Part Nineteen
Nick and Matthew just left class for the day. Usually both of them would report to their clubs, but not today. Instead of going to their club they headed to grab a bite to eat.
Katherine did not follow them out, she chose to go to the library. It always seemed like she wanted to expand her knowledge with reading. The amount of times she chose to hang out with them could be counted on two hands. Katherine did not enjoy being in a group, she preferred to be alone.
“What restaurant do you want to go to?”
Matthew asked Nick with a curious gaze.
Nick shrugged his shoulders. He wasn’t that picky when it came to the restaurants they went to. No matter where they went, each restaurant had at least one thing he ate.
Seeing how Nick did not really have a preference Matthew moved his eyes side to side gazing at the various restaurants.
Matthew and Nick would usually follow Freya around to restaurants. She always chose something that suited all of them, but it was always a different one every day.
Without her here it seemed like something was missing. Yet, Matthew refused to believe that they needed her around to grab something good to eat.
“Alright! We are going there!”
Matthew pointed at one of the restaurants they’ve been to before. It was a place they were fond of due to it being the first place they ate at when they became friends.
A lot went on that day but it was fun.
Nick chuckled a bit as he remembered how Matthew always picked some kind of spicy food when he came here.
As they went inside Nick and Matthew both noticed that Alyson and Isabel were present.
Since they saw someone they knew they could invite them to eat with them.

“Hey.”
Matthew called out to them.
Hearing a voice that sounded familiar the two girls turned their heads. In front of them was Nick and Matthew.
A small smile crept up on Alyson’s face. She didn’t know why but for some reason she felt happy that Freya wasn’t with them.
She knew that Nick had a fiancee, but still, she felt happy. With things going on with her father, she was confused for a while. During that time she wouldn’t smile much or feel much emotion. Now, things were different.
Alyson did not fully recover from her shock but it was enough for her to go on with her daily life.
This was not the first time they’ve ran into each other, but it was the first time that Freya was not with them. Usually with Freya around everything was friendly and she seemed very outgoing. It was hard to be the girl in the spotlight when Freya was with them.
“Hi!”
Alyson eagerly responded.
Suddenly she blushed as she might have been a bit too excited.
Matthew smirked hearing her response. He felt that she was a bit cute in that moment.
“We were wondering if you two would like to eat with us?”
Matthew asked them.
Alyson turned to Isabel. Neither of them spoke with words, instead, they spoke with their eyes.
Isabel didn’t know much of what was going on in Alyson’s life outside of school as they did not talk everyday. She did understand that something was wrong and with the look Alyson was making now, Isabel felt relieved.
“Sure.”
Isabel smiled and said.
The four of them moved with the line and grabbed their food. Finding a seat was sort of a challenge as most of the seats were filled. They were left with no choice but to sit outside.

“What do you guys think of the assistant?”
Isabel brought up a topic before she took a sip of her water.
Matthew shrugged his shoulders.
“It’s kind of hard to get a feel for him. I guess only time will tell what he is like. I’m more interested in the story from that day.”
Matthew said as he smirked and turned towards Nick.
Nick wanted to pretend like he did not know what ‘that day’ meant, but it seemed to be futile as all eyes were on him.
“Nothing, like I said we just talked. Trust me, the less you know the better. Getting caught up with her is not a good idea.”
Nick plainly said.
Matthew was referring to the day Rachel called him out to talk to him in private.
Matthew grabbed Nick and put his head under his armpit.
“Stop playing around and spill the beans. How do you two know each other.”
Matthew started messing around causing Alyson to giggle a bit and Isabel couldn’t help but smile.
“I see you never fail to change. I assumed over the break you’d mature a bit but…”
A voice said.
Matthew let go of Nick as his face changed.
“Why do you care?”
He responded in a cold tone. As he glared at Scarlet.
Next to Scarlet was a young woman with dark blue hair and light blue eyes. Total opposite of Scarlets red hair and eyes.
“I don’t, but I can see the other one got smart and ditched you both.”
Scarlet ignored the glaring eyes of Matthew and turned her attention to Alyson and Isabel.
“I’d advise the two of you not to hang around with him.”
“Man, you always nag at him like you’re his wife Scarlet. I’d expect nothing less from you as he is always hanging around beautiful ladies. No need to be jealous, you already have his body in the future let him live in this moment.”
Nick commented swiftly.
Usually Nick would not say anything but he did not want Matthew to do anything for now. It was their first day back after all.
Scarlet clenched her teeth and humped, as she turned and left.
She suddenly stopped and clenched her chest as she dropped to her knees.
Matthew rushed by her side to see what was wrong with her. He noticed black blood coming from her nose. Her breathing was all over the place too.
He clicked his tongue as he took out a pill case.
