The personification of a crowd surrounding the battlefield cheered, a roaring bellow of excitement as two teams faced one another.

Rising behind them was one team’s main base, a construct of blue crystal and metal mechanisms, defended by a group of five warriors. Rising tall as they awaited together, knights, mages, archers and rogues amongst them.

As approaching them was the enemy team, rushing through a path of destruction they previously left, there were only four visible at first.

The blue team’s mages stepped forth to cast their magic, their fighters charging ahead also to meet the red team’s advance in kind.

Five on four, the numbers were clearly on the blue team’s side, as the clash began.

Fire and ice filled the area as the mages encompassed it with their power, whilst in between the fighters met, blade and hammer, shield and knuckles, weapons met amidst the rage of magic.

But the red team was being pushed back, outnumbered as the enemy team’s rogue suddenly appeared behind their sole mage.

The red mage turning to meet the rogue’s lunge, smiled widely at the cloaked figure as he deflected the ambush well enough to survive.

As the blue rogue then realized his mistake.

As a shadow soared above them all, and the crowd cheered louder.

The ground quaking as he landed before the two blue mages and sole ranger.

A dark rogue class’s cloak with linings of blood red, but unlike the blue rogue no daggers or knives were in sight upon his person.

As this red rogue slashed forth his sole weapon, grinning widely as he did, the massive weapon slashed right through the two mages sending them soaring backward.

The blue ranger though evaded the attack, leaping back she fired several arrows down upon the assailant. Landing none, as this red rogue deflected all with his wide blade.

Holding it before himself like a shield, and with a single hand, the weapon was larger than even his character’s body.

An unorthodox mixture of class and weapon style, but for this player, it worked. For this player thrived.

{Hybrid/Rogue} Nidhogg {MG} {Level 17}

“Let’s get the show started then shall we?!” Nidhogg exclaimed enthusiastically, a wicked smirk plastering his face as he suddenly rushed forth, a single step and his form burst into shadow.

Reappearing suddenly before the two injured mages, as one summoned forth a wall of stone to stop him.

Stop him it did not, as this Nidhogg smashed right into the wall, bursting back into shadow and disappearing once more.

“A fake!” The blue ranger warned, but it was too late.

As the massive blade pierced into one blue mage’s back and through their entire body, cleaving them in half.

The second mage turned to face the killer, summoning upon him a blaze of red-hot fire.

The ranger in turn took aim, charging up his class’s snipe ability, he expected the assailant to evade and charge at him instead.

Yet, Nidhogg at first stood his ground, as the flames engulfed him.

The ranger lost sight of him, all but a puff of black smoke being the last thing he saw.

The mage on the other hand, the last thing he saw was a blade and its maniac wielder appearing out of the blaze his staff spewed and charging straight at him. A magical barrier of black smoke surrounded Nidhogg as he charged forwards, deflecting some of the flames, still the spell damaged him severely.

Even as he stopped before the caster, his weapon cleaving the man into two, Nidhogg’s body was badly burned.

But Nidhogg did not care, two kills at the cost of some damage, to him it was all worth.

As he turned to face the ranger who upon seeing the blaze dissipate, fired his charged-up skill.

“Hah, always the show-off.” Mused a voice, as a large goliath of a red knight suddenly stepped into the ranger’s line of fire, heaving forth a great shield, the knight blocked the blue ranger’s attack.

Ignoring his ally’s comment, Nidhogg took the opportunity, leaping onto his massive back and then off again. He rose into the air, weapon held high, as the ranger was distracted by the sight of his entire team lying dead nearby.

“It’s over,” Nidhogg said, descending upon the blue ranger, his weapon bashing down upon him with great force.

Pummelling the player into the ground, still he somehow survived with some health remaining, immediately pulling himself up and dashing out of melee range, he turned tail to return to his team’s spawn point.

The blue ranger ran, as fast as he could and being the fastest class he was sure they couldn’t catch up with him.

That is until, a massive sword landed into his path, piercing into the ground and embedding itself there, the ranger had no choice but to slow down and deviate to the side.

That’s when he felt it, he felt a hand grasping the back of his head as wisps of shadow flew out from behind himself.

Feeling the hand push him down, the ranger was bashed face first into the ground.

Struggling, he reached for his short sword and pushed away his assailant, turning over to take a stab at them.

He found nobody, nothing standing over him but wisps of black smoke.

As the sound of earth shifting sounded off from nearby, he knew he was done for.

Turning to follow the sound, he saw then as Nidhogg charged at him, his massive weapon retrieved.

Rising to his feet, the ranger called upon his own magic, sending forth several vines to rise from the ground and grab at the charging beast of a player.

Seeing this Nidhogg slowed down his charge, coming to a jogging stop as he raised his massive sword backward, taking aim as the vines entangled first around his feet.

The ranger’s eyes opened wide, turning to evade the attack as the blade soared towards him.

Side-stepping the massive weapon by the smallest inch, still it caught him slightly on his left arm.

Hearing then the sound of his magic dispelling, the blue ranger turned to face Nidhogg once more.

Finding him now standing before himself, fist clenched and grin wickedly wide, shadows engulfed Nidhogg’s entire arm as he burst into shadows.

Appearing at first several feet away, before returning to shadow and reappearing before the blue ranger once again.

His fist smashing into the blue player’s face, Nidhogg chuckled as he threw them tumbling back and crashing into their own core structure.

“I said,” Nidhogg mused as his team came to stand behind him, the large knight handing him back his massive weapon as they all stood now before the dead ranger, and their victory objective.

Nidhogg raised his weapon high, as shadows engulfed its wide edge.

“Game over.”

The dream then warped and changed, as several scenes rushed by.

The sound of the crowd cheering, suddenly changed to a unified gasp of surprise, to then utter silence.

His view, Kaine’s view, warped from the objective laying before him.

To it laying across the entire map from him.

With nothing defending it.

With the rest of his and the entire enemy teams laying wiped out.

He stood alone, with an easy path ahead to victory.

Kaine though did not step forward.

Instead, Nidhogg raised his weapon forth before himself.

“I resign.” He said, dropping his weapon to the ground then.

To this the silence changed once more, to a consistent bellow of booing.

As any and every insult imaginable was thrown at him from the crowd, as his own team’s voices shouted into his ears, just as confused and frustrated.

Kaine though did not respond, he couldn’t respond.

As the dream ended there.

Opening his eyes, Kaine took a deep breath, his body relaxing from the nightmare.

Glancing around, he found himself laying on a pelt of fur in the corner of a dimly lit cave. Sighing in relief as he saw his companions asleep nearby, he stood up from where he lay. Stretching out his body, then retrieving his weapons, Kaine once more took a long deep breath.

Glancing over their sleeping faces again, Kaine did not ponder over waking them up. Instead he turned for the exit, walking out of the cave alone, Kaine left.

But unknown to him was that not all of them were asleep.

As Rey’s eyes peaked open once he had left, turning over and away from kicking her brother’s face with her foot, she rose into sitting. Gazing off at the cave’s exit.

Eyes narrowing with curiosity and worry, she suddenly slapped both cheeks with both palms, nodding to herself Rey had made up her mind.

I’m putting the puzzle that is Jor together, piece by piece, I’ll figure this weirdo out!
