《Dex's Adventure Through The Elemental Nations (Completed)》Chapter 56

- Dexter's Blood Clone's POV;
This was getting boring, Jiraiya was still sure that we would find Tsunade. We're now over three weeks on this trip and the newest rumor of her was her being seen three years ago speaking with a small clan of traveling Ninja.
Of course, he doesn't know that Tsunade is working for me and hasn't left Uzushiogakure since then. She is way too busy with training the new medical Ninja, leading the hospital and on top of that her position as an advisor.
She's also often seen with Mikoto and Mom playing with the Uchiha kids.
So I was a hundred percent sure that we wouldn't find her. However, Jiraiya was dead set on archiving the almost impossible.
The problem I now have is that I am not sure of the Ninja that were following us. They have Jonin ranked Chakra reserves and are well versed in hiding and tracking. They have to if they are able to follow Jiraiya unnoticed.
Their Chakra is calm and almost without emotions, kinda like the ROOT Ninja that belong to Danzo, so I think they were sent by him. Probably to watch over us and, if possible take us out in case we do find Tsunade.
Something happened three days later, they got reinforcements. Two hundred Ninja ranked from Chunin to Jonin are on their way to us, they stopped a good distance away from us and I can feel the foul Chakra of Orochimaru in them.
These guys all have the cursed seal and I'm sure they will attack either tomorrow or the day after.
However, Jiraiya would still be able to flee, if not beat these amount of Ninja. How are they going to stop him from escaping?
Maybe this is only a poorly planned attempt of getting rid of him? Hmm, I might be able to help them a little.
Later that day I lazed the sake of Jiraiya with a fast working poison. It has no smell, taste or color and is most effective in combination with alcohol. The poison is most likely the same one he got in the original anime during the Tsunade retrieval arc, as it disturbs his Chakra control and senses.
Got it from Tsunade, she had mixed feelings when I told her for what I needed the poison. On one hand, she agrees with me that the people responsible for the destruction of Uzu have to pay, on the other hand, she still has memories of the goofy Ninja that was once her teammate.
At the end, she relented and gave me the mixture.
It was easy to give him the poisoned drink, I only had to henge into the whore that was serving him drinks and hand him the poisoned sake. The person I was impersonating was sleeping in her room, so there was no chance that she would walk in while I gave it to him.
Funny thing was, there was another 'whore' who gave him his drinks. The thing is, she had the curse mark and was obviously also poisoning him. She also tried to give me something, but my acting shadow clone refused anything offered from her.
The three sins of a Ninja; alcohol, whores, and gambling. He was indulging himself in two of them. So I think he isn't allowed to protest if it's going to cost him his life.
He would be out cold up till the late afternoon. And long before that the spying Ninja had already closed in on our position and were ready to attack.
Their plan was easy but still good. They simply flooded the whole town with a nerve gas. Of course, nothing a really high ranked Ninja would die from. Chakra and their constitution were a good combination against most illnesses and poisons. Still, anything below Jonin would die from the gas and it was gruesome stuff as well.

It was colorless and took effect after only a couple of seconds. I only managed to stay safe from the stuff thanks to my ability to sense the sudden death of hundreds of people. I immediately started to use wind Chakra to breath and coated my skin with a small wind barrier.
People who breathed in the toxic air began to cough violently and then started to spit out large amounts of blood. Pieces of lung flesh were mixed in between the blood. They were coughing out their dissolving lungs. The streets were filled with blood and corpses in a matter of seconds. Didn't matter if it were men, women, children, animals, old or young. They all vomited blood and died from the lack of air or destroyed lungs filled with blood.
Jiraiya did breath in some of the stuff as well, it woke him up in the blink of an eye and he coughed violently. He shot up in a suppressive display of speed and was battle ready. At least he would have if still hadn't had some of my poison in his system.
He couldn't stop himself from moving fast enough and fell back down, where he once again coughed violently. This time also spitting out some blood.
“Dexter, we're being attacked!”, she shouted between his coughs.
“I know”, I said evenly and without any rush in my voice. I was sitting in a chair opposite from his bed and was watching him.
“I got poisoned, we have to get out of here”, he continued, not noticing my obvious lack of fear or battle readiness.
“I can see that, tell me Jiraiya, why did you accept the mission that let to the downfall of Uzushiogakure?”, I asked while standing up. The enemy was now rushing towards us and would reach us in a few seconds.
“What?”, he asked and finally looked up. His eyes grow wider when he saw my emotionless expression.
“Dexter?”, he asked, but the wall towards the street exploded before he could continue. Six Ninja rushed inside, four of them going straight at Jiraiya, the other two at me.
They had breathing masks and the curse seal was flaring on their skin in full view.
The two that were coming at me were obviously not aiming to kill, but rather attacking me with the intent of restraining me. One of them even had another mask in his hand for me.
They stopped dead in their track when they saw me unaffected from the gas and looked at each other for a moment before continuing with their attack.
I, however, had no intention of getting captured and pierced their chest with my wind enforced hands. Both looked at me in disbelieve, before dying while gurgling something incomprehensible.
Jiraiya on his side may be hindered from my and their poison and on top of that from the toxic gas, but that didn't mean that four lowly Chunin ranked Ninja could do anything to him in Taijutsu. He acted quickly and pierced the heart of the first, before throwing the Kunai at another one, also killing him. The other two tried to impale him with a Kunai and a sword, but Jiraiya jumped upwards and was doing a double kick aimed at their heads.
The kick missed both their target, as he had used to little force in his jump. He didn't hit their head, but their chest. Not that it mattered, their ribcage got pulverized by the force and both died from the bones that pierced their heart and lungs, as well as from the force alone.

By now his head had pieced the situation together and he jumped out of the open wall. Directly into the middle of the street, where the remaining Ninja were waiting for him.
Those who were Chunin had their cursed seal on level one, the Jonin on level two and the ROOT Ninja were supporting them from the top of nearby buildings.
I henged into one of my attackers and strolled to the open wall and looked down, right in time to see Jiraiya attempting an earth Jutsu that would allow him to submerge and flee. The same Jutsu Orochimaru so much liked.
Surprisingly he managed to do the Jutsu itself, yet not the escape. They must have thought ahead of this possibility and used earth Jutsu to harden the ground. This way he couldn't escape by digging himself out of the problem.
Jiraiya had to cough some more blood and wasn't able to intercept the incoming attack from a curse seal level two user with giant overly muscular arms. The Ninja made a hammer hit and Jiraiya crashed into the hardened ground. Another spit something at the crater and sizzling noises could be heard. A pained cry came out of the dust cloud, but it wasn't Jiraiya's. He used a substitution Jutsu with another Ninja and was on his way out of the town. But, much to his dismay and my interest, not able to escape. A red seal barrier had sprung up and was trapping us inside the district.
It looked bleak for the Sannin, and he looked as if he knew this too. He glanced back to our room and saw me impersonating the dead Ninja, a smile was on my lips and his eyes showed pain, betrayal and a big question of why.
He must really have believed that I was thinking of his as a mentor. Stupid idiot. All the time we were searching he only tried to train me in accessing Kura-chan's Chakra.
Something that I'm, as a clone, only able to do thanks to the foresight of the boss. Not once did Jiraiya try to teach me anything that would make me stronger and not use the power of someone else. Kura-chan is one hell of a power, but nothing a teenager like the persona of Dexter should be able to control. The obvious risks of rampage should be an obvious sign of not using this power.
He should have made me using shadow clones in combination with Chakra manipulation.
Anyway, I started to ramble. Jiraiya, in the meantime, tried to summon something, but only a tadpole came to his help. His eyes then hardened and it kinda seemed like he was resolved to fight to the death. But for that, he had to channel his Chakra, something that he would only be able after getting rid of the poison. For that, he needed to rest or a healer. Resting would be hard, with the toxic air around him and the over two hundred Ninja out for his blood.
And there was sure as hell no single soul in the city left that would heal him.
He bolted into a side alley and more than three dozen followed him, while another four dozen tried to cut off his path.
For now, he was out of my sight, so I turned around and sealed the dead one I was impersonating. Then I made a shadow clone and gave him the breather, before binding him up with some ropes.
And not too soon, two of the ROOT ANBU jumped inside.
“Dexter Uzuki, you are hereby arrested by the order of the Hokage Lord Danzo”, stated one of the two, confirming that they were here in order to capture me.
“You will be taken back to Konoha, where you will be trained to use the Kyuubi for the benefit of the village”, he further said and then pierced the clone with a needle. Too bad that this destroyed my clone. He was gone in a cloud of smoke and both ANBU turned around to me.
“I had no idea that he was a clone, he managed to take one of us out, but I was able to overwhelm him”, I hurriedly said. They eyed me for a moment and then just jumped out of the hole.
I too jumped out and searched for Jiraiya, he was hiding from them in the sewers. His Chakra was already calming down and he would soon be able to fight more effectively.
Something that I had no intention of allowing him to do. I jumped over his position and used a small earthquake Jutsu to collapse the tunnel he was hiding in.
He got out of it in time but was again forced to move, thanks to my quick shout; “He's in the sewers!”.
Twenty or so Ninja promptly jumped down. Most of them had some changed body part that allowed them to either see in the darkness or move better in closed space.
Two of them were killed by Jiraiya when he jumped out of a manhole. His Chakra control was now good enough to use up to B-Ranked Jutsu and using them he did.
He took out one Ninja after the other on his race around the town. And an hour later only a bunch of Chunin, twenty Jonin and the original ROOT Ninja were left.
Yet, he didn't stay unharmed. His body was bruised and he was bleeding out of many smaller wounds. He was also still coughing a sometimes, but there was no longer any blood coming up.
All in all, he was on his last leg and he knew it. Only Sennin mode would save him now, and he was too hard pressed to sit still for a couple of minutes. He was also not able to summon something strong enough to buy him time. The bigger boss summons were too large to fit inside the sealed town and smaller ones too weak to buy enough time.
“Heh, looks like I won't make it”, he finally said after killing one of the Jonin.
“Lord Orochimaru-sama demands your death”, screamed one of the last Chunin with a wicked grin.
He, like many of his comrades, fell into something like a blood frenzy and were attacking Jiraiya without holding back or regards to their own life.
“Well, if I have to die, then I'm at least taking you with me!”, shouted Jiraiya. He took out a sealing scroll from his pocket and unrolled it. The seal on it was an explosion seal. A simple one put Chakra into it and the amount of Chakra will decide the strength of the explosion.
And by the design of the seal, it could take in a large amount of Chakra. He began to pump in everything he had. The remaining Ninja saw what he tried to do and rushed at him, trying to stop him.
I don't know if they were able to kill him before he could put all of his Chakra inside, of if he managed to deplete all his reserves. I knew for sure that it wouldn't matter, as the seal would explode the moment the Chakra supply is cut off.
Yet I also didn't saw the result, I dismissed myself before it could explode. These news had to reach the boss. Orochimaru was allied with Danzo and Jiraiya dead.

8 314The Due
Every sailor knows the tale of Davy Jones' Locker. That place drowned sailors are sent to, ever resting on sea's bed. Some tales recount of a ghostly ship, the Flying Dutchman. Many a story has spawned from these two tales. Countless retellings mixing in their own fictions. But all stories spawn with a kernel of truth to them, and the story of Davy Jones is no exception. Those who've met the legendary seaman and his ghostly ship might call him a ferryman, escorting the drowned to their respective afterlives. Others might call him a devil, meting punishment on those deserving. The true story is always slightly different. Davy Jones is a ferryman, but not one for the afterlife, as Walter finds out. No, Davy Jones manages those who die at sea while in debt, and Walter died with a lot of debt. Unable to pay, Davy puts Walter to work. The specter has just the job for the dead college graduate. Another god, Sod, needs an afterlife for his new world. Davy tasks Walter with the job. Suddenly, Walter finds himself having to run a fledgling underworld with little instruction from Sod. To top it off, the denizens of Sod's world have their own ambitions to achieve godhood, and they won't take kindly to Sod's newest employee shaking up the status quo. [Traumatizing Content tag is up just to let everyone know this will be a story that deals with different themes of death. Some of them won't be nice and so better to be safe than sorry.]
