《Mythical Conquest》8th Throne- The Prophetess

Kaido suddenly appeared next to Miko, this caused the surroundings to go into an uproar.
“The 4th Throne, The Chimera Kaido!”
Someone suddenly shouted in disbelief.
“The Chimera actually appeared today! And with the Gravity Queen in one place!”
Kaido was unaffected by the excited shouts of the surrounding students and look at Miko with a deadpan expression.
“Yo, Kaido. Thanks for the info last night. Because of that I finally felt like coming to school.”
Miko spoke with a friendly tone, which made it obvious that he was acquainted with Kaido.
The fact that he was not only intimate with Bloom, but friendly towards Kaido surprised a lot of people. Especially, considering the past relations between Kaido and Bloom.
From the moment Kaido appeared, there has been a frown on Bloom’s face, and she showed no attempting at hiding it.
Kaido looked at her without a hint of emotion.
“Gravity Queen.”
He greeted her.
“Chimera.”
She greeted back without any politeness in her tone.
“What? Do you two not like each other?”
Miko asked looking at a bit amused.
“He used to work for Blanche. Because of that we fought a couple times, I almost lost my life a couple times because of him.”
Said Bloom.
Miko wasn't really surprised that Kaido worked for Blanche. It's not that he has suspected it, he just didn't really care enough.
“That's in the past. I only did what I was hired to do. It was nothing personal.”
Kaido tone remained flat, and showed no sign of being apologetic.
He really felt that the battles between him and Silver Crow were just circumstantial and nothing personal.
“Hmph. If we didn't have Jin keeping you in check, we would've already lost at least half of our members to you.”
Bloom scowled.
“The Black Reaper, huh? To be honest, I don't really like fighting that guy.”
Said Kaido.
“Oh, even a machine like you have things he hates and dislikes.”
Bloom spoke with sarcastic tone.
“Of course. I also have things that I like. For example….”
He looked at Ishma and picked her up.
Before she could protest, he gave her some candy which immediately made her docile.
Kaido then started to pet her head like a cat’s.
“I like cute things.”
He said with a straight face.
Seeing how quickly he tamed Ishma, Miko could only see him as professional lolicon.
On the other hand, he questioned just how easy it would be for someone to lead Ishma astray if he wasn't looking.
“This that reason why you're with Hana?”
He asked.
“Well that's one of the main reasons. I mean she's really cute right?”

Miko nodded with approval.
“She gives off a pure aura that just makes you want to protect her from the world's impurities.”
“Ah, I feel the same way. Delicate and pure.”
“Cute and lovable.”
The two suddenly strongly grip the others hand in a manly way.
“It's seems that we're comrades brought together by the angel known as Hana.”
Kaido said in monotone.
Miko nodded his head in approval.
“Brothers in arms under the light of the angel.”
Some reason it seem like the two were being showered by holy light as the images of angels danced around them.
A beautiful friendship in the name of cuteness had been form!
“………..”
Bloom stood there in silence and watch the formation of the “comrades” who looked like the members of a cult.
“…..I can truly never understand these two.”
She mumbled.
Once the two confirmed their friendship they walked towards a table and sat around it and continued to discuss Hana’s cuteness.
Bloom sighed and followed behind them.
Just to state, Kaido had Ishma in his lap and was petting her like she was a cat.
Regis had long lost all faith in her and was just waiting to eat. She even made an order off the menu without waiting on the others.
Miko's table naturally drew the attention of everyone in the cafeteria.
Of course it would. Miko alone was enough to draw their attention, but he was also sitting with the undefeated 6th and 4th Throne who were known to be antagonistic towards each other.
This was really an interesting scene.
“I heard that you two met, but you're both surprising compatible.”
Said Bloom while resting her head in her palms.
“As a dragon I'm naturally drawn to beautiful things, Kaido is the same so it's natural that we’d get along.”
Miko replied.
He then looked at Bloom with a hot gaze.
“Of course as a beautiful person yourself, I'm naturally drawn to you.”
“Isn't that basically saying you only like me for my looks?”
“Well, I won't deny that. After all, I still don't know you that well.”
He then showed a meaningful smile.
“But isn't that fine? At the present you only see me as a tool to accomplish your goals and I see you as the main target of my lust. But it doesn't necessarily will always be like that. Who knows, we might become lovers or even husband and wife.”
Miko's words made Bloom speechless for a while.
“…..I don't think we’ll ever have that kind of relationship.”
“Oh? Why so sure? Could it be that you already have a lover?”

“That….I don't but…”
“But there's someone you're interested in.”
Bloom said nothing in return and blushed slightly.
Miko laughed when he saw that.
He then turned to Kaido.
“Tell me about this Jin person?”
“?!”
Bloom's eyes had a flash of panic for a second which didn’t escape Miko's eyes.
“Jin, huh?”
Kaido seemed to be looking for the right words.
“Well, I don't know him that well, but if I had to describe him then it would be…..Odd.”
“Odd?”
Kaido nodded.
“I can't really understand him or his actions.”
“So he's hard to read?”
Kaido nodded again.
“But I do know that he's empty.”
“Empty?”
“He doesn't feel like a real person, but more like a ghost drifting around.”
“Oh?”
Miko smiled and looked back at Bloom.
“So you like the mysterious type?”
“I never said anything like that.”
Bloom turned away from Miko's gaze.
Miko found her bashful behavior a bit cute.
‘Hmmm….so even a cold hearted woman like her can show this kind of behavior.’
Kaido thought to himself.
‘Well, not like I'm one to talk. I can't even make a simple expression without exerting a lot of willpower.’
He secretly sighed and twirled the fork in his hand.
It was at this moment he saw someone approaching their table.
“The Prophetess?”
“Yo, Kaido, Bloom!”
The person who approached the table with a happy tone was a beautiful blonde girl with green eyes, who looked like she was around 18.
“Mayumi?”
Bloom voice had a hint of surprise to it.
The people who were keeping an eye on Miko's table were shocked when the girl appeared.
“The 8th Throne!”
It was unusual to see two Thrones together, much less three. So seeing Mayumi approaching Kaido and Bloom surprised a lot of people.
Mayumi took a seat next to Regis and smiled at everyone at the table.
“I thought you two hated each other.”
She said.
“I'm unable to hate anyone that easily.”
Said Kaido.
“Me and Miko were just discussing our encounter with an angel.”
“…..Is that so?”
Because of his deadpan face, Mayumi was unable to tell if he was joking and didn't know what to say.
She then turned her attention to Miko.
“So you're the guy that's acting intimate with Bloom?”
“And who are you?”
Miko asked with neither a friendly or hostile tone. He was just indifferent.
Other than Bloom or Kaido Miko was indifferent towards everyone else, since he didn't have the slightly clue who they were.
“Oh, excuse me your majesty.”
She did a casual bow.
“This lowly one’s name is Mayumi Shidou. I'm from the Aloe Kingdom and is also the 5th Princess.”
“The Aloe Kingdom?”
The Aloe Kingdom was a neighboring country of the Dragna Kingdom. It was a kingdom Miko researched intensely before he came here.
This was because the kingdom was the largest kingdom near the Dragna Kingdom, and also was the most powerful.
Miko had long since had his eyes set on this kingdom.
“Mayumi is a Ruler with the position of the 8th Throne.”
“A Ruler huh?”
Miko's eyes had a dangerous glint in it.
Mayumi was from an enemy kingdom as well as one of the people he had planned to trample on to reach the top, he was really tempted to capture or eliminate her.
Regis and Ishma picked up on what Miko was thinking and became fully alert and ready to attack.
“Hey, hey. I mean you no harm.”
Mayumi quickly said, after realizing the vibe Miko was giving off.
“Miko, stop it. Mayumi is my friend.”
Miko didn't back down until he saw the expression on Bloom’s face.
He wouldn't normally backdown because of something like this, but because he was trying to become Bloom’s lover he decided to restrain himself.
Well, for now at least.
“Man, you're as short tempered as I heard.”
Said Mayumi.
“I'm not short tempered, I'm just decisive.”
Miko replied.
He then looked at her from head to toe. Well, from head to torso since she was sitting.
“So you're a Princess? You don't look like one.”
“That's pretty rude you know.”
Mayumi replied.
“But I guess you have a point. I was sent away from the kingdom a long time ago, so I don't really remember what it means to be a princess.”
She spoke with a wry smile.
“So you've been here a long time?”
She nodded.
“How long?”
“Well, around from my 9th birthday. I joined the academy at your age though so I'm in my final year.”
By the way, Kaido who was 15 was a third year and Bloom who was 16 was a fourth year.
They both joined the academy around Miko's age.
“Why would the Aloe Kingdom send away their princess for so long?”
Miko then realized something.
“It's just what you're thinking.”
Mayumi smiled and said-
“I'm an Infected.”
“Miko, Mayumi’s power is really amazing!”
Bloom excitedly said.
“Mayumi has the ability to look in the future!”
