《Mythical Conquest》Death Descends

The night before the third full moon.
It was 30 minutes before midnight, and guards were stationed all over Darius’s base of operations. Two guards were stationed at the front gate, chatting away.
“Tomorrow, the boss will make one last search for that brat.”
“Finally. That kid has been a pain in our side for too long.”
“She and her friends.”
“They’re pretty annoying brats.”
“More like rats.”
The men started laughing.
Darius’s base, which also functions as his home, was located on a hill in the High Class District. It was 7 hectares in total space. It was surrounded by a 10 meter tall wall and a giant black and emerald gate. There was a mansion located at the back, which had several expensive vehicles parked in front of it. Even so, most of the land was unused and either served as a drive way, or a place for his subordinates to mess around until they're needed.
The guards who were badmouthing Hina were also messing around. The reason for that is because they had a strong belief that no one was stupid enough to attack this place. After all, it's common knowledge that Darius had close ties to the king, and was a man to be feared.
So only an idiot would attack here.
“Hm? What's that?”
That's when one of the guards spotted something approaching them, as if blending with the moonlight.
“A person?”
The person was wearing a black hooded trench coat, and walked towards the men with light steps.
“Looks like a kid.”
The men watched as the preadolescent casually walked up to them.
“Hey, kid. Are you lost or something?”
One of the men asked.
“…….”
He got no reply. The person just kept looking down.
This angered the other man.
“Hey, brat! Didn't you hear him talking to you?!”
“Now, now. He's probably just scared that's all.”
The man calm down his colleague and stooped down to the person’s level, and placed his hand on top of his head.
“It's alright. We won't hurt you. Just tell us where you're from.”
As if responding to the man's gentle voice, the person lifted their head and looked into his eyes.
“Wha?!”
The man body froze up when he saw them.
Those blue, cold, and beastly eyes.
“What's wrong-!”
*Slash*
His colleague rushed to check what's wrong, but before he could, he saw something flash before his eyes.
He vision was then dyed red.
Something splashed all over his face. He rub his hand on his face to check what it was.
It was blood.
“Wha…”
He looked beside him and saw the headless body of a man. It was his colleague who had stooped down.
“Don't suddenly touch me. It makes me noxious.”
That's when the voice of the person who did it drew his attention.
He looked at the azure haired child that was dress in black, holding a sword.
The child turned his face towards him and stared at him with cold and emotionless eyes.
That was last thing he saw before his world was split in two.
“…….”
Miko silently watched as the man he cut in two, right down the middle, collapsed to the ground.
He stepped in the pool of blood that reflected the moon, and approached the giant gate.
“….I guess I'll jump.”
He put strength into his legs and push off the ground. He jumped and landed on top of the wall.
“Hey, what the hell is that?!”

He was instantly spotted by the countless guards in the yard.
Miko paid them no mind and spoke into the earpiece he was wearing.
“There's more than I originally anticipated. I need back up.”
A few seconds later, two more figures appeared on the wall. They were Sora and Ace who were nearby.
“Hey, isn't it bad if the plan is already falling apart.”
Sora asked with a bitter smile.
“No problem. We just need to take down all the underlings until we reach the final boss.”
Ace was excited. Because of his [Boost Player] ability, he sees battle as a game. This is to help him keep a calm head when fighting. However, this only happens when he faces an opponent.
“Just don't get yourself killed, and it will be fine.”
Miko sheathed the white sword and draw the black one.
“A word of advice. I'm going to focus only on killing those around me. So don't come near me until draw the white sword. Otherwise, I might cut you down.”
Saying that, Miko jumped off the wall and landed in the yard.
As he landed, he rushed forward and used the sword and slashed at a man's eyes, thus blinding him.
“Haaaaaaa?!
“You bastard!”
Two men realizing what happened aimed their guns at him. But Miko moved before they could squeezed the trigger.
He rammed his sword into one and quickly pulled it out, and then slashed other's neck.
The men collapsed and started withering in pain.
“[Ignite].”
Responding to Miko's words, the men caught fire.
“Haaaaaaaaaaa!”
The agonizing scream of the man who was blinded echoed through the night as his eye sockets caught fire.
This drew the attention of everyone there.
“Oh, a fire sword.”
“I think it's called [Ignition Blade]. Anything it cuts will set ablaze.”
Ace and Sora watched Miko display his skills with an impressed expression.
“Let's join in.”
Sora jumped down off the wall, but his feet didn't the touch the ground.
He stepped on a man's head, and stomped him into the ground.
He looked at the men in surroundings and smiled.
“Hey, don't just stand there like idiots. Fight, adults.”
“This brat!”
The men rushed towards him. Seeing that, he put his headphones and took a deep breath. And then-
“[1st Tempo].”
He rushed towards the men with an incredible speed.
“Die!”
A man aimed a fist claded in lightning at his chest.
Sora dodged with a step to the side, and then got close to him, and placed his palm on his chest.
“[Resound].”
*Boom!*
A loud sound slammed into the man and blew him away.
“Guh?!”
Blood flew out his mouth and his eyes rolled to the back of his head.
He laid motionless on the ground.
“Wha?!”
The others who saw that was frozen with shock.
Sora didn't miss that opening.
He quickly cut the distance and slammed his fists in the stomach of two of the men.
*Boom*
Two new loud noise echoed through the night, followed by the men being blown away.
“Wait?!”
Sora kicked another in his face.
*Boom*
His neck twist around so much that it looked like a rope.
He dropped lifelessly to the floor.
Sora continued his assault.
He slammed his fist in a man's side.
*Boom!*
He was blown away.
A man tried to cut him from behind.
He countered with a back kick and blew the man away.
Some of the men started shooting at him.
“[2nd Tempo].”

But his figure disappeared before the bullets reached him.
“The hell?!”
He then popped up in front of the men and pushed both palms in front of him.
“[Resonate]!”
*Boom!*
They were instantly blown away, and all of their weapons got bent up.
“…This kid is a monster!”
Seeing Sora dominate their comrades, the men started to get intimidated.
“Oh, come on. I'm still just at [2nd Tempo]. I can get faster you know.”
Sora tapped his headphone with his finger.
“Like this.”
Sora disappeared from them men's sight once again.
“[3rd Tempo].”
“…?!”
Hearing the voice, the men quickly turned around and found Sora standing in the middle of them.
Before they could get over the shock, Sora lifted his hands in front of him.
“[Resonate:Clap!]”
He clasped his hands together and loud explosion echoed through the area.
“….Guh?!”
The men then coughed up blood and collapsed on the ground.
“Whew. For someone who called himself a pacifist, you sure look like you're having fun.”
Ace who was still on the wall, looked down on Sora and said that.
“I never said that I'm a pacifist. I just said that I preferred listening and playing music and have a good time, than fight.”
Sora answered as he slammed his fist in a man's chest and blew him away.
“Besides, why are still on the wall?! Do you expect to leave everything to just me and Gamiko?!”
“I'm waiting for a big fish. Woah!”
*BOOM!*
A beam of light destroyed the wall Ace was sitting on. Forcing him to jump off and rolled on the ground.
“They brought the tridents!”
Ace looked far ahead of him, and saw a group of men holding a large rifle.
“I found my targets!”
He excitedly stood up and looked straight ahead.
“You damn brat!”
That's when some men started attacking him.
“Move, small fries! [Arm Boost!]”
An orange light covered Ace’s arm.
He swung his arm forward and then-
“Guh?!”
He sent the men flying with a punch.
He wasn't done.
“[Leg Boost!]”
The orange light covered his legs. He then dashed forward.
He was incredibly fast. One step covered a meter.
“Move! Move! Move! Move! Move!”
“Haaaa!”
Ace rushed forward and cleared his path by punching away men left, right, and center.
He was like a bulldozer.
“[Boost Cancel!]”
As he got closer to the men with Tridents, he undid his magic and the orange light disappeared.
He stopped and stared at the men. They aimed their guns at him. Seeing that, he smiled.
“[Character Change: Magician]!”
A purple covered Ace and illuminate the area. When it faded Ace’s appearance changed.
He was wearing a purple cloak and had a staff in his right hand. The staff had a giant crystal on the top, and was made of wood.
Ace now looked like a wizard.
“Come, Mid-Level Bosses! Let's see who's stronger!”
Ace boldly challenged the men aiming their guns at him.
“Sigh. I really hate when he acts like that. That's why I don't like fighting with him.”
Sora blew away another four men when he said that.
“This cocky brat!”
Ace behavior angered the men, so they glared at him.
“Repent in hell!”
One of them fired the Trident.
It released a bright light that scorch both the ground and the air. It caused the surrounding to rumble and burst into flames. A true display of destructive power.
But in front of such power, Ace boldly stepped forward and raised his staff over his head.
“[Shield Of Gaia]!”
The crystal on top of the staff glowed, followed by the earth rising in front of him.
The earth mold itself in the form of a 30ft black shield.
This shield blocked the shot from the Trident.
“What the hell?!”
This shocked the men. Of course it would. The Trident was created in order to kill a Proxy. A kid like Ace shouldn't be able to block it.
Well, that's only if it was used properly.
The Trident was a complex weapon. It was created by the mysterious organization MYTH. It was apart of the Shiva Series and was based on the God of destruction's favorite weapon, the trident. It possessed several modes, which includes an anti-proxy mode which required an extremely large amount of fuel/magic to use, at least [SSS Class] amount.
That being said, the shot that Ace blocked was very powerful. The reason he was able to block it was because of [Boost Player].
“Hahahaha! When I change my character to Magician, I gain control over all magic as long as the one using it isn't stronger than me!”
Ace explained as he laughed. Basically, since the Trident used magic to fire, Ace can weaken it as long as the one who uses the Trident is weaker than him.
“Now it's my turn.”
Ace tapped the staff on the ground. The ground started to swell up, and raised him into the air. The earth then molded itself into a humanoid shape.
Seconds later, what stood in front of the men was a 50ft golem. It picked the shield Ace created earlier and threw it at the men.
“Haaaaaa!”
*Boom*
“Hahahaha! That definitely got me a lot of points!”
Ace who was on the golems shoulder, laughed victoriously.
“Idiot! Don't break the Tridents!”
Sora angrily shouted at Ace for his recklessness.
“Don't worry, I didn't break them.”
Ace tapped the golem and it and the shield returned to ground. He then walked over to where the men were and took the Tridents from them, and showed it Sora who rushed over to him.
“See. These things are basically indestructible.”
He threw one of the Tridents at Sora, which he caught and used to hit someone who was trying to sneak behind him.
He aimed at the other men and fired.
“Guaaaaash!”
Their dying screams reached his ears as they were disintegrated and the yard bursts into flames. It was like a scene out of hell, as those who didn't turned into ash with one shot left behind corpse that would make even a veteran warrior feel unease.
“…..”
Sora felt a sense of disgust as he saw what the Trident was capable of. He thought to himself that he didn't want to use it a second time.
While he thought so, he looked over the other side of the yard.
“…..I had already guessed this outcome, but this is another cruel scene by itself.”
What reflected in Sora was eyes was pure carnage.
Burning corpse laid everywhere. Screams of agony, resounded through the night. The limbs of humans scattered everywhere.
And at the center of it all was a boy whose entire appearance was stained with blood, walking and further adding to the carnage.
The boy had an empty look in his eyes as his enemies cower in front of him.
As Miko continued to cut down those in his way, he thought this-
‘Boring. I know that their just underlings, but I at least expect them to be a bit more organized. They just run around and get themselves killed.’
He felt truly disappointed.
‘My goal was Darius, but still at least put up a fight. Is this the kind of subordinates you get after reaching certain status…..No, it's just that the quality of this kingdom is low. I will have to rebuild the military when I take throne.’
He felt disappointment in the kingdom itself.
“…..?!”
That's when he felt a chill run through his body. He quickly draw the white sword with his free hand, and cross the swords in front of him. Immediately after, he was hit by a blinding blue light.
*Boom*
An explosion formed where Miko stood. Flames spread in his surroundings and everything burst into flames. There was no sign of greenery for a hundred meters. The only thing that was left was the scorched earth. Even the corpses turned to ash.
A true wasteland of death.
“…….”
Miko stood in such a wasteland, with his swords this crossed in front of him.
The coat he was wearing was burnt away, revealing the black base layer he had underneath.
He sent a hateful glare towards the one who caused it.
“You people are so noisy. Do you know what time it is?”
Dressed in a tuxedo, Darius stood at the entrance of his mansion.
He looked at the commotion in his yard and sighed.
“Just when I wondered which idiot actually attacked my home, it was just you kids.”
He looked at Miko who’s hands were slightly burnt, and said-
“Oh? Haven't you gotten a lot older, Third? Did I sleep for a couple of years or something?”
He then looked at Ace and Sora.
“I guess not, since those kids are still brats. Then it must've been a [Body Modification] technique. That's pretty impressive.”
Darius took a jump from his mansion, and landed in front of Miko. He travelled a couple kilometers with a single jump.
He looked down on Miko and ask-
“So what did you come here for, Third?”
Miko smiled savagely and replied-
“To kill you of course.”
“Well, that's too bad.”
Miko slash at Darius with the black sword. He caught it with his hand, and dragged Miko close to him, and punched him in the stomach.
“Guh?!”
Miko's feet lifted off the ground and he floated in front Darius.
Darius then attempted to lift him further with an uppercut.
“Oh?”
But Miko used the white sword, and stabbed him in the shoulder.
He didn't stop there.
He used [Ignition Step] and moved his body that was this airborne, and circled around Darius back.
He swung the black sword at the back of Darius’s neck.
“Huh?”
But he only thing the sword cut was air.
Darius didn't ducked or anything. By the Miko swung his sword, Darius simply wasn't there.
“Too slow.”
Darius voice came from behind him. He had moved behind him with a speed that, Miko couldn't react to.
Miko tried to turn around, but before he could, Darius grabbed his hair and slammed him on the ground.
“Argh!”
A groan escaped his mouth, Darius tried to lift him by his hair. But Miko used his remaining sword and cut it.
“Oh?”
This impressed Darius. He smiled as Miko distanced himself from him.
“You think on your feet, Third. This sword in my shoulder is proof.”
He pulled the sword from his shoulder and threw it one side.
“Huh?”
As he did, the wound on his shoulder burst in flames.
“….I see. This sword had your magic embedded in it. Whatever it cuts will be set ablaze. I've seen a lot of fire swords, but only a few like this. That's very creative.”
Darius was full of praises, while he ignored his burning wound.
“But don't you think it's too weak.”
Darius body suddenly started glowing. Miko watched as the burning wound in his shoulder disappeared.
“I just need to release a bit of my magic and it's gone.”
Seeing that, the Miko smiled and said-
“Looks like I really can't beat you on my own.”
He wiped the blood from his mouth, and looked at Ace and Sora who walked up beside him.
“Okay, I'm done with being selfish. Let's fight for real!”
