CHATPER 7
(Osfor POV)
The fight between our forces and the demonic portion that was separated from the invading force that headed toward Alsa was now over
“What to do now Greetman?” I said
Greetman then ripped his sword out of a corps of a fallen devil and said
“We will need to follow the portion that is already headed toward Alsa…If they get too far they will reach the first cities within our own borders…Alikh has fallen we cannot let the same thing happen back at Alsa”
Takeda then added
“I never thought that it would fall that fast…this is all because of those damn idiots using those modified soldiers…”
Honestly I have never seen Takeda this pissed…
“True and now that the information that we received had mentioned that the army that brought down Alikh to its knees is now going toward Alsa, gives us more reason to pick up our pace…” said Midorikawa who was huffing a bit from overexertion…
“We need to get things done and fast, it is good that we managed to take out this portion without grave causalities…but I don’t think that this is enough to defeat both the army that already went toward Alsa, and the one that defeated Alikh. We need to move right now.” said Greetman
But looking at the state we are in right now I cannot help to think of it as an impossible feat.
“The soldiers are exhausted Greetman. We don’t have your stamina, we will need rest” I said
“You think the damn invaders will wait until our army rests? We need to go there and fast” angrily said Greetman
“You seem to be forgetting something” replied Takeda “a big portion of this interception force is composed of Alikhian soldiers…soldiers who by now lost their capital and probably most of them had lost their families and friends…you think that they will just follow us and risk their lives for our country?”
“Why shouldn’t they?” roared Greetman “We did the same didn’t we? We came all the way here to save them! To help them.”
“No we didn’t” I said “We came here to prevent the enemies from getting to our borders…and they all know it…if they don’t wish to come with us then we cannot force them. We can only show them that they can still have a life back at Alsa…that is if we survive first.”
The Messenger from the Alikhian army then came. Signs of dried tears were still on his face when he said
“Another city had fallen to the demonic army…they are about three hundred kilometers east of here…the commander will be giving you the control over all the soldiers here…there is no point taking them back to Alikh…that kingdom had fallen…”
“This makes things simpler” said Greetman. “Let’s move…”
When is he going to understand that they are exhausted…it will be really hard just to catch the ones that had slipped by us before…

However considering our exhaustion, and being forced to fight again…if we are not able to defeat the ones that are already near Alsa…we will be surrounded from both sides if the demonic army manages to get behind us…we will be needing a miracle for this…

(Asura POV)
Oh shit! And this is just but a thousand of these things…I can’t believe how strong these things are.
“You saw nothing Asura. They are much stronger than this. They have been dormant for ages. Once the flying city is back at full power they will become unstoppable. Although I have more than ten thousand of them back at my flying fortress, a hundred of them in their full power can raze a kingdom to the ground in one night.” proudly claimed Ashura inside my head.
I was now in dragon form flying directly toward an iced patch of earth.
I flew above a portion of the gores that were attacking a small crowd of humans that were barely able to hold their ranks. Near them was…Nassi’s grandfather…and some other old looking guy.
As for how I noticed them their mana output was enormous. They were feeding a couple of summons that were rampaging through the battlefield but it seems that they were losing ground due to numerical disadvantage.
Before I got to where the ice patch was I decided to give a helping hand. Or breathe to be more exact.
“Dragon fire breath!”
I shot a mass of purple flames that was enough to scorch the ground to crisp while destroying a huge portion of the gores from above.
The flames were so strong that whenever one of these things would catch fire it would melt and be destroyed almost instantly while any that was close to it will suffer the same fate.
I feared for collateral damage at first but seeing that the damage was still contained after a moment I hastily continued forward to where the strongest one was present.
With that small help the soldiers and Ryouka Gaz and his summon began to push back the Gores that remained. They were still outnumbered but at least they were no longer overwhelmed.
Once I descended I noticed many gazes on me.
This must be the fact that I have wings and scales and don’t really look like a human…
I pressed my hand forward and shot
“Void ray of disintegration!”
The scales on my hand are preventing me from harm, due to the potency and leech back from this spell.
And with the mana within me and the now full support of the devil’s own mana…I can now use this spell without feeling the slightest discomfort.
I still remember the first time I used Osfor-sensei’s spell…I lost consciousness for a week…and now I am casting something that is much more powerful without batting an eye…I came a long way and I am not planning to stop anytime soon.

A dark purple light of concentrated magic and energy exploded from a Mahojin that appeared in front of my hand and shot forward like a canon, obliterating anything and everything within its wake while disintegrating whatever was unlucky enough to just be near the ray.
The attack even destroyed some of the machines that belonged to Ashura but he assured me that they will be fine…I can’t think how it would be possible to comeback from being vaporized but whatever.
The ray managed to clear an enormous path inside the gores while lowering their numbers considerably.
A moment later a shower of different elements of magic was shot toward the gores that were still stunned from the damage caused by my attack.
This hail of magic was coming from the forces that just managed to leave the flying fortress. They were the forces of Astora.
The scale of the battle turned drastically with the presence of this fortress and the might it brought with it.
I then noticed two of the humanoids carrying a girl I knew…
I willed them to come toward me and this they did instantly.
I could feel every single one of them anywhere and everywhere. At first it was overwhelming due to the various points of view, but now it is as simple as blinking.
Once they came they gently placed the girl down.
I dropped on my knees and noticed that her pulse is weakening by the moment.
“Death magic runs through her system…her Aura is fighting it off but she will die like this.” Said the devil within me
“Can you do something?” I said
“Yes. I believe I can, place your hand on her.”
Once he said so I took notice of her still jiggling mounds and an indecent thought passed me by but I shrugged it off immediately…we are not here for fun.
Once I did place my hands on her, ches—ahm…where her heart was, death magic that was inside her began to stir and move toward my palm.
Her pale looking face turned back to its former natural color.
“Watch out!” said a womanly voice and in that instant time slowed down
The veiled man that was exuding those enormous amounts of dark energy was now right on top of me swinging down his scythe trying to rip my body in two.
He is fast…however I am faster.
While the time slowing effect was still on it felt to me that the entire world was frozen. But due to my newfound strength and being in the dragon aspect this was normal.
Although everything was slow…I was not…this is probably because the eye is now healed…if this was the case back when I fought that damn dummy I would have ended that match much faster.
I stood up and placed my right hand on this man’s face. And instantly downed it while burying his head in the ground.
Not waiting another second I grabbed my devourer and shoved it down his skull. cracking the earth under from the strenght of the attack.
The time effect ended and for many this must have happened in but a single moment but to me it felt more.
I turned back to see the girl almost regaining her consciousness while fumbling some unknown words.
I got my sword back first as I violently ripped it from the lifeless body of the Devil lord then, I grabbed the girl in a princess carry and began to walk toward the few people I know.
The first to meet me was Yuna…but it seems that the expressions of her face are mixed…probably embarrassment and guilt. Mostly shame but I don’t care. At least not at this moment.
Placing the unconscious girl in the hands of a man from the lightning clan. Who looked to be wearing the same type of cloth that Yuna did but only the color differed…even Ryouka was wearing the same looking Yukata…
The man took the girl and bowed slightly
I turned and began to walk forward…I have some gores to kill don’t I.
“A-Arvion-san!” said Yuna
Hmm…smart girl. This means that she didn’t divulge my identity…I think.
“What is it?” I said
“It’s…it’s nothing…” said the girl
“…” I then continued walking
I don’t know what she wants from me at this moment and I need to sort out my own feelings before I could speak with her…that time when she jumped me made me feel lost…I have no idea how to handle a girl and probably don’t need to do so at the moment.
While still in a pensive state I failed to notice that the man that I had pierced his head with my sword was back up…I don’t even know how I was even able to say this and believe it to be true…
The man’s hood was down and only a deformed and cracked human skull was what he had for a head.
“We, servants of the Everlasting silence cannot be killed.”
Everlasting silence?
“Oh that Thathanos guy.” I said
“DON’T SPEAK HIS NAME!” roared Ashura within me almost trying to kill me for having spoken.
Now that I remember…even Drakhsis had said not to say his name…
And in one moment the whole world turned dark. The weather turned cold as if death itself was hovering around every being in this battlefield.
Men began to drop unconscious like flies while the gores stood unmoving. The summons disappeared and the grace began to wither at a fast pace.
“What have you done!” said the skeleton zombie looking like devil lord…
…
Right after he said the words
An eerie and sordid voice spoke throughout the fields.
“Who called?”…

Meek
After failing as an apprentice cooper and a town guard, Eli finds his place at the Rockbridge archives. Sure, he's the oldest 'junior scribe,' but he likes the job. And he's good at it, too. Then he completes an apparently-insignificant project, and the brutal reaction shocks him--with consequences that eventually shake the world. Eli gains powers. Rare and inhuman abilities. He progresses slowly, steadily, and not without setbacks. He changes, too. Is he a hero, a villain, a human, a monster? Depends who you ask. Meek is an epic fantasy with elements of progression. The basic magic is simple: five Paths, each with a different powerset. However, complexity arises from combinations, and the protagonist wields a magic all his own. Meek is set in the Valley, the only (as far as anyone knows) human empire that survived a Final Battle against a terrible foe. The Valley is warded against infiltration, but the enemy learned how to warp human souls, to foment discord within. However, another soul is also ... changed. Perhaps even 'warped.' And that soul is starting on a long (long, long) path that might, one day, prove that the Final Battle wasn't so final after all.
