《Kindred》Chapter 26 - I Won't Lose Miss to You!

“So, what are we hunting?” Miss asks Prince Si.
“Golden Griffins.” Prince Si says with a serious tone.
Golden Griffins? What are those?
“Golden? What is the difference between the golden and normal ones?” Miss asks curiously, it seems her interest was sparked.
“As the name suggests, every Golden Griffin is born with at least a Golden Core.” Prince Si says with a grin on his face while looking at me.
Golden Core?
If I remember correctly that should be the third highest level core?
Umm… Blue, Green, Red, Golden, White, and Black?
Mou, I don’t know!
Uguuu… Don’t think you have won, Prince Si!
I lean my head against Miss’s shoulder, then I show Prince Si my smug face.
“… Not only that, every five years a flock of over thousand Griffins flies over a certain island.” Prince Si says while glaring at me.
“Oh? So it’s an opportunity that comes every five years?” Miss leans forward, curiosity written all over her face.
A smile blossoms on Prince Si’s face.
He looks at me with his eyes while grinning like a fool at Miss.
“That’s right, but that’s not all.” Prince Si teases.
Hngngn! Annoying!
I lift Miss’s arm and wrap it around my shoulder.
Hmph! Try beating this!
“You! I mean, Yes. I told you that Golden Griffins fly over that island every 5 years, right?” Prince Si asks.
Did you already forget or are you uselessly trying to prolong your conversation with Miss!?
“Yes, yes!” Miss nods.
“While the Golden Griffins fly over every 5 years, their leader flies over every 100 years!” Prince Si talks happily.
Seeing Miss so interested, his smile grows more and more.
“Hmm? Why is that?” Miss asks curiously.
“No one knows, in the history of Quas, Golden Griffin’s leader was caught only once.”

“Only once?” Miss asks in disbelief.
“That’s correct. The leader caught that time was at the level of Martial Overlord!” Prince Si says seriously.
“Martial Overlord!” Miss looks shocked.
As am I.
A beast on the level of Martial Overlord!
Just how formidable was that Griffin?
“So this time, the leader will appear again?” Miss asks.
“Yes, a week from now. This will be the third time for this leader to fly over the island.” Prince Si says.
“Hoo… If no one was able to subdue it yet, doesn’t that mean it’s quite formidable?” Miss asks with sparkling eyes.
“Heh.” Prince Si looks at me with a triumphant expression.
D, do you think you already won?!
“It was in the middle of the Martial Sage rank the last time it flew over.” Prince Si informs Miss.
“Hmm? How come no one was able to subdue it if it’s only at the middle of Martial Sage?” It seems that something is amiss.
“Hmm… The former leader’s strength was balanced in all aspects.”
Why is he talking with a smug face!
I won’t lose Miss to you!
Secret Technique: Comfy detection!
“Awu…” I stand up.
“This leader, however-”
“What’s wrong, Latifa?” Miss interrupts Prince Si.
Oisho. There. Comfy place.
I settle down on Miss’s lap.
I look at Prince Si. His brows are twitching.
I show him my victory face.
Then, I take Miss’s hands into mine and pull forward.
Making Miss embrace me.
A drop of sweat falls from Prince Si’s forehead.
A drop of defeat.
I won.
