Doom Card: There Is No Real You

Who would you be if you didn’t have to meet the expectations of society? Who is the real you, under all the personas you have adopted to fit in? The different people you are to different groups?

Well, it’s nobody. There’s nobody under those personas. It’s masks all the way down. Without your real and imaginary connections to other people, you’re just a meat machine that eats, poops, and tries to bump it’s genitals on things.

A personality is just a set of strategies to deal with other people. If you want to change who you are, you must change who you interact with, or how you treat them. Simple.

But who do you want to change into? Have you ever changed before? Maybe moved to a new school and got a fresh start with completely different people. Who did you try to be to them? Probably somebody cool. How long did that last? I’m guessing not long. Didn’t last long when I tried it.

The next time you start over, try being a friendly doofus. A dude who doesn't try to hide his mistakes, and is mostly nice to people. It’s an easy persona to pull off, and people will like you. What more do you want?
