In an almost pitch-black room, with the only light-source being a ringing phone, the only entity one could see is a creature moving under a piece of blanket from which a sound somewhere between a deep groan and the death throes of a man comes.
"Grooaannnn"....
After another 20 minutes of an inner mental war of going to work or calling in sick, a creature which appears to be a male human, or maybe a type of especially average looking vampire, if going by the skin color and hate for the shine that his phone gives of, sits up the bed and seems to contemplate his life choices.
"God I hate Mondays."
With that short motivational speech to himself, he stood up and reluctantly made himself ready for the day.
He walked into his bathroom to brush his… oh never mind seems he wants to skip that part.. not very healthy on the long term but whatever, he's got to go to the shower at least right … or maybe not….seems he is actually going back to his bedroom. Alright I guess. Nothing wrong with that.
Finally dressing himself up for today. With what looks like 4 days old clothing. Great. So after about an hour later he managed to finally dress up, of course with multiple 5 minute naps in between his struggle.
After overcoming this heroic challenge, our protagonist opens his door and goes out into the crowded street. Of course, while inwardly complaining about the presence of other humans on it, to go to his job in customer service. Now you may think that someone with such a personality would be fired within the first few hours at such a job. Matter in fact, he only took this job because his parents nagged him about getting one and he was sure he would be fired anyway. But it didn’t, and he has no idea why. Not that he complained about getting paid to do nothing. Truly, the life of every customer service employee working for EA…

While our hero crossed the first of many streets today he heard an annoying voice shout at someone who is most likely him.
"Hey, hobo handsome, watch out!"
Looking to his left, he sees Truck-kun going at him with full speed which almost completely assured his untimely death and with this realization, he parted with his final courageous words, that shall forever be engraved on his tombstone for future generations to see.
“I should have called in sick...”
Yaaaaaawn...
"What a shit dream...why the fuck do I feel even more lazy than usual."
Welcome Otherworlder, to the World of Terra, a World of a Million Opp-
"Yea, sorry man, don’t mean to be rude by interrupting you, but I'm still kind of tired, wake me up again in 5 minutes will ya?"
Timer set to 5:00 minutes.
"Niiiice... thanks for that... "
5 minutes later...
*Beep, Beep, Beep*
"Grooaannnn"...

Apex Immortal: a LitRPG system rampage
"Across the multiverse where the contest for power is the only constant, only a handful have succeeded in reaching the ultimate heights of ascendency and gained the title Apex Immortal. Dominus is one of them, unsurpassed in overwhelming violence, feared across universes. Now, memories locked and stranded far away from everything he’d built, Dominus will face enemies that will challenge even his powers and discover that change is more difficult than destruction." I’ve been writing fiction on and off for the last decade and I’ve always wondered how a peak immortal (or an OP superhero) would single handedly conquer a world that mirrors our own in all of its complexity. As a politics nerd, this is my attempt at answering that question using Machiavelli’s “The Prince” as the primary playbook. The “monsters” are entire political systems with entrenched culture. Expect many versions of real world political systems (and cultures) to be on the hit list. The MC has to successfully institute regime and cultural change without engaging in wholesale genocide and causing the state to fail. Expect things to go wrong pretty quickly as escalating and cascading political and economic effects rapidly go out of control. Methods deployed are not for the faint hearted.
