《The Voyager》Season 1: The Starcraft Commander---Chapter 94: Boarding attack

On the surface of Shakuras, hundreds of Nerazim centurions and dark templars were waiting.

Beside them countless Nerazim and Khala civilians were running toward the warp gates to escape. Vorazun couldn’t promise holding off the combined fleet successfully until help came, so she attempted to get as many people off this planet as possible.

In space, Vorazun’s expression darkened as ship after ship fell around her. The sound of dying Nerazim pierced her ears. Her tight fist showed her emotions. She had never met such a bad situation. Hell she didn’t even know who the enemies were and why they suddenly decided to come for Shakuras.

The enemies had took some damage, but they could withstand such losses. The Nerazim couldn’t. Suddenly voices came from beside.

“Matriarch, the coordinates are locked on.” A straight faced Nerazim technician reported.

“Project dark pylon now.” Vorazun’s hand reached out, and a long stick appeared. It was her weapon, a Shadow Scythe. “Executor, you are in charge. Shadow guards, join me in combat!” She turned on her shield and gave out a silent order to warp her away.

“Matriarch...” The executor wanted to object. It was unwise for the commander of the fleet to charge into battle herself, but the young matriarch was too consumed by rage to think logically. Her people were dying, and she needed to avenge them. What was a better act of vengeance than cutting the enemies in half with her weapon?

Light beams appeared in at least a dozen Dominion battlecruisers. When the lights cleared, dark pylons were standing tall in the ships. Dozens of light beams followed immediately as they appeared around the dark pylons.

Opening their eyes and facing approaching Dominion security forces, these Nerazim warriors disappeared. The next time they appeared was right before the Dominion troopers. Their green warp blades lighted the red armors of the Dominion forces and signaled the fate of these unfortunate marines.

“General! We have been boarded by the protoss! Security forces are overran!” A screen popped up in Warfield’s flagship.

“Calm down soldier! How many enemies are there?” Warfield asked.

The captain glanced at the screen. “Fifty.”

Warfield frowned. “You have 2000 men on your ship. Mobilize the security forces and eliminate the enemies.” He said with dissatisfaction and turned off the screen. Since when did the Dominion forces become so weak? It was 40:1. The terran should wipe out the protoss in no time.

But just as Warfield turned his attention back to the front, the words of the adjutant brought bad news.

“Commander, at least 20 battlecruisers have reported being boarded by Nerazim forces. That number is still growing. 2 ships have already lost contact.”

“What the…” Warfield frowned. “How?”

If Warfield was in the front he would realize how severe the situation was, but Warfield had never really fought with the Nerazim, and he had no idea how powerful these stealth warriors were in close quarter.

In one of the battlecruisers, Vorazun’s figure solidified. The two ends of her weapon shined green light of destruction. Behind her were 20 shadow guards and 30 centurions.

The Dominion captain commanding this ship was neither blind nor ignorant. A group of marines was already sent to where the dark pylon appeared. As soon as they saw the intruders they opened fire and called for reinforcements.

Vorazun jumped into the air. The marines looked up and raised their weapon, but before they could pull their trigger the matriarch disappeared. The marines frowned, and the next second Vorazun appeared in the middle of the marines.

Marines were ranged units. They mainly relied on their gauss rifles to gun down the enemies. Vorazun was a melee hero with a specialized weapon. The fate was sealed.

Vorazun turned her scythe around her, and all eight marines within the range of her weapon were cut in half. Their upper bodies fell on the ground. The sound of them screamed ranged across the security channel.

Hearing the terrifying scream from the marines, fatally wounded but still conscious, Vorazun smiled wickedly. Her sympathy was already burned away by her losses. Countless Nerazim had died this day, and she needed countless terran to pay the price.

The rest of the marine squad backed off, trying to get to a safe distance and open fire, but Vorazun wasn’t alone. The rest of the marines soon found that out as they were literally dismantled by the shadow guards that followed Vorazun.

Vorazun walked past another screaming marine. His upper body laid on the ground, shaking in pain. His severed legs twitched. Facing the matriarch, the man reached for his pistol. Vorazun didn’t move. A single small caliber pistol couldn’t threaten her. Under Vorazun’s cold eyes, the main put the pistol toward his head and pulled the trigger.

Vorazun turned around and walked down the hall of the battlecruiser toward the bridge.

The Dominion security forces were stuck in a very awkward position. They had heavy firepower, including siege tanks and thors, on the ship, but only a fool would use these weapons inside the ship. The explosive shells of siege tanks would do more damage to the ship itself than the Nerazim every could. This limited the units of the security forces to marines, marauders, and goliaths. A standard battlecruiser didn’t have ghosts aboard.

As the unfortunate security forces soon found out, infantry units were no match against the Nerazim strike forces.

Severing the arms of a marauder, Vorazun ended the life of the poor soul in another hit. The thick armor of the marauder melted like butter against the green blade.

Dominion security forces were still steaming out, but the fact was that the nature of the battlecruisers made it certain that only a handful of marines or marauders could fire at once. Their firepower could barely break the shields.

A brave/mad marine charged at Vorazun, but his bravery was rendered useless as Vorazun blinked past him. He was immediately dismantled by the shadow guards that followed Vorazun before he could even turn around.

A few minutes later, the Nerazim forces had already reached the gate of the bridge. The metal door was shut close, but the trail of spare body parts behind Vorazun showed that the matriarch wouldn’t be stopped by a layer of metal.

Vorazun backed off, and a shadow guard walked forward and stabbed his blade into the door. The metal door was thick, but it did very few against the warp blade.

Pulling back his blade, the shadow guard backed off. A large piece of square metal fell out, revealing an opening.

Again, the commander of the Nerazim fleet was the first to enter.

Blinking into the bridge, Vorazun was met with the firing of several rifles and pistols. The Dominion officers held their ground against all odds, but their resistance was futile. Ten seconds later, every terran in the bridge had perished.

Vorazun and her warriors unleashed their anger on the control panel of the battlecruiser. When there was no more hope of regaining control of the ship, the Nerazim stepped back and were consumed by warp beams.

A few seconds later, the group of hit team was warped onto another Dominion battlecruiser, and the same thing continued.
