After an intense session of love making, Miko and Luka left the throne room with smiles on their faces.

The two looked like they were a couple of love birds as they walked.

They left the palace and entered the yard.

“Wow. You really do look like your mother.”

That’s when they heard an unfamiliar voice.

They looked around, and saw someone sitting around the white table near the gardens.

This person was Arsene.

After Nero and the others got the news about the Beast Continent’s destruction, they sent their spies to dig up some info on what happened.

The one who answered them was Gallu’s son and Primus branch elder Kroc, who was on the continent looking for Momo’s mother Sonia.

He had witnessed what had occurred and reported it back to Nero and the others.

He reported the following:

“Chao Tian and an unknown beast fought all across the continent in the most intense battle I’ve ever witnessed. I also died from just trying to watch it.”

When he was asked the result of the battle, he replied-

“Chao came out the victor, but suffered fatal injuries. A group of people suspected to be members of New Era then dragged the Beast away.”

After hearing that, Nero released Arsene.

Not because he was afraid of him or New Era, but because he didn’t wanted to fully confront them until he knew more about them and their members.

To achieve this, he had to let Arsene go.

Nero was surprised to hear that Chao was a part of New Era.

After he was freed, Arsene decided to take the time and handle some old business before he left the kingdom.

“Are you talking about me?”

Luka asked him with cautious attitude.

Arsene nodded.

“You look like Lisa when she was your age. Well, except for your eyes. You look like Zanis in that department.”

He said with a smile.

When her parents were brought up Luka became alert.

“Who are you?”

Miko stood in front of Luka and asked.

“My apologizes.”

Arsene stood up and bowed with a gentleman’s mannerism.

“My name is Arsene Mors. Tyrant, and former member of the Mors Clan.”

“The Cursed King.”

Miko called his nickname.

“Yes, that’s me.”

Miko looked back at Luka.

“You helped my parents all those years ago.”

Said Luka.

“I only intended to help Lisa as a friend of your grandfather. I didn’t really care for Zanis.”

He replied.

He sat back down.

“I was in the vicinity and decided to stop by and check up on you.”

“She’s fine. She’s my woman after all.”

Miko was the one to reply.

He was clearly hostile towards Arsene.

Arsene noticed this and was amused.

“I see. Nero already told you about me.”

Miko shook his head.

“No, Gallu did.”

“I see. Then there’s no need to bother with the small talk.”

He smiled.

“Let’s discuss some things, Miko.”

He tapped the table indicating him to sit.

“Let’s. I had some things I wanted to clarify with you people anyway.”

Miko held Luka’s hand and led her to the table.

They sat side by side, across from Arsene.

“You two seem close.”

“I said she was my woman earlier didn’t I? Us being close is natural.”

Miko replied.

“I see. I guess you’re right.”

“I heard that you’re close to a member of my clan as well.”

Arsene’s smiled dropped from his face when Miko said that.

“Are you implying something?”

He asked.

Miko shook his head.

“Not at all. I was just repeating what I heard.”

He smiled.

“But for her to be in a relationship with an enemy….Hahaha….I’m sure that her life here won’t be a pleasant one.”

“Hahaha.”

Arsene started laughing.

“You’re really like I expected. You didn’t even hesitate to use someone close to me as hostage. A truly ruthless person.”

His gaze then sharpened.

“I should use this opportunity while you’re still weak to kill you.”

Luka stood up and shield Miko when he said that.

Arsene smiled when he saw.

“Don’t worry. I’m not stupid enough to do something like that in enemy territory.”

“You don’t act like you’re in enemy territory though.”

Miko said with a smile.

“Don’t tell me that you think you’re invincible because you’re a part of New Era.”

“No way. I’m just a carefree guy, that’s all.”

Arsene answered.

“Then why is a carefree guy like you in New Era?”

Miko leaned over the table and asked.

“At first it was a whim.”

“Whim?”

Arsene nodded.

“I was approached by a fellow Tyrant, and he told me about a group who were aiming to turn this world on its head. It sounded fun, so I joined it.”

“But after you joined, you realized that you might be over your head?”

Arsene nodded again.

“I never expected for them to be such a terrifying existence. I honestly wanted to run for the hills when I found out such an organization existed.”

“But you didn’t. Instead you’re out here recruiting members for them. Why?”

“What can I say? I fell for the idea of plunging the world in chaos and ushering a new era, never before seen.”

“You mean their power intoxicated you.”

“You could say that.”

Arsene admitted.

“But there’s something I don’t understand Miko.”

He suddenly said.

“Why are you antagonistic towards the New Era? I mean according to our data, your goal is the same as ours. Slaughter the heavens and reign supreme. If you join us you would be able to do that in no time.”

Miko smiled.

“So you’re really trying to recruit me.”

Arsene nodded.

“Not just you but Luka as well.”

He looked at Luka.

“The world turned against your parents and ultimately caused their destruction. Don’t you want to get back at them and plunge this world in the deepest part of the abyss?”

He put on a serious expression.

“To be honest, one of the main reason I decided to seriously be a part of New Era is your mother.”

“My mother?”

Arsene nodded.

“I found your mother far away from her home, when she was just a little girl who wasn’t even a teen, despite telling Darwin otherwise. I watched over her for over 5 years and became very attached to her. Of course, I made sure she never knew that. It’s embarrassing to consider my friend’s daughter as my own.”

He laughed awkwardly.

“When she decided to run away from her clan, I had already decided to protect her from the shadows before Darwin even asked me to.”

He put on a sad face.

“Her death devastated me to be honest.”

“So you decided to get back at the world by flipping it over on its head.”

Said Miko.

“That’s just like throwing a tantrum.”

“And you’re any different?”

Asked Arsene.

“We have been keeping on a close eye on you, Miko. And I’m not talking about since you've became king. I’m talking about from your time as a toddler living with your parents.”

“I know. That’s why you guys sent Ace, Sora, and Hina to observe me.”

“?!”

What Miko said shocked Luka, that was because if what he said was true then the trio were linked to the new era.

This made Luka feel depressed, especially since she and Hina were so close now.

The thought of fighting her was heart wrenching.

As if sensing her discomfort, Miko held her and hand and smiled at her.

“Oh? As Ringo said you already knew about those three.”

Arsene said with an impressed tone.

“Ringo? Is that what that klick guy is going by these days?”

Arsene nodded.

“Since you’ve already figured everything out I guess it’s no use hiding it. Those three were original supposed to join Genesis, but they were left here to interact with you.”

“Why? I was just a harmless brat when I met those three, so why would you want to keep an eye on me?”

“You’re asking some dangerous questions. But sorry to break it to you I don’t know the exact reason why Ringo is interested in you.”

Arsene smiled.

“But I do know that it has to do with you being reincarnated.”

Luka didn’t react to what Arsene said.

Miko being reincarnated is common knowledge to most of his allies.

However, Miko was shocked on the inside.

‘How did they know that I was reincarnated?’

He asked himself.

The reason he was confused about this was because Klick faked his death a year before Miko met Hina. This was also a year before Miko’s own family knew that he was reincarnated.

That meant that no one outside of him and Tiamat should’ve known that he was reincarnated at that time.

So how? How did Klick/Ringo find out?

There was also the question why did he give up the trio who he clearly valued to make them interact with Miko.

‘Could it be Augustus? Could those bastards know that I’m him?’

Miko thought to himself.

He looked at Arsene for a hint, but all he got was a smile.

This smiled pissed Miko off.

“Did Ringo send you here?”

He asked.

“That’s impossible. Ringo is a member of a different department than what I’m in. He has zero authority over me.”

Arsene answered.

“Me being here and answering your questions is my choice. It’s also me who wants to recruit you. You’re status is still up for debate in new era.”

“My status?”

“Whether we should take you in or destroy you.”

Miko frowned when he heard that.

Arsene continued.

“Not only you, but we still don’t know what do with your clan?”

Miko suddenly burst out laughing when he heard that.

“You people are debating what to do with us?”

He laughed even harder.

“Let me finish the debate.”

He stood up and threw up two middle fingers.

“Fuck y’all! Yah mamas can all suck my dick!”

Arsene and Luka were shocked to hear what Miko said.

“How’s that? Did that help you make to a decision?”

He asked with a furious expression.

“I don’t get it. I know you know you can’t take us on, so why try to provoke us?”

Arsene asked.

“Because you bastards provoked me first.”

Miko replied.

“My family and I aren’t your playthings. You can’t decide our futures, we decide our own fates!”

He jumped on the table and grabbed Arsene by his tie and dragged him towards him.

“That goes for Ace, Sora, and Hina too!”

He glared at Arsene so intensely that Arsene felt like he was being stared at by a mad beast.

“Tell Ringo, Klick or whatever the fuck his name is that the trio are mine now! They’re my people now, and if you want them come pry them from my cold dead hands! But be sure to prepare a big coffin for everyone in new era including himself, because I’m not going to die alone!”

Arsene saw a terrifying anger and bloodlust boiling in Miko’s glare.

It made it hard for him to breathe.

“I’m taking at least a million of you fuckers with me!”

Miko released Arsene and threw him back into his seat.

He pointed at him with his eyes literally blazing with bloodlust.

“Tell those fuckers to prepare for a long trip to hell, with me as their guide!”

He satanic smile appeared on his face.

“We can fight for all eternity down there with the devil as our referee.”

Miko jumped off the table after saying that.

“Oh. You can take Alesia with you when you leave if you want. Even if you don’t, I wouldn’t allow anyone to mistreat her. Because she has no sin except falling for you.”

After saying that, Miko left with Luka following behind him.

Arsene sat there in silence with a pale face.

“Looks like a huge war between us and him is unavoidable.”

He muttered with a sigh.

Not too far away, someone witnessed the entire exchange.

This person was Sora.

“So Grandpa Klick is alive and is a part of New Era as I expected."

He silently left the garden.

“Looks like I’ll be forced to choose sides soon.”
