《The Joy of Evolution》Mother?!

Where am I? It’s pitch-black no matter where I look? Am I blind?! How did that happen, what was I doing I think I was just laying in bed? I should try to learn about my surrounding.
I attempt to move my arms; I can't, but yet I feel resistance. I push against using something like a limb; I don't know, but I know it's not my arms, my legs, maybe?
I push and push and PUSH! The resistance gives, but nothing else changes. I pushed through the spot where I broke the resistance.
And slide through.
[Congratulations, Welcome to your alternative life]
Huh, who was that, she sounds nice, very robotic, but strangely familiar, like too familiar I should recognize who this is. Wait, can you repeat what you just said?
[...] No response, m'kay.
[Your Soul has been chosen for transfer, please use your new body well.]
Wait, what?! So I didn't hear wrong?! I must be hallucinating. Yes, that is the only logical explanation, I must have gotten drugged by someone, but who would drug me. I mean, ME?! I don't even have any money, and my parents are dead, who would ever want to kidnap me?! Out of all the people, you could kidnap it's me, geez?!
I flop out of wherever I was and I can see now, well at least partly and without any color. My vision also seems to be a bit larger than usual, but maybe it's just the drugs.
Mmm, no it is not the drugs, as I can blurrily make out the weird fleshy egg sac that I came out of. Eww, that looks gross, I was in there?! I can see around me but only about 3 meters anything past that is just black.
And Brhh, why is it so cold in here, I feel like I'm in winter naked?

[Your new species name is Suctioner Hatchling]
Oh, your voice warms me a little, disembodied robot lady. But would you care to elaborate?
[...]
No, m’kay… WHAT THE FLIP FLAPPIN' SNAPSHOT BEANS DO YOU MEAN MY SPECIES HAS CHANGED?! I AM A HUMAN, H-U-M-A-N! Say it with me!
[...]
I quickly look myself over to make sure that my species has not changed. But, it is rapidly becoming less likely the longer this goes on. I can’t see myself directly, but I can sense where my eyesight comes from and I exert that to determine what I look like. Not a particular human-like process now that I think of it.
But I can determine that I am a ball with little suction appendages. I look like a virus if it got ballooned to well at least seeable size, I don't know how big I am. But besides that.
OH GOD WHY, WHY AM I A CREEPY LITTLE DISGUSTING BALL OF FLESH?!
*schlink*
Wha… what was that I could feel the vibrations against my new appendages and where it came from but, I don't see anything.
I put focus toward where it came from and I still don't see anything!
*schlink*
A large whitish appendage slams onto the ground and locks in place, the little sucker part could easily fit my entire body. My entire ball body cramps like a deer in headlights. Another appendage comes and another and another until I see a much larger ball body with many appendages around the body as it comes directly toward me.
I start running err rolling, no matter, my life is at stake all that matters is I get the heck out of here! Unlike a human though who doesn't know if they are getting further away from their chaser, I do. A blessing and a curse in my opinion as I can clearly, tell that I am not escaping that sucky ball.

As it gets closer, I can tell that each appendage is not only sucking the ground, but also digging into it as it leaves bite marks on the ground, but you know small details. As I book it at maximum output, my stamina drains from my body as I roll at turbo speed. I’m not fast enough, and I end up getting squished and picked up by that monster ball.
My body ends up being squished into the ground literally as I get repeatedly get rolled into the air and back into the rocky ground. I use my vision to look around, and I see many other white balls in the monster’s grasp that look oddly the same shape as me right now. I then realized...
[You have gained one Biomass.]
Well, It was then I realized that those were my brothers. And guess who mother was?!

Until You Do It Right
The world ended on December thirty-first of the year two thousand and twenty, precisely at the stroke of midnight. The human race began to be systematically exterminated by the spawn of the System. We were given a chance to defeat them, to take back our place at the top of the food chain. We failed. The first to perish were those who bravely rebelled. The soldiers. The defenders. One by one, they fell. In their final moments, they begged for aid. Nobody replied. The next to succumb were those who feebly cowered. The deniers. The leeches. Together, they fell. In their final moments, they cried out into the darkness. Countless voices replied in kind. The last to decline were those who shamelessly ran. The deserters. The cowardly. Alone, they fell. In their final moments, they whimpered quietly. There was nobody left to answer. The final human to die was a survivor. A runner. As he died, he begged for salvation. His prayers were answered. He was offered a chance to save himself, along with all of humanity, and he took it. This is his story. “I sat in the dark and thought: There’s no big apocalypse. Just an endless procession of little ones.”― Neil Gaiman, Signal to Noise. I am absolutely new to writing and will take any and all constructive criticism. Please give feedback, it is greatly appreciated. I will update the tags as they change, and I hope that you enjoy this little story I'm writing! Quick warning: Seamus is intentionally a flawed character, and this story is going to explore those flaws and perhaps even change a few of them. I do not agree with all of his actions, but it is what it is.
