《This Kitty has guns》Chapter 8: Our First Adventure

When I woke up the next morning, I found myself cuddled with Reveon. Most likely unconsciously hugged him during the sleep. It seems that I really like him. I reluctantly lifted my head from his chest. I could feel that he was about to wake up, and I wanted to remove my hand from under him before he does. My movements awakened him completely and I quickly closed my eyes to pretend as still asleep.
For a while, he was just lying still. As I felt his gaze on me, I regulated my breathing and the rate of a heartbeat so even professional couldn't tell I was just playing asleep. After a bit, from scent and his breathing, I could tell he was getting aroused.
He was staring at my breasts!
I completely forgot that I don't have a bra, and when he opened his eyes, saw much more than I'd like to show. I had to use my body manipulation just to prevent my embarrassment from showing up on the face.
Soon I could "feel" Reveon reaching with his hand to touch me.
Should I "wake up" and stop him? Hmm, but yesterday I touched him without permission as well... I guess I can allow it once if it's only a touch.
Shortly I felt a gentle sensation of his hand. This is bad. If this continues... I really should 'wake up' now.
With one last brush over my nipple, Reveon withdrew his hand and stood up from the bed. I awaited him to start dressing, but only felt him still staring at me. I opened my eyes and saw that he was already with the clothes. Space-Time Magic? Can he summon clothes directly on his body? If I had this as well, putting slave collar away would be so easy... not that it was needed anymore.
"Good morning Kitty. You look beautiful," Reveon greeted me with a grin.
"Umm thanks? Could you please turn around?" I was at the loss how should I react and asked him while covering my chest.
After I dressed up as well, we left the room. Tamara was serving food for a few orcs at the tables and the innkeeper Kilmor was chatting with a human.
When I asked where I could wash up Tamara showed a well at the backyard of the Inn. Only a high fence was shielding from any stray gazes of people on the streets. The water was cold, but the alternative was to not wash at all. After a quick bout, I joined Reveon for a breakfast and we left the Inn shortly after.

As I stood in the queue to pick my adventurer's badge, Reveon started browsing through requests on one of the bulletin boards. As I was waiting, I used part of the nutrients I got from breakfast, to improve the stats. But only a bit, the rest was kept as reserves.
"State your business, slave." receptionist addressed me in a cold tone without any greetings.
He was a dwarf, and it seems he had quite an attitude against slaves. When he talked with an adventurer just a moment ago he was very polite, and one of the adventurers before that was even a cat beastkin, so my race had nothing to do with it.

"I am here to receive my adventurer's badge," I stated in equally cold tone.
"Name." said the dwarf with disgust evident on his face.
"Melissa," I replied while imagining how I would beat him, if he crossed the line.
The dwarf left the desk, and after a while returned with a metal badge in his hand. The badge portrayed a sword with an opened book behind. It looked the same as the sign on the Adventurers Guild building. He placed the badge on the desk, but it was a bit far from my side and not that convenient if wanted to reach.
"Place your hand on it and say 'Identity Check' " the dwarf grinned.
With a quick movement, as if I was attacking, I reached the badge and frightened the dwarf in the process.
"Identity check," I grinned as well.
The badge glowed with a blue light and glowing letters in the air stated my name, gender, age, and rank. There was also an empty spot for the class. I guess with this my identity as the rightful owner of the badge was confirmed.
After that, the dwarf started to explain the rules. Every word was spoken under his nose and most of them were cut short. With my enhanced hearing and making sense from the context, I understood what was said, but my opinion of him has definitely not improved.
Basically, as an adventurer, I had to obey the Law, like everyone else and if I become a criminal, would be kicked from the guild. If I somehow managed to lose adventurers badge, would have to pay a fine and an additional fee for making a new one. If I refused an emergency request without a serious justification, would receive a huge penalty in guild points or even drop in rank.
In the case where I dropped from rank F to G, to reach it again just being level ten would be no longer enough, and would have to take a test once have the necessary amount of guild points. When accepting the request as a party, guild points and monetary rewards are distributed according to the ranks. Also, if our life isn't in danger, we are not allowed to hunt animals without taking a corresponding request. This was to prevent a collapse of the local ecosystem from overhunting.
That doesn't apply when hunting monsters though.
I was finally an adventurer... though thanks to a certain dwarf my mood wasn't that good as it should. As I reached Master near the bulletin board, I took a deep breath and just as suspected, the scent of Reveon helped me to calm down a bit.
"Oh, you are back already, Kitty? Was hoping to find something while you were busy. They really should start sorting out those requests. It's a pain in the ass just to find requests for our ranks."
"Reveon, look," I pointed at wanted posters, "These don't have any rank restrictions... Naeren Thelar, dark elf assassin. Wanted dead or alive, reward... whoa... 20 gold! Suspected to be hiding in Endorod City. If we take him out, my debt would be almost paid."

"His bounty 20 gold is for a reason, Kitty," Master replied with a taunting grin, "Even if you had what it takes to take him down, how would you find him? If city guards haven't found him til now, it means he is very good at hiding. Also, there is no guarantee that he is still in the city."
Hmm, he has a point. In the old world, most of the investigation could be done through the computer by checking cameras in the city. Without any clues to start from, my best bet would be a lucky encounter. Can't start invading every suspicious house on the goose chase.
"Hmm, we can hunt some wolfs while on the way to Luhton village," started to talk Reveon again while touching his chin with a hand, "There is a request for investigating missing girls at the village. Even if the investigation gets us nowhere, at the very least one request will be completed."
With the plan decided we once again stood in line but now to register two requests on our name. After it was done we started heading towards the city gates. It was my first time leaving the city. Just showing our guild badge was enough to let entrance guards let us pass.
*
On the way to the village, we meet a traveling merchant with few guards. He happened to be heading for Luhton village as well. Judging from his empty carriage, I think he planned to buy corn from farmers there.
"So what brings you to Luhton village?" asked the merchant.
He was a middle-aged human, while both of his guards were dwarf adventurers.
"We are heading there for a request. The plan was to see if we can find missing women or at least determine their fate," answered Reveon.
"Missing women?" asked merchant with a surprise in his voice, "Well, with enhanced smell sense of your slave, it should be possible. Though I think they are..."
"Master," I interrupted their conversation, "I picked the scent of a wolf pack South East from there."
"Seems we will part our ways there. Good luck," said Reveon and followed me as I lead him into the forest.
"Good luck to you too." I could hear the merchant from behind.
*
"Analyze," Reveon whispered while facing a wolf pack in the distance.
'Analyze' was done by a small orb, that Reveon held in his hand. Well, I never saw any skills with the name 'analyze' in his status, but he talked like he could use it, so this explained a lot.
"Their average level is 5, while leading alpha is at level 7. It's quite risky even with surprise on our side. There are too many of them." said Reveon while facing me.
"Why? It's only five of them." I asked surprised.
"They are clever hunters and know the danger of arrows. After our first shoots they will use the trees as a cover when approaching us," he replied.
"Well, it doesn't matter. They already noticed us," I said while pointing at the pack that started to spread while heading our way, "I am not the only one with a good nose and ears."
"Fuck," cursed Reveon.
I grabbed him and tossed over my shoulder, and then while using 'dragon claws' to support additional weight, I climbed a nearby tree.
I then placed Reveon on the thickest branch and without a need to worry about him jumped down and prepared for a fight> I was in good mood. I swear, groping his butt, while I carried him on the tree, has nothing to do with it!
"Dammit, Kitty! You should warn me if you plan to do something like that," he said slightly annoyed, to which I responded with a giggle.
Reveon quickly recovered from unexpected development and started shooting arrows with a bow. Even with their clever use of the trees as a cover and superb dodging skills, soon only four remained.
"Hey, Reveon! Do you need to hit them personally to receive experience for the kill ?" I asked while waiting for the pack to reach us.
"No, as long as we are in the same party, we will share the experience equally," he replied while shooting another arrow, which missed by a hair's breadth, "Many nobles raise their levels without lifting a finger thanks to this,"
"Then why I got nothing when you killed that wolf ?" I asked still waiting for the wolves to reach me.
"We will get experience only at the end of a battle," answered Reveon after managing to injure one more wolf.
With a sidestep, I sliced with my claws through the throat of charging alpha and then captured the next attacker by the neck and held him in the air. The dragon claws skill spared me any need to use my sword.
Their almost simultaneous attack from two sides was a nice plan though. If they attacked at the same time without delay, both attacks could have been avoided with a single dodge. A slight delay meant that I needed reaction to dodge at least twice.
Previously injured wolf received another arrow from Reveon, and fell to the ground now dead. The last remaining wolf turned around and started to flee. I snapped the neck of the wolf in my hand and started to chase after him.
Skill "Sprint" learned. Sprint reached level 2.
After reaching him, I sent him flying with a kick and when he bounced from a nearby tree, followed that by piercing through his throat with my hand,

*A Rational-Adjacent litRPG Survival Series.* The time for the trials has come, pitting the mortal species of the galaxy against one another. By completing challenges, clearing dungeons, and defeating rival species, the players may forge themselves stronger and smarter. But only one species will be declared the winner. Earth has finally qualified... ...and participation is mandatory. A twenty-nine year old data entry clerk works together with a group of internationally diverse players to survive. Learning synergistic skills and using teamwork, can humanity achieve an upset? If they don't, their lives are forfeit. Author's note: Chapters will be anywhere from 6k to 10k in words, varying based on the plot beats instead of specific word counts. Realistic actions and teamwork will be important aspects of my story. I'm trying something a little different in writing a realism focused litRPG, hoping to capture the essence of how real people would react to their situation. People are complex and don't always get along. I don't recommend starting the series expecting wish fulfillment tropes just because it's tagged litRPG. It's a survival story with the game settings on Hell difficulty. The plot hasn't gotten there yet, but in the future of the series I want to recreate my nostalgia of forty person raids on Ragnaros, but with the high stakes of boss battles in Sword Art Online. I also love puzzle rooms so expect one of those each book. Warnings: mild PG-rated language, graphic violence and gore, and graphic medical content.
