Mavis PoV
A while after I fell asleep I felt that same annoying poking for a good hour before I woke up and instantly opened a portal between my dungeon lord and the culprit.
My snarling dungeon lord appeared before Rey who was sitting on a chair reading a huge book.
Mavis: ”Do you really want to get hit that badly.”
My claws were itching to cut him down to size. Maybe an elven dwarf would work.
Rey: ‘Finally awake. About time. I’ve been poking at you for two days since you went back to sleep. Really how much can you sleep.’
I snarl but try and calm down by breathing deep. I then noticed that my body changed a bit. Standing straight I noticed how I was much less hunched back but not full up like a human. I could still go on all fours and move with much more ease but now standing at 1.85m I am at a humans height.
I then examine the rest of my body. The chest was much larger like I had trained as a warrior all my life but still slim enough to move fast. My arms and legs were also less bulky but I could feel power in my arms. It seems the muscles became much denser and slimmed down because of it.
Rey: ‘Seems you finally notice the change in your dungeon lord. The two floors you annexed caused you to grow a lot. It also seems the level of your dungeon lord is fixed to the number of floors you have.’
Mavis: ”That aside, why did you keep annoying me.”
Rey: ‘We need to get floors 1-3 ready for the villagers. When you woke up the first time it was a spiritualist wanting to talk to you wanting to know how you were, evil, good, neutral. How dangerous as well. I passed some information like the huntable animals and puppet monsters.’
Mavis: ”Well I don’t have the MP for it.’
Rey: ‘Naturally it’s just removing the monsters we want to keep. The rest are on their own.’
Mavis: ”Like I said, I don’t have MP. The fourth floor is a single room which was the boss room. I need to reform that floor before I can move the monsters down.”
Rey: ‘The guild members will feed you MP so get ready to work.’
I sneer at him and turn away returning to the final chamber.
They all soon appeared and one by one they poured their MP into my heart.
76400 MP I gained from them which was more then enough to set up the place. When I checked before I had around 17650. The 10 mages are regularly drained but human mages can’t compare to the monsters inside the guild.
Rey: ‘One more thing. Is there a setting for a lake or room filled with water?’
Mavis: ”There is but for a single room its nearly 5 times the cost in a cave floor.
Rey: ‘We are near the sea right now. We can start making sea monsters. I promised the villagers we would start.’
Mavis: ”If they are willing to give me MP then I will do it.”
Rey: ‘Can you make a large gem to hold it?’

I open the options and select a huge human head sized ruby and dropped it at his feet.
Mavis: ”If you want the lake rooms and the lake in the forest room then don’t lose that and get me the power.”
Elf: ‘He seems grumpy’
Rey: ‘Heh, he had a rough waking.’
I looked towards them growling. It was a warning everyone understood to get out.
Once the room was cleared I sat down under my heart and breathed deeply. I then saw a portal open and a rare sight appeared.
Mavis: ”You haven’t come out in a while.”
Dalson: ”With your lack of power I simply went to sleep as well. No point since you had too little.”
Mavis: ”Most of what I got is to reform the fourth floor and pull the monsters down.”
Dalson: ”Mind letting me use some. As bad as it is, several Gremlins have a lot of MP and can gain a new form. I want to see if some of the goblin forms work on them. Specifically the Troll. They are smart but nothing like the other ones.”
Mavis: ”I don’t remember seeing Gremlins in the goblin dungeon. That means the trolls were born from hobgoblins.”
Dalson: ”Yes but those were Green Trolls, there exists several colors and types of trolls. The one I want to try to make is a Red or Brown. These are trolls who have much more evil and brutal natures. I also want to do some experiments with the gremlins. Ever heard of Imps?”
Mavis: ”Demon red Goblin with wings and a tail?”
Dalson: ”That’s the one. If I start using too much MP I will stop.”
Mavis: ”Try making Imps from goblins. They seem something from Tier 2 monsters and not 3."
Dalson: "Can do. You should get over the grumpiness. Maybe get something to eat. You haven't eaten anything since you became a dungeon."
Mavis:"I'll try that. I might be able to work off this anger."
Dalson: "...I also suggest you think about changing your dungeon lord. The berserk mode seems to cause you massive strain and makes you aggressive.
I simply nod. He sighs and turns around returning to the lair.
I sigh as I look at my own body again. This body is a feral ratman. It is probably slowly making me feral. I wonder if dad is ok. He seems to fit well as this kind of monster because the speed works well with is old class.
For me, I took on any form of fighting style from assassin, hit and run to warrior frontline fighting.
I never specialized. If I think about it, I only choose this form to remain close to dad. It won't change that fact if I'm not a similar race.
Mavis: How much would it cost to change the dungeon lord to something else?
Help: Animals will cost cost a third of the original cost. To a Tier 1 monster, half the original cost. Tier 2 the original cost. Tier 3 three times the original cost.
For tier 3, 9000 MP. The races I can become from tier 3 are Feral Marsupial Rat, Saber Tooth Ape Tiger, Death Bat, Ogre, Troll, Orc, Goblin Shaman. Do full beastmen appear as rank four. I jumped really far up from feral rat which was tier 2. Would I get to a tier 5 race if I go with rank 3.
I leave that aside for now and turn my attention to the fourth floor. It would be home to all the monsters while 1-3 were hunting grounds.
I expand the fourth floor with cave corridors. 30 rooms were cave rooms for cave dweller but the another 10 large rooms were forest. I then expand these forest rooms by adding an underwater cave. The part above water was natural cave but the one with water was filled up.
It took a lot of power to make these rooms so the fourth floor was smaller.
I pull down the animals and puppet monsters to set up the floor. I will have Dalson work on the dungeon lizard a bit. I feel a forest with a body of water is a perfect, natural habitat for lizard men.
Oh, in one of them I went overboard and above the room I made a water filled cave and connected to it while making a channel from the lake to the top of the water cave to keep it filled from the water constantly refilling in a cycle .
With that a small waterfall was built.
I do notice something annoying though. The smart monsters are always being moved about. They already had a good set up in the fifth floor which is peaceful. It then hits me. The fifth floor would be a permanent home for monsters that we consider smart and will soon gain reason as well as a breeding ground.
I pull all the tribes of smart monsters down to the forest and leave them there. I then set the fourth floor with monsters and make them all enter a frenzied growth. I want random evolutions similar to the unique stuff from floor three like all the bugs.
I am left with 25000 MP when I finish the fourth floor. That was until Rey returned.
It was night time already when he returned and he dropped the gem. I simply absorb the MP and leave him with the gem.
Mavis: "Keep it in the base. If the villagers want a specific kind of creature created the price would be their own MP so I can make them."
Rey: 'You seem in a better mood now.'
Mavis: "Can it."
With the shockingly large MP supply of over 80k I increased the size of the fourth floor adding water to four more forest rooms and increased the size of the dungeon. The closer it got to the final room before the fifth floor I started connecting the corridors and turned them into ruins. A space connected all the corridors and made a circular room there.
It was a room before the final room which I was going to make a boss monster for to keep them out of the fifth floor.
In the end the floor plan for my dungeon ended up like this.

The improvements were quite nice and with all the smart monsters in the Great forest I didn't have to keep shifting them around. All they needed to do is either hunt the monsters down here or if they wanted something more specific then they can go up the floors.
Now then like the list says, Red Trolls were a success. It seems the dumber the gremlins the more brutal as well as they lack the brainpower to understand how to fly.
Red Trolls Live on floor four and seem to like forest rooms without water. They are about three meters tall, ugly as fuck and strong enough to put them at the top of the food chain. Next to them is what Dalson discovered was a flying Gremlins natural rank up. A gargoyle, as we named it.
The creature is tall and if they stand straight up they reach 220 cm at their highest. They are hunched back like the gremlins and have dark grey skin. They aren't skinny like gremlins and have thin muscular bodies. Their arms reach down to their knees and their hands are large with huge claws.
They have a similar goblin like face, big nose, round head, big pointy ears and all teeth are fangs.
This race shows complete disregard for good like the others and will attack anyone.
I had to force my will on them when they attacked and kill off the trolls. It would have been all the trolls as well. Many of the gremlin had enough MP to rank up and large numbers did so.
Trolls show a simple stupid idea of life fighting and killing. Gargoyles were evil and all the thoughts I heard from them were about killing. They were considered part of the demon category. For a place they lived in. I made it in the cave rooms, ones that were extra high. It was near the top of the room hidden up there in the shadows.
What annoyed me was that they attacked the skeletons for fun.
To resolve this I gave five skeletons full steel plate armor and had them put them on. They couldn't move well but I had Dalson go and give them a mass of MP which completed the rank up into skeleton knights.
They put both of the Gremlin rank ups in their place. An effect the rank up had was giving them a consciousness and intelligence as well as the ability to control the other lesser skeletons.
I had one of the five head to the third floor and lead the skeleton guards there.
It seems depending the clothes I give skeletons before they rank up determine their rank up path.
Now then. I had asked Dalson for imps as well. Gremlins can't rank up to them but goblins can. It was tested on green goblins and stupid ones.
The result was rather interesting. As the list above shows. We invested the villagers MP well.
From the dumb ones we gained an imp that is just like those we found in demon dungeons they were present in.
Like gremlins, they remain goblin sized, skinny and ugly. They have small bat wings that gives them short flight, scrawny bodies like a half starved mutt and short black nails. On their back was a short demon tail and the final thing that made it the imp we knew was the characteristic red skin.
They were on par with gremlins in strength but they had the edge because they had a small level of skill in fire magic.
Now then, what we got from the green goblins were much more interesting.
It came out an Imp but with black skin. It was totally different from the red ones. This black one was the size of a hobgoblin and just like one he had a 12 year old humans physique. His hands had short claws, on his back were short black wings and near his butt was a long strong tail.
If the skin was green you would have thought it was a hobgoblin that sprouted wings and a tail.
They were also highly intelligent and adept in magic. What was surprising was their ability to speak the human language. Hobgoblins have it much more easier now. The goblin race has gotten smarter as a whole so with each generation they learn to speak earlier.
Once several goblins ranked up to this the next day I built a new village for them. They branched too far from goblins so it was separated.
Besides those, we made water based monsters. Both born from lizards. First is called the Ludruth.
It’s a larger dungeon lizard the lives in the water, about four meters long. On its neck are several slits opening to its gills. The back legs were turned into a kind of caudal fin but could still move the lizard on land. The front legs are still the same.
The lizardmen are much more different. Sporting an upright human structure they stand at human height though slightly hunched over. Their head remains the same lizardy face. Their bodies are covered in green spiky scales and a long tail remains on their behind.
They are quite territorial but between lizard kin, dungeon lizard and Ludruth, they are neutral and help each other defend their territories which is the forests with water.
The new monsters took most of the remaining MP we had, so the room I set up for a boss monster to safeguard the forest below was still empty. That said the large metal door in front of the boss room was made with a complex magic seal which kept it locked at all times.
Only my dungeon lord could open the door or it had to be smashed.
With all of this set and done about 5 days passed since I woke up. Besides all the gremlin growing up. Several Hobgoblins ranked up to Ogre and Goblin Shaman. We don’t know how to make Orcs yet but it might be another stupid goblin rank up
I tell Rey to go and tell them the new set up. It was set like this.
They can come all the way to the fourth floor. Trolls would be left behind for 30 minutes to drain their blood before they are absorbed. Other creatures would be absorbed as they die and would leave behind a single item at random except the cores. The drop rate is 20% so that there wouldn't be such a huge mass of items gained.
Also each floor had a limit of each monster or animal that would be allowed to kill. Once the number is reached the monster race will go into hiding so as not to go extinct.
There will be a weekly payment cost. The village must fill one ruby gem with MP brought in by Rey. This is a payment so I can keep the monsters alive and make new ones to increase the variety as well as the size of the dungeon. Once paid, Rey will hand out a special emblem which keeps the skeletons from attacking them and if they almost die they will be teleported out.
They last for a week, or one use.
Any further trade directly with the villages in the fifth floor should be discussed with them.
With this written on paper I handed it to Rey and he leaves with the ruby gemstone I handed to him before.
With the mass of mana gained this time I plan to change which creature my dungeon lord is to something that won't make me go crazy.

AV Online was just a flash in the pan—a harsh, experimental land which lost most of its players in mere weeks. Only the dedicated few remained, carving out their destinies in corners of the vast abandoned world. Lily Quinn wasn't one of them. With a career worth millions in the esports world, she didn't have time for a game like Avo—but when an exclusive beta test for the new version showed up on her doorstep, she couldn't say no… as much as she wanted to. Literally hooked into the simulation, Lily reluctantly entered a world beyond anything she'd ever dreamed of. Accompanied by seven other beta testers desperate to save their beloved game, Lily dives into a vibrant, beautiful world, where mystery and adventure waits around every corner. Despite her reservations, Lily finds a joyful escape in Avo, shattering her cold, hollow reality. It was just a game though… until the group discovered they couldn't log out. Trapped in a game with no rules, and surrounded by cutthroat players eager to kill for a quick windfall, Lily and her ragged band have no choice but to fight their way out, or die in a game that has turned all too real. Hi there! I'm setting off on yet another adventure, come join me :3 Unusually for me, there's only one perspective this time, and it's quite a bit more action-oriented than I usually write. Don't worry, though: everything's still as character-driven as always, and I never get tired of writing dialogue. Just to acknowledge it up front: this story is heavily inspired by EVE Online and the many stories generated by that world. However, since this is a fantasy setting, not sci-fi, don't expect any real parallels. Chapter publish rate for this one will be whenever I write them, as with Epilogue. I don't expect to move as fast here though, since it's not for NaNo. The plan is chapters somewhere in the 4k-5k range, and hopefully frequently. The Last Science takes priority as always though. Special thanks to Reaver and Ace Arriande for pushing me to get this going, and to all my fellow writers whom I've stolen from been inspired by. You're all wonderful people and I love you Quick reminder: Patrons get to read ahead of what's published!
