《The Life of a Dungeon》Chapter 41

After wondering a bit about that crystal tree, Teaghan went back to exploring the underwater lake. She was able to push her domain to finally fully cover the whole lake. She was able to get a couple of centimetres into the tunnels. After Teaghan covered the lake, she pulled up the blue screens of any variants or new creatures discovered in the lake.

Water Coral

A species of coral that has merged with water crystals. This type of coral has grown around water crystals and has, over time, merged with the crystals. This species of crystalized coral is alive and continues to grow. Though it has the same abilities as the water crystals do.

Wish Fish

A species of fish that is said to be truly magical. In legend, they are believed to give wishes to whoever catches them. This species of fish is highly magical and is incredibly rare. They are small, fast, and have rainbow-coloured scales.

Whiskered Snake

A species of aquatic water snake that has potent venom. This creature can grow up to one meter long and has whisker-like feelers to help discover prey. This snake species has poor eye-sight but has an excellent sense of smell and is able to find prey through vibrations through the water.

Feeler Plant

A species of aquatic plant that tends to lightly wrap around anything that brushes against it. It has long leaves and stems that will cover and tangle anything that it brushes up against.

Sea Grass

A species of aquatic grass that is commonly found in both fresh and saltwater. This species of underwater grass, despite its name, is often found in places with sandy beds. Depending on what is around it, this species of grass will change colour.

Teaghan quickly dismissed the blue screens after reading them and continued exploring every inch and cranny of the underwater lake. With that, she also knew that it was time to create defences and populate it with her own creatures. Everything else had to be put on the back burner, including the un-absorbable bones.

The first thing that she needed to do was secure the tunnel entrances so that nothing dangerous could come through. There were four tunnels, two beside together, one on the ceiling and one on another wall. These tunnels led to the unknown, a potentially dangerous unknown. She decided that she would layer the entrances with corals, hoping to naturally deter anything that would come out.

As Teaghan did this, she felt the multi-tasking ability pull her attention to the third floor. A group of adventurers had finally made it to the third floor.

She pulled her attention to watch the group and saw that it was one of the first groups that came into her dungeon.

POV Tsethem Adventuring Group

After a couple of dives, the group was finally able to reach the third floor. When they entered the third floor, they saw that it was different than the previous two rooms. To them, it looked like this floor consisted of probably only one room, but who knows. As far as they knew, they were the first ones to reach the third floor.

Tore spoke to the group before they fully entered the floor. “Like always, guys, don’t make stupid moves and don’t put yourself in a precarious situation. Remember, we don’t know what’s out there. Collect anything you can, and the guild will probably give us a reward. Everybody in positions?”

With that, the group nodded and slowly walked out onto the floor.

They saw an extremely dense rainforest, with a river crossing through the floor. They walked through the path on the river, and it directed them to the left. They followed a dirt path through the forest. At the beginning of their trek, they tried to go off the path, but it was too dense, and they had no information about this floor. The further that they walked, the more that they noticed webs on the trees. Soon, they reached a branch in the road.

“Alright guys, which way should we go?” asked Tore.

“Let’s flip a coin. Anyways you can’t tell which path is part of the main trail, so just flip a coin,” responded Samuel.

“Anybody have a coin?” asked Tore.

“I have a copper bit,” said Theodore.

“Pass it here, I’ll flip it,” said Leire as Theodore tossed the bit to her. She grabbed the coin and called out, “Heads for right and tails for left.”

“Heads” responded Niko.

When Niko said this, she tossed the coin, and it landed on tails.

“Looks like we’re going left,” responded Tore.

The group travelled through the fork’s left branch, and quickly they got attacked by a creature. After a couple of minutes, Leire called out to the group and said that they were being followed. Everybody was a lot more cautious when they heard this, and they were right to be. After a minute passed, a couple of large spiders attacked them. They quickly killed them before they were set upon by more spiders.

When they finally killed off all of the spiders, Tore sighed and turned to the group, who was recovering.

“Should we stop for today? We are all exhausted and were not prepared for giant spiders,” spoke Tore as the group recovered.

“I’m about halfway through my mana. I’m down for stopping and heading back,” replied Niko.

“Ya, we should stop for the day,” replied Samuel.

“So, is everybody in agreement?” asked Tore as he watched the group all nod in agreement.

“All right then, let’s grab a couple of samples and ingredients from the spiders and the loot, and let’s head back,” said Tore.

The group packed up, grabbed some parts from the spiders, and started retracing their steps towards the exit.

POV Merchant Guild Master Lional Fernandez

The merchant guild had gotten word of the new dungeon up near the everlasting mountains. This, ordinarily, would not come to Lional Fernandez’s attention, as he was the merchant guild master of the Ekesh continent. But this dungeon was different. One of the merchant guild’s informants within the adventurers guild gave information that this dungeon was different and potentially a potential gold mine for a profit. Apparently, some dead creatures that have been brought out haven’t been seen in a long time. There have also been some potential sightings of valuable minerals. Not only that, but the Archmage Orius has apparently taken an interest in this dungeon and decided to move his place of residence to the town associated with the dungeon.

This alone made it worthy of their attention. So Lional decided to send out a caravan out there to scope out any potential extra profits that could come out of this dungeon, other than the profit that every other dungeon brings.

If there is, then a proper guild building and a local guild master would be sent out to Porta. But he hoped that no other guild got information and hints about this dungeon.
