Kyle’s mind blanked out as he pushed himself to the very limitations of his power, connecting with the veil, flowing his mana through it, morphing his body and then altering his soul all at the same time was just too much.

He lost control and his consciousness slowly began fading away. As he closed his eyes, he began to remember. Kyle began to relive some of his past, the veil affecting his defenceless mind as he remained connected to it.

It was like he was moving back in time, recent events being played in his head before a later one began. It flowed through quickly, a whole lifetime repeating over and over in his head. Until he recognised a certain memory above all the others, something he had forgotten.

As he focused on it, the memories slowed down until it began to play at real time.

Kyle was surrounded by a large crowd of players within the game he loved so much, they were all gathered around a fenced-out arena. They pushed at each other, trying to get a better look. Kyle knew they were pushing on him but he didn’t feel them, the technology was created with safety as it’s prime directive.

Albeit the lack of touch, the visual prowess of the sub-VR technology was enough for Kyle at this time. He was immersed enough, as this world even after a few weeks of playing, he fell in love with it completely.

He was standing at the very front of the crowd, being one of the participants of the tournament that was going on. He had already gone, having barely won his first duel and this next one was to decide his opponent next round.

He glanced around, people dressed in all kinds of armour and costumes were shouting and cheering. Yet even then the announcer’s voice was heard above them all, loud and clear as the white wizard appeared in a puff of smoke into the arena’s middle.

“Round 1 Match 4! Participants please make yourselves available!” the wizard announced and suddenly two players appeared within the ring, each one having their own side of the large arena. “Good no AFKs this match!” the wizard chuckled and the crowd laughed with him, he glanced at each duellist.

One was a large stone elemental wearing pitch black plate-armour and wielding two massive dual-axes.

The second was a Werewolf with blood-red leather armour and wielding a single handed sword.

Many in the crowd laughed, Kyle chuckled with them. He knew the elemental was going to win this one, the Werewolf was wearing ranger armour and wielded a single sword without an off-hand. Stats during this tournament were evened out so character build and equipment sets were everything.

But he watched nonetheless, awaiting the humorous ass whooping that was about to commence.

The announcer glanced between the two players “Competitor Grootv2, are you ready?”

The elemental warrior grinned “Kidding me? Yeah, let’s go.”

The wizard then turned to the second player “Competitor SlyOkami, you know you can change your equipment before the fight starts correct?”

The lightly armoured swordsman chuckled “Yeah, I know.” Before glancing back at a few people in the crowd “Got a little bet going.”

The announcer sighed “Then if both of you are ready…” he suddenly faded away “Begin.”

The warrior suddenly charged forwards, the ground spreading open in his path as he combined his physical charge skill with his magical earth aura. Stone and dirt flew everywhere as the ground shook, as he spun mid-charge with box axes held forward. In his path was the lightly armoured swordsman, not evading, not blocking but simply standing there.

“Take your damn bets elsewhere fucking troll!” shouted the warrior as his right axe came around and cleaved towards the swordsman’s neck.

Sly smiled widely, his eyes the very definition of insane pleasure as he quickly responded “Oh I’ll show you troll.” as the axe’s blade reached his neck, barely touching his skin…He disappeared. To everyone watching the swordsman disappeared into thin air, as a blast of wind exploded out from his previous position. The spell threw the warrior aside, making him tumble over a few times before he came to a stop on the floor.

“Ugh…what?” the warrior asked as he lay face up on the ground, his eyes widened as he cleared the dust out of his vision and looked up. Everyone followed his confused gaze, to see the swordsman was several dozen meters up in the sky.

Kyle was astounded, the swordsman had used a ranger specific mastery skill ‘Aerial Ascent’ which was only possible because he wore ranger specific armour. Yet because he was wielding a sword and now a bow, the skill’s power was greatly reduced yet still effective. But the amazingness of it all died there, as the swordsman slowly lost speed as he ascended, laughing like a maniac all the while.

“It works!” the crowd could barely hear him shouting “It fucking works!” he repeatedly shouted, until he finally began to descend down.

Kyle grimaced as he could only guess that the guy now wanted to make a falling stab onto the downed warrior. Which at the height he was at would have been a one hit kill but…the warrior was already on his feet, aware of where the swordsman was and…an earth elemental.

The warrior snorted as he chanted “Earthen Shell!” magic permeated the air as the ground around him turned to sludge and formed up and around him like a shell before hardening once more.

Kyle cringed, already seeing the swordsman’s demise to fall damage. But seeing the other player’s wide grin he couldn’t help but root for him somewhat…even though what he was doing was completely crazy and there was no way it could work. The swordsman looked like he was having the time of his life.

Then the swordsman began to chant, as he fell “Lightning Rod.” He aimed his sword downwards, pointing it before himself as he gained speed. Blue electricity began to form around his blade, increasing in brightness and sparking ferocity the fasted he began to fall.

This was a lightning elemental attack that enchanted a weapon with the element and made the weapon go directly towards a selected target even if it had to go through obstacles…”But that’s a projectile enchant…” Kyle mumbled out loud as he watched in confusion, his eyes widening as the swordsman let go of the sword.

The blade rushed downwards at suddenly triple its previous speed. It smashed through the earth shell, exploding in a rush of electricity as it hit its mark. The crowd watched in astonishment as the earth spell fell apart, revealing the deceased caster beneath.

They continued to watch, even as the swordsman fell…plummeting down laughing all the while…before abruptly hitting the ground with a crack and a splat. He died instantly.

Silence fell within the arena, even the announced didn’t appear or say anything for several awkward moments.

All but one group of players could be heard, as one of them spoke “I can’t believe that actually fucking worked.”

Then another “He’s…never gonna let this go is he?”

They talked with one another, ignoring the stares and gazed from everyone else. Seemingly in their own world, with little care about the rest they conversed, laughed and joked.

“Ahem…” the announcer cleared his throat before suddenly reappearing within the arena “Both…competitors died but due to the difference between the time of death…the victor is…SlyOkami?” he glanced at the dead-by-fall player body to his left “Someone tell him when he respawns…Onto the next.”

The memory rushed forwards, his vision suddenly blurring before clearing moments later.

Now it was his turn again, as the announcer turned towards him to ask “Competitor SoulThief, are you ready?”

The blood-red hooded mage wielding twin daggers nodded, this was one of Kyle’s more favourite characters. A dark persona wielding black magic and having a deadly close range skill set to go with. Kyle was a roleplayer and he didn’t speak much with this character. Entering the role, he gazed emptily at the swordsman before him.

Sly cringed away, bothered by his opponent’s seemingly serious expression.

“Competitor SlyOkami, are you also ready?” the announcer asked, having turned to him now.

“Hhmm…” the swordsman hummed in thought, as he glanced back at what Kyle figured was his guild or at least group of friends. “Sure, why not?”

The announced was confused by the statement but began the match anyway “Um, Begin?” he again faded away, disappearing from the stage.

“Sure? Is that how you respond to whether you are ready to fight or not?” Kyle asked, curious at why but also trying to remain within character.

Sly chuckled briefly “Well I was going to forfeit after the first match, not like I can use the same trick twice. Was honestly just curious if the skills worked in tangent and whether the mods would allow it as an actual win or not.”

“So why continue?” Kyle then asked, continuing his elongated and quiet tone.

Sly grinned as his eyes reverted to that mad look he had before “You strike me as an interesting fight. These tourneys are usually bullshit in my honest opinion, always the same four or five victors winning because of their mastery of meta builds. But you…How do I put it? Dark mage robes, twin daggers and…Not Dark Elf, Not Fallen, Not Beastman but…Undead? Nothing close to meta.” He unsheathed his sword “So let’s see what you got.”

Kyle grimaced, he hid his face almost entirely so how did he know that his race was Undead? “How-” he was about to ask just that but…Sly decided they’d had talked for long enough.

Sly suddenly threw his sword as a darkness oozed out of its hilt, the blade flew true as Kyle had to deflect it with his daggers. The darkness moved through the sword, up the blade and…into Kyle.

“Target set. Fade out.” Sly chanted and his form suddenly faded into thin air “Fade in” a disembodied voice spoke and Sly appeared before Kyle, not grabbing his sword but instead lowering his stance as he spun his right leg around into a whirling kick “Acrobatics!” he chanted and his entire body was suddenly engulfed in a layer of wind increasing his speed.

Kyle could of sword he felt each one of the several dozen times Sly kicked him in the gut, as with each kick he was sent flying back Sly chanted his teleportation skill that stuck to Kyle like a curse. Only to kick him back once more…then do it all over again.

Kyle was kicked back dozens of times, to the point that he was smashed into the arena’s barrier that kept them within bounds. He was about to take this chance and fight back but…Sly was already upon him. Kyle thought he was about to punch him but then he chanted “Refill Quiver.” And the sword rushed back into his hand.

Kyle had no time to react as Sly plunged the blade into his chest, impaling him to the barrier. Yet Kyle wasn’t dead yet, low on health enough that a stone throw would kill him but still in…He looked up from the blade, expecting a mocking smile or an amused grin.

Sly looked down on Kyle with neither, only disappointment as he pulled out his sword “Ahhh, man I thought you were better than this! Seriously what the hell? Sweet get up and all but where’s your game?”

Kyle stared at him dumbfounded “W-What?”

Sly sighed “Game, where the hell is your build at? You know, escapes, evades, counter spells, counter skills, proc trigger passives?”

Kyle had no idea what any of those were, his confused expression said it all too.

Sly looked back at him with a raised brow “What…what are you PVPing for!?” he suddenly exclaimed, loudly “Hell! Show me your build!” he more so commanded than asked.

Kyle felt like he had no say at all as he was shocked into sharing his character page.

“The fuck is this shit?” Sly blatantly asked to no one in particular as he read through Kyle’s skill list “Blood magic and…Holy shit I’ve never seen this many polymorphs! Ritual magic? Seriously dude? Where…Where are the dagger skills? The evasion spells? Why the fuck do you have Portal Teleport? That shit takes ages to cast!” Sly now looked up from the window, seemingly awaiting an explanation.

Kyle stared back confused “Umm…They’re…cool and-”

“Cool!?” Sly cut him off as disbelief filled his expression “C-Cool…I…No…I just…What…”

“Anndd you broke him.” Said a female player from behind him.

Kyle turned to find that Sly’s guild had walked around to come behind them, now standing on the other side of the barrier.

“Do you believe this shit!?” Sly exclaimed as he gestured at Kyle who still had his mouth and eyes wide open and frozen so with a raised brow.

“Believe it? Bro you’re in the middle of a match and you’re tipping your opponent on their character build, THAT is what I’m trying to understand here.” Responded another player, seemingly the guild leader from their demeanour and how the rest gathered around him.

“But-I’m just! Ahhh!!” Sly screamed out in frustration.

The memory faded away there, filling Kyle with several emotions at once as he continued to reminisce. More memories beginning to flood in, faster now.

Sly sighed as he stood above a fallen and beaten bloody SoulThief “You never give up do you? This is what? The twentieth time you’ve tried to PK me this week? How the fuck you even finding me!?”

Birse chuckled as he walked into view “Gotta give him that, resilient and cunning.”

Again it all faded out, before fading back in to another scene.

Kyle felt the soreness in his arms and legs, the weariness washing over his entire body as he faced Sly within the guild house’s duel platform. They’d been going at it for hours on end, Sly trying to show the Roleplayer the ropes to actual PVP.

“Man you sure you don’t want to make a new character? Hell we’ll help you level it up if you want.” Sly sighed as he stood without a scratch, though seemingly also tired.

Kyle flinched at that, suddenly looking up “Never! I’ll do what I can with what I’ve got! I’m not deleting any of them!“

Sly groaned “Why’d you have to go and cap out your character list anyway?...Come on not even one of them?...”

“What and here we thought you could make anything work Justin.” said Soren as he stood watching from the side with a massive barrel full of popcorn, the Dwarf seemed to be having a good time even as he mocked the Werewolf.

Sly cringed “Shove it Bill, I’ll make it work then…” he glanced back at Kyle “Somehow…”

Then again, the memory faded, warping into elsewhere.

Kyle, as he watched through his own eyes was stumbling about as he stepped into the guild portal. Having just returned from questing alone, he had also just respawned. He stumbled into the guild house’s common room, shoulders low, expression pale and depressed as he collapsed to his knees.

“They took it…They…They took it…” he repeatedly mumbled.

Skill who was alching in the corner saw and walked up to him “Took what? Yo you’re yellow named, got into a PK?” the Elf asked.

Kyle looked up with actual tears in his eyes “My dagger…they…they took it.”

“Dagger?...THE LEGENDARY WEAPON!?” Skill suddenly dropped his items as Kyle weakly nodded “THE ONE I MAX ENCHANTED?!” Kyle nodded again.

“THE ONE FROM LAST WEEKEND’S RAID!?” exclaimed Seren as she popped her head through the doorway.

Again Kyle nodded as both of them stared at him in despair.

Skill’s expression twitched as he opened his chat window “Fuck! Fuck! What were their names?!”

“It’s no use…they’re streamers…” weakly responded Kyle.

Seren suddenly grabbed Kyle by the shirt and pulled him up, he could of sworn he saw a demon in her eyes as she asked “Their.Names.Now.”

“H-H-H-Hash-rekt!” Kyle stuttered out a response.

Seren let go of him and grabbed Skill’s collar “Get.The.Others.” Kyle could swear he saw black smoke oozing out of her ears and lips as she twitched a grimace “Fourteen.Hours.Of.Supporting…” she mumbled out “Five.Milion.Gold.Entry…”

As Skill chatted away responses from other guild members popped up in their chatbox.

Silvaragon;

Seren’s hand trembled as she gripped her wand “Kill them till they’re dead.”

Once more the memory faded out, then back in.

Kyle stood above a hill watching the valley below, on either side an army was approaching the other. He smiled wickedly, glancing around he saw the rest of the guild grinning with him before all turned to their leader.

Birse stepped forward with a wide, amused smile “Look at them, warring over this DLC’s territory so soon…Unprepared, unsituated and with the meagre least amount of scouting…” he chuckled.

Kyle looked back down at the two marching armies, no formation, no visible chain of command “Go on, rush at each other like the zerg that you are.” He spoke with gusto “We’re watching, we’re waiting.”

“All your base shall belong to us!” quietly exclaimed Skill, turning Kyle’s expression sour as he turned to glare at the Elf. Causing everyone else to burst out laughing.

The memory faded, all of them did. As Kyle regained a somewhat state of consciousness, yet he could feel it, he was about to plunge back into the veil if he didn’t regain control. And if the veil overpowers him then all was for naught, as even he has no clue what will happen if it does.

“Dammit!” he exclaimed “Just a little more! Just a bit fucking further!” he shouted, trying to psyche himself up. Trying to bring out anything from himself, reaching as deep within his mind as he could to the point that his Spirit-state was fluctuating and distorting.

Void loomed all around him, the darkness was briefly confused by the ethereal flames but now it began to flow closer once more. “Poor, little fox. You could never just get there could you? Always so close…yet always so damn far. Everything was within your reach…yet you could never actually reach it!” the void laughed, a booming dark bellow.

“Shut up! Dammit shut up!” Kyle shouted back, as his body continued to distort, slowly he was losing his form. Seemingly fading into the background.

“Hah, you’ve always had a big mouth. Making your dramatic declarations. But that’s all you are, aren’t you? A big mouth that cannot stop talking. With.No.Real.Power.Behind.It.” The Void mocked him as it lurked dangerously close now, watching and waiting.

Kyle resisted, with his body gone he felt no real touch but the pain that went through his less that physical mind was unbearable. The pressure that continuously built up around his very existence, threatened to squash him. The nagging cold quickly turned into a burning agony within his head. The aching buzzing that filled his ears suddenly grew louder, piercing his every thought.

And for what he figured would be the last time, Kyle felt his consciousness drift away. He felt himself lose complete control of his outstretched mana. He felt the veil penetrate his mind once more…He then felt the void collapse onto his existence and begin to devour him whole.

As the darkness filled his vision, suddenly a small light demanded his attention within it.

An orb of light, violet in colour it approached his fading form. Even through the pain, even through the confusion, even as he felt his consciousness wane the orb demanded he stayed awake. And he did, as he stared into the small ball of light.

It was a Hollow, the collective existence of someone who passed. Their mana, their Spirit, their Aura…everything that wasn’t physical but was somehow connected. That was what lay before him now, a Hollow.

But the veil was too strong, the void too fierce. No matter how much Kyle wanted to keep staring into the bright light and ignore his surroundings. The Void was devouring him. The Veil was possessing him.

Kyle fell into a slumber, the Hollow’s dimming light the last thing he saw before his eyes fully closed. Plunging him into darkness.

“Fallen low haven’t we Kyll?” A voice suddenly echoed through his mind, it was loud…and familiar.

Kyle’s eyes sprung open wide, he found the Hollow still hovering before him.

“Your new friend here was kind enough to give me directions!” the voice spoke once more, not through sound but directly into Kyle’s mind. He watched, confused and dumbfounded as it seemed to shake briefly “Pissed off someone apparently?” the voice then asked before the Hollow suddenly hovered back and away from him.

Kyle couldn’t respond, keeping himself conscious was taking everything he had as the Veil assaulting his mind and as Void ravaged his soul. All he could do was watch, even as the questions flooded his mind.

The light deformed, and took shape before him. “You’re the last one I figured to see…well at all.” The voice said, as the light took humanoid shape “I made a mistake Kyle, a mistake I can never take back.” for a brief moment Sly’s form took shape out of the violet light “Remember what we promised?” he asked…his eyes sullen, his body bruised and beaten as a large gash of oozing darkness stretched out over his chest.

The light suddenly shook before losing its shape and expanding millions of times, stretching out before Kyle and forming a massive rift in space. As the voice spoke for the last time, muffled and quiet “Live on, old friend.”

“What is it now!? What is this!?” exclaimed Void as the rift tore through even its darkness, pushing it away from Kyle’s form.

And out they came, more than hundreds, more than millions. Billions more than Kyle could ever hope to count, the swarm of Hollows rained out of the rift and converged onto his form. Several at once they sank into the blurry smudge of light that was his Spirit, as it slowly reformed, slowly fading back in.

Kyle felt it all, their mana, their Spirit, all the energy contained within each collapsed soul. He heard it too, saw it, knew it. As their names, faces, emotions and memories flooded into his mind faster than he could remember.

Power filled him, like nothing had ever before. It wasn’t like his own, he couldn’t feel that. It wasn’t like he had devoured it either, no this power was something he didn’t need to tame. It was giving itself to him, it kneeled down before him and awaited his command.

This power wasn’t of a higher existence like Liliana’s, it wasn’t godly at all. No this wasn’t just power... Yet there was so much…and it just kept flooding in. He didn’t need to control it, he didn’t need to tame it…Only tell it what to do. He felt it, he knew it. Somehow he knew this, as if he had known all along ever since it first touched him

He also knew where this power came from, as the thought and the fact formed in his mind seemingly out of nowhere. Kyle felt himself regain control, able now to think clearly and speak “Hah…Avatar, you sick bastard.” He glanced at the rift, a never ending stream of Hollows flowing out of it and into his Spirit. “All who have died…All who have ever lived. These…people, I can feel them inside me. Every single one. Who they were, who they wanted to be and…who they became.”

Kyle looked away from the rift, turning to face the darkness that was the Void “Each one different from the other, every thought, voice and face unique. But one collective emotion is now true, one singular thought is being screamed into my head.” Kyle chuckled “Do you hear them? Do you hear what they say?” he asked Void.

The Void shook, making a sound akin to a snarl “FOR THE LOVE OF- JUST DISAPPEAR!” it exclaimed, as its entire mass of darkness converged on itself and took shape once more. The black fox hissed before suddenly lunging down at the tiny speck that was Kyle.

“Close but, wrong.” said Kyle as he looked up at the massive black claw that was falling down towards him “They say…”

The dark claw shredded through him, tearing up the rift and dispersing the Hollows that were still streaming out. The rift collapsed on itself, sucking in what Hollows hadn’t reached their destination and then closing.

Void glanced around, Kyle was gone…

Then suddenly he was not, as he appeared above the black fox. His form was shining brighter than ever before, as he held his hands forward “They say fuck off.” The bright light moved through his body and converged into his palms, collecting itself, forming a sphere of raw energy in which resided centuries of living generations of people.

The massive sphere was larger than a planet, larger than even a sun as it formed before Kyle’s palms and hiding him from Void’s view. “They are all collectively telling you to go to hell! And they’re all in here! Their memories! Their energy! Their very existence! You wanted to devour reality?...” Kyle willed the sphere downwards “WELL HERE’S A FUCKING PIECE OF IT!”

Void turned and dispersed its form as the goliath of light fell on top of it, it tried to flee…but the light was pulling it in. The sphere sucked the darkness into itself, bit by bit it burned away its very existence. It grew larger as it did so, as the light absorbed everything and anything that the Void was.

The darkness reached out and away from the all devouring light, clenching onto the fabric of space and tearing open rifts as it did. But for each rift it clawed open…billions of Hollows rushed out and slammed into its form, pushing it deeper into the light. The Hollows would bounce off the darkness and fly into the light, also being sucked in. And the more it absorbed of them the faster it moved, and the faster it moved the quicker it absorbed the Void.

Kyle watched, as he pulled back what remained of his mana and reformed his body. He floated aimlessly in the white emptiness that was the existence around him, doing his best to hold onto consciousness. To watch, to see every second of it. To enjoy the sight as the creature he despised so much, fell to a most ironic demise.

He forced his eyes to stay open, to see the last speck of black be absorbed by the light.

And just like that, Void was gone.

When Kyle opened his eyes, he could barely feel his own body through the soreness that announced itself to his mind. He had no clue for how long he was asleep, minutes? Hours? Days? Centuries? He had no clue.

And everything seemed even more threatening now that he looked around, the blank white emptiness that once surrounded him was…being filled. Rifts lay scattered across reality, as colour poured in and filled the emptiness.

Kyle watched in astonishment as space literally formed all around him. From planets to stars, from far away galaxies to nearby moons. A whole galaxy, an entirely new realm was being created before him. And he couldn’t see anything abnormal about it, except that everything was just forming so fast as if time was being sped up.

“Beautiful isn’t it?” asked a booming voice Kyle recognised all too well.

“Yeah…I’d ask how the hell I’m breathing and alive but I guess asking that of the Avatar of creation would be the real awkward part.” Kyle responded.

“Hm, what shall you ask instead then?” the voice asked.

Kyle gazed at a far off nebula as it formed “Is it gone?”

“Nothing is ever truly gone, Kyle. Things only change, the existence you knew as Void is now what you see all around you. Its energy, I’m changing it back to what this realm once was before the consciousness of a Nogitsune took it over. So yes, Void is theoretically, gone.” The voice explained.

Kyle sighed “Always complicated with you huh? Could’ve just said yes.”

The voice chuckled, a rumbling laugh that reverberated through space “And it is within what is complex, where the simple things are found. Would you have been satisfied with simple? Of course not, your entire life you’ve sought complexity. So why wish for simple now?”

Kyle smiled, for once a simple, genuine smile “You never know, I just might. I am a complex being after all.”

Once again the voice laughed “That you are! But alas, life must go on. What shall you do now? Your home is as we speak going through a rebellion. Chaoz on the other hand is…well, utter chaos. Where do you want me to take you?”

Kyle sighed “My home is where they are, nowhere else. No matter how messed up, no matter how fucked the situation is. With as little help as possible, and with all the damn luck we can gather…We thrive through it.”

“Good, I had hoped you wouldn’t abandon my little project.” The voice sounded pleased.

“Hope? You’re existence itself aren’t you? What is it that you cannot gain to the point that you must hope?” Kyle asked in amused disbelief.

“I may be existence but there is plenty that I am not. I am Space, but I am not Time and…much more. It is…complicated.” The voice sighed.

“Isn’t everything complicated?” Kyle chuckled, but his expression suddenly turned sullen.

“You already know the answer to that, child. Do you truly wish for me to answer that question?” the voice abruptly asked, already knowing what he was about to ask.

Kyle cringed “Better acceptance than denial…Avatar, please tell me. My parents…my family, Silva and Sly…and…her…they’re all gone forever aren’t they?”

“I could recreate them, but they wouldn’t be them them. Life isn’t what is physical or spiritual. Life is what is known. In memory they still live, within those they’ve met and interacted with. Within you. I cannot recreate memory. I cannot revive what is not lost. That is simply the way of reality.” The voice solemnly replied.

Kyle let out a long sigh, as he drifted through the stars “Thank you…I’m ready now.”

“Then go, my child. For an entire world, awaits saving. Your story has only just begun, and there is so much left to be written. Go, explore, discover, create and destroy.” The voice exclaimed “As they say…Live on.”

Reality warped around Kyle as suddenly he was sucked into a vortex of light, he flew through the tunnel of spinning spacial fabric. Looking straight ahead, he couldn’t see its end until he reached it.

Suddenly exiting out of the tunnel Kyle found himself falling, as the wind gushed through his face he descended down. Through the clouds he crashed, his vision being momentarily blocked before he burst out into the open sky below. He forced his eyes open to see, the ground so far below approaching so quickly.

From behind him a bright light suddenly shone as the clouds opened up, the sky tore open with a massive white rift. Kyle watched as from below, way before he even reached close to hitting ground, specks of different things began to fly up.

He watched as monsters of all kinds, as soldiers and machines of war flew past him and further up. Kyle watched as the enemy was sucked up by the sky and swallowed. But he continued to fall, gaining speed, as he just as quickly lost altitude.

He grimaced, making sure to keep his mouth shut as he fell. When suddenly the sound of screaming began all around him.

“WHHHTTTEEFFKKK!?” shouted a muffled and mangled voice from his left, followed by several more voices and screams.

Kyle glanced about, to see them all falling with him.

Skill, the Elven ranger.

Soren, the Dwarven berserker.

Birse, the Halfbeast dark paladin.

Jacky, Halfbeast assassin.

Vain, the Dwarven monk.

Seren, the Halfbeast cleric.

Death, the Dark Elf pyromancer.

Steph, the Frost Elf elementalist.

CH, the Halfbeast druid.

Cherry, the Halfbeast guardian.

Woody, the Unicorn.

Sparta, the Human Valkyrie.

Jane, the Mer rogue.

Rico, the Dark Elf spearman.

Zaahr, the Wood Elf battlemage.

Karnage, the Halfbeast blade dancer.

And last but not least, Lilior the half Fae, quarter dungeon, quarter demi-deity companion.

They all plummeted down alongside him. Some embracing the fall and shooting straight down with legs together and arms held tightly to their bodies. Others were calm, limbs sprawled out as they tried to slow their fall. The rest were screaming messes, shouting gibberish as they grasped at the empty air and wiggled about.

But they were all there.

Together.

And together they fell, down towards the world they will now and again call…home.

“AAALLLLOVVVUUUALLLLL!” Shouted Kyle, it came out as gibberish but it was enough for him. Even as he just began to shout out at the top of his lungs, an empty, meaningless shout as they fell.

As all together, they hit the ground and splattered dead.
