《Kindred》Chapter 6 - Miss Gave Me a Name!

“Blueergh.”
I vomited my lunch.
I have seen a lot of blood when the soldiers occupied the mansion. And I have seen a lot of bizarre things in the Slave House. But I never saw a head pop like a balloon.
After vomiting I try to wipe my mouth with my sleeve. The feeling in my mouth is horrible…
“Ah…!” Miss suddenly cries out.
“Sweetie, you can’t wipe that in your sleeve!” Miss runs up to me.
I unconsciously start trembling. Did I do something wrong? Am I going to get scolded? These thoughts run through my mind.
However, Miss used the sleeve on her clothes to wipe my mouth instead.
“Funyaa~” Being cared about felt so good I let out a weird sound. My face instantly turned red.
Miss’s cold smile is now replaced with a gentle one.
She stops wiping my mouth and scans me from the top to the bottom. She then nods in satisfaction.
“Oi! D, don’t ignore us! Do you know what you just did?!” Jack yells out and destroys the nice mood.
“What? Still talking back?” Miss says coldly.
The instant change in Miss’s expression is quite scary.
“Y, y, you just killed two of my friends! I won’t let you off!”
“Isn’t that right gu-”
“Guys?”
Jack looks behind him, expecting his two friends still behind him. But he only sees their backs in the distance.
“What? Still not getting out of my sight? Scram off and clean this mess up!” Miss coldly yelled at Jack.
Miss then turns back to face me, grabs my hand and says.
“Come, sweetie. Come with Big Sis to the city.”
City? I don’t know if I can be of any use. So far, I have been locked in all places I have been.

Furthermore, I can’t speak. I won’t be of any use to Miss. Shouldn’t she take someone more capable with her? Is what I wanted to ask. But I can’t.
Miss drags me to the gate, where palanquins are parked.
On the way here, I felt like someone was watching us from the trees, but that must be my imagination.
The maid standing next to the palanquin greets Miss and holds the curtain for her.
“Awuuu~!”
While thinking if I can keep up with the carriers, Miss pulled me inside.
She carefully places me on her lap.
“Awawa?” I asked in a panic.
“Hmmm?” Miss tilts her head. Looks like my questions wasn’t understood.
What I wanted to ask was “What are you doing, Miss?”
Slave servants like me shouldn’t even touch the palanquin.
But before I could wriggle out of Miss’s embrace, the palanquin is lifted up.
“Auuu…” I sigh in defeat.
“Hehe, you are so cute…”
“Awuu!” Please don’t make fun of me, Miss. There’s no way a crippled thing like me can be considered cute.
“Hehe~” Miss tightened her embrace and rested her chin on my head.
“You see, when I asked around what is your name, no one was able to answer me clearly”
“And because you can’t tell me yourself, I decided to give you a name myself~” Miss says in a playful tone.
N, name?
Naming someone like me?
Is it okay for someone like me to have a name?
“Latifa.”

8 704The Humble Life of a Skill Trainer
For Joshua Still, Skills were the lifeblood of his business. He wanted to understand them, collect many of them, and teach a few of them. Which was a problem because while his profession of a Skill Trainer was perfectly legal, it was frowned upon by most of the kingdom. After all, it wouldn't do for a non-tailor to teach Tailoring. Or, so says the Tailors Guild. The same could be said by the Blacksmiths, the Bakers, the Butchers, the Candlestick Makers, the Mages, and every other Guild with enough money and clout to complain. But still, Skill Trainers provide a valuable service, and so he has managed to start his business and keep it under the table. To a degree. With many a bribe. But his quiet anonymous life of research, practice, and training was about to change. When the Baron demands you pay him a visit, you have little choice.
8 300The Complete Alchemyst book 2
Continuation of the Alchemyst book 1 Sometimes to be the good guy, you gotta be the bad guy. This is a story about Louis, a guy that was just trying to get along before he got kidnapped and forced to play cook by a Cartel. He's no Heisenberg, however. Now that he's out of Prison and put a beat down on some of the folks that put him away, he's facing the real pressures of Life as a single-person superpower: Everyone wants to use him for their own purposes. Along the way he's met a few girls, some good, some bad. He's looking to save the world, establish an evil empire, secure a future for the people he considers his, and maybe finally kill that damned superhero that started it all. This is not 'the boys'. Not all superheroes or supervillains are evil, The 'super' world is expanding to include aliens, magic, and the children of ancient deities and legends. This is NOT a superhero genre deconstruction. Many heroes truly are heroes, and they don't all need to be destroyed to make a good story, but it does look into the dark side of superpowers and the unreasonable and often contradictory demands placed on exceptional people. Please note that this book has extremely graphic and sometimes gross fight scenes, heroes as villains, villains as heroes, opinionated and often politically incorrect characters, some graphic sex scenes, dad jokes, dirty jokes, realistic depictions of romance and flirting, bondage and dominance themes, and more than a few cuss words when they are really appropriate.
