Rave, Rave, Revolution! Fourth Beat!
--- Maya ---
She hit the ground rolling as the light faded, followed shortly after by Decker doing the same.
“Oww…” She couldn’t help but groan as her everything ached. “Damn it…”
“Fuck you broke my mixer…” Decker cursed from a few feet away. “Why’d you have to go and do that?”
“You were trying to kill me!” She reminded him, as she forced herself to her feet. Idly noting -and appreciating- the fact that the rave had apparently cleared out during their fight. Meaning Decker would have no more back up as she captured him.
“It was a game; I wasn’t actually going to kill you.” Decker waved off her concerns as he tossed his broken mixer to the side.
“Yeah, well, what about the people you were forcing into your gang?!” She asked aiming one of her Hand Cannons at the gang member.
Decker gave her a look, and even through his visor she could tell he was rolling his eyes. “And like I said, after their first hit they’d be thanking me.”
“You sound like a drug pusher.” She told him.
Decker snorted. “You act like you’ve never gotten high on life.”
She scowled at the gang Mask. “Well let’s see how high you get in jail!”
“Depending on the jail, I could probably score some pretty solid weed if I’m being honest.” Decker admitted.
She growled, “Why aren’t you freaking out! You’re about to be arrested!”
“And I’ll be out in a week tops.” Decker told her getting to his own feet.
“I… what?”
Decker gave her another look, before smiling. “Huh, you really are new to this whole scene. Lucky me.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” She demanded, setting her Hand Cannons to give off a pre-shot whining sound.

“Well, what evidence do you have that I actually tried to force anyone into the Gamer’s Guild?” Decker asked, before tapping his visor. “Were you recording me with your bootlegged glasses?”
“Hey, these things aren’t bootlegged!” She argued self-consciously. “They’re rigged to monitor all of my tech.”
“Still, were you recording me? Yes or no?” Decker pressed.
“No…” She admitted, feeling self-conscious that she hadn’t thought of that as well as feeling that Decker was just smug enough to honestly explain how he was going to win.
“Good because that could’ve been illegal for you.” Decker told her.
“What?” She asked dumbfounded.
“You’re only allowed to record someone without their consent or acknowledgement when said recording is evidence to a felony crime.”
“You were kidnapping people!” She yelled.
“No, I was asking for volunteers for a public display, at a public party. It’s not my fault if a few of their friends pressured them into it.” Decker argued with a distraught face she wasn’t buying for a second, especially since it returned to his smug amusement just as fast.
“In reality I would’ve just offered the people who passed the test an in with the guild. It’d be there choice from there.” At this the guild member smirked at her. “Of course, no one has actually said ‘no’ after passing said test.”
“Because you’re hitting them with a Slaver effect as soon as they touch your power-ups!” She shouted.
“Can you prove that?” Decker asked her calmly, before gesturing to the empty warehouse. “After all, since you didn’t use one, there aren’t any power-ups here for you to give as evidence.”
“That’s… that’s…” She opened and closed her mouth, trying to figure out some way to have Decker arrested. “Wha-what about your drones, they were filming me! You just said that’s illegal!”

Decker pointed to the side. “Sign on the wall.”
She looked where he was pointing and saw a cartoon Decker being filmed by a drone, just next to this picture were the words, ‘While rave is in progress this site shall be streamed to the guild’s channel. By remaining here, you give your consent to being filmed on this premises.’
The worst part was that this sign was every ten feet around the entire warehouse.
“I-You can’t set those here; this building is private property!” She yelled, not actually sure of that statement.
“It is.” Decker nodded, before tapping his chest. “My property to be specific.”
She blinked. “What?”
“Oh, I own this entire warehouse. Bought it on the cheap.” Decker admitted with a shrug. “In fact, thinking about it, technically speaking you are the one trespassing right now.”
“Wha- That’s bullshit!”
“Nope. If you check just outside the doors you’ll see this little gold plate with my name on it.” Decker told her. “I mean it’s not real gold because, well, this is a really bad neighborhood. Still get some dumbass trying to steal it each week.”
She stared at the gang member in front of her before punching him in the face.
Decker merely laughed at this as he wiped at his eye. “Yeah, that’s how most people react when they realize I’m the guild’s legal advisor.”
“You’re a lawyer?” She gaped in disbelief.
“I’m a very big Ace Attorney, fan.” Decker confessed with a smirk.
“I…” She glanced around the empty warehouse, back to the gang member who she’d spent the better part of an hour fighting despite the fact that apparently he hadn’t committed a single crime yet, before finally giving a resigned sigh. “You know what, I’m just… I’m done for the night…”
“Yeah, while it’s been fun, I do have an after party to get to.” Decker agreed cheerfully enough to make her want to repeat her previous action, before reaching into his hoodie and handing her a card featuring the cartoon DJ Decker. “Though if you ever feel like having a re-match I’m always down for another game or two.”
For a moment she was tempted to crumple the card up, but after another she figured it’d be stupid to throw away a possible method of finding Decker again. (Once I have a way of arresting his ass anyway…)
Without another word she took the card and turned to leave, pretending very hard that Decker wasn’t following her two steps behind while whistling the song that had been playing throughout his boss fight.
As they stepped out of the warehouse Decker laughed. “Oh, looks like the afterparty has found me already.”
Wondering what he was talking about she followed his gaze before freezing, because just down the street glaring at them was a woman literally stepping out of the shadows.
(Oh shit! What am I supposed to do?!)
