So, I erased any other chapters making mention of the hiatus and condensed it all down to this one.

For those who missed the previous notifications, this story is on hiatus until such time as the current situation has settled and I'm not getting hatemail, bad reviews, and threats about how the word "Conservative" is used in this story.

This story wasn't intended to poke at any particular modern day country, and as one reader put it, the situation in the story closely mirrors one that was in their home country several centuries ago. I don't understand why some individuals see a group of aristocrats who have held more or less absolute power within a political system for centuries with everyone else being stuck as peons, and are now seeing political turmoil due to a rising middle class that's demanding basic rights and freedoms. I mean, stuff like that was happening in most of Europe centuries ago, and has parallels to the American Revolution.

However, sometimes, a person will hear the words "Conservative" and "Liberal" in a story, and they view it as critique on modern society, rather than recognizing that the two terms in question are extremely subjective in a cultural and historical context.

So, until this story stops being unintentionally inflammatory, it's on hiatus. Hopefully, 2022 will be better and people can start being reasonable again.

Anyway, the reason why three previously posted chapters have been condensed is because, as promised, I've posted the first chapter of a new story, with more to come. Link is in the author's note below.
