-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Wake up stupid dragon,” I heard shouted at me while half asleep.
“What?!” I reply, mad at the people who rudely woke me up.
“We know you murdered Ryk, you dumb beast” shouted another.
I opened my eyes to see about 10 men all outfitted for battle. They all had long spears and heavy armor, and they were pointing them at me. I guessed that is the slandered attire of you would use if you were hunting wyvern.
“I did not murder him” I replied, unconcerned with the spears pointed at me, “and if you do not remove those spears you will not be able to when I am finished.”
“We know he came in here and no one has seen him since.” Another guard shouted,
“What you do with him you scaly beast?” another shouted.
I looked over to see that Therin was standing in the shadows with his hand on his sword, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
“Leave now; I would be a poor guest if I disposed of my hosts staff.” I commanded, barely keeping in my anger.
“He is only three weeks old, we can take him!” another guard shouted.
That is all it took to send me over the edge. I drew in a deep breath, concentrating on the point in the back of my throat; I unleashed my draconic breath. The guards did not even have time to scream as the blue-white cloud enveloped them causing them to be over saturated with mana. As more and more mana was absorbed they started to decompose into a blue white liquid. I took a deep breath in concentrating on drawing mana, causing the liquid to flow into my mouth. As the liquid hit my tongue a sweet taste flooded my mouth as I devoured their remains.

“Holy crap!” Therin shouted, “what in the dark god’s name was that?!”
“My draconic breath” I replied starting to feel sleepy due to the full stomach.
“What in the dark gods’ domain is a draconic breath? I have never seen a dragon or any other creature do what you just did.” Therin said still surprised.
“That is easy to explain.” I said while laughing a bit, “you have never seen a true dragon. All you have dealt with are the lesser wyverns. All true dragons all have some sort of breath that they can use.”
“Well so much for you being defenseless.” Therin remarked.
“Who ever said I was defenseless,” irate that any would dare underestimate me. I took a deep breath trying to rain in my more draconic side.
“Everyone assumed because of your age…” Therin started to say, I could smell the acrid scent of sweat fill the air as I stared at him.
“Whatever,” I said, interrupting the clearly nervous elf, “though it is dark outside, I want you to retrieve Atheros. After grabbing him I want you to find Cirden and have him join us as well.”
I laid my head back down as I heard the elf run out the door into the darkness. “It is going to be a long night” I thought to myself as I looked at the half liquefied corpses.
------------------------------------------------------POV – Atheros------------
I was awoken by a knocking t my door. I rubbed my eyes as the person on the other side of the door knocked again.
“Enter,” I said sitting up. I looked up to see Therin enter my room.
“What?” I asked the former slave.
“Fafnir was attacked and he slaughtered the 10 guards in under a minute. He also wants to see you.”
“What do you mean?” I asked as I tried to comprehend what the elf had just said to me.
“Fafnir was attacked by a group of guards.” The elf repeated slowly, “and then he killed them all in under a minute.” The elf Paused for second while he seemed to observe my reaction. .

“Who would attack the dragon?” I asked still confused to what happened.
“Some, now dead, guards dressed in full dragon hunting gear.” Therin curtly replied.
“Dang it!” I swore, “Have you awoken Cirden?”
“I was told by Fafnir to get you first and then go get Cirden.” The elf replied, surprised at my response.
“Well give me a second to get my armor on it will be a long night.” I said while I walked to my wardrobe. I grabbed my leather jerkin and my forearm guards and tighten them to get a snug fit. I place the boots and lace them up. .
“Let’s go get Cirden” I said to Therin, who was leaning against the wall cleaning under his nails.
We walked through the twisting hallways of the castle towards the barracks, greeting the various guards along the way. We arrived at Cirden’s room and knocked on the door.
“Come in” I heard through the door. I opened the door to a partially dressed Cirden sitting on the edge of his bed. “What is it that forced you to come visit me in the middle of the night?”
“Great choice of words there…” I replied with a disapproving look on my face. “We have trouble.”
“Doesn’t everyone” I could hear him mutter.
“What is the issue?” he asked stretching slightly.
“Several guards attacked Fafnir and have been killed.” I said.
“Girden must have gone behind my back.” He said to himself shaking his head.
“I am about to go see Fafnir, apparently he wants to see you as well.”
“Let me get dressed and then we shall go see the dragon.” He said while he stood up. he walked to the corner to grab the armor from the stand. Quickly donning his armor we all leave and head towards the dragon’s lair.
I knocked on the door to the old grain silo that served as the liar to Fafnir before we entered. The air smelled sweat, as if someone was making caramel. Looking in the dimly lit room I could see the half melted remains of several people.
“What happened here?” I asked fearing the answer.
“These people dared to attack me,” the dragon replied, “so I killed them all.”
I was stunned at the dragon’s blunt reply.
“You killed them?” I parroted back not able to comprehend what was just said. I could see that Cirden was also shocked at the reply.
“Yes I killed them.” I could hear the annoyance in his voice.
“Also I will be leaving in the morning with Therin,” the dragon declared. “Atheros, you may still join me, but no others.”
“Why tomorrow, I thought that we wouldn't leave for at least another week.” Atheros replied
“In a week there might be no one left in the city, if i keep having to deal with humans who don't know their place..” The dragon replied, I trembled at the thought of him in a rage.
“Cirden, control your troops or there won't be many left.” Fafnir advised.
“I will see what I can do.” Cirden replied with a grim face.
Cerdin and I left the dragon’s lair and looked at each other. “Go tell the king, I will join you shortly,” I said to him as we walked across the pavilion. “I need to pack so I can leave when the dragon does.”

8 145So I'm a cat, what now?
It seems I've reincarnated into a fantasy world as a cat. What now? This is my first publically published story, and I would love feedback in any form as I have no idea how well the quality of my writing holds up. This story will have light litRPG elements, though I won't dig into numbers much, since I don't enjoy fiddling with them. The tone will be generally light, and I willl probably try to throw some comedy in there as well. The beginning will be Slice of Life, and unless I come up with a longer plot that I like it will stay that way.
