Hi y'all, happy new year, I got enough of a connection to upload this chapter. it is longer than my normal length.
well without further ado chapter 14
--------------------Therin –POV-------------------
“What else do we need to get?” I asked Atheros, my pack heavy with supplies.
“We got provisions for us, now we just need mana crystals for the dragon.” Atheros replied.
It has been almost a week since we left the capital. We have made our way north until we arrived at the city of Stad.
“Why do we need to get so many supplies?” I asked, “The first of the elfin villages is only a three day walk.”
“It is better to be prepared then to risk running out.” Atheros stated.
“I think we have about two weeks worth of supplies.” I responded, thinking of all the things we had bought.
“When I first joined the scouting force I had the same mentality as you had.” Atheros started to remains, “We got stuck in the mountains east of the bay of daric.”
It was at this point that I is started to ignore Atheros.
“Where is this magic shop?” I asked interrupting Atheros.
“Down the street and to the left is what the butcher said right before we left.” he replied.
“Let’s hurry who knows what trouble that dragon can get into.” Therin said heading towards the magic shop.
-----------Fafnir--POV---------
“What is taking them so long?” I think to myself as I basked in the sun.
A rustling sound interrupted my nap. I opened one of my large eyes and I watched a pair of small boys jump from the bushes.
“Ahhh. A dragon,” Shrieked one of the boys, as he ran back into the forest.
“Hello,” I called out to the boy. An acrid scent filled the air as the boy fell to the ground.
“Well…” I said looking at the prone figure of the child. I smiled a bit as the boy reminded me off my own brother before I was taken to this world. Feeling sympathy for the boy I carefully wrapped my strong tail around him and placed him next to me. “I will let him sleep for a bit.” I thought to myself as I closed my eyes enjoying the warmth of the sun.
A few hours passed and I heard the boy stir. “I wasn’t eaten.” I heard the boy say.

“I can fix that if you wish?” I said to the boy chuckling a bit.
“You can talk?”” the boy exclaimed with awe.
“Why would not be able to talk?” I replied humoring the boy.
“My dad said that dragons can’t talk, and they are mean, and I should run away if I see one.” The boy said all in one breathe.
“Well, how about I take you back to your dad,” I said to the boy as I stood up,” you have been asleep for a few hours.”
The boy led us through the forest until we arrived at the edge of a field.
“My house is over there,” pointing to a house on the other side of the hill, “Mr. Dragon, why don’t you come and meet my daddy.”
“I don’t think thank that is a good idea.” I said to the boy, thinking about the typical reactions when seeing a dragon.
“Well then I will be right back, Wait here.” The boy said as he ran across the field. I watched him run into the house and walked back to the clearing to continue my nap.
Several hours passed and there was still no sign of Atheros and Therin. The sun was getting low in the sky and the trees covered me in shade. I got up and stretched and started to move towards the city. As I got close to the city I cast the shrinking spell and I flew towards the city wall. Coming upon the high black stone walls of the city I flew over them and started to look for Therin. As I got towards the center of the city I could pick out the earthy sweet smell of Therin’s mana. I started home in on Therin’s scent and it led me to a large stone building. Watching the building for a little while from the roof of a nearby building, I watched several armed guards walk into and out of the build.
“That must be the city garrison,” I thought to myself, “why would they be there?”
Watching the place for about half an hour there was no sign of Therin coming out of the building, I decided that I was going to retrieve my servant. I jumped from my perch on the roof while releasing the spell expanding to my full size. Standing in front of the garrison I use my fore claw to push open the doors.

“Dragon in the garrison!” a guard shouted. I could hear people scrambled in the next room.
The guard pulled out his sword and swung out his shield.
“if you wish to continue to use your sword I would suggest you put it away.” I said menacingly
The guard ignoring my threat charged at me as other guards started to stream into the hallway.
I took in a deep breath I shaped my lips to let my draconic breath come out in a small stream. The guard ran head long into the blue-white stream coating his sword in pure mana. He dropped his sword as it dissolve into a blueish white liquid.
“Stop!” I commanded, mana leaked into my voice and made it many times louder than I intended.
All the guards froze staring at me.
"I am looking for my servant.” I stated. “I know he is in this building.”
“Captain, is that dragon talking?” one of the guards asked dumbfounded.
“I think so Zes” another man responded.
“The dragon has a name you know.” I said irritated. “Now go retrieve my servant or I will destroy this building and the surround area.”
“Who is your servant?” one of the guards asked.
“A male dark elf, named Therin” I replied to the guard.
“Ah, the elf that made a fool of a noble.” One of the guards said.
“Sounds like something he would so.” I replied with a sigh.
“I am sorry dragon, but we cannot until we have cut out his tongue for his disrespect.” the guard replied.
“If you damage my property there will be nothing left of this city.” I said I a low voice.
“Ha!” one of the guards laughed, “A mere dragon destroying the city.”
“You have five minutes to retrieve my servant before I destroy this place.” I said barely keeping my anger in check.
“Since you can talk we ask you to wait until we have cut his tongue out.” The guard said.
“Four minutes.”” I replied counting down.
“What are you going to do dragon.” Another guard asked with his sword drawn.
“After I retrieve my servant, I will unleash enough raw mana into this building that it will dissolve into a sweet delicious soup.” I banally replied.
“Two minutes.” I stated with the guards still pointing their swords at me.
“Time is up.” I stated, “Where is my propriety?”
“It will be an hour before we can get the doctor to remove his tongue.” The guard stated looking behind him sword still at the ready. “We will even forgive you about the destroyed sword.
“Well then you all die for impeding my plans.” I drew in a large breath as I prepared to use my draconic breath. Right before I let out the cloud of death, a man shouted.
“Hold dragon, the doctor is here and he will be performing the removal shortly.”
My anger flared at the man, the magic left me and the man dissolved into dust. with rage clouding my thoughts I let out my draconic breath and the blue-white cloud filled the room with mana. In seconds all the guards had dissolved, I drew up the liquid its sweet taste flooding my mouth. I made my way through the garrison to the dungeon below. Lightning bolts flashed through the cloud of mana that surrounded me in my anger.I found Therin strapped to a table with a man standing over him preparing several knives. With a though the man was dust. I destroyed the bonds around Therin’s hands and feet.
“Leave the city and head north,” I instructed to the elf as he got off the table, “there is a house on the edge forest on top of a hill about an hour’s walk from here. There is a boy around the age of 6, say to the family of that kid, ‘that the kind dragon directed him there and told me to wait.’ I will retrieve you from there. Also where is Atheros?”
“Atheros and I got separated in the marketplace though we agreed to meet at the north gate before sundown.” Therin said with fear in his voice.
“Go, I have to deal with these worms that dare confuse me with Wyverns.”

Hey guys, thank you for checking out my work. I've read so many novels on this site and it inspired me to write my own story. I've been studying English for about 2 years now and thought this would be a good opportunity to increase my writing skill at the same time. I am currently studying my degree at a University so I'll continue to edit and write more chapter whenever it's convenient for me to do so (which is like, all the times haha). My first work can turn out to be a bit crude, but I hope you guys will be patient and allow little small slime to grow. Thanks!!!
