《Supreme Truth of Chaos》Chapter 70: Demigod Fight
Advertisement
After he initially stabbed the man, David quickly pulled the knife in his right hand out of the Demigod's back used it to repeatedly stabbed the man. David was basically using one knife to hold his victim in place and one knife to repeatedly stab.
This was a very direct method of attacking with a knife....it helped the knife wielder have excellent leverage in thrusting with the knife. As he finished up the tenth stab, David felt an increased weight on the knife that was holding onto the Demigod. After a rapid fire stabbing, David realized that his surprise attack was successful.....he must have hit at least four vital points multiple times... including the heart.
He yanked that knife free of the body causing a trail of blood to fly in the air. As if the knife was supporting him, the Demigod's body fell to the ground in a bloody heap. The body didn't move...the Demigod was dead.
David was excited that his attack had succeeded.
'Only one Demigod left,' David thought as he readied himself for another fight.
Not wasting any more time out in the open, David immediately faded off into the shadows and backed away from the scene. He still didn't know where the other Demigod had went.
Just as David had that thought...a boom sounded out from the desert. And David could hear the rapid sound of someone moving through air.
"Mateo," a shout echoed from just outside the town, "Who fucking killed Mateo?"
David felt a burst of movement at the town wall. In the next second, a man holding a sword appeared near the fallen body.
'Where the fuck did this guy come from?,' David thought as he exerted more heavenly energy to hide himself in the shadows.
The man was also holding some sort of amulet in his hand. David recognized the stone as a a life stone. It was a special heavenly stone that was used to keep track of the life of someone else. Some familiys would keep a life stone of their people when they went out on adventures....so that the people back home would know if the person is alive or dead.
This sword weilding Demigod must have a special relationship with the man David just killed.
"Where the hell are you? You fucking coward. Come out!," the man shouted off into the darkness as he ready his sword in a defensive position.
David wasn't goaded by the name calling. He had realized his strengths long ago. Fighting out in the open wasn't his strength. He wouldn't put himself at risk just because of some name calling.....he wasn't that noble.
Regardless, David moved closer to the man. He was planning another sneak attack while the man was flipping out and distracted. It would be nice to end this quickly....he was working with a limited amount of time after all.
Staying in the shadows, David sneaked forward to attack. After he got about 10 feet away and he lunged for an attack at the man's neck. As he moved in close, the man suddenly responded. David felt the threat of the sword pass near his face as he rolled out of the way.

'How the fuck can he tell where I am at?,' David thought to himself. He hadn't left his shadow form yet...no one should be able to detect his presence.
Almost as if responding to David's questioning thought....the Level 4 Demigod began to taunt.
"Coward. I may not be able to see you move, but I can still feel your killing intent," the tall slim man said, "you might as well clean your neck....you won't be able to escape me tonight. I will take your life for killing my brother."
After his words, the man appeared near David and struck out with his sword. The sword came very close to cutting David and it didn't stop with that one movement. David had to dodge several times.
After getting attacked steadily for a few minutes, David realized that the situation wasn't as bad as he originally thought. Although the Demigod could sense David's killing intent, he still couldn't see David while he was in the shadows. Solely based on his ability to sense killing intent, the man would have difficulty landing a blow with his sword.
David was trying to figure out how to hide his killing intent. It was hard...he was trying to kill the man...of course he would have killing intent....how was he supposed to make his killing intent go away?
David didn't know answer, but he knew he needed to finish this up quickly. He had lost track of time and wasn't quite sure how much time he had left to get to the tunnel to escape.
As he got about 10 feet away, a sword attack suddenly came too close to David for him to dodge. In fact, he couldn't even deflect the blow....he had to defend....it was heading straight at him.
David had no option but to defend against the sword attack with his knives. David crossed the two knives in front of his face to catch the attack. The blade hit one of the crossed knives and slid down to hit the interlocked knife guards. The impact was so intense that David's wrists started to buckle. He was struggling to keep his feet under him....this attack was the strongest that he had ever received. As his wrist started to give, the sword blade started to bite into David's fingers. David could feel a coldness in his fingers as he felt something shear off of his right hand.
Mustering up some strength, David pushed his blades forward and dropped down to towards the man's side. As he moved along the ground, he swung one of his blades at the back of the man's knee. As the blade dug into the man's leg, David felt the man begin to fall....and he felt his knife slip out of his grip.
'What the hell?,' David thought as he tried to figure out why his knife fell out of his hand. Looking down, he could see that two of his fingers were missing and blood was pouring out of the wound.
'No wonder the knife fell out,' David thought while focusing his Body of Recovery to stop the bleeding.
Now he was injured and only had one knife left. But the man was pretty bad off too. David had managed to sever his calf muscle on that leg. He was limping around cursing and waving his sword.

Out of nowhere David heard a swooshing sound coming from the air.
'Misery,' he thought before drifting off back into the shadows.
Misery swooped down directly and hit the Demigod hard with her sword. Her blade hit the man in the shoulder, but didn't make it that deep due to the man's armor. The man turned instantly and managed to chop off one of Misery's arms. She had no reaction at all and actually stabbed her sword forward into the guy's chest...which completely took the man off guard. He just stared at her wide eyed. As he was being stabbed, he had thought to himself, 'How come this woman didn't react to getting her arm chopped off?'
Even though the man was stabbed in the chest, he still had some considerable strength. He pulled back with Misery's sword in his chest and swept his sword at Misery. His sword hit her legs like cyclone and severed both legs. Misery fell to the ground but started laughing.
The man was shocked again. He had chopped off her legs and all she did was laugh.
While this was going on, David was giving Misery pointers. The man seemed to be able to detect David's killing intent when he attacked. So there were two solutions to this issue...David needed ot learn to hide his killing attent which is extreamly time consuming...or the man needed to be really distracted.
Coincidentally, the man's attack on Misery gave David both solutions at once.
When the man saw the legless MIsery rolling on the ground in laughter, he lost his composure for a split second.....and in that split second the Demigod was completely distracted.
At the same moment, David had been very concerned for Misery's safety. While he knew that the woman could be chopped to bits without any issue, David was still worried about the off chance that her Blood Stone would be damaged.
He attacked the man almost immediately. However, this attack didn't have any killing intent. He was attacking to protect Misery, so his killing intent had vanished.
Flipping the knife around in his hand, David attacked with a downward stab. He rammed the knife into the man's chest. Since it had been embedded in the man's chest, David performed a serious twist and pulled hard with the knife. Blood shot everywhere. The Demigod didn't go down immediately though. David was still less than an arm's length away. The demigod spun around to strike David with the his sword.
David brought up the downward facing knife to block the attack. The sword hit David's knife. The impact caused stress on David's wrist. The knife bent back and cut into David's forearm.
Feeling the sword hit's strength lessen, David jumped away to get some separation. He also exerted his energy to blend into the shadows again.
Looking over, David could see that his last knife attack had been deadly. The man was now kneeling on the ground. He looked down at the blood flowing out of his chest.
"Who are you and why would you do this to my family?," the man asked. The look on his face said that he needed to know why this was happening.
David backed away a bit more before coming out of the shadows. He needed to give himself some room Incase this man had a trick up his sleave.
"I am just a slave your town purchased to work in your mines. Any person that can treat humans the same way that your town has....deserve to die," David said.
"I see," the man said.
"May I know the name of the man that has killed me and my brothers?," the fallen Demigod asked with a strained breath.
"Night," David said simply before fading back into the shadows.
David made his way over to the now quiet Misery. He always kept an eye on the man just in case a last second attack happened.
But nothing happened. David watched as the kneeling man took his last breath and slumped over on the ground. David had a sullen expression as he watched the man die.
"Quick...drag me over there...that blood is some good stuff," Misery fussed in contrast to the mood.
David walked over and picked up her almost limbless body and placed it next to the demigod's body. He then sat on a piece of debris on ground and started to look around.
'Where the fuck are my fingers,' David thought as he realized that he may be able to reattach them with his Body of Recovery skill.
After looking for a few minutes, David actually managed to see the two pieces of his fingers. He stood up and walked over to pick them up. Looking at the two pieces of finger, they were pretty trashed.
He walked back over near Misery and sat down again.
Sitting on the ground, David was trying to heal himself to recover from his injuries. The biggest pain was the two missing fingers on his left hand.....well it was more like he was just missing the last two segments of both fingers. The pieces that were cut off wouldn't reattach no matter how hard David focused his Body of Recovery skill. He still had two little nubs that were starting to scab over.
Misery was even in worse shape, but she was rapidly recovering. The blood from a Level 4 Demigod seemed to be very potent and Misery's missing limbs were steadily regenerating. Despite her mutilated appearance, she was laying there with a big smile on her face.
David looked over at Misery and tossed her the two finger pieces. "You can do something with those...," David said trying to give her a hard time.
Looking at David, Misery smiled and popped both finger pieces into her mouth like they were candy.
David winced. Looked like his attempt at a joke backfired.
"Thanks for the snack, Night," Misery said with a grin. She was really good at fucking with his head.
David tried to refocus himself on his injuries....then a thought hit him all of a sudden.
"Fuck.....Misery...we need to get to the tunnels," David said as he realized he had completely lost track of time.
