《Our Chaoz; Our Reality (Completed)》Ch 26 - Ever hungry spawn of nightmares

Driving at full speed the steamicle evaded trees, hills and spurts of acid as it drove towards the mountains.
“KEEP YOUR HEADS LOW!” Klein shouted while standing on his seat, staring back at the monstrosities that chased them in the sky.
Somewhere in between Carn and now these creatures decided they were their next snack. A reptilian arrowhead growing out of a scaled torso of white and blue that gleamed in the sun, two strong legs with too large claws growing out of the bottom and one thin long tail twice the size of the rest growing out the back ending in fork like blades. Instead of arms the creatures had large leathery bat like wings so white you could make out the sky behind them, at the end of each wing another set of long scythe like claws.
The wyverns screeched with joy as they circled their dinner like vultures, two of them staring down at the steamicle full of fresh meat. From down below Kyle guessed them to be the size of the vehicle itself but when one swooped down to grab them with its hind legs…He found he was sorely wrong as the beasts were three times in width and not counting the tail four in length. Everyone ducked down as one approached, its claws open wide to grab.
Klein raised his arms up as suddenly a large twin bladed battle axe appeared within them, parrying the wyvern’s dive he pushed it aside with the flat face of his axe making it crash down into the snow. He held on immediately as the steamicle swerved to the right evading another spurt of acid from the second wyvern, the other got up from the snow and re-joined it’s companion in circling them from above.
“Why does everything want to kill us…Why does everything want to kill us!” Reyna repeated to herself as she ducked down in front of the seat, facing Karnage as she tried console Reyna.
Glancing back up Kyle inspected them.
Frost Wyvern [Level 73] Frost Wyvern [Level 73]
“Dammit can’t you do anything about them?” Kyle shouted at Klein as he prepared himself to parry another dive.
“Normally we could but in our current situation…All we can do is hope they lose interest or we reach the mountain entrance!” Klein replied back as one of the wyverns dived down, parrying its claws again he pushed it back as it’s tail swooped from underneath and at him. He let go of his axe as the tail coiled around it, the wyvern ready to pull him up along with it. “Kess!”
The whole time Kess had been chanting in another language from the back seat, concentrating on her magic as suddenly the second wyvern swooped down.
“Big guy duck!” Skill shouted as he took aim “Rain like hail! Scatter shot!” the arrow took a green hue right before Skill let go, separating into a dozen other arrows the barrage took the wyvern by surprise. It flapped its wings diverting or knocking the arrows away then rose back up into the sky hissing in annoyance as it did.
“Great now you pissed it off!” Vulk shouted as he glanced up at the wyvern.
Both wyverns glided on each side of the steamicle, opening their jaws wide they revealed their dozens of needle like fangs as their tongue slithered about them. Both of them sprayed their acid in unison, showering it down like two streams of death at the vehicle.
Stopping her chant Kess raised her arms up with hands wide open “Blazing barrier!” black fire burst out from her hands and surrounded the steamicle shielding them from the acid as it disintegrated on touch with the fire. “I couldn’t finish the channelling! It won’t last!” She exclaimed.

“Fuck this” Sly stood up taking out two daggers.
“Oh no way” Kyle grabbed him by the shoulder and pulled him back “Last thing we need is the nuke to fight the wyverns!” he glanced over at Klein “I’ve got an idea, but I need a bipod” he declared.
Both Sly and Klein looked at him with confused expressions.
“A human, well half-beast and whatever mask guy is bipod.” Kyle explained as he turned around and sat on the front seat’s back, raising both arms in front of himself he began chanting “Monsters heart beating inside along my own! Core Overload!”. Crimson red slime burst out from his arms and collided in between “Get ready to hold it up!” he told them as the slime took shape.
The wyverns screeched and hissed angrily as they continued to circle around the sphere of black fire, streams of acid continuously barraging it as it moved forward along with the steamicle inside. The fire faltered several times as the wyverns attacked it from afar, noticing the weakening barrier one dived down at it. Hissing loudly it flew right behind them barraging the fire at close range with its acid.
“Pierce through their scales, tear away their wings and destroy their flesh! Slime Cannon! Demonic Rounds!” The barrier of fire disintegrated as a loud blast sounded off inside, through the flames a large crimson bullet of armoured slime flew towards the wyvern. Scale like sections covered the bullet, each growing a long pitch black fang like blade that trembled along with the scale beneath it as the bullet travelled. At the end of the bullet, three scales grew out from the rest into a point kept together by blue frozen slime between them.
The wyvern screeched in agony as the bullet tore through its abdomen, scales crashing with scales as the fangs dug into flesh. The bullet collapsed on itself on contact, the scales and fangs on the back spread out while pushing the ones on the front further in dealing more damage. In through the abdomen it went and out the back it got out, slime, scales, flesh and fangs scattering into a shower of gore.
The wyvern collapsed into the snow, tumbling over itself as it continued screech in agony until coming to a stop. It lay there with its snout in the snow as it absorbed the blood turning red, the wyvern’s wings momentarily rose as if readying to take flight again only to collapse to the ground.
You have killed [Frost Wyvern] Level 73! Through faith in your own abilities and some tinkering the skill [Slime Cannon] was created! Active sub-skill [Demonic Rounds] created! Through pure genius the skill [Ooze] has gained a new attribute [Condensed Slime] Level up! (x18) Level 25 attribute points received (+5) Level 30 attribute points received (+10) Level 35 attribute points received (+10)
“You killed a wyvern…a fully grown wyvern…” Klein stared back at the corpse as he helped Sly hold up the giant cannon, a large barrel of demonic slime covered in an armoured shell of black scales kept still together with frozen blue slime. The cannon so long it grew over the steamicle’s pipes for over another meter, the barrel thicker than the pipes themselves.
“Next!” Kyle shouted as he waited for Vulk to take aim, the cannon too large for them to move. With his arms surrounded by red slime and hands deep inside the cannon he used the proximity to reload more quickly saving him precious time from [Core Overload] at the cost of some damage sustained from the pressure and vibration caused by the explosion propelling the projectiles.

“Left! A bit more! Shit right!” Skill directed Vulk on taking aim while he turned the steamicle as told.
“There’s no way we’re hitting the second one!” Sly stated while watching as the wyvern purposely moved out of the way of the cannon while approaching, baring its fangs fiercely as it hissed in anger.
“Ready!” Kyle declared having reloaded the weapon, condensed frozen slime filling most of the cannon ready for the bullet to be created.
“It’s moving too much! We can’t get a sure hit!” Skill announced as the wyvern serpentined behind them.
“Then we’ll just have to widen our area of effect!” Kyle replied as he changed the end of the cannon’s barrel, widening it then creating ten smaller [Demonic Rounds] “Break their scales! Clip their wings and fill them with holes! Slime Shotgun! Demonic Rounds!” firing away each round exploded along with the propelling explosion sending slime, scales and fangs flying at the wyvern.
Engulfed by a wave of slime the wyvern crashed down into the snow confused by the attack, the slime having stuck to most of its body and face impeding it’s sight and smell.
Kyle shrugged “Well that didn’t work as intended…” while wiping a scale out of his hair.
Reyna groaned in disgust as she wiped off red slime from her hair “Oh come on…” her, Karnage and Kess engulfed by the red slime that made up the end of the barrel.
Karnage wiped her face from the slime “Huh it doesn’t feel as bad as I thought…squishy but-”
“Don’t…continue that line of thought…” Reyna cut her off while glancing away.
“It’s not over yet!” Looking back at the wyvern Kess shouted to get their attention.
The monstrosity rose from the snow and opened its wings wide, fangs bared and hissing loud enough to hear albeit the distance it glared at them with raw rage. It took flight at blinding speed, every moment rising higher and higher as frost began to form around its wings. The Icicles grew too quickly to be natural, forming on it’s leathery wings looking like blades. Reaching so high up they could barely see it due to the sun’s light it stopped ascended, too heavy from the ice surrounding its wings to continue.
Klein’s eyes went wide in understanding “Gods save us…”.
The wyvern stretched out its wings backwards and dove down, the weight of the ice along with the positioning of its wings giving it an incredibly quick descent. Like an arrow it whistled down towards them, changing its trajectory as it dove. The wind cut as it went by, the blades of ice covering it sharp enough to make the sound of a master craft sword in the wind.
“Hold on!” Kyle shouted as the slime cannon completely lost its shape, gathering all the scales, fangs and demonic slime in proximity he focused on changing it. The large wave of red and blue slime formed all around the steamicle as the blue suddenly began to take over “Change!” Kyle unconsciously shouted as the blue completely took over “Freeze! Packed Ice!”.
Reaching a couple meters above the steamicle the wyvern opened its wings wide and flapped forwards sending a barrage of blades raining down on top of them. The first few tore through the still freezing slime while the rest impaled the packed barrier embedding themselves into it, cracks formed and some parts broke off but the shield withstood.
Enraged the wyvern descended and clawed away at the shield with its legs and tail, hissing loudly all the while.
“We’re so fucked!” Reyna whispered as she watched the barrier crack above her, claws breaking through the condensed slime of ice.
“I’m out!” Kyle shouted as his [Core Overload] ran out of time, putting him under mana exhaustion. The barrier instantly dissipated along with any other slime he had created, leaving them ripe for the picking for the enraged flying serpent of blades above them.
The wyvern screeched hungrily as it descended down, claws wide open, tail lunging downwards and fangs bared.

Before the blast hit them a blinding light flashed into their eyes as something crashed into the wyvern, blinking to readjust his eyes Kyle stared in astonishment as the armoured Dwarf head butted the wyvern at break neck speed. Both of them crashed back into the snow as Vulk swerved the steamicle around to a stop, everyone stared off at the cloud of steam where the two landed.
“The hell was that?” Karnage asked trying to see through the rising steam.
A gust of wind from flapping wings cleared the steam revealing the pissed off wyvern and its new adversary, standing approximately 3 and a half feet tall. The Dwarf wore iron chain armour above plate that had pulsating red carvings which emitted great levels of heat, where ever it stepped the snow melted at the touch of its iron boots. The Dwarf laughed maniacally as it pointed it’s twin bladed pole-axe at the wyvern with one hand, mocking it.
Sly palmed his face and began to laugh “That” he gestured at the Dwarf “Is Soren”
Grinning Kyle inspected the welcome surprise.
Soren [Forged Berserker] (Hammer & Anvil) Level 68
Soren continued to mock the wyvern with a gruff voice as it hissed and barred its fangs “Come on you overgrown gecko! Come at me!” he waved his axe in front of himself, the weapon radiating with heat.
The wyvern lunged forward with its maw sideways, rows behind rows of razor fangs enclosing on Soren. Grinning without worry Soren held his pole-axe forward as the wyvern’s fangs closed in on him, stopping barely reaching him the wyvern found its mouth full with the pole-axe. Momentarily letting go of the pole Soren raised both arms up and bashed down on it, smashing the wyvern’s head into the cold snow.
Grabbing hold of his weapon again he pulled it out breaking a couple fangs off in the process, “Let’s see ye get a hold of it this time!” the pole-axe glowed a fiery red as all the snow around him suddenly began to evaporate. The wyvern stepped back as it hissed at him, wings opening wide as it prepared to fly off. “Oh hell no you don’t!” he declared as the snow beneath his legs suddenly exploded sending him flying forwards, hacking low two-handed with his axe he caught the wyvern’s right wing as he spun and ascended his attack.
The wyvern screeched in agony, falling forwards into the snow it began lashing out at everything around it randomly. Soren backed off from the ball of claws and fangs as it ravaged the ground around itself.
“Get at it!” He shouted while parrying any lunge the wyvern’s long tail sent his way.
“On it On it!” a serpentine voice replied, searching around for the voice nobody could locate its owner until the creature fired it’s weapon. Gunfire sounded off as a single projectile pierced through the rampaging wyvern’s scales, waves of electricity surged through its body before it fell limply to the ground.
The Scalarian appeared out of nowhere as he stood up from the snow wearing nothing more than a pair of grey leather pants, grey and white cloak and hood. With silver scales and large bright blue eyes, the reptilian humanoid was difficult to make out with the snowy background. In his arms was a long rifle like weapon with the key differences being the blue crystal at the end of the barrel and the many other crystal fragments with different colours lining it all the way to the butt.
Kyle inspected him as well.
Silvaragon [Technomancer] (Tinkerer) Level 69
“Oohohoh! Now that’s a big catch!” Soren chuckled as he approached the stunned wyvern, raising his axe high he hacked downwards into it’s neck. The axe dug deep but stopped about midway through the neck as blood and scale fragments scattered, grunting while pulling out the axe Soren raised it up a second time and again hacked at it only to cut down at another spot.
“Dammit” He cursed pulling the axe back out and raising it for a third time, this time for sure cutting through the previous attack and all the way through beheading the creature.
“Yo dibs on the tail” Silv stated as he approached the corpse, throwing his rifle back as it held over his shoulder with its leather belt.
Clearing his throat Kyle waved at the both of them as they turned now fully noticing the others, Soren and Silv momentarily stared at them before the Dwarf spoke “Kyll?! Sly?! Skill!?”. He shouted out the names before opening his arms wide and walking towards them, spluttered with blood and scale fragments that baked on his armour he stepped towards them.
Sly continued to palm his face “Red necks…” he muttered to himself.
Hopping out of the steamicle Kyle walked over to Soren “How you been bro?”.
“Grinding as you should have pleb, what’s with the level?” Soren asked with a chuckle.
Kyle scratched his head and dodged the topic “Shit happened man, what you doing here? We were headed directly to Kaledd to pick you two up!”
Silv was the one to reply as he also approached them “That place’s all kinds of shit, it’s bad over there. Like really bad, we got the hell out after the bitch disappeared from the sky. The hell did you guys say? She was pissed as fuck after listening to someone!”
Holding back a grin Kyle told them what he’d told her causing Soren to enter a fit of laughter “What did she reply with?”
Silv shrugged “Something about knocking down a wall and crushing a town? Then something about a ram? Didn’t pay too much attention to her blabbering.”
“Well at least we know who’s fault that was” Karnage chimed in jokingly.
Silv glanced around Kyle and at the backseat “Heyyy”
“Ew, No” Karnage exclaimed backing away from the edge.
Silv turned around and walked off to a tree, crouching down facing the bark he lay there hugging his knees.

Why then does the World Government want Keynes so badly they will silence anyone who knows about his Talent? At the same time... Somewhere in the Universe, ancient beings stir from their slumber, awoken by the system alert and the wall of glaring red warnings. Their greatest fear just manifested and they are hell-bent on erasing it from existence. -------- It is a slow-development story, so you won't find the MC with super powers at the beginning. -------- It is a coming of age story and focuses on a Talent system (in the beginning) with several additions that bring to the table upgrading of a planet’s tier and such (a bit later). There will be quite an amount of rebuilding society as new, unknown resources enter the economy, and a lot of travelling, delving and naturally, unlocking the secrets of the Universe. As for the setting, the story starts in XXI century, which technology-wise isn't much different from what we have now, but it is enhanced by magic associated with Talents. This allowed the humankind to colonize the solar system, but the technology that allows for interstellar travel doesn't exist (yet). Because it’s my first attempt at LitRPG, please be forgiving but constructive. I hope you will enjoy the story! --- Cover by Daniel Gembus https://www.artstation.com/daniel_gembus instagram.com/danielgembus
