CHAPTER 2
Once again the alarm bells sounded throughout the continent. Every kingdom knew. The invaders had come. Only this time it was an all or nothing.
Rallying the troops of every kingdom the armies began to march. In time of strife and need for aid all differences are to be abolished.
Alikh was the first kingdom to rally its troop as it was the first that the enemy had breached through.
The wall was brought down in matters of moments and those that were there were slaughtered without a chance to fight back.
The army was forcing its way through the lands unperturbed and unblemished by any that managed to try and stand in their way. It kept it self, organized and right after tearing through what was thought to be an impenetrable fortress protected by the mountains at its side the army began to divide itself.
It was divided into four sections. Two of them were enormously huge containing more than two thirds of the entire army. One of the smaller portions was led by a man with an enormous scythe that was on top of a corrupted wyvern. His army was comprised mostly of corrupted beings and gores. This one was going south east…to Astarte.
The second smaller portion was led by a young boy on top of a dark nightmare horse. The boy was exuding terrifying aura that made anyone understand that he was the leader. This one was headed south…to Astora.
The last two portions decided to break the formation while one went to the north where Alsa was situated at this portion was the one where the hulking beast that was able to invade last year.
The last portion was the one that decided to remain at Alikh both securing the way to the exit and as a rally point to all sections of army.
The demonic army was more than a million man strong…far more than any country could produce…
Humans lived their life in luxury. Rare were the ones that decided to take up arms…but the demons only knew of the sword and magic since the day they were brought to these lands…they fought trained and bled, day and night…remembering that once man fall…they will be set free.

Back at Alsa and within the council’s meeting hall stood several people most of them were of the highest executive committee of the country. Related to military and politics.
The leader of all the current four great clans were present there and also the council members.
“We will need to supply more troops to defend the breach point…at this rate the kingdom of Alikh will fall in no time.” Said Yuna who was at this moment one of the leaders present here and with her current achievement her words are to be considered.
“We know young Clan leader…we know. But we need to protect our people first. If we rally more than what we had just sent we will lose the strength to defend ourselves.” Said one of the council members who as an old man with white hair wearing silver clothing with the emblem of Alsa.
“We had sent all the members we could afford from our clan…the rest is only the minimum to protect our people…if they were to know that we have but a few thousand warriors to defend our boarders then panic will be sure to induce…” said the leader of the lightning clan.
“Sigh…I had done the same…the capital of Alsa had given more than it could possibly handover to the punitive force that went to subdue the invaders…we need more support from the noble houses outside the capital…without them…we can’t do anything alone.” Said Ryouka Gaz. That was looking to be very tired

Another of the council members this time spoke.
“Without the Eye…we cannot close down the gate…We should have stopped that man who stole it. although it belonged to our kingdom first…it was still put to good use by the king of the Alikhian army…now not only did we lose it…the one who took it is unknown…” and while he said so the man turned to look at Yuna who was the only conscious witness of what had happened that day.
The meaning behind the councilman’s words were heavy as he was accusing her of hiding information due to her not revealing the presumably unknown identity of the thief.
“I do not know the man…I was lucky to have managed to withstand his pressure so don’t push this any further. Even more, that thing is useless anyway. They broke the gate once. And now the second time while tearing down multiple sections of the wall. Even if we somehow do manage to locate the ‘thief’ we will need to push back the invaders, or kill them before we can repair the gate…and that would take more time considering the severity of the breach, and what is to say that they won’t break it another time? We need to defend ourselves and not rely on a wall that was probably meant to imprison us and not to protect us.”
“You became wiser young girl.” Said Ryouka Gaz. “It is true. We should stop relying on a wall that breaks every now and then…we will need to do all we can to push the enemy back or even more so. To kill them all. We need more man power.”
The same council member then said
“If it is man power…we can manage that…we already made arrangements so that the army is provided more support from a certain association”
To this statement everyone looked in shock to the council.
“You don’t mean the Organization?” said Yuna who was doubting the words. These council members can sometimes be rigid but she never thought them to be stupid.
“Yes. The organization had come to us with an offer we were willing to take. They will provide thousands of super soldiers that will help us in the upcoming war.”
“Preposterous!” said Yuna. “Why rely on them?! Did you forget what they attempted to do back at Albion! Did you forget how they treated their so called test subjects! These guys are murderers! Killers, and mutilators! They only seek wealth and nothing else this is stupid!”
“Watch your mouth young girl. Although you are a clan head you still don’t have enough backing if we are to turn against you. Moreover we have no choice but to take the devil’s deal this time…our very own existence is threatened. Using their power is the only thing we can rely on…” said the council member.
Yuna was boiling with rage as the council that was supposed to protect the kingdom had chosen to get help from the ones that are seeking its very own destruction if it was for their benefit.
Ryouka Gaz then said
“We need to know the exact number of the enemy. And how are we to engage if they were to change tactic.”
The leader of the earth golem clan then spoke.
He was a middle aged man with tanned skin he looked like a barbarian with the way he dressed himself as his Yukata was showing most of his chest. The man had thick black hair that stood like spikes on his head. While he had a bushy beard that made him look like an uncivilized person. Despite the looks everyone knew that the man had well deserved his position

“The information that we had received had given intel about the estimated number of soldiers and mages that went to partake In the war…from Alsa we sent about eighty thousands mages, arch mages and supreme mages…as for Astarte about one hundred and twenty thousand warrior, and swords masters and sword mages. From Astora about two hundred thousand of mages, arch mages and warriors alike…and finally Alikh that is currently the heart of the battlefield had engaged the entirety of her troops…almost three hundred thousand soldiers and mages….” Said the man
“About seven hundred thousand in total then… although our forces may seem low numbered but most of them graduates of Albion, and they are surly strong enough to be compared to an army double their number from any other country…thank you for the information Kurogane Hanzo-sama” said Ryouka Gaz “So how many of the enemy troops had your intel manage to perceive?”
After a moment of silence the man known as Kurogane Hanzo spoke with a voice this time filled with distress
“Once we had sent our primary assistance troops we found out that the number of enemies had exceeded one million…without counting the gores that followed so that number could be doubled”
To his words a deathly silence enveloped the hall…how would they even be able to face these numbers?
The future looked grim and the chances of surviving this ordeal are very low…an army of demons and gores is not only deadly its most devastating feature is the contamination and the blight…
None decided to speak as they all knew…this war might probably if not certainly be their last.
***
“So much power…” I said to no one in particular.
My skin was now as red as blood, with sharp nails on the tip of my fingers and giant thorn like bones sprouting from my elbows. I had two large leather wings on my back although smaller than the ones in the dragon form they still looked strong enough to carry me in flight. I grew a tail…a very slim whip looking like tail. And two horns erupted this time from my forehead and sprouted upwards.
I began to feel magic circulating throughout my entire body as it pulsated with life and
“This is the power of a devil huh…it is almost comparable to the dragon aspect…although this body is not as resilient or as strong…the magic I can feel within this body is…immense”
Right before I reverted back to my earlier form I felt an enormous surge of magic coming north of where I stood. An within a second I understood…death magic was being used…not here not anywhere close to here but in a very far away land…the power behind this magic is immeasurable…only one thing I could think of that could exude such terrifying magic…its either Drakhsis…or something that is close enough to his power level…and considering it is death magic…Only that being could probably do it.
I tried to use warp to go and check out the situation but instantly was stopped by a voice.
“DON’T!” said the devil within.
“Why?” I said
“I can feel him too…if you go now…you will die. He is not alone but with an army of devils. And even you with your power cannot defeat him…”
“What do you mean…I don’t know about the dragon aspect but I think in that old man’s body I used the god aspect and was able to fight off four devil lords at once…I think I can get in kill him and get out.” I said
“No.” replied the devil. “The overlord is stronger than all the devil lords combined…if not, they would have rebelled a long time ago…and even in that form…you are still far from enough to take him down…”
“Then what? Should I just let that army go through everything in these lands? Should I just watch? Never! I promised ‘him’ that I will be the one to take them all down. I never thought that my chance will come this soon but this is all I have to do. Even if I have to get ‘him’ himself out of that damn place I will stop them!”
“Are you talking about that dragon that you somehow summoned inside my world? Although a dragon can be very powerful and would probably be more than enough to defeat the Overlord I don’t think it would still be enough to get out unscathed from that place, after all the Overlord will not be alone, and fighting him and his devil lords and his army is a bit too hard even for a dragon.” Said the devil
“No not a normal dragon…a primordial dragon.”
“Hmm…this could change things greatly then…but how are you going to do it?”
“Simple…I will call him out. I will call him to this place…but I still need more time…the eye has yet to heal correctly…damn it if only I had more time I could have called upon him and we would have wrecked them to pieces…” I said
“Now what are we going to do?” said the devil
“…it seems that the whole country is moving about…I can…sense it. Let’s go and take a look, shall we?”
“I wouldn’t recommend that you go out looking like that…” said the devil
“Hmm…true with all the hustle I might be mistaken for a real devil huh.” I said “Morfii Hshto!”
And with those words I turned back to my normal physique.
I began by leaving the facility. It looked like a normal building from outside but considering the material and sophisticated set of wares and items within one would wonder who the owner of such a facility was…I won’t however, as I already know that it was the Organization’s facility from the start.
Taking a good feel to my surrounding I noticed that most people were heading toward the northern part of where I was inside this random city…I teleported here but I don’t know where ‘here’ is.
A moment later a man with red hair was walking near me.
He was tall walked confidently. Wearing an almost ceremonial set of armor and clothing while firmly holding his sword in its sheath.
I spoke to him saying
“Could you please tell me what is going on? Sir.” I said
The man looked at me and was startled for a bit… I mean I can’t blame him seeing a man with a mask over their face will probably look out of place.
“Euh…there is an invasion going on. If you are a civilian you will need to stay inside your house if you can assist the army however you will be handsomely thanked later on. So what are you?” asked the man.
Hmm it seems that what I felt earlier is true…did the wall break down?
“I am just a passing by.” I said
The red haired man looked annoyed by the statement I said and then said
“Any way if should you decide to help, we you could go to the northern gate of the capital where there is a recruitment center. It seems that a portion of the invading army has split and now heading toward Astora…” said the man and continued on with his direction.
“I think you should head back to your country…you can’t do anything alone right now…let them handle the army of the overlord he said so himself it might not be the largest portion of it...” said the devil
I then replied
“Well it might be so…but that does not mean it is weak…we should probably go and meet them…just to test the waters and get a good feel for things.” And as I said the words…I began walking north of the city…we have a demonic army to welcome after all.

This story is a neo-noir dark LITRPG in a world similar to earth. Take the tags seriously. I've been working on this project for 6 months and my MC is a bit unconventional, so I'm excited to introduce you all to him. Beware, it will be a slow-burn, so please be patient. The main plot will start to kick up at around chapter 15. I will be writing about racists, rapists, cultists and horrible humans. I do not condone or excuse their behavior or choice of words but the first arc will be in a prison and (some) prisoners don't mince their words. My MC doesn't adapt to the new world immediately because that is not realistic at all. It takes time and because of his personality, it will take more than a system to convince him to do someone else's bidding ;) Each chapter will have around 3000+ (give or take) words. I will be updating 2-3 times a week (depending on how busy I am with work and/or college) when I'm done publishing my backlog (Which is very big, 40,000+ words). **Each comment gets rep! Cover art by @tahraart on Instagram. Link to discord: https://youtu.be/91wX0NRjJqg Have a good one, Pistol. **** THE STORY IS ON TEMPORARY HIATUS. WE WILL BE BACK IN 2 MONTHS. SORRY EVERYONE.

Ancient Mana Dungeon Core.
Yes the tags are necessary, they will make sense eventually too. Art is not mine, found it on pintrest btw the title on the thing apparently has no name, or at least no title that you can search, at least, but i found this: ‘ArtStation - [UE4] Lost Temple Ruins Jonas Axelsson’ (if your curious I was searching ancient temple game art when i found it don’t bother clicking the link on the thing that says facebook, it does not work) (i will not lie this is kinda my first publication so go easy on me). A while ago I fell in love with the Dungeon Core stories and decided: ‘Heck, why not make my own spin on things!’ and so i started brainstorming what to do and i kinda just found the idea for the story during it. This is the story of a guy named Michael Alex (not a typo that is the name I will be using for him) he was an avid fiction writer and reader who was just sitting on his couch playing a puzzle game on his phone called: Ruins of Drailmor Keep (a three in one deal: tower defence, Puzzle (mazes generally), and world building (namely building on the ashes of fallen empires and regulating certain things while the waves of enemies keeps coming back to burn it down and ruin it just like the curse would while ocasionally sending out your own monsters to get rare rescources)) when he gets an alert and well one thing leads to another and he died to a freak avalanche. He then comes into contact with the universe's will (basically something that *insert your prefered deity here* cooperated with to make the world (heaven, hell, the mortal world, yggdrasil, basically every "world" that has been made (in reality, mythology, games, books, cartoons/movies, and memes!) but also had a mind of its own at the same talk.) and Michael and the Universe’s Will talked and this story is about the outcome of said discussion.

Swords and Roses
Rose was pretty sure the only thing out of the ordinary about her best friend, Kaz, is that he has an uncanny ability to annoy her. She was wrong. Actually, she was wrong about a lot of things. As it turns out, Kaz is not bad with a sword. In fact, "not bad" is probably an understatement. Apparently, there is a whole second world out there, one run by wielders of the blade. Will Rose be able to survive? Maybe, just maybe, she will find out that she is even stronger than she imagined. Or maybe she'll die. That could happen too. Arguably more likely. With that wonderful thought, let the sword fighting begin!
