Chapter 12
“Disintegration!”
Using my cane I shot my spell directly toward an incoming charge of demons, managing to puncture a hole into their advance and giving Greetman and Ousay the chance to retaliate.
We just managed to reach the battlefield and it was immense.
Seeing the flying aircraft shooting down on the army and even the thousands of strange humanoids wreaking havoc through the demonic rank brought about a sense of excitement with all of us.
In almost the middle of the battlefield which by the way was enormous we saw giant pillars and tornados made of a dark matter…death magic.
A moment later while Greetman and Ousay and the rest of the men that came with us here were fighting
We were surprised to see a head of an atrocious creature suddenly appear out of nowhere and fall close to us.
There was a huge thud and the beast that the Overlord rode fell to its knees.
All six of them.
The presence of two enormous forces was washing over us.
One was empowering us while the other was suffocating.
“We need to get to the heart of the battle Osfor! Use more power!” said Greetman who was the most exited of all of us.
His veins and body was pumping strength and power while his attacks grew wilder and more savage.
Ripping the heads of any unfortunate devil or demon that crossed him with ease.
Only a devil lord would prove to be a challenge to this guy…
“Overdrive!”
I used my signature spell and went into an overdrive of magic.
This spell is severely taxing and using it two times in a day is too much even for me. But we need more fire power to get to the center of the field.
Once I called upon the power that can make me use spiritual and elemental magic I began to call upon the fire golems.
Dozens of them at a time and they too began pushing away the devils.
The humanoid creatures got closer to us and they seemed friendly as they killed the demons one after another.
They were the size of a normal man with six hands all carrying enflamed swords.
Each strike of their blades was calculated and mostly lethal.
A great surge of magic soon exploded in the middle of the fight. Soon after, one of the presences faded. Leaving only the suffocating one that became mush severer.
Fearing the worst we picked up the pace that we were killing the devils with. Soon after, however a golden dome then rose.
That dome however was attacked by numerous spells from something but was remaining unfazed and undamaged for a moment.
Soon after that, the dome broke and a presence far surpassing the one coming from probably the Overlord washed over the battlefield.
We were now very close to the center of the fight and we then saw it.
It was a creature that far surpassed anything that I ever imagined.
It had two long wings more than three meters long each and they were rising to the sky.
They and every part of his body was pale colored like ashes. His hair was like a blazing flame and he had six hands.
He had two swords in one of his hands and the other four held some sort of swords made of light.
One of the swords however I recognize…the devourer.
“Asura!” said Greetman who had beaten me to the conclusion.
So Asura became like this…seeing him alive and kicking is hard to intake…
Asura moved a step forward and the ground beneath him crumbled from either weight or pressure.

Small pebbles rose to the sky and the air felt electrified.
A holy glow of aura and power washed over him as he walked confidently towards the man holding a black sword that did not reflect light at all.
That blade looked dangerous and made me feel repulsion by just looking at it. I don’t even want to be touched by something that looked so eerie and dangerous.
The overlord placed his hand forward summoning another tornado of death magic that was based off a Mahojin that was created from his palm.
The tornado engulfed Asura but was instantly dissipated with a swat of a single one of his blades.
“Is that the extent of your power oh great overlord?” said asura in a voice that made me want to hide under a rock.
His voice was oppressing and filled with mana, strong and loud that everyone in the battlefield had heard it.
Seemingly pissed off the one that is in front of Asura, as in the Overlord roared making a black flame engulf him whole.
“Art of the aspects! Morfii Shi!” said the Overlord and with that word he changed into something that made me want to hurl.
The bones of the Overlord began to crack and he grew in size once the black flame faded.
He became three times bigger than asura and had no head.
His torso opened vertically showing something akin to a giant maw riddled with disgusting fangs.
His hands became far too large and his black sword matched the size of them as it grew.
The back of this creature sprouted giant bones that looked like spider legs. About eight of them. And his legs changed to match the size.
He became a creature of horror.
The monster not giving time for Asura to even be surprised by the change suddenly striking down with his blade.
He looked like a blur as it moved with a speed far surpassing his size.
However Asura was not one to be had with such a surprise attack as he was already behind the creature and striking diagonally at his back.
The six blades of Asura, struck in an X like manner but were blocked by the spider leg like bones.
Many of the legs however were cut down and even one of the blades struck at the back of the monster making it screech from pain.
The bones grew back almost instantly and the monster retaliated with another swung of his blade.
Asura dodged only to receive a direct hit from a death ray that originated from the mouth of the creature. The mouth that was his chest at the moment.
I was unable to understand how would this thing manage to pinpoint Asura’s location without vision but it seems that this is but a minor detail as the beast was ravenous.
Many slashes at air came from the beast and with each one of them the sword would send an arc like wave of death that would destroy whatever it met. Be it ground devil or human it would kill anything.
The monster kept on using everything it had switching from magic to sword to sometimes extending the bones on his back to attack asura.
Who just dodged and cut away at any given moment punishing the extension of the Overlord.
“Dragon god Earth shattering smash!”
Roared asura while he instantly appeared under the monster and punching him upwards.
The hit landed and the monster flew dozens of meters in the sky.
Asura soon followed the creature and grabbed it with two hands from the back pressing against the bone like legs that were now taking him and he was defending from them by his four hands that swatted any attempt.

The two ascended to the sky with asura flying both of them with his wings.
Moment later the descended twirling like a top with an amazing speed.
Asura was spinning both of them and right before the impact he managed to drop the creature powerfully that he pierced the ground caving an enormous portion of it. More than one hundred meter radius hole was created from the impact. Many of the fighters even fell from the might of that attack and devil alike, while Asura flew away at the last second.
Not wanting to wait, Asura then used all of his hands aiming at where the monster was.
His body looked enflamed and bloodied as those bones had managed to pierce him from several places yet he was not caring.
His six hands created a golden Mahojin in front of him that was more than ten meter radius.
The inscription on it were too numerous. Too detailed and too complex to be understood.
This was far stronger than anything I had ever seen in my life. This is probably a triple S class spell…
“EVERYONE!! TAKE COVER!!!” I roared infusing my voice with mana hoping that whomever was smart enough to run away from that attack would do so.
“DRAGON GOD’S DECREE!”
With that spell and those words I knew this was not going to be something that any of us would survive.
Massive amounts of mana was being gathered and was being infused into the Mahojin. My body began to weaken as I felt that the Mahojin was absorbing mana not only from the outside world even from everything and anything alive that was close to it.
A small fire ball like bolt was created and shot towards the now rising overlord.
He too created a Mahojin that was comparable to the one Asura made. From it a black smoke was shot.
However the overlord was clearly exerting himself as he became thinner and thinner the more of the smoke he used.
He was probably using his life to power that spell…
The two spells collided and the small fireball object was engulfed.
However it still pierced through the smoke making it bend and be absorbed in it until it finally reached the overlord who could not push it back.
Once it reached him.
The world turned silent and my vision turned black and white.
The ball of fire grew tremendously and engulfed with it the Overlord.
It soon imploded and a pillar of light and flame rose to the sky.
It rose so height that we could not see its extent while the spell itself was silent.
A few more moments that felt like ages and the pillar finally receded. Leaving a giant crater that seemed bottomless.
However Asura was probably not over as he flew directly into the giant hole like a meteorite.
Once he was deep inside we heard him shout another spell
“Dragon god’s fire breath!”
Another pillar this time looked more savage than the silent one and much more deafening erupted making the hole looked like if hell itself opened as purple and white flames erupted from the one hundred meter radius chasm.
I guess Asura don’t like doing things halfway…this was clearly an overkill but it seems that an Overlord is not to be underestimated. If you want something dead…you need to kill it for good.
Once the flame went off. Asura flew out of the hole holding something in one of his hands.
It was the head of the overlord in its first form…
“Today your Overlord had fallen. And you shall too follow suit!” said Asura in a commanding tone.
With that…the whole battlefield turned to a chaotic massacre.
Most of the devils and demons tried to escape only to be killed while running away.
The rest that decided to fight were met the same fate once Asura joined the fight.
He began ripping them apart like if they were mere insect. It took a few hours until the battle finally settled.
But once that was done…I looked upon the battlefield that was littered with death.
Was it the right thing to do? They invaded us, so we had all right to fight them off…but what makes us different if we show no mercy to those that had surrendered? We killed everyone and everything that was here…would it be hypocrisy of me if I say that I somewhat felt sorry for them? Probably. But who am I to say such things…we won and what is done is done. Why worry about these things.
A roar was heard far in the distance, a roar of that dragon as I still remember it.
Asura soon flew back to where we were and descended down between all four of us.
His wings were littered with blood and gore while his blades were stained with it.
Every one of his hands held a bloodied sword and even one of them had that eerie looking black sword that belonged to the overlord.
“Asura…is that you?” said Greetman
Asura looked at him…and said
“It is I, master…”
Greetman snorted saying.
“I am no longer worthy of such a title…I have caused great pain to you…and was the reason for all the hardship that you went through…I should have been there when all of this happened…I should not even have let you go to Alsa…”
“No, master. If you did not…we probably would not still be standing today...”
“Please stop with the Master thing…how can I be your master when you far surpassed me in strength and power.” Said Greetman at tear point
“You will always be Master. It was never about strength…”
Replied asura.
The glow around him began to dim out and he soon changed to his normal form.
Once he did so the black blade and the head of the Overlord dropped as they were grabbed by secondary hands
The boy looked tiered beyond tiredness. It seems this was the aftereffect of the transformation…
He soon pulled out something from a ring he had on his left hand.
It was a red vial…I know of those…they are gifts for reaching a checkpoint at the crucible…you can buy a kingdom with one of those…ah how long did king Elior search for one of those to give to his dead wife…he would have gladly traded his kingdom for it…
Once asura drank the thing life was brought back to him. He then said
“I feel like an idiot for forgetting I still had this with me…”
A statement I didn’t understand its complication that time.
“What are you going to do now Asura?” said Ousay
“You are still alive Ousay-san…well I still have a task to do…there is a purge that I will need to conduct so you may go your way. I and the fortress are more than enough to finish my task. We will meet back at Alsa once I finish. It shouldn’t take long”
“I will come with you!” said Greetman, I too was feeling the same…although mostly because I wanted to take a look at the fortress.
“You will do no such thing Master. This is something only I need to do. You don’t have to bloody your hands anymore. This is a task for me and my benefit only. So please go on your way. We will meet later.”
Said asura and without waiting a reply he sprouted two draconic white wings from his back and flew away toward the flying fortress.
…he didn’t even speak to me…it is going to be really hard to get his permission to board that fortress now…sigh.
