wolf in the distance lash out at a large boulder thinking it was something... and well maybe a little less scary.
