I think I’m dreaming. I can see. I can finally see!!!!!!!! Somehow or another, by beating that thing, what I now think was a slime monster, I can observe what's around me! I took some heavy damage, obviously, and my energy is nearly depleted, but I can finally see!!!
Before I get into exploring my new sight though, I should definitely heal up. I’ve been unconciously using my growth points to regenerate all of the damage that I took from being digested piece by piece. I have maximum growth point generation from my roots, and my normal generation points from my leaves, yet I'm STILL at 0 points. Fuuuuu, this is gonna hurt again. I have to jettison the damaged leaves, cauterize the ends of my roots….. Uggggh, this is so annoying. So many life and eath meetings in a row hurts me, on the inside and outside. It's been awhile since I've slept without at least part of me being unconcious. Sorry mind, I can't handle this without splitting you up again. Part of me deals with the necrosis, part of me deals with the pleasure from the sun, part of me order my bugs around, another part work on diabolical schemes, while I deal with surviving and learning. I won't forget about you, fear, because I can't have you interrupting my thought processes anymore. If I need to change into a certain color, I don't need you stopping me. Somehow, maybe by reaching level 100, I've managed to split my mind up even more with my ability. It's helping me a lot by keeping my mind mostly clear. My thought processes are overall amplified, but each individual process is slowed. I've managed to mitigate that by keeping most of my processing power dedicated to survival, so I haven't lost my quick-thinking or decision making abilities.
And yes, I do need the diabolical schemes thought process going. It's nice to think about the future, and how I take over this world! Mostly though I'm underpowered here, though I do think up some hilarious methods, like going all "The Thing" over all the plants in the world, releasing deadly poisons from my soon-to-be flowers, mind-control on animals of the forest, and so much more.

With those thoughts under way, what's upgraded from before the great slime-tastrophe. I've gained mana!!!!!!! So fucking cool, but only 1 zzzzzzzzzzzz. And that regeneration rate, wtf!? So small. It's ridiculous. But at least I've unlocked it!
I'm level 100, and it seems that's the limit for my species. Must be because I killed something that no normal grass should be able to, a true sentient creature versus another plant. That's troublesome, to say the least. It may be about time to leave my species, and grow into my new species. Whatever that will be. Still not sure exactly how that will work, but doing that at 0 Growth Points seems like suicide.
Some generic stat increases, ok, and a cool-looking title. [Unnatural Predator].
[Unnatural Predator]Rank: F
Unlocked by devouring your natural predator. Decreases likelihood your natural predators will try to devour you.
Ah, this feels good. I have solid defenses, and TWO tiles to counter the [Destined to Die] title! Yes!
Fumu. I see something else, yet again, that I didn't want to see. It looks like how my class leveled, so can titles. I now have [Eaten Alive+]. Hopefully it just increases something by a little bit, I'm extremely vulnerable right now without my stockpile of growth points.
[Eaten Alive+]Rank: S
This being has been dined upon while still alive! Twice! Through mental toughness, he has survived the ordeal without going insane! Increases resistances to mental attacks and pain in general. No longer invites others to wonder about his taste, instead they now think they shouldn't eat the bearer, he must taste bad.
You know, I'm not even mad. It's description is kinda hurtful, but I cantake it. I mean, I do have Cyanide running through my body now, I do probably taste bad.
Oooooh, there are my two beauties! Two abilities that look awesome to have! From Pokemon, let you recover quickly by taking in nutrients from the ground fast. But, since I didn't create this ability, I wouldn't know the effect here in this fantasy land. Come on, something really good!
Rank: S
Unlocked naturally by having both the knowledge and correct actions taken. Active: By dissolving and absorbing the nutrients of a fallen being, you have the possibility of also absorbing traits and/or abilities of the being. Traits and abilities gained can be influenced by knowledge of the abilities, and needs/wants of the user.
Fuckin YES!!!!! Jackpot baby! This must be why I got mana and from the Slime! Finally, some golden luck has befallen me!
…How did I unlock this though? All I remember is piercing something with my spines, and then nothing.
Let's reonstruct the final battle. My leaves were being dissolved, my spines were piercing and slashing at the slime above me. It was painful. I unleashed 700 spines, and one of them hit something hard and pierced it. Then the Slime died. Then I passed the fuck out. Hmmm, from the description, I skipped a step. I never dissolved anything, unless….. Somehow the outside of the the Slime core was resistant to the dissolving acids of its main body, but with all the damage I dealt to it, and the final piercing, the core was exposed to it's own acid! So I learned the ability by basically cheating. Niiice. When it rains, it pours! So while I was unconcious, I activated the ability to absorb the Slime core, gaining my precious mana and eyesight, something I've wanted since day one! Woohoo!

And now, finally, I have !! I love it!
Rank: A
From Ingrain. Allows the perception of energy, both mana and their natural life force. Range: 5 meters
It ain't everything, but it basically is to me! I can see some trees, the air, the grass, my roots………
I understand now. I was the creator of my own demise. I'm replenishing my growth points now, something very important. The grass beside me is a dim green. My external body is also a dim green, but growing in brightness quickly. And, so are my roots. I can clearly see my search pattern my roots took, as they glow brighter and brighter. Sigh. It's all making sense now. So many puzzle pieces are fitting into place. The reason the Slime could follow me so easily. The reason the grass that took my energy quickly used it up to grow. I'm the outsider here, berefit of instincts. The grass uses up it's energy fast so as to not attract large predators. Maybe grass-san was trying to help me when he linked up to me. 'Sniffle'
I can't dwell on the past now though, the future awaits! I must uphold the Friedrich Nietzsche principles! While also some Sun Tzu and free thinking mixed in. And some fun… And love haha. Man, even without my hormones, I miss the touch of a woman.
And not only that I can see, I cen see a lot more than energy. My other ability, , finally activated! I can see the levels of the grass around me, and the aphids, and my Slaughter Guards! Generally all the grass, save one or two bundles of grass, is level 1, with the exceptional being level 2. The aphids all have level 1, and my Slaughter Guards are an awesome level 15 each! They each have some specs listed too, like one of the aphids has a stealth ability, while most of the others are mostly vanguardy types. They have more strength and vitality vs agility and intelligence the other has. They don't have any names. I wonder…… If I focus on the stealth bug, maybe….
"June"
Success!!!!! I've managed to name it! The reason why I named her as a female, was, because, I can see her gender in her status lol.
]Rank: B
Passive: Due to your intellect exceeding a predetermined amount, allows the user to know in-depth knowledge of others. Basic stats are revealed of people who are lower leveled than you. Only works on lower species.
Back to my conundrum of the flashing neon sign yelling 'Eat Me!" Hmmmm. I need to fix this somehow. My energy is spread throughout my whole body, drawing a large "Come eat me" sign to any and all that can see it. Instead of contriving something weird and convoluted, I should think of how the plants on Earth stored energy. Some spread it out, like me. In fact most did. BUT, there are some magical plants that store their energy in a bulb, or root. I'm talking about tubers and, of course, potatoes. Delicious potatoes. That seems like a good strategy. It would open me up to ground predators, like moles, voles, and grubs, but will also greatly reduce predation from above ground. Hmm, I wonder what will show me this time?

Ahh, that's why I always ask my ability a generic question. There are such things as mana stones! Sweet1 No way in hell am I gonna have any of those! Too many stories where mana stones were rare, or sought after, by not only humanoids, but animals as well. No fucking thank you. But the other two are nice. Might as well grab both of them when I can. For now, After the day ends, I'll start storing my energy in a potato. I am literally a Bermuda-Potato Variant.
…
Time: night
…
You've got to be shitten me. Well, who woulda thunk it. My species changed to Bermuda Grass Unique Variant - Magic Potato. And, I'm back to level 1. FML.
--------------------------------
Ya'll probably don't want a sob story, so I'll just slide this in here without one lol.
Was a paypal button, removed because I have to request permission zzzzz.
Ok, a small one. I am currently a graduate student, so any amount helps! That was tolerable, right?

This concept of the book came about from having two mild heart attacks and the regrets of not being more active in my younger life. Note: The cover of the book is from a painting of Richard the Lionheart at the Battle of Arsuf (1191) during the Third Crusade where he defeated Saladin. Painting by Gustave Doré (19th century).

The Bronze Players of Recreation
The world of Creation has seen a recent explosion of what can only be called an adventurer’s culture over the past few decades. People who were once looked at as nothing more than lower class mercenaries rose to the ranks of heroes and legends as adventuring became recognized as an idealized lifestyle of overcoming hardship and finding triumph. With the establishment of a guild-based government system on the continent of Terramania, adventurers were soon legitimized and adventuring became a phenomenon universally accepted around the world. Redlette had retreated from this world to live on Earth for the remainder of her years, having been born and outcast by the gods of Creation. However, upon meeting a friend that she treasured dearly, she found herself longing for a return to her world—she wanted to experience it properly and go on adventures with someone whom she holds dear. Putting a plan into action, she meets with her friend, an awkward, nerdy boy by the username of Herring who she’d only known through years of playing online games with him, and invites him to go on this fantastic adventure with her. An adventure in another world had always been an impossible dream for Herring, but when he suddenly found himself with the opportunity to embark on one, he knew it wouldn’t be as simple as books and shows made it out to be. Redlette was notorious for rushing into things without thinking them through, and he was flighty and weak. In the games they played together, they rarely grasped victory. They were losers through and through, both in hobby and life. Despite this, though, he takes the leap and sets off with Redlette into the world of Creation. Together they only had one goal: to have fun and go on the adventure of their lives. This time, they’d establish a guild of their own and be free to take on whatever exploits their hearts desired. This is the story of the founding of their guild. Author’s Notes: -My writing style is largely based off of the absurd amount of light novels I’ve read and anime I’ve watched, so it may come off as cartoonish or exaggerative at times. If that isn’t your thing, I’d steer clear of this story.-Not an MMO story.-No numerical stats.-Relatively slow pacing.-Posts are between 2000-5000 words weekly after Chapter 1.
