《The Voyager》Season 1: The Starcraft Commander---Chapter 82: Controlling the Purifiers

The Minotaur docked near the Cybros. Jean set foot on the now defenseless purifier ship.
“What type of idiot will lock away an entire army of powerful mechanical warriors?” Following Jean, Nova stood in wonder at the grand vessel. The Cybros was an impressive creation. There were five separate areas where purifier units were kept in stasis. Best warriors in the protoss empire locked away for an eternity.
The purifier army was formidable. Its units were literally designed to collaborate with each other and be as efficient as possible in the art of combat. Unlike the tal’darim, the purifiers didn’t need to have a tilted army structure to satisfy their social structure.
The purifier army was consisted of following units. Sentinels. Adepts. Instigators. Conservators. Energizers. Immortals. Colossi. Disruptors. Scouts. Mirages. Carriers.
“Those idiots doubted the loyalty of this army.” Jean explained. "The purifiers, unlike the Khala, weren’t connected by the nerve cords. They didn’t have access to the Khala. This made them seen as unstable and dangerous.”
Nova’s eyes twitched. “Will you have the same problem? Loyalty is always an important part to consider.”
“Perhaps.” Jean walked to the central crystal controlling the ship. She tapped something, and one of the sentinels was released from stasis. It was a standard sentinel.
There were two types of purifiers. The first type was created by inserting the conscious of famous templars into mechanical purifier bodies. These type of purifiers had their own thoughts and could make their own decisions. Clolarian and all the other purifier heroes were examples. The only difference was what made up their bodies. These type one purifiers usually acted as commanders due to their experience and superior skills. Jean knew these purifiers wouldn’t help her. The proud templar would never obey her without a question.

The second type of purifiers were standard purifiers. They were AIs programmed to obey the command of individuals. In the previous case the standard purifiers were programmed to obey Executor Clolarian, the commander of the purifiers. These purifiers were expendable soldiers, even cheaper than the type one purifiers. Their lack of conscious meant they could be mass produced as long as there were sufficient resources. Their strength was based on their mechanical bodies and the skills of battle coded into their computer brains. After all, they were the perfect soldiers.
Jean came here for type two purifiers. If she could change the target of loyalty from Clolarian to herself she would hold a powerful army that she could keep with her to whatever world she would travel to due to their mechanical nature. Purifiers weren’t considered as living beings.
The sentinel was activated as soon as it left stasis. It’s eyes were turned on and scanned the surrounding. When it realized the presence of an unknown and possibly hostile personal, the sentinel drew its blades.
The purifier blades were closer to the terran psi blades than protoss plasma blades. Purifiers don’t have psi energy, which meant their fighting abilities had to be based on high technology weapons. Purifier blades, for example, modified the effect of psi blades.
Jean acted swiftly. Her hands were covered by a layer of carapace. Facing the two double blades, sentinels had two blades on each arm, she reached out and held the purifier blades in her hands. The blades hissed and burned in Jean’s hands, but Jean’s carapace and rapid regeneration was enough to hold the blades there. The sentinel was pretty powerful, but it wasn’t enough to threaten Jean.
Her muscle tensing, Jean tore the purifier blades away. The two broken armaments flew to the side and laid down uselessly. The purifier was still present. It didn’t know pain or fear, but it had lost its weapons. Jean grabbed the maimed sentinel by the neck and reached within its head via her psi energy.

In the head of the purifiers were data webs. These data webs connected the purifiers and allowed them to switch between different shells. In this case, what Jean cared about was the data webs’ ability to change the coding of the sentinels.
The sentinel struggled, but Jean held it in place. The two meter tall sentinel was much taller than the one meter six Jean. A lower leveled purifier foot soldier was in no place to resist a specialized zerg unit like Jean.
Under Nova’s worried gaze, Jean went through the index of the data web. A few minutes later, Jean suddenly dropped the sentinel. She tapped her watch, and the Megalith appeared right beside her.
“Jean?” Nova asked, but Jean didn’t have time to answer the question of her loved one. She entered the Megalith for just a brief second before returning to the sentinel. She passed a message into the data web of the sentinel. The struggling sentinel stopped resisting.
The sentinel’s eyes closed as its internal AI processed through the new data inserted into its cpu. Jean finally had a chance to turn back to Nova.
“Not everyone could modify the purifier’s data web. I needed an access code.” She explained. “Luckily…”
“it was stored in the Megalith.” Nova concluded.
Jean nodded. “After gaining access to the data web I wiped out all the original targets of loyalties. I set my order as the first priority and yours as the second. If things go well we will get what we want very soon.”
The two remained silent as they observed the processing sentinel. If the sentinel came back and drew its blades again then that would mean something was wrong and Jean’s plan had failed. If the sentinel came back and submitted to Jean then their reward would be insanely high. Nova’s hands began to sweat. What the sentinel would do next would matter a lot. The ghost peaked at Jean and found she was as calm as ever. Feeling a wave of calmness washing over her, Nova held Jean’s hand and observed the disabled sentinel.
The sentinel’s eyes were turned on again, but this time the robot warrior did something very different from what it did a while ago.
“Command me.” The AI said with a deep, mechanical voice.
Jean smiled sweetly.
The rest of the undertaking went on smoothly. The data web connected all the purifiers, which meant Jean was able to upload the settings of the single sentinel onto every single other standard purifier unit.
A few hours later all the type two purifiers were reprogrammed and taken over by Jean. As for the type one purifiers, well…
Executor Clolarian opened his eyes as he exited stasis. He found himself surrounded by his purifier brothers.
The famous executor didn’t know what happened. The last thing he knew was being put into stasis by the Protoss Empire after a failed rebellion. He didn’t know how long it had been since that. He didn’t know what happened. All he knew was he could trust his brothers.
He couldn’t be more wrong.
Clolarian remained in confusion until his last seconds. When the yellow purifier blades cut through his metal body, all he saw was the cold gaze of the sentinels that made the blow.

Dungeon Instinct
The multiverse is a big place, and it is also constantly in flux. As such sometimes mistakes occur, impossibilities that should have never come into existence. An aspect of corruption born naturally of a mortal and a divine, a Void that is a singularity instead of a duality, a being that came to be before existence ever was, a forgotten that is not damned, the possibilities are infinite and limitless, and thus so are the possible mistakes in this grand multiverse. But are not mistakes more entertaining to watch? For Kelic the Blightborn, life was suffering. Born of a holy Templar dedicated to serving the Forgotten Guardian and a powerful abyssal demon queen that raped said Templar, Kelic’s first sight and sensation in Quellios and its realms was being baptized in the life-blood of his dying father. Tortured in the 1425th level of the abyss for ten years, Kelic was only set free of this constant nightmare of an existence by the unintended results of the Ascendant Angel’s rise to true divinity. His freedom from the abyss was not the paradise that the young Kelic thought however, as he was branded a BlightBorn, or a child of tragedy that brings only misfortune, by the people of Quellios. Abused by all he ever knew or met the boy found solace in only in the things of beauty and the act of reading, a skill he taught himself. His latent ability to comprehend and remember all of what he read and the sheer speed of his reading gained the attention of a prominent figure of Evrette Academy Island. Taken in by the famous mage Fredrick Dunhousen, Kelic lived in peace for the first time in his young life… that is until he was killed. Follow the tale of a newly born dungeon core in the world of Eserthet, that has only one single purpose. One single purpose it decided for itself...
