—POV Mathias —
Name: --- (Mathias) Age: 3.5 Months Gender: ♂/♀ Level: 5 Class: Plant Sage+ Race: Bermuda Grass Unique Variant: Mana Vampire HP: 50/50 Mana: 25/25 (+10,000 pt/hour) Growth Points: 650 Growth Rate: 125 (50) pts/hour day (night) Strength: 5 Vitality: 25 Agility: 1 Intelligence: 155 Tamed Species 2 Tamed Total 13 + 2 Titles: [Destined to Die], [Reincarnator], [Martyr], [Boundless], [Late Bloomer], [One of Many], [Eaten Alive+], [Kin-Slayer], [Bug Tamer], [Unnatural Predator], [High-Elf Creator] Abilities: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,
Wooo! I got another title after setting up the high elf evolution path. [High-elf Creator], huh?
[High-Elf Creator] Rank: X Evolved a sentient species, Elf, to their higher-form, a High-elf. Both pre-evolution and post-evolution species will feel friendly and respectful towards who holds this title. Strong aversion to these species to harm or endanger the holder of this title.
Yes! Another layer of protection! However, I wish it was towards humans to be honest. Elves already have a predisposition of friendliness towards nature, while humans for the most part treat nature as something that owes them something. It’s a small pet-peave of mine, as well as one of the leading causes of the death of over 90% of the population… BUT beggars can’t be choosers. And sometimes having a close relations to something so chaotic is a bad thing. There are so many heros and leaders that are villified once they reach prominence. I hope elves are different. But now that I think about it, this is actually much better to have it be related to elves. Would I count as nature to them, or as a dangerous weed that upsets the balance? NVM, this is good.
Looking at Taeya, it looks like she’s getting better and better at utilizing her mana. I think she’s learned mana sight or something similar. Because her mana abilities are starting to mimic those of the bugs and the cubs more and more… Damnit, I wish I had a body to cast spells, be fast, and have a typical fantasy life! Even then, I doubt I could be as fast a learner as she is… Did I make High-elves too powerful!?!?
—POV Jard and Torgue—
Jard - Haha! I got away this time!
Noooooo! Jard, how’d you escape this time! And why am I caught!? I thought I was really fast! How did she get so much faster!
HAHA! Now it’s your turn to catch us! Good luck!
NO FAAAIIIIRRR!!!!!!
—POV Taeya—
I did it! I finally caught Torgue! He’s so fast, but I felt I could do it and I suddenly got even faster than I was before, my legs got stronger and my breathing got easier. I always watch as these two run away from me, and I see their mana flowing to their muscles in their body. I think my mana is giving me a boost too! Now that I’m catching my breath, yea, it looks like my mana is circulating in my muscles now.

I was tired of getting bullied and exhausted by Jard and Torgue! Torgue can run the fastest, but his turning and nimbleness aren’t the best. On the other hand, Jard is much trickier. As soon as I’d get close he’d jump to the side or leap off of something and leave me tumbling in the dust. Either way I’d have to chase them until I was dead tired.
Ah, torgue is so soft, and his wings’ fluttering is so peaceful and calming…
But now it’s time to let him go and RUUUUNNNNN!!!!!
— POV Mathias —
… It’s really not fair. At least I can take solace in that I created something that will increase the diversity of the world. Sigh. I guess I should follow through with thinking about all three types of nature mages instead of restricting elves by reducing their options. The three types of mages revolved around three distinct nature energy usage.
The donation system where an elf sends some regular and nature mana together to activate an effect using chanting. Trouble is how to implement this other than creating something like a wand as an intermediary. I need more information to get this to work.
Global consciousness where I implement a nature summoning-type of magic. But again, this might take a lot from me. Even with thousands of mind-threads listening and thinking to respond to spells, I don’t know if I’d be able to sustain such magic. So I’ll try this out for awhile and see if I can do it or not. Oh, maybe I can make it a city-based thing, or grove-based thing? So I only have to take care of certain parcels of the world instead of everywhere. Seems easier to do. Then again, it depends on the population.
Finally, we have the nature-imbued body where a “seed” is planted inside of them so they can grow bark armor, grow vine-whip arms, have increase healing and strength. Trouble is, I’d either have to create a species of mutualistic plants or somehow make a separate part of my to graft onto them.
… Well, I haven’t even tried to implement any of these yet, so I don’t know their feasibility. But I do know I shouldn’t restrict them too much. Right now it’s not an issue, I guess I should start teaching Taeya some magic sooner or later to test them out. Sigh. So much to do, so little time.
And so many issues. Time seems to be slipping by much faster than it should. I feel like I’m thinking at a normal speed, but when I’m talking with one of my kids, I know it’s taking me too long to respond to them. I feel like it’s just been a week or two, but looking at my status it’s been a couple of months! Thankfully Another issue I have is the stupid trees and shrubbery are still dangerous to me. I seem to be in peace with them currently, but I can feel how much energy they have and just how effective that energy is. A hundred of my energy points are barely worth 1 of theirs. I can always evolve, but I’m weary of changing species yet. It’s difficult for me to decide something so much different than what I currently am. Of course, I don’t hink these larger plants would pose a problem for me if I could handle my energy storage and energy transferrence problem. I have little potatoes that I store my GP in, but they don’t hold mana very well. My vines cover miles of ground, but a lot of use that is regarding my power. It’s like wherever I “think” from, I can draw energy equal to a circular area around me, with decreasing gains as it gets larger until it’s zero.

I need to reorganize and choose my priorities. Elf stuff: Low. Nature magic: Low. Pet stuff: Low. Tree stuff: Low. Magic stuff: Med to Very high. Information Stuff: High. Attack and Defense stuff: Very high. Energy stuff: EXTREMELY high (Previous one depends on this one).
That makes me feel better. I have my marching orders, now it’s time to execute them!
…
…
… What …
…
…
An owl just swooped over and dropped a mouse by me… I guess it saw me entombing the dead animals for fertilizer? Weeeeeird.
— Gustav —
Hoot hoot! This glade is crazy! First mana weed, then everything started to die, then there was a huge animal that fought a pack of humans. Then two small cubs, then an elf, then that coccoon thing, a blast of the most amazing mana I’ve ever felt, all while seeing the grass spreading! Hoot hoot!
I should leave. But again, this mana and other energy is making me stronger. I want to leave, but I can’t. Hoot! So I should try to be good!
Hoot hoot!
— POV Traveling Caravan —
“THIS JOURNEY IS SUCH A PAAAAAIIIINNNNN!!!!”
… I’d believe that more if you weren’t hugging me and burying your head in my hair Rose! I should’ve kept my stupid mouth shut when she offered to teach me how to make a wand. All she did was teach me how to put a rock on a stick!!! It actually DECREASED my magic’s power! And now she makes me wear it!!!!! “Sigh. Of course it is. We’re going through a jungle. Normally we’d meet bandits, monsters, or other people, but how is that possible with that!? And I want my old wand back!!!”
“Cirili, you’re no fun! I made that wand especially for you! No way! And she’s my pet! Of course I need to take Sheal with me! She can’t be making all the creatures run away, she’s just a big ‘ol ball of fun!” Humph, I should take that wand away from you. Actually taking something that should increase your instant-use magic power if you master it. I’m going to take more liberties then! Mmmhmmm
— POV Guards —
Alice (Oracle guard, shares shifts with Liza) - “I was wondering what’s been going on. We’ve been wandering around for quite a bit, but we’ve yet to see any living being between towns. What do you think Alice?”
Liza (Archer, and Archer’s sister from Pheonix quest) - “Alice, I think the Princess is partially right. I’d say it’s about 50% dragon, 50% Rose. I can’t be sure. With my eyesight I’ve seen an animal or two, but if they look at either one of those two they seem to run away.”
“That’s probably why the last town we passed near these outskirts of the kingdom everyone was hiding in their house. Next time I should go alone to gather provisions for us all.”
“Sounds good! But can I do it first? I feel so useless without being able to bring down game with it all running away! We’ve had to stop at every town to reprovision! I want to help out Rose anyway I can!”
“Sure! I’ll guard the cart then and keep them company!”
— POV Rose —
“Besides, doesn’t she look a little thin? Maybe you should let her go hunt for awhile? That way it’s a win-win for us!” And this way I can show off my power to the guards and the commoners!!!!! Take that evil monster! Take that Bandit! Take that disrespectful peasant!
“Uggggh, I guess you’re right. You’re irritating when you’re right. That’s it, I’m not letting go of you for the whole week!” Yes! More fondling excuses!
… “There’s no way you knew about the problem before, and are just using this as an excuse, is it?”
… “tch… No way!”
… Totally unconvincing. Control your hands!!!!!
— POV ??? —
Yes, the bad ones should be purged, purged, purged! It hurts, it hurts, make it stop!!!!! So much small pains everywhere! It itches, it scratches!!! If I’m going to die, they should die too!!!
It’s so scary in here.
Drip. Drop. In their mouth it plops. Drip, Drop.
Oooh, this one’s a fighter! Yay! But so weak!! I like his ideas, but I don’t have blood! Maybe later I can use it. But for now, you have to go!
‘Splat’
Good, it’s quiet now.
“Waah! Waah!”
This one is *was* hidden. ‘Crack’ There we go. It’s a neat bundle now, arms and legs together! Oh, still alive are we? I’ll have one too then. Be calm, come with me. I have some plans for you then. I like obeient ones. You'll be obedient, right?
Sizzle, fizzle. The black fire crackles, feel my scorn. Sizzle, fizzle.
WHY DOES IT HURT SO MUCH!!!!!
Gotta hide the evidence. Gotta hide it, gotta hide it!!!!!!!!
Hide the pain, hide the flames. Ooops, can’t hide those hehe.
Time to go!!!!!!

A Titan's Crusade
Erik Thayne spent most of his life being brutally ridiculed and tormented for his weight and physical appearance, among other things. A social pariah and diagnosed with an eating disorder no one has an explanation or treatment for, Erik spent years trying to overcome his issues with his personal image and escape the ridicule and vicious torment of his peers. After years of dedicated effort, and a fresh start in a town away from his childhood and adolescent tormentors, he had finally begun to truly realize what he'd been striving for all along. Only, fate apparently has other plans because in the blink of an eye, Erik found himself snatched from Earth and taken to another universe, another world, where he is offered the chance to be more than he'd ever imagined. Now, he has to fight to restore the Balance between Chaos and Order on a world of swords and magic, in a universe governed by the System's laws, which resemble those of RPGs from Earth. Erik learned to embrace the things about himself that others taught him to hate, using them to reforge his physical identity into something more removed from his old self-loathing. But can he learn to embrace the darkest parts of his mind just as he did the reviled aspects of his body and become who he needs to be to succeed in the task set before him? It might just prove easier to stalk in the dark as a monster than to walk in the light as a man... *This is my first time publishing anything I've written to a public audience. Due to formatting issues, I forwent traditional stat-screens for something a little less problematic, delineating stat screens by separating them from regular text with horizontal lines in a lighter-grey coloration. Let me know if you like them or not. Criticism is entirely welcome, but please don't hate on my work after only reading 1 chapter. This is a writing project I intend to complete but I have committment problems so we'll see how long this goes on. Also, fair warning, as the description implies, the main protagonist is intended to be someone who has been treated cruelly, developed antisocial tendencies, and ultimately has to question his own humanity--or lack thereof. This story is not intended to be brutally dark but I will definitely be trying to follow a darker theme. It is intended to be violent and some scenes later in the story might be...alarming. There will likely also be some light, non-graphic (think more implied with crude jokes and conversation than actual details, there will be no full-blown sex scenes)relationship scenes planned later and if you're opposed to either a bisexual or gay main character, stay away. I haven't yet decided which way he's going to swing but the odds on him being straight are relatively miniscule, and I've always wanted to write a story about a gay man who basically looks like a lumberjack because who doesn't like giving conventional stereo-types the middle finger? This will NOT be a harem story, and I have no intention to focus on romance over action--it's a consequence of character development where I'm concerned, not the be-all-end-all of the story. The cover-art does not, in any way, belong to me. It was an image titled the Druid King (by duskanmarkovic according to the file name) which I found on Google Images. Until I can get something commissioned, this is the best stand-in image I could find.

Hymn of Ignis
If a man is told to walk from the moment of his awakening to the world, what will he do? He will walk. What if along his path he stumbles and falls? He will get up, and walk. What if along his path others bar the way? He will push through, and walk. What if along his path a storm hinders his passage? He will overcome it, and walk. What if along his path the sky changes color and light no longer guides the way? He will remain on his path, and walk. What if along his path the very ground gives way to oblivion? He will press on, and walk. What if along his path he becomes more than a man? Will he stop? Release schedule will be either weekly, or biweekly, depending on the time I have available. Hopefully that will change for the better along the way. As for the story itself, opinions matter a lot! I appreciate both soft, and hard criticism, so don't hold your punches.

The Eye in the Sky
People have always thought that the undead would come from hell - that they would rise from their graves to bring their torments upon the earth. They never thought that they would come from the heavens instead and rain upon the world like divine judgment. Ten years had passed since that day. Evan had thought that he had seen all there is to see. What remained of civilized society couldn't recover. Millions of zombies wandered in every city, and thousands more roam the countryside. Every day was a struggle to survive just as it had always been. He, as well as most of the survivors that remained on earth, had resigned themselves to a life of wandering until their deaths. Their last hope was news of an underground settlement being constructed to the far west, outside the eyes of the wandering and falling undead. But then they encounter a girl who had survived in the middle of a heavily-infested city. She claims that she knows of a way to end the apocalypse once and for all. What should he and his group do?
