First Patrol (Pt. 1)
--- Maya ---
While it hadn’t exactly been her first idea of a place to go, the fact that Tommy had specifically told her that there was another party going on at the Trainyard, made her want to investigate the general area.
“You know when you hear the word ‘patrol’ you expect a little more something.” She commented as she cut through another (supposed to be) dangerous alley.
(To be fair most patrols are more of a ‘there is someone watching’ kind of thing.) Her inner reason explained. (Even if we don’t fight anyone, just the word that there is a mask patrolling this area will keep most non-Deviants in doors.)
Watching someone take a video of her with their phone from across the street made her wonder about that.
(It’s a time thing. Right now, no one knows what we are actually doing. I’m sure after we catch a criminal or two, we’ll start having some kind of influence on the area’s crime rate.)
(Ugh, boring…)
“Yeah, just a matter of leveling up our rep.” She nodded at her inner logic. “We’re still on Protector rank, so of course no one ‘s really reacting to us.”
(Honestly, we’re probably still at Vandal rank.)
(So bored…)
“What? But we beat Decker, that’s got to count as good karma.” She argued.
(Perhaps but you have to remember as far as anyone knows he wasn’t doing anything strictly speaking good or bad.) Her inner reason reminded her. (Sure, we know he was up to no good, but everyone else just thinks he’s a Deviant DJ who got into a fight with another Deviant. Even the heroes have no way of knowing we’re the good guy because none of them know why we were trying to take him down.)

“Damn, I forgot about that…” It wasn’t until a few days after her fight with Decker that she realized him editing the video didn’t just save her from the embarrassment of being verbally torn apart. It also cut out her accusations about him and any forewarning that could’ve given to anyone invited to his party about his shadier dealings.
(Okay, all of this is well and good, but it doesn’t change the fact that this is fucking boring!) Her inner madness whined. (Why won’t something just happen already!)
“…”
(…)
(…)
“You know I was honestly expecting something to happen at that.” She admitted to the silent night.
(I know right?)
(Perhaps we should just count our blessings that nothing did happen.) Her inner reason warned them.
“Why? I mean it’s not like we can’t actually handle whatever is thrown at us.”
(Ooh, and the flag is raised!)
“Whatever, how far our we from the actual Trainyard now?” She asked pulling up a larger version of her mini-map onto her headset. “Maybe we can keep a drunk kid from getting mugged or something.”
(Hmm, it looks like we’re another ten, fifteen minutes away.) Her inner reason judged, as her Informant Network () pulled up a couple of noise complaints from the party onto her MAP ().
“Wonder if Decker ‘ll be at this party too…” She murmured, itching for a re-match.
(Oh, oh, wait! There’s a break-in!) Her inner passion cheered as she noted an icon a fair distance away.
(Hmm, depending on how fast we can run, we might be able to intercept. Though, we might miss them too, given the distance.)
(What? No! It’d suck if we got blue balled on our first patrol!)
(In either case, it might be more productive to try and patrol around the party like we’d originally intended. At the very least we’d be able to make sure Tommy isn’t involved if something does happen.)
She eyed the two points on her MAP (). Like the voice in her head said if she couldn’t run fast she wouldn’t actually be able to do anything about the break in. On the other hand, however, if she stuck around the party she wasn’t actually guaranteed a shot at anything happening.
(What to do, what to do…)

Path of Salt
After running off with his best friend to fight as Mercenaries, Tobias found out that he wasn't built for battle. Swiftly defeated but not dead, he could only lay down on the grass, and watch as Marcus fought off their enemies almost singlehandedly. Both of them survived that battlefield, and they both decided to return back to their Village. Tobias' ideals and expectations were shattered by the reality of War, so he decided to settle down instead. On the other hand, something awakened within Marcus. He woke up one day, only to be greeted by a floating panel of light. [Name: ... Marcus][Race: ... Human][Class: ... ... ...] [Hero] [Welcome to the System] What is a village-born Hero to do, but answer his calling? Current schedule: No chapters for the next few months. I'm still writing the entirety of Volume 2. WARNINGS:-Yes, this contains LitRPG elements after a slow start, promise.-This work is incredibly Slice-of-Life heavy-Also conversation heavy-Also plot heavy (But not in that way, unfortunately)-The pacing in terms of plot is slow -(Edit after a review)- This story is also known as: I honestly don't understand what's the difference between "light" and "dark" stories. I realized that far too late, so this story is... weird. It might be light at times, and dark at times, and in all honesty, definitely has dark undertones. Oh, and prepare to be disappointed or pleased by this story; I understand that this story is polarizing, at least. Cover made by: Fei (@Chippy03966650) / Twitter

The Demon King Absolutely Has No Attachments
Welcome to Akoras Online, where the power lies in your hands. This sandbox virtual reality MMO has gained a dedicated community, but it has a catch: those who die in battle have their stats reset. Spending all his time on the server to escape his shut-in life, Kas is the only long-time player with a death counter of 0. However, his social skills are also a big 0, so he's condemned as the cold-hearted “Demon King”. Now, the number of players who actually like him is also 0. (Which is fine. He enjoys the peace and quiet.) However, Kas' dreams of being left alone are banished over and over by challengers with various grievances against him. Among them is Gabriel, the celebrity "Hero" of Akoras, who has just as much time on his hands as Kas. Seriously, Gabriel tries to fight him a lot. It’s getting kind of tiring… Wait, this guy isn’t even in high school yet! The (not-so) idyllic trials of a Demon King and a Hero, with a raging faction war in the background. Now updates on Tuesdays, with the odd chapter in between.
