《Trinpik》Volume 1 Ch.9 The Parachute

Week after week the speed of the tossing rocks increased. Sometime during that period I got this message.
!!!Attention!!!• - Your Stamina Stat points have stopped at 1500 points.
• - You may not gain any more stat points in Stamina until gaining a profession.
• - If you continue to train your stamina stat, it will not increase, but it will redirect its stat bonus towards a random stat.
Note: You have discovered 1/10 secrets regarding stats.
I was eager now since I could help my other stats rise through the means of endurance and just running around. I was set on making all my stats 1500 now. It even became that much easier.
Currently we were at 6 months since the start of the big project. 4 months after the epidemic.
I am now catching 6 stones per minute. With the new rate increased from the catapult itself. The support of the architect, Vionia and the blacksmith, they were able to constantly innovate; the now more accurate catapult and much faster one at that.
It’s been 4 months since I last saw Tio and Frick’s. I have no idea where they are, they are free animals after all.
This entire time I had an inclining that they were still digging the towers basement. On the surface of the supposed basement the only thing I saw change was the huge mounds of dirt increase, although it only had two holes on the surface from where a constant pour of dirt would be flying out. I guess it’s not easy digging around 15 meters below the surface.
The elder asked us to increase the basement from 5 meters to 15 meters deep and from 10 meters wide to 20 wide. The size of the tower being built was now not 25 stories high but 30 stories high.
I really feel cheated since even the quest didn't upgrade, thus the rewards and failure cost were still the same. It made me angry, but I just continued to catch stones since Vionia wouldn't give me time off. Only when the stones stopped for an hour would I quickly shove food down my throat. Everyone was eating and looking out for themselves was the golden rule agreed upon this time of building the tower.

Phase Running LVL 50- Rare Skill
- This running with higher level can manipulate spiritual plane in order to avoid any detrimental effects of the physical world.
- With higher level, skill may even use air as a stepping-stone when running. (Can currently can make 150 steps in the air.)
- Consumes mana and stamina at 200/second.
-!!!!!! New discovered effect!!!!! Slows down time were 1 min passes as if 2 min.
Note: Higher levels of skill will lower the consumption of mana and stamina.
Inertial Turning LVL 67• - A super rare skill.
• - Uses mana and stamina to produce rapid turns.
• - Currently can withstand up to 65 g-forces while turning.
• - May accelerate any extremity of the body to 65 g-forces instantaneously from a stop.
• !!!!! New Effect Uncovered!!!!! Can move in any space without any restrictions.
Note: Sharper than 65 g-force turns will result in blacking out. If STR is low may result in tearing body parts off the body.
During the process of catching stones, I became irritated and set the preferences to only show me accumulative stats when I asked. Never to display things I have seen before without my approval.
“Shiiiiiiiiiiiishhiiiiiiii” I smelt a burning sensation. It was truly horrifying. It was my skin being cooked by the stone. It flew very fast, faster than any other; however it was as red as the sun. I think Vionia was torturing me at this point. I will get her back for this one day.
To my surprise no more stones flew. Even after my quick lunch, no stones flew.
I raced over to see what has happened. When I arrived the huge stone pile that was supposed to be there that should of taken us 2 years to transport was nowhere to be seen.
Then I heard it.
Vionia: It really worked. Did the last stone make it without breaking?
Salim: Why you little witch, why did you send me such a hot stone? All the skin on my palm nearly burned off!
Vionia: Stop being a baby you healed, didn't you?
“Choooo chooo choo chooo” my head and anger was on fire. I really had to teach her a lesson.
I quickly disappeared in front of her eyes. The next thing she noticed was being dragged up in to the air with my Phantom Running. I am going to take her as high as possible and be it so that I fall with her. It’s going to hurt her more, I thought to myself.

As soon as I reached 100 meters in the air, over the lake. I ran out of mana. Enjoying the fall with her.
Then I started laughing really, really hard.
“ha ha ha ha h ah ah ah ah a ah ah ha ha” Choking while laughing all the while.
“I finally got my revenge on you.” I said.
All she replied was “Really? I don’t think so.”
I stopped laughing and realized she was smiling.
I then noticed something on her back open up, as if it was a big back above her head. I think it was called a parachute, but what its purpose was, I was not sure. After crashing into the lake, I got out, waiting for her to swim out.
Vionia: Finally you got out.
As I turned around I saw this little girl. (Vionia gliding gracefully down.)
Vionia: Try harder next time.
I had lines going down my face. Ingenious, she truly is.
Vionia: We should go check to see if Tio and Frick’s aren't lazing around.
Since she was as slow as always, she got on my back and I ran to the towers supposed basement.
It was as if it was perfectly timed. Tio and Frick’s were waiting for us just outside the newly marked rope.
HE he he. I knew that they too were smart, and I was going to see something good.
Vionia: What kind of garbage is this?
Since there was no one around Tio spoke up.
Tio: We are finished.
Frick’s: It was my idea.
Vionia & Salim: Since when did you learn how to speak?
Frick’s: Since I reached 1800 Stat points in each...
Salim: Whaaaa? How come you get to go that far and I'm only at 1500 each?
Vionia: What? I am barely at 800 in each Stat.
Frick’s: It said I’m sealed and can’t grow further without the Moonstone.
Salim: I see, so all that bonus stat went in to your speech Stat right?
Frick’s: Yep
Salim: Just because you know how to speak you shouldn't just because you want to. The people will assume you're a demon and try to kill you.
Frick’s: Yeah, I know I know.
“Kapowbooom”
Salim: Don’t get smart with me.
Vionia: Well what was your idea Fricks? It better had not been chasing butterflies while we were working our butts off.
Tio: Take a stone and throw it in the middle of that supposed basement center, with all your strength please, make it go at least 50 meters high.
I took a stone, ran up using Phantom Running, and at about 60 meters high with my full power tossed the stone.
The ground shook for a bit then the ground within the ropes began to collapse as if floors in a building falling on top of each other till the depth reached 15 meters.
Truly a magnificent sight, even I was amazed.
Salim & Vionia: Impressive.
Even all of the villagers ran up to see what that shaking was.
Elder: Amazing. It seemed like you were behind for some time but having all of the currently mined stones here and even the basement dug out. We can start building the basement while they mine more rocks.
With Vionia’s conveyer that dropped rocks from the stockpile into the hugely dug out basement, I at the bottom of the basement laying out as much stone as I could around the walls the architect showed me, in order to prevent the collapse of the sides.
With my speed and Phantom Running we did not require any ladders or scaffolds I just used my running to do all of it. The invisible like platforms made by my running didn't last long, but long enough for me to place the rocks properly.
In a weeks’ time the outer foundation was finished.

Much like his father before him, the new master of House Doom is a prodigy of war, yet the venerable minions of his household still hold strange loyalties toward his missing ancestor, silently comparing the legendary rage of his father to the more pragmatic approach of the son. Adding to Basil’s frustrations is the lack of accomplishment he feels for his work, with the dungeon keeper often taking on handicaps just to give his enemies a fighting chance. With all the power and wealth one could ever dream of already within his grasp, Basil now finds that the achievements of others kindle more joy in his heart than his own crushing victories. Thus Basil has taken up mentoring the next generation of dungeon keepers to try and diagnose the cause for his own lack of passion. With his apprentice, Elnora, managing most of the daily work around the dungeon, Basil can finally turn his attention towards his personal concerns, such as tackling the shadow of his legendary father that still looms large over him.
