《Queen of Devouring》Volume 4: Magical Plane: Chapter 42.3 - Growing Hive

“Father!” I shouted as I knocked on his door.
“Skeiron? Come in,” he replied and the door opened by itself. All he had to do was think about it. I entered his room where two women laid in bed, sleeping soundly. Ignoring the fact that their hands and legs were tied, I hugged my dear daddy and sat on his lap. He had light clothes on for this warm summer day. The wind gently blew in through the opened windows and refreshed his smelly room.
“Why did you come to see me?” he asked. However cruel he may have been, he seemed to love his one and only son, me. The 'me' in the past loved him as well, but now, I only loved my king and queen and my other masters. Their command was above everything and if they commanded it, I’d gladly take my father’s life. Still, the queen was nice enough to keep this man alive and use him for the greater good.
“I wanted to ask for your guidance related to the skill you taught me last time. Could you help me now?” I grabbed his large and fat finger and tugged on it.
“My son, you shouldn’t rely on your father too much else you won’t be able to develop your own spells and skills, but sure enough, I’ll help you. Just remember not to go overboard with asking for help!”
“I wouldn’t do something like that!” I raised my voice. “It’s just that it’s really hard to condense mana and turn them into physical claws. If you could show me again, maybe I’d learn how to do it. Also, I’ve got some great body-refining liquid from one of the stores. Although it put me to sleep after I drank it, my power raised considerably and I became more muscular!” I flexed my arms and showed him my progress. He didn’t have to know that it was because I learned how to control Cosmological Constant to some degree and transformed my body a bit.
“Haha, that’s a good thing, my son, but do you think I need something like that?”
“Father, let me ask you this. Don’t you think women would be more interested in you if you dropped some weight? Considering your noble title, hehe, they’d definitely serve you as you wanted!” Hearing something like this from the mouth of a brat like me, from his son’s mouth, most parents would be surely outraged, but my father?
“Hmm, you must be right! I see that your servant did teach you a few things,” he winked at me.
“You bet!” I smiled back.
“Well then, look at this carefully,” my father took me off of his lap and put me on the side of the bed. Just as he stood up, Liz knocked on the door and I told her to come in. She was holding a plate with two glasses of juice on it. Naturally, they both had my blood in it. Since Master’s blood would pass through the stomach and enter the bloodstream where it’d divide until it made up fifty percent of one’s blood, we never had to worry about the amount we used or about losing our bond with Master.
Basically, once Father drank the juice, the blood I snuck into it would enter his bloodstream, divide and replace half of his blood and then it’d quickly overwrite all his cells as the blood circulated through his whole body and would replace the old ideas with new ones. His brain would be rebuilt. That sort of ‘plague’ was the Queens, and the Kings, blood.

After placing the plate on the top of a small table, Liz bowed and quietly left. My father ignorantly stood up and showed off his skill and I tried to replicate it. After a few more failures, I succeeded and then grabbed one of the glasses.
“Say, where did you buy that elixir from?” he asked as he grabbed the other glass and looked at the reddish ‘liquid’ flowing within.
“It’s from the elixir store close to the palace, it’s called the Divine Elixir store,” I replied.
“Hmm, certainly, they do have a lot of magical stuff,” while he was talking, I drank it in front of him and then laid down on the bed.
“Aaah, this is so warm or even hot. I bet I’ll become even stronger by the time I wake up,” I muttered as I slowly closed my eyes and pretended to fall asleep by regulating my breath and loosening my body.
I heard a few gulps and then he also laid down next to me. Since the bed was large, we didn’t have to mind the women sleeping on it and they were also tied up so we had nothing to fear even if they woke up. Well, my father’s rampage in the city wouldn’t last for long because once he woke up, he’d have better things to do which was to follow the Queen’s commands!
Since I wasn’t sure if that woman was still following Liz or if she was around us, I actually went ahead and slept a good one for real. I woke up to my father nudging my side.
“Skeiron, wake up,” he used Master’s soul realm to talk to me.
“Well, well, wonderful job, Skeiron, and welcome, Jareg~” Master’s voice reached my mind in the next moment. She rarely talked to me directly, so I felt utterly happy when I heard her voice.
“Is that woman still around?” she asked my father.
“No, she’s following Liz,” he replied respectfully.
“Alright. Your first task will be to take care of that woman. I don’t want suspicious eyes who keeps tracking my people and restricting our movements. I want our boundaries removed! Skeiron, you may spend your time training and as you see fit. Just don’t bring others’ attention to yourself and keep a low profile. My point is that you shouldn’t make enemies for no reason. But Liz will stay there and help you two if you feel unsure of something and you can contact me as well,” Master Elena gave a few sets of instructions and then her presence disappeared.
Since Liz was our proxy who conveyed Master’s plans and thoughts, we’d both follow her words and commands. I was happy to see my father join the right side of the universe. Now he too understood the ways of the universe, the greater good!
“My son, don’t forget that we can’t be rash. My grandfather isn’t really close to me and he’d kill me and you if he found out about us. We must be careful how we deal with Anna as well since she isn’t much weaker than me. If she were to realise that I joined Master’s side, she’d definitely report it to grandfather and say that I was being manipulated or something like that,” Father warned me. Since he drank my blood, I was above him in the command line, but he was still older than me, so I’d naturally consider his words.
And our hive wasn’t like common organisations. Even if I was his superior, I’d listen to what he had to say, maybe he would point out something I didn’t notice. Those were Master’s teachings and I’d naturally abide them. Efficiency was above everything! My personal feelings came only after.

“Wait a moment, let me transfer everything I know about Ketarn to Master,” he said and closed his eyes. About a minute later, he opened them and looked at me. He lost his weight while he went through a transformation and his old size wasn’t even visible on his skin. He had short brown hair, white pupils and after his evolution, his fat turned into sturdy muscles, though muscle mass had little to do with true strength at this point.
After all, the number of muscle fibres in a muscle was many times of common humans' and the space laws were a part of his strength as well. Everyone would reach the maximum strength their bodies could handle at the five hundred and ninety-ninth level, but they could still become stronger even afterwards by using the space laws.
With my father as Master’s pawn, we’d be able to get information from the Kings’ meetings and additionally, there was one more instruction Master gave.
Since nobody was around, Liz opened the door and led us to the entrance. Half of the workers in the mansion were already our pawns, so we had little to worry about. If only grandfather could see the light and join our side, that would be wonderful! Sadly, someone as old as him with more than a million years behind his back, he would surely know that there was no medicine or elixir that would put one to sleep. Since my father was relatively young, he believed my words and Master’s plan succeeded.
But grandfather would most likely find out that it was a legendary creature’s blood. At the front door, I could barely contain my excitement from jumping forward and opening the door, but there were eyes watching us, so I couldn’t do that. Liz opened the door, slowly revealing Master Elena’s and Master Dred’s silhouette.
“Come in, you two!” most likely ignoring his own emotions, my father acted as if he received important guests, people he liked. When they entered, Liz closed the door while Father turned around and said, “Listen well! These people are called Dred and Elena! From now on, consider them as if they were my son and daughter because they saved my life and have done a great favour to me!”
The servants in the mansion all looked at him with baffled faces and their focus soon changed to our masters. This was the first time I met them in person and their overwhelming presence prompted me to kneel, but I knew that it wouldn’t do any good for their plans, so I refrained from doing so. I truly had trouble standing, but I knew had to.
“But, are you sure? We weren’t of much help, we should refuse it, after all,” Master Elena said in a low voice, but everyone was able to hear it.
“Hahaha, what are you talking about? Is saving my life a simple matter to you? Come on in and be my guests! I’ll talk with Grandfather later!” Father laughed loudly and led our masters to his room. I followed them while Liz had to leave to do her job at the mansion. I felt bad for her since she could have met them in person, but I knew that she grew up alongside them, so a part of me was happy because I would be able to have some time in their presence as well.
As nothing but a pawn, I was quite sure that not many of my peers would have the luck to spend time with Master! When Father closed the door, both of them sighed out of relief and sat down on the side of the bed. Looking at the tied up women who were looking around in confusion, Master Elena made a thoughtful face.
“Should I get rid of them? I’m terribly sorry that you have to see something like this. I was an utter trash, I beg your pardon,” Father knelt down and bowed deeply as he used the soul realm to ask for forgiveness. Give his deeds in the past, I wouldn’t be surprised if Master disposed of him once he lost his value. Sadly, my Father wasn’t worthy of living.
“Turn them into pawns,” she replied.
Nodding his head, Father stood up and walked up to them as he slit his wrist.
“Drink my blood or you die,” he said coldly. As broken as they were, they didn't even reply and just did as told.
Master Elena clicked her tongue, dissatisfied with Father’s past 'achievements’. “I'm quite a bit against using broken people like them, considering what these poor souls had to go through, but thanks to someone stupid, their lives have been screwed! Since this is the only way to make them happy and save them as well, I'm willing to take them in, but they'll be free to do whatever they wanted.”
“Jareg, once they wake up, you shall free them and never meet them again, unless I requested it. Am I clear?” Master Elena commanded.
“Yes.” Father bowed deeply and showed proper manners in front of the King and the Queen.
“You shall receive your final punishment later. Work hard to atone for your sins,” Master Elena said.
“Yes,” my father replied once again with a single word. Even if he became one of us, his sins wouldn’t be forgiven just because of that, else everyone would be kept alive.
“Skeiron? Why are you trembling? Aren't you supposed to hide your emotions well?” she added.
“I'm sorry, Master. It's just that-”
“Haha, I was just joking. But really, stop it,” she rolled her eyes. I knew that my masters didn’t like when we knelt down in front of them, but as for me, it was a way to show my allegiance and my respect and most likely the others felt the same.
“Alright, once your grandfather agrees to take the two of us in as your adopted children, we’ll have noble titles as well. If you see that he doesn’t want to agree, tell him that we’re only thirty years old and at our current level. It’d surely raise his expectations and he’d want to make connections with us instead of refusing us, though we aren’t that old…” Master Elena mused.
“Understood,” Father replied as he raised his head.
“Audrey, Cor, and Jake are at the Demon Burrows right now, so they should reach the Bear God’s forest soon. We infiltrated the Greywing family as well, so that’s another good thing and additionally, we have pawns all over the city. Yosh, I should turn the Warton brothers into pawns as well so that we’d have people in the academy. With the information net and our resources shared, we should be able to avoid being found out and be at ease,” Master Elena smiled brightly as she listed all the good news.
“Elena, I’ve just thought of something,” Master Dred said as he paced around the room. “You know, we wasted so much time on just a single planet by trying to find out more about people and then judge according to their deeds, but tell me, wouldn’t it be easier if we just turned them into our blood servants instead? It’d both make them useful and would save us a lot of trouble as well. I believe we should focus on trying to turn everyone into our blood servants instead.”
She hung her head and sighed as she replied, “I thought about that as well, but I wasn’t sure since it’d take away their freedom. But it’s also true that those who kept their own wills would never become completely ‘good’ people or they’d always have a chance to change once they were betrayed or something of the sort. If they were all our pawns, they surely wouldn’t do those kinds of things, but I still couldn’t bring myself to do it.”
“I plan to go through with it nonetheless,” he replied. “We don’t have the time to investigate every single person and then either kill them or leave them be not to mention that they could betray us any moment if they kept their freedom.”
“Are you sure?” she asked.
“Yes. We’d also come to find out about their past lives like that,” he nodded his head.
“If that’s the case, I’ll follow you,” she sighed. “Friends have more friends and those friends have families as well. The branches are infinite, so turning the weaker ones into servants wouldn’t be a problem. The truly problematic ones are those old folks above the seventh realm. Do you plan to kill them?”
“I’ll see about that,” he murmured.
A society of my Masters’ blood servants where everyone would understand their holiness and wouldn’t bother with things like races, treasures, positions of power. Where everyone would live in peace! What a wonderful society it’d be! My only hope was that I’d stay alive to see the day the whole universe was under my Masters’ control.
“Okay, one of our servants just notified me of the Warton brothers’ leave, so somebody give me some blood, I don’t want to use mine on them,” Master Elena sprung up all of a sudden and requested our assistance.
At that moment, two knocks could be heard on the door and Liz entered, “I beg your pardon Master, but wait,” she said.
“What is it?” Master Elena raised her brows.
“Before separating, Master Audrey retrieved some of their blood in case Master wished to use a more potent version. Even if they aren’t that good when measured by Master’s standards, I believe they’re quite talented humans. If they were to become Descendants as well, they’d make a good team of three and their potential would raise considerably, maybe enough to keep up with us,” Liz explained.
“Hmm, that’s true and if they had access to all the abilities and knowledge we gathered, they could advance relatively quickly. Alright, that’s a good idea,” Master Elena stepped forward and hugged Liz. “This was your request, right? Are you happy now?” she laughed.
But I- I felt so envious I wanted to bury myself. I took a quick peek at my father and seeing his eyes, I knew he felt the same way, but since he was a sinner in his life, he definitely wouldn’t receive our masters’ favour. But if I worked hard, maybe, but just maybe, I’d have the chance to request something like that! This made it clear to me that I had to work harder than any of the pawns!
“Master, Anna has returned,” Father warned.
“In that case, behave normally for now. You should turn her into a servant if possible, but if you fail, you just have to take her life instead,” Master Elena replied.
Nodding his head, my father turned around to leave and welcome Anna with a new set of commands. If she stopped following us, it’d be more than good.
I believed it was only a question of time before the world received my masters’ goodwill and blessing and turned into a much better place!
